My name is Katie Beller, but the world, as of late, knows me as Bailey Swan, the love guru behind my bestselling book. Want the shortened version? Here it Love was stupid. A fake. A farce Love was broken. Women everywhere were eating up my advice and fighting back against fake love. My book started a relationship revolution. And I stood by my story. Until I met Charlie Bates. When I throw all my own rules and advice out the window after a week-long rendezvous, I start to wonder just how real my words were. Maybe love might be just a little more complicated than I thought. Maybe I’m the one who’s love broken.
USA Today Bestselling author J.D. Hollyfield is a creative designer by day and superhero by night. When she is not trying to save the world one happy ending at a time, she enjoys the snuggles of her husband, sons, and doxies. With her love for romance, and a head full of book boyfriends, she was inspired to test her creative abilities and bring her own story to life.
J.D. Hollyfield lives in the Midwest and is currently at work on blowing the minds of readers, with the additions of her new books and series, along with her charm, humor, and Happily Ever After's.
I don’t have a great literary background story for you on how my book hit the big time, or any “awe” love story that pushed me to write it. To be honest, I’m a bartender at a local hole in the wall in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, and I just get to hear and see a lot of shit.
What I didn’t expect was a cult-like following of women to read my book of words and start a hateration on dead-beat men.
I don’t dance. Mainly because I don’t know how to, so this game of who can make who jealous more, quickly starts blowing up in my face, since I look like I’m having a seizure over trying to get hot and heavy on the dance floor.
My love got so messy, it should have come with a cleaning kit. To say it was a bit turbulent at times was an understatement.
My Review:
No matter how carefully I shop, I often come home with a new carton of eggs only to later notice an obvious fissure in one of them. Love Broken was my twelfth J.D. Hollyfield read, and my least favorite of the otherwise crack-free dozen. I started off with a smirk and high expectations, anticipating writing up another 5-Star review for the crafty author I had previously experienced to be cleverly amusing, but my smile and projected rating started to slip, bounced a bit, then plummeted with a grimace for an uncomfortably long stretch while I actively sighed, before finally resuming to a habitable level again shortly before I ran out of pages and optimism.
My chief source of consternation was my lack of appreciation for the irritable main character of Katie, and all the brooding, conflict, and angst she mired herself with. I had adored previous readings of Ms. Hollyfield’s amusing work and had aspirations of liking this one as well, so I expended a considerable amount of energy while endeavoring to find some admirable traits in the cowardly Katie. However, other than her witty snark and euphoric sexual chemistry with the cut, buff, and swoon-worthy character of Charlie/Chase, I found Katie rather tedious and exasperating; the annoyingly cranky and immature type of personality I actively avoid in real life. Katie was bitterly insecure, bitingly bitchy, irresponsible, and tiresomely stubborn. I couldn’t fathom why the besotted Charlie/Chase would bother with her, other than the explosive sensual gymnastics they performed. Sizzle and snap! They scorched the sheets!
Don’t get me wrong. Love Broken was not a bad book, just not as balanced or engagingly entertaining as I have come to expect from the talented wordsmith. Despite the periodic sparkles of clever humor, I read with a darkening sense of personal disappointment that blossomed into dire discontent, which then morphed into disenchantment and near despair, but I ended on a higher note of relief with the desirable destination of a satisfying HEA conclusion. Could I have possibly added more d-words to that sentence?
While I have read other books co-written by this author, this is my first book to read written all by J.D. Hollyfield. What a good story this one was!
Bailey Swan is a best seller author who has agreed to go on her first tour with book signing. Although a bartender by day, she has remained anonymous by writing under this pen name. Nervous as all get out, she heads out for her first signing.
Charlie Bates is a NHL athlete who also is a cover model traveling to book signings on off season from hitting the puck around the ice. Women flock to him at signings, offering up their bodies, smothering him with unwanted touches, anything to get recognized by this hunk of a man.
When he makes a mad dash to his hotel room to avoid the gang of groupies chasing him through the hotel, he lands at the wrong door. Begging and pleading for the person who answered to let him in to escape.
Bailey wrote the book that has changed so many women’s take on what Love is, what their relationship is all about. She has a back bone stronger than anyone and is not letting this hunk of a model sway her from believing that there is only ‘fake love’.
When these two broken souls meet, the sizzling that goes on, is hotter than bacon frying on a griddle!
But can the lies and the words spoken ever be forgotten? Or will these two be destined to be single forever?
