It’s an actual fact—Uncle John is the most entertaining thing in the bathroom!
Uncle John and his team of devoted researchers are back again with an all-new collection of weird news stories, odd historical events, dubious “scientific” theories, jaw-dropping lists, and more. This entertaining 31st anniversary edition contains 512 pages of all-new articles that will appeal to readers everywhere. Pop culture, history, dumb crooks, and other actual and factual tidbits are packed onto every page of this book. Inside, you’ll find . . . And much more!
Another year and another well done and entertaining book from the Uncle John’s writers. The little facts at the bottom of the page were just as interesting as the articles. Want to know about Pluto and the planet controversy? It’s here. Quotes. Horse jokes. Old Time Radio Shows. Millenial Slang. Lifestyle Hacks. It’s all here. A neccessary addition to the series.
The Uncle John Bathroom Reader series is a safe bet. They came up with a format that works well for trivia books with segments of varying lengths so you can pick and choose what to read to fit the time you have. The table of contents breaks the segments up into different general categories and lengths to ease in this picking. The downside is that it can become difficult in remembering what you haven't read already or in just finding one that you haven't read yet. Usually I would jump around until I started spending more time to find an unread story that I just start reading from the front and hitting them all to make sure I have read them all. This time, I just read it like a normal book. It just seemed easier.
Like always, the topics were of varying interest to me (ranging from wow to whatever). It all boils down to if you like trivia, you should enjoy this series. If you enjoyed previous installments of the series, you should have the same reaction to this one.
I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway, and am just now getting around to reviewing it. I used to have a version of Uncle John's Bathroom Reader when I was a kid, although now I have no idea who gave it to me and why. But I remember reading through it and finding all sorts of ridiculous and entertaining facts, and such was the case again with this 31st edition of the book series. My former enthusiasm about learning weird things waned slightly in this version, simply because I wasn't interested in some of the longer entries in this book, but I can certainly recognize that the Bathroom Readers Institute has done a ton of research to include all sorts of silly historical, scientific and pop culture facts. For that reason, it was still a fun book to read, a little bit at a time, to find some cool new information.
As always, another great book from our dear uncle John! All new and amazing trivia, facts, and humor! I looked forward to each of these as they came out in the past, and await each new one . Bottoms up!
As always, an excellent new addition to the Bathroom Reader library, courtesy of Uncle John! Trivia and humour abound that come together to make this book one of the best things to read while on the can.
I always have a fun time with these books. I get the latest every year as a Christmas present from my amazing wife. This one didn't disappoint. I always wish some of the stories would be made into novels or films. I'd love to find out if the Dooners or Uppers win the ba' this year.
