Betrayed, Banished, Bothered?

Since inheriting the link to the main source of warlock magic, the bounty on my head has quadrupled. If I don’t find a way to disconnect from the powerful source, the warlocks will hunt me down.

Banished to the city of Edinburgh for protection, I throw myself into a new case. Magic drugs are on the rise, and the agency is tasked in bringing down the coven responsible for pushing contaminated batches.

But with a powerful witch mob leader protecting our culprit, we may run out of time. In an effort to prevent further deaths, I use my magic... and bring the warlocks back onto my trail. Will I be able to stop the massacre before the warlocks find an excuse to end me for good?

Magically Banished is the fourth book in the Hunted Witch Agency by Rachel Medhurst. This series just seems to get better with each new instalment. Things are getting more and more interesting as things unfold and revelations are made. Ms. Medhurst spins a great tale, sprinkling in surprises and twists along the way. The ‘mysteries’ are well thought out and well crafted. In this book Devon finds herself in Edinburgh, Scotland- as her safety is at stake. But that won’t stop her from continuing her investigation into finding whomever is responsible for the contaminated batches of magic drugs. But with a bounty on her head, things are never quite so simple. We also get to learn more about Gerard in this story.

Thank you, Ms. Medhurst!

It's hard to believe that this series just gets better and better!!!! Just when you think that it can't get any more action packed and exciting, that there can't possibly be any more secrets or revelations, BAM!!!! You're hut with more!!!!

This storyline is unbelievably addictive!!!! This is a book that follows on from the previous books so readers will need to read these previous books to comprehend the history that is mentioned in this book and to fully understand the relationships between the characters. I could not stop turning the pages of this book, there is so much action and adventure that it keeps you hooked, this is from the first page. This author is so talented, especially in her descriptions. I was horn in Edinburgh and lived there for 16 years so I know the area on a personal level and the way she was able to describe Edinburgh in this book was spot on!!! I could see and feel myself back home and in my opinion this takes an unbelievably talented writer.

The characters in this book is just brilliant and I love reading about them, I really don't want this series to end!!! Devon is so amazing to read about, she battles with herself every day and this shows the inner strength that she has, she really doesn't realise what an amazing woman that she is. She always tries to do the best thing even though it sometimes backfires on her but even then she always tries to do the right thing for the safety of others. The other character I have to mention is Mary, I just think she is awesome!!!

I can't rate this highly enough, I love love love this author's books and the way that she writes, if readers have never read her work they really need to!!!!!!

Magically inundated

I started reading this book a little bit ago, but put it down because Devon started getting on my nerves. Up till now, I've been more willing to put up with her selfishness, self-pitying, and immaturity, but I really thought that she would start to mature and grow by now. She has finally gotten a good relationship with Gerard. She has her parents back in her life, but she still seems so woe-is-me that I had to keep putting this book down. If she wants to play as an adult, then she needs to step up and act like one. So why did I give this book 4 stars instead of 3 based on my dislike of Devon's character this time? Well, the other characters really carried the story for me. It was so nice seeing Gerard so happy. Learning so much more about him (that he can sing and dance really well). That he is a man who looks out for his partner both professionally and personally. I liked Mary. She was a spunky woman who has added a few good laughs to this part of the story. The only thing I can ask right now is for Devon to grow up before the next installment. Gerard deserves it, we deserve it, and Devon, herself would be much more kicka~~ if she didn't wallow in pity and selfishness any longer. Please R. Medhurst! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book, and I borrowed this book through the Kindle Unlimited program too.

In Magically Banished we watch Devon's relationship with Gerard blossom and it adds a nice layer to the entire series. They're headed off to Scotland to hang low so Devon can avoid the warlocks, as she has something they are desperately after. But they're not there for a retreat, they're in Edinburgh to figure out where the new drug is coming from that is killing people.
Wrought with twists and the fast-paced action we've come to know from this series, Magically Banished brings more to the table with this series. The fact that there's a true relationship with Devon and Gerard is exactly what we've been waiting for, and it's just as fun as ever. I've grown fond of everyone at The Haunted Witch Agency and I love that they all have their place in each book. I love watching not only Devon grow through each book, but her relationship with each of her co-workers, as they are becoming more like a family. As always in this series, Medhurst leaves you dangling off a cliff of suspense, eagerly awaiting the next installment to find out what more she has in store for us. Magically Banished is another great book in this series that is well-written with edge of your seat excitement, a job well done.