I loved this one..fun, fierce and a male model. So easy to read. Devoured in a sitting. I am going to attempt a review for it..hold please (insert Timberlake #filthy )
Review--->This book was fun, heartfelt, smoking hot and had a angsty back and forth that had me flipping through the pages quicker than I was polishing off my Pinot. And FYI that is FAST. I connected with Katie aka Bailey Swan and loved that it takes place in the book world that I admire and love. Knowing that in my small world authors that I connect with are my rock stars and I put them in a different category than they even put themselves (top shelf y'all). And male models, although they aren't my reason to go to a signing, they aren't bad to look at. To get an "inside" story, although set in a fiction world was like watching a favorite reality show and I was HOOKED.
I loved Bates. He was funny, ferocious, and wouldn't take no for an answer. Knowing what he wanted and doing the work to make sure it happens. Katie didn't see herself as people around her did. The insecurities that life can deliver exuded from her up until she saw herself through someone that loved her. It was beautiful to watch. Funny moments. Heart-filled moments. And angst. The perfect ingredient to a love story for me. Add some back and forth, secrets and the feeling of taking away something like my favorite toy and dangle it in front of me..I LOVE IT. Knotted stomach, laughter, maybe even a watery eye, this story really caught me. Felt like I was invited to the "cool" kids party and got a front row seat to all things book world. J.D. Hollyfield portrayed it all with humor, heart and tequila. Perfectly.
I consider myself a hip reader so I declare -this story is sooooo Fetch!!😉 a seemingly normal rom-com with a good story line. What makes it different is the rendition. I use the word rendition , because it's very theatrical in presentation. Full of slapstick comedy and perfect caricatures of the characters. There's an author - Bailey swan, aka Katie Beller who hasn't yet come out of the author closet, so to speak . She attends the first book signing, outing herself, cause apparently the first book she wrote- Love Broken has climbed all charts and made her famous over night.
A story based on the juicy tales she hears moonlighting as a bartender has catapulted her to the Hot Author category. In the signing she meets Charlie Bates(as the motel), whose real name is Chase Green, like the colour . A hot, sexy, oh-so-swoonworthy model and they have wild passionate night(s) . He devours her doubts and pierces her impenetrable armour of rules that she has secured her heart in. Push comes to shove and they fall in love.
The story as I said is pretty ordinary, but JD's writing is so slick and perfect blend of hearts and laughter, it makes it a fantastic read. I guarantee , it'll hook you from 1st page to the last. I note here that it's art imitating life. We all have heard of so many instances of models behaving badly, models brawling, authors fighting over a model's attention and the ultimate-> authors hooking up with models. It's become a pretty common occurrence at every signing. Not that there's anything wrong with it !! It's funny how JD gives us newbie authors' POV on their signing debuts. When the first reader approached my table, she practically passed out telling me how much she loved my book and asked if she could hug me. I practically passed out because I had no idea how to respond. so it's not only the readers who are nervous? ....wow ! #TheMoreYouKnow ! The comes the crunch part. The travails of instant fame and social media bane. The line between fame and infamy gets very blurred and when the shoe is on the other foot, it becomes a heavy rock tied around your neck. Very interesting turn JD has cleverly inserted at this point in the story. A simple tagline could probably read like this ! “It’s about a girl who doubts so much in life, she doesn’t know when it’s time to trust. To forgive when forgiving is needed.” Love is Messy Love doesn't come with How-to manual. Live isn't identical Love is actually customised. Created for each person differently. I loved the story, the clichès, the cheesiness of it at some point, shattering of myths & issues of trust . JD's writing style makes it a delight to read with perfect blend of passion and angst ➡️ #HornyTears !!! FYI- if you're taking requests, next book make this Hot & Sexy model fall in love with a middle aged, slightly chubby blogger please !!😘 4.5 Katie the Belcher stars #BookBistroBlogApproved Follow us on FB - https://www.facebook.com/groups/BookB... Love Broken is the ideal "insecurities rule my thoughts" romance. Justifications, judgements, and stereotypes rule the thought process of this heroine. In short she is just as flawed as you and me!
