Adorable

If a fast paced story featuring a charming reformed playboy cop, a soft-hearted social worker, a sweet boy, and K-9 German Shepherd sounds like your kind of story, then check out this novella in the Lawkeepers series. It’s a quick, light read that has plenty of happy, though it’s not all superficial gloss. There’s plenty of reality and depth packed into its relatively few pages. I liked that while Aiden had initially fallen away, he found his way back to Christ genuinely. Her message was clear, but gentle. Not sure I’ve read this author before, but I’m glad to find new stories to explore from this series! I’ll definitely be looking into her upcoming Clear Mountain books.

Lawfully Adored by Jenna Brandt is a Christian contemporary romance surrounding the K-9 unit and social work.
Both areas of work care for people. They put others first. Their jobs mean their hearts are on the line. It is almost impossible not to become involved in the lives of others. They are both vocational careers.
There is a wonderful bond between the K-9 handler and his dog. They are a team.
The search and rescue in the story can be seen as a motif for God. He searches for each one of us and rescues us from our situations to bring us home to Him. The novel shares Biblical insights from God. His eyes are on us all.
Themes of fostering, adoption, miscarriage and infertility are all within the tale. There is a darling little boy who just warmed my heart.
I really enjoyed Lawfully Adored and read it in just one sitting. A great little read.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

If two people were ever meant for each other it is Aiden and Lindsay. Both give their time to caring for and helping people. Aiden is an officer that works with the K-9's on search and rescuer. Healing from a broken heart he is not looking for a new attachment. Lindsey is a social worker who helps displaced children find homes and is still working through some issues from her past. The two had run into each other but never really connected until they are searching for a missing child. They finally go out on a date but things do not go as planned. Can the two find love together or are old hurts always to come between them? With God's help and guidance, anything is possible. A beautifully written story guaranteed to warm your heart.

WORTH A SECOND CHANCE

I enjoyed this clean Christian based story that is an addition to the contemporary Lawkeepers series and also one of the K-9 stories. There is a great cast of characters along with two special people and some of their personal issues that will become involved in a relationship. This story has strong Christian principles and faith in God.

Officer Aiden O'Connell joined the Clear Mountain, Colorado police force, along with his K-9, Cooper. He is the second K-9 team that also works with search and rescue; the first time is Zach and his K-9, Harley. Aiden needed a new location after his fiancé left him for another police officer, one with a better rank. He is over the women who are nothing more than badge bunnies. After the death of his parents when he was in college, Aiden turned away from God and the Christian upbringing he was raised with.

Social worker, Lindsay Wright wants to make a difference for children. She knows that they are usually victims of circumstances beyond their control and need a voice to speak of for them. She has poured herself into her job since the breakup with her boyfriend over a medical condition that the doctors have told her will prevent her from carrying a baby to term.

The story shows the lives of both the K-9 officers and their dogs on multiple search and rescue calls and how they usually can make a difference. It also shows the work that Lindsay encounters as a social worker and the children she assists.

Not once, or twice, but several times Aiden and Lindsay have run into each other, and while they seemed to like each other during the brief encounters, nothing seems to happen. Lindsay is wearing a ring on her left-hand ring finger, does that mean she is married? What happens when Aiden casually ask her about her son, Alex, or her husband? Is that the opening for a date?

“She wondered if she had finally just had her serendipitous moment?”

When he finally asks her out, could it go any more wrong than it does? Barely into the date, she will ask him to take her home. She is so disillusioned with men and their shallowness. God works in mysterious ways and through the new series of sermons at church that Lindsay and her roommate, Erica attend. What happens with Aiden shows up at church and ask for another chance? Can she trust him and allow that to happen? Will this be what it takes for Aiden to turn back to God?

Both Aiden and Lindsay have a past with family issues and also with people they dated. As they get to know each other better, can they see a chance for a future? When a little boy, Alex, that Lindsay has a soft spot in her heart tries to contact her and then can’t be found, she turns to Aiden for help. Together they learn to lean on each other and trust in God.

“Nothing is wrong with wishing for something, because sometimes wishes do come true.”

Together, Aiden and Lindsay discover that God never turns his back on us and that he is always there when we come back into His fold. Also, that with the right person there is a chance for a bright and happy future.

I liked it but...

