I found so many appealing recipes for a variety of foods that I could easily have a buffet now. Why wait for the holidays when there’s so much good food to be had?! Sprinkled throughout are Holiday Helper tips and tricks, season inspired crafts, and a few holiday specific and visually impressive foods such as the Santa Deviled Eggs, Christmas Star Twisted Bread, Elf Cupcakes, or Reindeer Rolls. Wrapping it all up is a chapter on gifts from the kitchen, a bonus chapter with Thanksgiving recipes, and a recipe index.
Just to whet your appetite, I’ll list a few of the dishes that caught my eye: Butternut-Gouda Pot Stickers, Chocolate Crepes with Raspberry Sauce, Pear-Stuffed French Toast with Brie, Cranberries, & Pecans, Risotto with Chicken & Mushrooms, Chocolate-Cherry Thumbprint Cookies, Spiked Eggnog Bread Pudding, and Pear Cider. With so many delicious dishes waiting to be sampled, I can’t possibly wait until the holidays! I really enjoyed this collection of tempting treats and more, and I really look forward to treating myself early this year!
This one didn't have as much to tempt me as the previous Taste of Home Christmas Cookbook, but it's still a fun read with plenty of delicious-sounding recipes and easy crafts, if you're into that sort of thing.
May update rating once I've tried a few recipes. The coconut shortbread is calling my name...