***(Pardon this tangent, I swear there's a point.) I once heard on the radio that a popular pop star divorced his wife once he saw The Notebook. His excuse was that they did not and would never have that kind of love. As a romance enthusiast, we can get pulled into the hype too. You may not openly compare your spouse or significant other to the Heroes but it happens. So when Katie/Bailey compares the stereotypes to the hunk of a cover model, I'm sure a few people will nod. When she puts herself in that plain Jane role, even more will nod. When she compares her life to those around her, there won't be a single reader that isn't doing the same to some extent. So again, that popular musician divorced his wife because of a love story that was epic and in his eyes he couldn't live up to it.
What I love about this book, Love Broken is the entirety of the last chapter acts as a reset button for all those falling into that trap. It's a wake up call. It's a reminder. It's a beautiful expression of the magic of love.
It's also the best conclusion we readers can hope to get...everyone dies. Just kidding, I had to see if my hopeless romantic rant scared you off.
Love Broken is realistic and true. It's flawed and it's funny. It's "perfect." And you will get swept up in the romance of it all!
Step inside for a tongue in cheek look at the other side of indie book world.
I’ve never been to a book signing but I kind of hope this is true, the backstabbing, sexy models, illicit relationships oh and crazy obsessive readers <—— which I’m not honest.
Katie and Chase were a fun couple to read about. I think we can all identify with Katie at some point in our lives I know I could and Chase doesn’t give up easy.
I would have liked some of the story in Chase’s POV to get inside his head. This was an enjoyable fun read.
I loved this storyline and the inside look at the “new author breakthrough.” The heroine’s insecurities and negative self image are ones many of us can identify with, especially in the midst of a beautiful male cover model — I mean, come on, our fantasies have all gone there to some degree, we do read naughty books, after all. It is easy to constantly compare ourselves to others, those we feel inferior to, and difficult to believe compliments given. The heroine really gave our Hero a run for his money. He had his work cut out for him in his pursuit for the attention of this author and breaking down her fortress of self preservation.
Love Broken Five trillion heart wrenching amaze-balls stars!!!
*ARC gifted in return for an honest review*
Yes yes YES! This is what I needed. This book is everything!
I’m reviewing this book a bit differently than I usually do. While reading it I wanted to tell someone about it but didn’t want to ruin the story for anyone, So I decided I’ll write my review and add my feelings while reading! So I apologize now...it’s a bit messy.
Im hooked. I’m in love with everything this book is giving me. The anxiety is insane. I have to take breaks to gather my emotions and calm myself down. The emotional sex. The complicated relationship. All of it has my heart hurting. I just had to stop for a bit to gather my thoughts. To stop crying. My heart strings are being pulled so hard right now it’s hurting. I want to scream or throw something. I picked the wrong time to stop drinking wine. Ugh! I adore Katie and Chase.
Alright back to reading I go.
At 84% and The tightness in my chest is really messing with me. Katie and Chase are ruining me and my poor little heart. It’s the meet and greet and I just can’t take all this hurt. I want to ugly cry so hard right now. Why is this happening!!?? Ok back into it I go.
All done! Let me just say this story is forever tattooed in my brain and on my heart. It will never leave. I’m obsessed with it. Everyone needs to read Love Broken. No joke. Seriously. Get to one clicking. I think I highlighted the whole book! The best quotes. The best heart wrenching situations. And I loved that I could laugh while reading it too. This book has it all. Now to some how move on from this is going to be a challenge. Thank you J.D. Hollyfield, you are a godsend! You now have a forever fan!
Get ready for those belly laughs while reading Love Broken!!!
Ohhh gahhhh I fell in love with the whole concept of this book. Love that the leading lady is a author!! Love her LOVE interest!!! Love the HAWT romance in this book. Love the Banter!! and Love tha Sexual Tension!! All this goodness wrapped up in Love Broken!!!
Katie is a bartender but known in the romance community as Bailey Swan. She has had her fair share of bad romances. She wants that happily ever after, but it just ain't happenen for her!! Sooo she writes about it and boy do her readers just love her!! She started a relationship revolution. lol She even uses some of the stories she hears from her drunken patrons in her books...lol
Charlie Bates...yes as in Bates Hotel..haha (you will love all this banter!!!) is a hockey player and in his off season, he models as a cover model and frequents the Author event circuit.
This is where these two meet up, at an author event and ohh the fun they have together!! Buttt they have to keep it on the down low. He has a huge following and she has to keep up her persona that all men are dogs!! lol Sooo how will her readers take to her having this happy LOVE life with this man she has fallen for. Ummm this is where you have to go one click and find out all the juicy deets!!! lol
I gave Love Broken 5 Fun Loving iScream Cones!! Make sure you go pick up JD Hollyfield's next 5 Star book..sooo freaking good!! : )
Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author. Thank you for this book it seriously brought a smile to my face. We meet this beautiful character and we read about her insecurities, because she does not see herself as others see her, about how she truly is.. and I love Chase, my friends read will be glad that you did. Enjoy!!