I really did like this story (the plot anyways). But there were a few instances that had me confused or frustrated.
Take Aiden. He's introduced as sweet and charming. He doesn't agree with his partner's lifestyle of sleeping around. (He was engaged, after all.) And he hates badge bunnies. He wants someone genuine. But then... he's a playboy that sleeps around, yet is tired of one night stands? Yet he's consistently saying it's not his style to call someone up and "hit that"? So which is it? It is briefly mentioned he slept around after his fiance left him, but in feel like if you're going to paint him a certain way, maybe go a little deeper into his poor choices.
It seems like he was meant to look like a dirty player compared to Lindsay.
Which brings me to Lindsay. I didn't like her. She came across as very snobbish and judgemental. She groused about Aiden being underdressed for a first date because apparently he didn't meet her criteria for first date standards. She made a snarky comment about his pool playing abilities. (My 84 year grandmother plays pool. She'll play any time, any where. And will clean the floor with you. Does that make her scum of the Earth?) She made another snobbish comment about "not consuming alcohol". A simple, "I usually don't drink, but I'll make an exception tonight" would have come across a lot better than her original comment. Oh, and getting all uppity because Aiden asked about her promise ring. Really? He asked her a question. And she gets upset she has to explain it.
I grasp that this book was showing a behavior change for the better in Aiden, but it feels like it misses the mark. Lindsay just appears like a total snob. And it comes off as super judgemental and uppity. And I'm a Christian. I also don't partake or participate in some of the activities, but I don't look down on those that do.
So, I liked the plot of the book. But there were some confusing and annoying character development issues that bugged me.

There is something for everyone in The Lawkeepers series, each author write a unique story either historical or contemporary. They are well written clean reads with one common link the law. Nothing grabs my heart more than a dog, with this K-9 series I was a sucker from the first page. The author gives a well told story of two people who have been hurt neither looking for romance giving their all to help others who need it. They meet but there really aren’t any sparks until they come together hunting for a missing child. As they get to know each other making a date there are a few unanswered questions. Can these two finally find a love they both have wanted for so long or will issues get in their way?

I enjoyed how the author brought it all together showing us how the officers and their dogs work so well together many times finding those who are lost bring them home alive. Aiden and Lindsay are both very caring people who give so much of their selves. I really liked the characters and how they turn to God which helps them deal with some issues they still have. I thought this was well written, with a few twists that kept me invested in the story. It has a wonderful plot that pulls you giving you a page turn. I couldn’t put it down read it all at one setting.

Aiden O'Connell transferred from the K-9 Unit in Bolder, Colorado to Clear Mountain Search and Rescue with his dog-partner Cooper. Lindsey
works for Social Services in the same town for over 2 years. Aiden and Lindsey surely have an attraction and keep bumping into each other several times and Aiden doesn't want to ask here out because Lindsey wears a double-hearted gold band on her left finger. He assumes she is married until he speaks with her at the Elementary School's Outreach. Lindsey was their with a young boy named Alex. Alex loved Aiden's K-9 Patrol dog Cooper and he was enjoying petting him when Aiden told Lindsey she was such a good Mom. Lindsey said she wasn't his Mom, that Alex was one of her cases and had been for 2 years. Lindsey and Alex went on their way, but Aiden saw her later with Alex. Aiden during a passing conversation asked her why her husband wasn't there with her and Lindsey told him she wasn't married and Aiden asked her out. Will this be a start of something fabulous for both of them ? I recommend this wonderful sweet romance for everyone . I will also add Lawfully Adored is well written by the Author with perfect flow that will grab and hold your attention until the last word is read, and leave you wanting more

Jenna Brandt has written a wonderful addition to the Lawkeeper’s Series. This book has a sweet romance between a K-9 officer and a child welfare worker. Both had been deeply hurt in their last relationships. They are each characters that I liked and rooted for. The author does a great job adding excitement and tenderness to the book through their jobs. Aiden has strayed from his faith but finds himself returning to it. Lindsay is devout. One of my favorite passages is from a sermon in Lindsay’s church: God’s handiwork is a kaleidoscope, and we’re all important changing colors to make it work. Jenna Brandt paints pictures with her words. I definitely want to read more of this author’s work.

I received an ARC copy. I am choosing to write a review and share my opinion about this awesome book.

This is a good Christian romance

Other than writing too much of the pastor's sermon, 3 times, the author did a great job of showing a good relationship built on faith in God. I don't like to read others' prayers, so I wish she had left those out. The characters talked enough & did enough to show any reader that their faith in God was important. The story itself was excellent. I disliked one part, where a search didn't end happily. I'm not sure that had to happen in order for Aiden & Lindsey to become closer. Otherwise I enjoyed it very much. I always enjoy Search & Rescue and K 9 units in romance stories. I love all animals, but I'm partial to dogs. I look forward to reading more by this author.

