Thirty years of marriage to the same man. An illicit proposition by an attractive stranger. Which would you choose if you were tempted?
Taking care of her husband’s every need while putting her own aside, Jane Sims’ life seems picture-perfect. There’s just one problem. She’s desperately unhappy. A chance encounter with a total stranger changes how Jane looks at her marriage, her life, and herself.
Flattered when the charismatic man flirts with her, she quickly dismisses him. When they run into each again, a casual conversation over coffee leads her to fantasize about more than talking. Convinced her husband no longer finds her attractive, she considers accepting the man’s proposal of a liaison, oblivious to the fact that her choice will affect not only her life but the lives of those around her. As the temptation to take a lover grows, her world spirals down around her, threatening to obliterate relationships that have taken years to develop.
Is a moment or two of passion worth ruining the life she’s worked so hard to create?
Desire. Deception. Tempted.

It wasn’t until later in life that Kristine Raymond figured out what she wanted to be when she grew up, an epiphany that occurred in 2013 when she sat down and began writing her first novel. Over a dozen books in multiple genres later, there are a multitude of ideas floating around in her head thus assuring she’ll never be idle.
When a spare moment does present itself, she fills it by navigating the publishing and promotional side of the business. When not doing that, she spends time with her husband and furbabies (not necessarily in that order) at their home in south-central Kentucky, gardens, reads, or binge-watches Netflix.

Unlike anything that she has written before! Ms. Raymond is one of my go-to Authors. One that no matter what or when she publishes, I gnab it, regardless of what else is going on in life. This book is unlike anything else that she has written. You may be a bit shocked this time around, but it is a good type of shock, in my opinion. This is a very well written story. The characters were intriguing and kept me interested throughout. The ending was not what I expected, but I wasn't disappointed. Definitely a recommended read, as I recommend anything and everything that Ms. Raymond writes!
I loved this book, but what a mixed bag of emotions I experienced reading it. My feelings towards Jane changed from page to page and at times I had to take a break to gather my thoughts, but I couldn't help thinking she had done all she could, while my frustrations towards Roger grew. I had so many questions about marriage and relationships reading this book. While attempting not to be judgemental, I tried to see things from both points of view, realising we never really know what goes on behind closed doors. I thought I knew how the Epilougue would go......boy was I wrong!!! A brilliant twist to a very thought provoking story. Highly recommended?
Jane is 48 and married for almost 30 years to Roger, 50. He no longer treats her with respect, sex is non-existent, and he works long hours, but ignores her when he is at home. That does not justify her cheating. Nor does this story try to. It is more of an exploration of what happens when Jane cheats, the consequences, and the fallout. This is also an erotic story, which means the sex scenes are explicit.
If it was just done to offer sexy scenes and to detail her affair, I would not have finished this. However, I found that while I disagreed with Jane's decision, I could definitely see why she was tempted. Also, despite many warnings about the guy she cheated with, she continued anyway. I found myself fascinated to find out how it would all turn out. I have read a couple of similar books with different results, at least one was tragic. So this could have gone any number of ways, but I do appreciate that under all of Jane's excuses and wanton behavior at some point she did take responsibility and looked at herself , her decision, her marriage, and her life.
While she is not a truly likable character, I found myself hoping that things would somehow work for her because I did not find Roger blameless nor to be a victim. I thought that he was a jerk who was not willing to work on the marriage nor meet her halfway. So it was a matter of two characters who showed what happens after 30 years of marriage when the couple grows apart.
What really got me was Jane's decision at the end, the aftermath of it, and the twist that I did not see coming, but that satisfied my rooting for Jane.
This is not my typical read, but it felt like a women's fiction where the focus was on her and her decisions, and not on him or the romance.

Tempted by Kristine Raymond is not your typical romance. It is the story of Jane Simms, a 48-year-old wife, and mother of two grown children. The story is told from her POV, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading her journey of desire, regret, lust, and growth. I was completely enthralled from the very first page and read it in one sitting!
It was refreshing to read a story with a 48-year-old female character. Most romance stories are written with the characters in their 20’s or 30’s. As a wife and mother in her 40’s, I could relate to many aspects of the story. I hope that there will be a second book! I would love to find out what happens to Jane.
Tempted is the first book I have read by Ms. Raymond. I found it to be a quick read, as I finished in a day.
I found all the characters to be relatable. Jane, the housewife, is being ignored physically, mentally and sexually by her husband. She is trying her best to spice up the marriage. Does she succeed or does she get tempted?
Roger, the husband, is busy working all the time and shows no love or affection to Jane anymore. He is really working all those late hours or he is being tempted?
And of course, Derek, the man with temptation written all over him!
One of things I enjoyed most about this book was that the characters are in their 40’s. This was a nice and refreshing change of pace to the “younger” characters that I have read lately. I do have to admit, that I didn’t see that ending coming! One click today to found out how this little story plays out.
This is not your typical book. Not your romance,, but a book of a women that is middled age and lost in life. At first I was like what I am reading, but I stuck with it and ended up rooting for her. Trying to rediscover yourself, bring back some of that romance and then being "tempted" and following through with temptation can changes her world. But sometimes, things happen for a reason, weather good or bad.
This is a short, fast paced story that will leave your shocked and stunned and a OMG. So we well done, so worth the quick read.
Tempted...does she take a bite of the forbidden apple? This book is about a tough subject matter, cheating. I don’t usually read books that include it as I have fairly strong views. However, while I can’t agree with the concept I found the author managed to portray the circumstances in a way where at times I felt sympathetic towards Jane. Possibly due to being married for 35 yrs myself, I have gone from a wife and mother to an empty nester. Your priorities change and it can be a lonely and unfulfilling time. The consequences and loss of self respect from cheating are too high to risk.
This started off with a bang. The life described within could be so many of us in life. It was realistic, and fantasy all wrapped together and in just the right moment clarity found. It was a nice reminder to have that we are never to old to reinvent ourselves no matter how routine life has become. Kristine this journey has just begun and thank you for sharing it with your readers. I look forward to what comes next.
Tempted is outside of the normal genre that I read but I enjoyed it. It was well-written, steamy and had a great message of redemption and healing. At some points I wanted to scream at the main characters but was happy with the conclusion of the story and seeing how the MC grew as a result of her bad choices. I look forward to reading more by Kristine Raymond.
This book really had my emotions all over the place, feeling sad and disillusioned for Jane as her life starts to spiral out of control and annoyed with Rodger and his continued dismissive attitude towards Jane. I could totally understand her loneliness. I really enjoyed this story and the twists that came with all the heartbreak.
Nicely done and great to see more of the ‘middle aged’ people in a storyline. We may be older but not dead!! I feel there needs to be more stories like these to acknowledge older people in relationships with sex, erotica & forbidden encounters.
I have read every book that Kristine has written. I feel like a character in the novels. Kristine brings her books to life. Looking forward to book 15.
Oh this was so different than my usual reads. I am so glad I read it, so true to life for many people.it draws you in and moves through so many emotions. Love, betrayal, and pain. The ending just makes the story come full circle.