It's a solid 4 stars for JD Hollyfield's Love Broken. We dive head first into the indie book world with bartender Katie Beller and hockey player Chase Green, but they are better known as author Bailey Swan and cover model Charlie Bates. They meet on tour. What could go wrong.
I enjoyed the banter between Katie and Chase. He just doesn't know when to give up. It's kind of endearing and I'm glad he doesn't.
I have been in Katie's shoes. I have been Love Broken too. It's hard to be optimistic. The walls are up for a reason. All it takes is the right someone to break them down.
This book is from Katie's POV. I would have loved to have read Chase's POV.
This review is for The Sweet Spot Sisterhood Blog.
Do you feel love Broken? I am sure many of us do, but are we really broken or does our own baggage prevent us from seeing what is right in front of us? J.D. Hollyfield delivers another great story of love and how everyone’s version is different. Chase and Katie are funny, cute and difficult, just like life. In finding themselves will they find the courage to love each other?
WOW....I read a snippet of this via an anthology and can not wait to finish it. As with her other books this one is snippy and funny and her characters are strong and independent. If you're looking for the frail timid love struck woman...you wont find her here. Well not exactly haha Hot and funny and sexually frustrating....this book is a grabber :)
I haven't got my head around this. But I'll give a quick review then a lot longer one later. *wink
So another book from this wine addict author haha. Anyway, the reason I love her books it's because they are all ROMCOM type of books. I love this one. This is very different from Faking It - where there are a lot of hot and steamy sex . This book is heart wrenching gut punching one. It tugs my heart strings and this book is really with all the feels. A book telling how Love is really broken. I imagined Katie Beller as the author herself. I don't know why! haha. But it really feels good to imagine her as Katie.
Katie is really cool. I can relate to her in a way because she tends to make a negative comment to herself. Not really into giving praises about it. But hey she's a bartender and I think they are the cool guys in bars (Although I haven't gotten in to one honestly - just in the books). They mix drinks, do flares, talk to different people who had different stories with them.
Chase. I like the name. Also his eyes - green like his last name. Your typical perfect guy. Model, chiseled abs and muscles, hockey player, good looking hair and smoldering eyes. But I wasn't expecting his background story. That is the one that separates him from those typical book boyfriends. He wasn't the typical I-have-lots-of-money-so-I'll-have-you guy. He's simple, with a dream.
What I don't like is that the ending. It was a bit compressed at the end. But all in all I love it.
Good reads won't allow a .5 addition to ratings. I rate this:
Love Broken by J.D. Hollyfield was such a nice surprise. It was funny, had great characters and had me laughing so much. I loved this story and devoured it as quickly as I could!
Katie Beller wrote this book, that somehow became a sensation. You see, she thought love was stupid. So, she wrote a book, under the name Bailey Swan, where she swore love was all a farce and she stood by that. Until she met a man that threw all her advice right back at her.
Charlie Bates was a great character. I loved him! He was so much fun, strong and determined. An NFL player that models during his off season. As part of this, he attends author signings and it is hilarious some of the situations he finds himself in!
Katie has not had much luck in the romance department, hence the book she wrote. Now her book is seen as the revolution on broken love. The last thing she expects is to meet the man that will make her question everything she wrote about! When the two meet at an author event, the hijinks start! They have an instant connection, but she has a role to play and he is the sexy, single model.
I loved this author’s writing, her characters and her story so much. A book about an author, who attends a signing and meets and falls for a cover model. What more could readers ask for? But what you get is a fun, sexy and very entertaining story.
4.5 stars! Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Love Broken is one of those books that makes you yearn for more in every book you read. The take on our beloved book world was more than entertaining. The characters are not what they first seem. The story is beautiful, twisted, and thought-out.
“I’m strung tight in a trap of emotions I’m not used to. I’ve been living the motto that the only thing in life that matters, the only steps I take that are important, are the ones I do myself.”
Bella/Katie is a special character. We get the stubborn and anti love heroines all the time. It isn’t new. However, none of those characters write a whole book displaying how love is broken, not to pit women against men, but to make women demand more of the men they love. Her desire to help other women despite her having given up on finding love herself is the kind of selfless I love.
