I thought this story had protentional. I will not deny that the sex scenes did keep you continuing to read the outcome of the plot. But then there were a lot of inconsistency in the story. Specifically a certain chapter in the book. I thought maybe I might have had a bad copy of the novel. But I have found out by other reviewers that they had the same copy. It was horrible. Basically they copied & pasted the entire scene from lover number one to lover number two. When I read it I thought maybe it was because Mike her husband had been stalking her prior to their relationship. Since he was so jealous of Joshua. But that wasn't the case.
Going to Joshua's back story, he met Caroline on a volunteer humanitarian adventure in Africa. His character is known for his causes. But unfortunately, his company is now in a scandal that could cause him to go to prison. He is linked to dumping hazard waste in the ocean. Something that his character would never do. Joshua has to focus on the legal matters & relay on his CEO to get him out of this mess & find out who is responsible for this environmental nightmare. His friend Kyle has told him to go to Africa & lie low & do some good in the world. Which is where he meets Caroline.
Caroline is a new designer but has been in Africa as a volunteer in the hospital for the summer before she start her on line. She meets Joshua & they have a passionate affair until she hears about what his company has done. First she doesn't believe him. But then gives into their desires. She knows she is falling for Joshua but knows that she will have to leave soon.
Which is what happens when she lets him know she is going back to the states. Joshua doesn't know what to do but expect her choices & lets her go.
Until they meet again months later at the AIDS gala. He convinces her to go to Paris. But she has been dating another man when she came back to the states. Who she believed truly loved her & cherished her. But when Joshua couldn't make a commitment because he was dealing with the trial. She decided she had to leave him. She decided to fall in love with Mike. Even though she still had strong emotional ties to Joshua. But when Mike proposed, Caroline excepted even though they had not been together for a long period of time. Caroline believed this would help her forget about Joshua.
Unfortunately, after they got engaged & seeing Joshua on the news being acquitted from the scandal. She found out Mike couldn't stand Joshua & believed he was just another millionaire who could get away with anything. When Caroline asked why he was so resentful toward him. Mike just said he didn't like his type. That is when Caroline decided she had to come clean about the fact that she had a relationship with Joshua. From that day forward, Mike & Caroline's relationship was never the same.
He became completely Jealous, asking questions about her relationship with Joshua. She kept telling him it was in the past, She loved him & was committed to him. Unfortunately, Caroline wanted so much to be put first in a man's life she didn't see the signs of Mike's insecurities. It bled thru the relationship & into their marriage.
She met up with Joshua three times during a two year period. He tried to stop the wedding, but even with Caroline's doubts she went thru with the marriage. Then Mike's character changed.
As the reader, I was worried that they were going to have be physically abusive to Caroline. Instead they had Mike be verbally & emotionally abusive. Even after they had a child together. Maybe his jealousy was warranted consider the three different times she met her past lover. Feelings stirred up inside. If you're a fan of Joshua then you'll love this story. I did appreciate the person she would end up with. But the plot seemed incomplete & didn't bring any closure to Caroline's marriage.
She goes to the first public event since the birth of their child with her husband. Mike unfortunately insults Joshua & abandons her at the gala. That is when Joshua swoops in & gets the woman he loves back.
You never know what Mike does, on the nights he doesn't come home. He constantly comes back to apologize for his behavior by bringing her a gift. The only good thing about the female lead is that she has had enough! Caroline comes home & tells her husband, she is done! Their marriage is over & probably was doomed from the beginning . She was committed & loved Mike but his jealously destroyed their relationship.
What happens, to her relationship with Mike? Does he just not have a relationship with his daughter Bella. For a man so jealous of another man. He is going to let that man raise her daughter? Why couldn't we have an ending where we have Joshua & Caroline have a wedding of their own. The only scene we have is her dreaming of a wedding before Caroline weds another man.
Read the book & have your own interpretation of the plot. But it doesn't feel complete, plus the editing & mistakes in characters printed in different stops just seems to make you believe this story was written fast.

So, I guess I got to read the whole book. The first part is in Joshua's POV. The author says the same thing over and over again yet you still don't get to the point. Don't bother wondering who ordered the dumping and what happens to them, you never get the answer.
The second part of the book is in her POV and turns into an absentee love triangle as Joshua is out of the picture for months at a time. The new man is super jealous and causes problems for no reason.
Now the story line isn't bad, it had potential. unfortunately the author and editors didn't do a good job. put it this way. the entirety of chapter 17 is a copy and paste of a scene with Joshua in Paris, only they changed Joshua's name to Mike (only they missed a few) and say it happens after she tells Mike she is pregnant. I mean come on.

I was debating on reading this book. Once I started it, it took off kinda slow but once I really got into it I didnt want to put it down. Joshua tried to tell Caroline that she was making a mistake and in the end she did. I would like to know what will happen with there relationship. The cliff hanger is who was trying to ruin Joshua's company.

I enjoyed reading the book and the story line but I could almost tell what was coming next. The ending was a cliff hanger with no continue on. I want to know what happens next and give it some excitement. This one was good but it was dry.

Glad I didn’t have to pay for this book. It could have been better on so many levels.

Just not developed. Dragged on for too long in each section. No actual umph to it that drew me in. I had to try and not skip sections, eventually after 2 attempts gave up and haven't finished it.
