Determined to expose the weakness in the vow binding Zack and Ray together, prison guard Cathy declares it's time for the two to bid each other farewell. To that end, she continues inflicting punishments upon the pair, who find a treacherous path laid out before them. Things only get worse when, after a dose of Cathy's special "medicine," Zack's urge to kill runs rampant, and he brings his scythe to Ray's throat...!
Idk how much more I’m going to read. The art is pretty, but the story is getting worse. The characters are weird, the story is getting stranger, and the mangaka is weird for “subtlety” trying to make Rachel and Zach’s relationship anything but platonic; it’s so gross.
This series feels to me like a two person Saw movie, and I love it. There’s crazy stakes, choices and although Rachel is starting to feel flatter than anything, same with Isaac, I’m still willing to see what the characters have. We get little bits of development here and there but it seems like their main thing is just to argue about will he kill Rachel or not. I’d be more interested to see them continue to interact with new characters and such.
This is my favorite manga series honestly. I love the artwork and story. This is my second time re-reading the series (up to the current published ones of course). I love it more each time.
This volume had a weakness of mine, I'm a sucker for the "How did they turn out this way" backstory of characters. Especially the not-so-good-ones. There was a lot in this one that was past just trying to get through levels and hearing about who ran the floor though: more backstory on Zach mostly through flashbacks that are less than pleasant for him, (), a surprisingly emotional scene between him and Ray(that wasn't romantic at all and stayed in character and I applaud it honestly), and them both sort of coming to terms with what their "relationship" is. In all of it's mess.
I am currently eagerly awaiting for Volume 5 and hope to get it as soon as it hits the store.
Another level another serial killer, this really should be boring but it just isn't! There is so much build up with the lead two and we still no barely anything about them.
I like the fact that in this they decided to go other ways and are face with an ultimatum at the end, very interested to see what happens next.
Ce tome était très sympa à lire, peut-être un peu moins que le précédent puisque l'on est toujours au même étage, mais il restait intéressant pour le développement de l'histoire et de, je l'espère, l'intrigue.
I hope the series gets better & more interesting. I liked this one because we get more insight into a certain character and there’s also new characters (such as the last few ones) we met. I like the art work.
Excellent tome, on en apprend encore plus sur le passé de Zack et on a une belle avancée de la relation Zack/Rachel. En revanche je suis choquée de cette dernière page, genre vous allez vraiment me laisser sur ça /pos
So, I know this was meant to be the "big moment" for Rachel and Zack where they truly come together and become friends or whatever, but both characters have so little personality that it made zero impact on me. Also, the traps weren't as interesting as they were in the previous volume and Cathy is still fucking obnoxious, so none of that helped. And yet, I keep reading because it's a breeze to get through and doesn't require a lot of thought. So there's that, I guess.