“You just make me the kind of happy that I don’t know how to explain.”
Charlie/Chase is, at first, your typical “more than meets the eye” kind of character, but I promise he is more. He is confident in bed and sweet outside of it (I mean... no surprise there but it is more than that). What sets him apart for me is his persistence and his declarations. The lengths he goes through out this book are inspiring, lovesick, hopeful, and determined. He never really gives up on her. She is always his end game no matter the game she plays. The words he speaks are like no other character before him. He is eloquent but so convincingly straight from the heart it is hard to believe it is fictional.
In short, watching these characters find how love really works and feels was a fascinating ride I never wanted to end.
I have really come to love Hollyfield’s books fast. I love being in stitches one paragraph and fanning myself in the next. Sprinkle in the romance/grand gestures and you have some of the best “RomCom” in the book business.
Cute, quirky and smoking hot, just like we've come to expect from JD Hollyfield.
Katie Beller stumbled into stardom. Hearing the heartbreak and woes of the average woman looking for love night after night as a bartender, she sits down to pen a letter to women everywhere, under a pseudonym of course. Call it a crash course on the farce of eveasting love, He's Just Not That Into You style. She's an overnight sensation, with no clue what to do about it. Reluctant star, she attends a major author event, run by her best friend (if you've never been to one, they are crazy...crazy overwhelming and crazy fun). She feels like a fraud hiding but her fans are relentless, so she plays along.
In between drinking herself silly and hiding from everyone, she meets all kinds of people, including cover model Charlie Bates. He's exactly the type of man she avoids, gorgeous, witty and in her opinion, utterly fake. Good thing she's an expert on love and completely immune to his (considerable) charms.
Katie was great but Bates was amazeballs, y'all. I adored this guy. He's super hot, crazy funny, ridiculously sweet and has not a single ounce of quit in him. He's precious. Boy, does he have his work cut out with him with Katie. She's fierce and snippy, hiding a whole lot of fragile. Love Broken dishes out a dose of angst, with a bunch of cute, sweet and sexy!
Love Broken was a fun foray into the book world I love and I devoured it in one sitting. A perfect afternoon snack.
Sometimes you read a book that makes you grin almost the entire time. Love Broken was that book for me. JD Hollyfield delivers a witty relevant romantic comedy, filled with plenty of alcohol, bad decisions, book signings, and a seriously funny hot dude, named Chase Green.
I love so much about this book! I love that the heroine is from Cleveland and that she wrote a book about a woman named Abby! I love that there are book signings and models, and drinking and debauchery. I love that Katie is an indie author who hates social media, is happy with tending bar, and has a crazy bird (literally).
Beyond the JD Holyfield wild side, this book offers redemption, forgiveness, and that all-important happily ever after. If you want to swoon, laugh, smile, and even blush, pick up this romcom!
I love starting a new J.D. Hollyfield book, I always know that it'll be a super fun read. She doesn't disappoint with this one either. It was funny, sexy, full of the feels, and sweet. I loved that both Katie and Chase's insecurities were relatable, and their love for one another wasn't perfectly packaged and tied up with a neat little bow.
Like other books from J.D. Hollyfield this book, has some silly moments as well as moments that were so silly I cringed. But I love it that her characters are quirky, crazy, funny, and lovable. You've got to get your copy now because you don't want to miss out on this one!
OMG This book has all the feels. It is the broken story of Katie (Bailey Swan) and Chase (Charlie Bates). Katie is a bartender who writes a book about broken love. She has been on her own for so long, and watching and listing the customers of her bar, she is very jaded to love. Chase is a hockey player who moonlights as a cover model for romance novels. He is also has issues that has made him jaded. This book made me thing, cry. And of course since its Jessica, laughing a lot. The banter and chemistry between the two is off the charts and smokin hot. This is a definite must read
I've never read a more wordy hero that says exactly all the perfect things. I've never read a more in their head character as the heroine who was so stubborn she completely disconnected from the world and moved across the country to avoid a conversation.
While this book was executed well and was decently written, it was ... predictable. I found myself bored and guessing what would happen next.
It wasn't awful. It wasn't excellent. It kind of just was.
