Misao can no longer run from Sae's control. But Ran Daimon, whose curiosity is insatiable, manages to get close to the hopeless Misao. "I want to know everything." What is Ran's true purpose?
In the last volume, it ended with the explosion at the middle school and Misao waking up to Sae telling her everything had been taken care of, and the school reporter, Ran Daimon, watching Sae closely to work out her secrets. On Misao's way to school, she is taken by Ran to a karaoke bar where Ran gets Misao to tell her everything about Sae, who is later invited and Ran introduces herself into their friendship group to make sure Misao is never alone with Sae at any time. When the summer holidays roll around, Sae invites Misao and Ran to her family's excluded villa where she plans to kill Ran, but Ran is more durable than Sae originally thinks. When Sae falls asleep, Ran and Misao explore the villa and meet Sae's father, "The Mysterious Baron" who tells them that Sae is dangerous when half asleep. They then have to find a way to get Sae out of her half-asleep state before she kills them all.
This volume was great, but I wonder if Ran really is as helpful as she's trying to be. Ran appears to have the best interests at heart, but it seems like she may be willing to put herself and Misao into dangerous situations to get to the "truth" about Sae Maki. I wonder what the mysterious temple area underneath their villa is about.
