My last deployment was the hardest. I knew exactly what I wanted and how to get it. Until my future was almost taken away.
One simple request – stay safe – haunted me day and night. It was a promise that I couldn’t keep and when I returned home, I was ready to confess my secrets.
But secrets weren’t the only obstacle Cami and I had to overcome. Our love, trust and faith in each other was tested forcing us to realize that before we could have a future, we needed to confront our past.

I was first indoctrinated into the romance genre by my babysitter who watched hours upon hours of daytime soap operas. I harbored many inappropriate crushes on fictional characters such as John Black from “Days of Our Lives,” Orry Main from the min-series “North & South,” and Edward Fairfax Rochester from Jane Eyre. I am still in love with Davy Jones from The Monkees.

I currently live in the Southwest with my husband, tiny four-year-old terror, and a tuxedo cat with a limp. When I'm not swooning over book boyfriends or dreaming up romances, I can be found educating the youth of America. Or eating tacos

I just finished the conclusion to Cami and Garrett’s story, Just Like Love. And I loved every minute of this book. It was so well done you just didn’t want to put it down.

We knew Garrett’s deployment was going to be hard on Cami, but we didn’t realize how hard it was going to be on Garrett to.
After a harrowing time overseas Garrett arrives home and the real work begins. They knew there would be an adjustment to being back together after a year apart, but they never expected it to be this tough.

After some time things start to become easier for the couple but when they decide to make a big life change they weren’t banking on the flack they would get from family and friends. But they persevere and decide to make their dream come true no matter the obstacles in their way.

After a friend tries to ruin Cami and Garrett it brings family back together and heals old wounds. And it paves the way for Garrett and Cami to get their long awaited HEA.

The conclusion to Cami and Garrett's story is finally here. And this book is better than the first in that we get everything as so much more in Just Like Love. We are taken on this emotional roller coaster ride of Cami and Garrett being separated because of his deployment, then both of them battling their personal secrets, and moving forward with their lives but coming across obstacles every step of the way. Rebecca Gallo does a wonderful job of sharing their story and making the reader feel everything that the characters are going through from the happy times, to the sad and unbelievable times to absolutely well-deserved ending.

Part 2 and the conclusion of Cami and Garrett's story.

There were parts of the story I liked but there were parts I didn't really connect with.
Garrett is MIA when the book starts so the couple are separate.
Garret is a jealous possessive Hero type but he also has his faults. He makes mistakes, some decisions that are unwise or hasty and I liked that he wasn't perfect.
The heroine was a bit of a doormat at times, supportive but I felt there was a bit of blind faith esp were money was concerned.
I didn't like that there seemed to be endless supplies of money available for investment from trust funds etc, the Hero did say no but we were talking millions, just felt it made the story a bit out of touch with 'the little people'.

The story took a direction I wasn't expecting for example....
Palmer, for me his issues didnt work, in book 1 he loved Cami and I thought it was fair enough he got worse with his jealously etc but it seemed a bit OTT.

Also they forgave what he did. He set up basically Garrett to be raped by Nikki, she got off Scott free and he was forgiven when he died, even going to his funeral. I dunno I would have found it very hard to offer that sort of support after the sexual abuse he planned even if he was acting on a traumatised revenge plot.

Also Palmer was saying wasn't worthy but he still thought he could offer Cami something. I just couldn't connect.

Also the fact about the date rape drug, I thought for sure it could be found in your blood stream, surely you'd have had the test in case, until you had the test you wouldn't know which drug had been used and that would affect whether it was detectable in the blood stream.

How did Nikki get hold of the drug? Is it readily available for anyone to just get hold of.
I was enjoying the book up to that point but the plot for me became a bit unbelievable.
No cheating.
No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine, there are vague details of some photographs of Nikki basically sexually assaulting an unconscious, drugged Garrett but he would never have participated in anything with anyone else.

Breadcrumbs dropped for future books in series possibly.

This was the perfect Veterans weekend read... a story about Garrett, who’s been overseas for the last year and is finally able to return home to the waiting arms of Cami. The deployment was so hard on both of them but particularly rough on Cami’s mental state and her heart. Garrett and Cami definitely have some stuff to work through. I haven’t grown up knowing many people in the military, my nieces husband is stationed in Japan and they are currently living there together, and my stepfather was in the military when he was younger... before I knew him. That all being said, I feel like Rebecca Gallo portrayed what it would be like during deployment and the return. It seems like the return and adjustment would be the hardest for the veteran and his/her loved ones.

This story was so gorgeous; it felt so real and relatable. These two struggled and even though they had some issues with family and friends and it really strengthens their bond and they are able to lean on each other. This duet is the first books I’ve read written by Rebecca Gallo and I really enjoyed the story and characters. It was so full of emotion and heart. The characters were so likable, and they really seemed like real people that I would befriend. Gallo’s writing flows and really pulled me in. Just an FYI, this is the conclusion to Just Like This and cannot be read without reading Just Like This beforehand.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

Part two of an epic love story picks up with Garrett lost and in pain. Just the thought of Cami is keeping him alive on this deployment to hell. Cami has her own demons haunting her night and day. The one friend who she thinks she can depend on betrays her relationship.
“I think I lost him the moment I laid eyes on you.”
Oh Garrett and Cami go through the wringer as only a vet couple can. He returns from a war zone battered and beaten but his devotion for Cami doesn’t waiver. She needs to let go of the hurt in her past to move on and love. It has all the feelings of a couple written well. Well done Ms Gallo!
This novel is the second in a duet and can’t be read as a stand-alone, Just Like This is part one. The duet has hea when read as a whole. I received an arc of this book.

They thought his deployment would be hard but they had no.idea what was in store when he returned.
Cami and Garret both had tough individual experiences while he was deployed. I really liked how they stood together to face whatever obstacles came their way.

I had been on pins and needles waiting for this book. What a cliffhanger book one left me on! This is not a standalone. If you haven't read book 1 go now!
This book gave me the answers I wanted and the outcome I wanted and at the same time it didn't. I wanted there to be just a sweet happily ever after. But this book is so raw and real. It is just like life. Nothing is perfect. That's what made this book so good. It really spoke to the reality of relationships. And I loved that the author showed what our veterans face when they come home. Yes they are out of physical combat but it's still going on in their hearts and souls. That is something that I truly believe needs more notice. I fell in love all over again with Garrett and Cami's love for each other. They both have gone through so much. They had to learn that what they needed was each other. When they were afraid to be fully honest with each other I just wanted to jump into this book and shake them. This story became so much more than I had expected. A truly beautifully heartbreaking and heart building story.

Soooo good!!

This was such an emotional story from the first book all the way through this one. Can I and Garret’s story was such a whirlwind of love and pain and incredible struggles. But love through it all. There was some REALLY big challenges along the way, but their love and ultimate honesty got them through them. A beautiful and very emotional love story. Might want to have some tissues handy...

Tangled Webs

This is the end of Garrett and Cami's love story. Many subplots kept this reader interested. The ending was not what I was expecting. But it was a great happily ever after.

Fav Quote:
“"Are you dying?” The question was odd and blunt, but honestly, I never thought my father would ever say anything close to what he’ just told me. . My father chuckled. “No, Garrett. I’m just getting old.... "

Cami and Garrett are reunited after his deployment is over, but instead of the happily ever after they were expecting, they each have secrets and problems that they need to deal.with.