This is Aiden and Lindsay's story both of whom are not keen to date at the time when they meet but they can't deny that they feel an attraction for each other.
She immerses herself with her social worker work with children placing them with foster parents. He and his trusted canine search for and find missing persons.
The story is beautifully written and unfolds quite gently leading to a satisfactory ending.
I loved the honesty that both of them bring into their relationship.
I am quite happy to recommend this most enjoyable ebook which I received as a free advance copy and this is my voluntary and unbiased review.

The Children She Can't Have

Aiden loves his job dog. He is a K-9 officer,,but Cooper had a person before him, who died in a fall. Aiden had a fiancee,,who bailed out on him when she found a man with more money and a higher status.
Lindsay loves children,,wants children, can't have children. When she found out, her fiance bailed out.
Alex wants parents, but he can't even find decent foster parents. He wants Lindsay to adopt him, but she knows that as a single woman she can't take proper care of him. He likes Aiden, too. And Cooper.
How can all these wants be met?
God has a way of making things work out.
Recommended for all readers of Christian romance.

Aiden O'Connell is a K-9 officer in the mountains of Colorado. His heroics have gotten his name in the newspaper several times. Unfortunately, after his parents deaths when he was in college, he blamed the Lord and stopped attending church. Lindsay is a social worker with a decided lack of proper foster homes for the young children she oversees. She is a devout Christian and wants to find a good, honest Christian man. When the two meet, there is instant attraction but their first date is a disaster.

I am loving the Lawkeeper's series. This story is such a great creation. I am a sucker for K9 books and I loved the storyline. Two people, that have been hurt in the past - working together. Great reminder of no matter how far you fall - God welcomes you back with open arms. Well developed characters, great descriptions, wonderful, heartwarming story.

I received a copy of this book through the author - all thoughts are my own.

I really wanted to love this book. It had potential but I feel it didn’t flow well, there was a lack of chemistry between the characters, and the way Lindsay acted (or was portrayed as acting) seemed like she felt superior. Up until a certain point I felt that Aiden wasn’t good enough according to her standards. I agree that she wasn’t willing to lower them, but she was very brusque with Aiden and seemed to be expecting close to perfection.

I'd read about Aiden and several of the other characters in the search and rescue series, so it was nice to see his personal story with Lindsay.

The events in the story were interesting - seeing Aiden on the job working with his K9 dog, Cooper, and the rescues they performed; Lindsey with her social work and the children and families she dealt with - and the main characters interactions funny at times... and awkward. Yay to a halt ending. 😊

I enjoyed this story of a K9 rescue worker who backed off of his faith until he met the kind hearted social worker who made him want to be better. As their faith grew so did their relationship. The three short sermons at church were a wonderful addition. I received a complimentary copy and I am giving a review voluntarily.

This heartwarming story makes you believe in unconditional love. Aiden and Lindsey have both come out of heart breaking relationships, but Aiden has walked away from God, Lindsay has not. Aiden finds that Lindsey is all he wants in a woman and her faith leads him back to God. The story is well written and you can't help but fall in love with Aiden and Lindsey.

Sweet, cute, and clean

This was a cute and sweet read, with fun touches of K-9 and police work. I appreciated Lindsay's role as a social worker and how she was able to relate to Aiden through their work. One of Aiden's colleagues was a touch crass a couple times throughout the book, but the overall tone was sweet and clean, I'd rate it PG.

Heartbreaking but very sweet.

I loved all of them! Lindsey, Aiden, Alex Cooper...they all stole my heart in completely different ways and whilst Lindsey's job and Alex's situation is heartbreaking, the four of them together are very adorable, I look forward to seeing more of them in book 2. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

This was so cute. I loved how Aiden was willing to do anything he could just to be with her. She made him a better man without even trying. They felt a connection simce the moment they met and neither of them could forget the other. Lindsay was a woman that knew what she wanted and wouldn't settle for less, no matter how much she liked him, she had her standards and I respect her for it

Sweet, clean romance!

I enjoyed this book! It is a moving story of a girl meets boy, but it is much more! Love the K9 dog, liked finding out more about how K9 teams work. I also enjoyed the story line around her work as a social worker.