Rachel Medhurst’s Magically Banished is a wonderful urban fantasy tale and a perfect fourth book for her Hunted Witch Agency series. It is easily worth five stars. It had just what I wanted, was well written, with excellent world building and a great plot, it’s lead Devon is a complex and astoundingly well crafted character (and you just know little things like warlocks our to capture her, deadly magic drugs and, oh yeah, growing addiction to her increasing magic won’t stop her. At the same time it’s cast of supporting characters (especially her partner Devon and their complexly wonderful relationship) are simply superb. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, with the caveat that while you could read this standalone you’re much better starting off from book 1 of the series.

This book is easy to highly recommend.

Good read! It moved at a fast pace. I really liked that Gerard and Devon’s relationship continued in this book. It was nice to see them finally acknowledge their feelings for each other in the last book and then in this book make it public.
I feel bad for Devon. She’s still trying to cope with the time she spent in Helena’s presence and now she has all this power that she didn’t ask for. With no real training on how to control it I felt she did a good job trying to not let it go to her head and continue to fight the good fight. The end was a surprise that I didn’t expect. My only complaint is that the story ended so quickly. I didn’t realize that it wasn’t as long as the other books in the series. I got to end was like “oh man, is this really the end? I want more!” I can’t wait for the next book.

Devon is sent to Edinburgh for her own safety, as the warlocks are becoming more persistent in their search for her. She can't keep her head down when she hears drugs infused with magic are killing humans. She and the team realize that the perpetrator has friends in high places in the mob, whose leader is a very powerful witch. The agency has been asked to find the coven responsible for selling tainted batches of magic drugs. All she has to do is find the coven leader, bring him, in if possible... while avoiding warlocks who have a bounty out on her head, if possible...and stop the drug from being distributed before any more people die. Pretty much an average day in the Hunted Witch Agency!
I truly love this series!

I loved this book!!! The series literally keeps getting better with every book and now I'm so sad that it's ending with the 5th book 😭😭 I just really loved seeing Devon start loving herself and trusting herself and her partner emotionally. It was great to also finally see a different side of Gerard as well as he and Devon's dating relationship. It was fun too seeing the story take place outside of London, giving their mission a "spy/undrrcover" feeling, making the story that much more enticing. As with the others, this part of Devon's story with the HWA was action packed and unpredictable, I mean that cliffhanger alone was enough to make me scream with a mixture of joy and frustration when I read that last sentence! Fans of the series will love this installment.

I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this advance reader copy and was not compensated in any way.

Magically Banished is the fourth book in the Hunted Witch Agency Series. This book picks up where Magically Betrayed ended and sends Devon and Gerard on an unexpected trip to Scotland. I really enjoyed seeing Devon in a new setting that allowed her to expand her skills as an agent and make some very important decisions about her life and her magic. Both Devon and Gerard revealed some hidden talents and they both learned a lot about each as individuals and as a couple. I really hate spoilers so am not going to give any but this was a very action packed read that I hated putting down. I am not so patiently waiting for Book 5 to be released.

I received an ARC of this book, the fourth in the Hunted Witch series. I'm not ashamed to admit that I'll be sad when it's all over. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and I'm disappointed to know that there's only one book left.

Devin was a bit less snarky in this installment. I'm sure this has something to do with the way that her relationship with Gerard has blossomed. They really do make a great couple. It seems like Devin is always on the run from something or someone, and Gerard, though respecting her strength as an individual, is always there to protect and support her. In fact, he is willing to endanger his own well-being to look after her.

This installment ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. I'm anxious to find out what happens next, and I fully expect an HEA.