JD Hollyfield can definitely gut you with a book. This book is all about everything wrong with love. All the doubts, insecurities, and suspicions that can drown you; until you find that one in a million that makes all of those feelings seem small when you compare them to the happiness you feel. Katie is a new author who never planned on being an author and made her name by picking apart everything wrong with love. While on a book tour she meets a Chase who has her doubting all of those feelings even though she fights it. But what happens when mr. perfect isn’t so perfect? Can he show her that they are worth fighting for? This is a book that you definitely don’t want to miss. It will have to tied up and feeling everything with these characters. But every single emotion you feel will be worth it in end!
God D*&n it!!! This author had me by "balls" by the end of this book. I go in thinking, laughter, hilarity, ridiculousness, fun, all known from other books by this author. Oh, and it sure does start off that way. Then BOOM, I'm crying enough tears to fill the freaking Mississippi River and overflow it!! I was late for every obligation I had that day to make sure I finished it and could gather my thoughts and emotions and put them back together. What a great story development that showed the realness of the book industry from the eyes of someone who didn't want anything to do with it, but found herself nose deep in it. Chase and Katie were the greatest couple!!!
I was hooked on this story by the first chapter right till the end if the book. I devoured this in a fee days. Ms Hollyfield has done a great job writing this book. I fell in love with Bailey! I volunteered to read a copy of this book
I'm just going to assume the author had Anna Kendrick in mind as the main character because...
The pretty, awkward, small, sarcastic, funny, adverse to being happy, constantly deflecting shtick is alllll Kendrick characters.
Anyways, this read was okay. I had a few issues.
-Katie was seriously annoying and funny at the same time so being inside her head for 90% of this book was both torture and amusing. She had some great lines but man was she stubborn and talked and talked and talked some more. By the end I was skimming.
- The lack of using condoms without any explanation in the beginning caused me undue stress and I spent over 50% of this wondering if she was going to end up pregnant because, that happens you know. Anyways, she finally said that she was on the pill and I was 'phew!' Especially since I had my doubts about chase until like 70% of this book, which brings me to my next point...
-Chase was seriously shady in the beginning with lying about who was in his apartment and not answering his phone. I was ready to switch to team Dex.
-The chemistry between Katie and Chase was there, I just wish there were more scenes where the characters actually talked. We were TOLD that they had deep heart to heart conversations, but it didn't really come across like that.
-Actually, I think this book would have been a lot more effective if it had been duel POVs because a)I wouldn't have to put up with the main character complaining about love for the 100th time and b) I would get Chase's story (which was more interesting of the two tbh) and I wouldn't have spent half the book doubting him as a good person.
-This would be the perfect Rom Com Netflix movie starring Anna Kendrick because it's a fairly simple plot and when you are not stuck in the main characters head, it's actually pretty cute. Predictable, but cute.
Such a beautiful broken love story. I just loved the entire thing. Every fairytale has some bumps and imperfections and sometimes it takes a while to work through that drama. But some of the best soul binding, deepest loves come from these obstacles thrown at us. What a strong message about giving up too easily. In Katie and Chase’s case...they both needed to get past their fears of finding true love. I found myself smiling, crying, cringing and finally laughing reading this story. Both Katie and Chase were such likeable characters. I really could empathize with what they were both going through. A wonderfully emotional story.

Katie Beller has become a reluctant icon for relationships that were broken and women empowerment. She truly believes love is fake and broken. Then she met Charlie Bates. He drives her up the wall. He’s pure temptation and begins to make her wonder if what she believes is true. Or perhaps the only thing broken is herself.
“I’ve had boyfriends, one-night stands, and offers, but none were it. The it. The one you know has forever written all over him.
I’ve just come to the conclusion that I’m love broken.”

I love a good comedy romance and this one was so completely endearing. I really didn’t want the story to end. But I did want Katie to find love for herself. It was just a crazy, emotional read that really had me rooting for love to win.
I always know I’m in for a great ride when I begin a JD Hollyfield rom-com, and she did not disappoint this time. Love Broken took us inside a romance author’s world. I loved that Katie Beller, or Bailey Swan as her fans know her, is just a regular, everyday woman. A bartender from Ohio who just happened to write a book that took off. She not pretentious, she doesn’t see her attractiveness. She is loved as much by her bar patrons as she is by the women who have read her book. Chase Green, better known as the ultimate romance book cover model Charlie Bates, is much more than a pretty face. Even though he puts on the player facade, he is looking for more. He is trying to move beyond mistakes from his past and make a life of himself. The situations these two find themselves in will have you cracking up. I loved every minute of this story, and was cheering them on to their happily ever after. This book left me wanting so much more at the end.