Wo-o-ow. Oh my gosh. And holy sh-moly.
I thought this installment was amazing: Devon and Gerard really grew in their relationship, a new case presented itself and Devon, of course, had to deal with her "magic issues," all of which made for an exciting and continuously intriguing read. As always, there was action, there were twists, there were emotional elements, and there was witty monologue. I love how Ms Medhurst writes Devon's thoughts, it feels like Devon is very self-aware and realistic about her strengths and weaknesses. It makes it easy to see her growth, and to understand why she chooses what she does. I have absolutely no problem rooting for her in every scenario. And what a cliffhanger! Just as the subplot of the Hunted Witch Agency case was wrapping up, bam! A new issue... a huge one... slams us. I simply cannot wait to see how this twist plays out! Oh my gosh!

4.5 stars. Devon Jinx keeps getting closer to the point she can give up her witch & warlock powers - or is she? Handling a new case, she and Gerard are sent to Edinburgh.

Disclaimer: I am personally acquainted with the author.

The characters are engaging, the sexual tension is hot, if not explicit, the Scotsmen are fine, and who doesn't enjoy a good cliffhanger? Re: that, I know some readers hate them, and I'm not usually a fan, myself, but Rachel has managed to finish each book in the series with enough issues resolved that I don't QUITE want to stab her with a letter opener. Looking forward to the final book in this series in a few weeks.

Another wild story about Devon and Gerard. This time they are in Scotland tracing down bad guys and trying to stay ahead of the warlocks because of course Devon is is trouble with them again due to what happened at the end of book 3. For some reason they do not think she will keep her word, I wonder why. Hehehe. Anyways I loved the writing and the story as it made me laugh as usual due to the trouble they always manage to find the the nicknames Devon comes up with. Just a great clean story full of magic and fighting. I was entertained and enjoyed the book.

Devon and Gerard continue to keep us entertained in book 4. But while their relationship is moving in a new direction, Devon continuously has to run or fight to stay alive. If you hate cliff hangers, the book and series are not for you. But if you love adventure, love, magic and a bit of mystery.... then this is perfect. Once again, I literally could not put this book down. I read it cover to celebrate in one sitting!!! That’s how amazing it is!!! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Devon and Gerard in the next book!!!

How does the story go from ending book 3 with Devon learning her grandmother is the mastermind behind the witch slave trade and her parents are alive to book four where Devon and Gerard are in Scotland hunting a magical drug king pin. book four makes mention of Devon defeating her grandmother and obtaining the ability to use ley line magic. But, where is the rest of the story? Disappointing and confusing.. the show down with her grandmother should have been the best part of the series Instead we are hunting drug dealers in Scotland.

There is more of Gerard and Devon together in this book. Love their relationship. He has no problems letting her be lead and just being her backup at times. Trying how to figure out how Devon will drop the link without anything bad happening. Devon did kick some butt with some very impressive magic. Huge cliffhanger on this one. I received an ebook at no charge for which I voluntarily provided an honest review.

I am absolutely loving this series!! Each book just keeps getting better and better. I love Devon and Gerard, their relationship just keeps getting better and better. Unfortunately not everything else is going so great for Devon, with twists and turns and magical action, we soon learn Devon has another hard choice in front of her. I cannot wait to see what will happen in the final book in this series!

This series should have stopped after they defeated her grandmother, the character development hasn’t really gotten any better even though we’re what 5 books in?

Then this new magic drug storyline just seems stupid & I’m sick of hearing about how the female protagonist needs to choose between being a witch or warlock and constantly having people out to kill her. It just feels like the same story over and over again in each book!

Then her love life again is hot & cold.

Just left us hanging!

What a wild ride! It is all coming together, what will Devon do. Will she give it all up for love? Does she really have to? So much power in such a small woman. Everyone is amazed at the power she possesses. Can she walk away or find some kind of balance?

I can’t get enough!

I will say thank goodness I found this series after the next book was already released because this one ends In a freaking cliffhanger. Even if it wasn’t already out and I hate cliffhangers, this book would still get 5 stars because it’s so well written and I just want to stay with Devon and Gerard and the hunted witch agency!

Fantastic book!

Plenty of action and adventure makes the pages of this book fly by far too fast. Devon and Gerard are at it again both in their work and in their relationship. If you have enjoyed the series you will love this book.
