Megan: Have you ever fallen so deeply for someone that you'd be willing to do anything for them? I was willing to do anything for Aaron including leaving him if it meant keeping him from getting tangled up in my past. Aaron wasn't going to let me run, even if there was an army after me, he'd gather arms and prepare for a war.
Aaron: Letting Megan go wasn't an option. She'd become a part of me that I couldn't live without. Some of the horrifying secrets from her past had been revealed, but I believed Megan's final secret had the power to rain down hell-fire on my MC, and I'd been right. When my father went behind my back and called my cousin Ansel for back-up, I knew that all hell was about to break loose, and I ended up preparing to fight an adversary so dangerous, my life teetered on the brink of extinction.
Keta Kendric is a USA Today Bestselling Author who enjoys writing romances featuring alpha men and strong leading ladies. Her books are edgy, raw, gritty, and some are dark.
This finale did not disappoint. I hope to see all the ladies of Twisted in a story together where they front a rescue mission. These aren't damsels in distress by a long shot. I loved it!
Can I just say how explosive (literally) this book is!! The journey of hell and hot fire Megan and Aaron have been through has been well worth the read. In this finale which starts out hot in the first few pages, the level of danger and trust these two have for each other is heartwarming and a little bit of that crazy love we can't get enough of. Aaron is willing to die in the name of setting Megan free from the men hunting her, and Megan is prepared to sacrifice herself to keep him safe. And I enjoyed every heart stopping second of it. Then there's crazy cousin Ansel that was a twisted delight, making me want to plead for him to have his own story. If you haven't already, GO READ THIS BOOK!!!
Revenge and Retaliation is the theme for this fast paced, high octane, violent installment. Twisted Secrets answers all the questions I had from the first two books. Answered with a degree of violence, I haven’t read in a book in a long time. I thought I was watching a movie. I must not be reading the right books.
What I love
● Shark. Shark is cool, grumpy, and 150 year old (Ansel’s assessment) bad-assed old man. ● The repetitious writing of ideas, phrases, and internal thoughts plaguing the first two books disappear in this installment. ● The introduction of Ansel. I do feel Ansel was the flip side of Aaron. ● Introducing Regina, who is as different from the other females as day is to night.
That thing about Aaron almost made me stop reading. It throws me completely out of the story.
How about the ending - When the war concludes, I thought, “Is that it”. It left me slightly unsatisfied, as I would’ve loved an “Ayra Stark” confrontation with DG6. A in your face, see me now, I have survived confrontation. Of course, the author has the right to write and publish what they will.
As this is the author’s first book/trilogy, she did well.
Wow! What a great end to a fantastic series. If you have been following along with Megan and Aaron then you know these two have been through it, but in this last book of the series I just didn't think that these two would make it. This book really had me on the edge from beginning to end, I just couldn't put it down. There were so many ups and downs, twist and turns, and tears and cheers that I thought this would never end well for these two. I'm so glad that I was wrong. If you're looking for a fast paced riveting series suspenseful romance, you're going to love The Twisted Minds series.
Violent, vicious, and virile are just some of the words that pop up in my head to summarize this book. Disturbing is another, but overall it had me on the edge of my seat!
Before I dive into this, I wanna say I was geared up to give this 5 stars. It's at a 4.7 for me now and the reason for that is this...violence, its pretty much inescapable in this crazy world we live in, unfortunately, but there were certain parts in this story that were gory and turned my stomach and made me wish I could turn away, but nope it was too late. The imagery had already formed in my head and there was no unseeing it. Keta Kendric can give Bret Easton Ellis a run for his money when it comes to describing vividly graphic scenes. I haven't read a lot of books about motorcycle gangs, but this series did not flout or gloss over how truly dangerous the men and women who live in that world can be. That I give Keta mucho props for. She didn't fold back.
All of that said, let me just break down how I felt about the characters:
AARON: He is still the hard as brass balls, mean mf'er you do not want to mess with for any reason. Loves his woman and doesn't care who knows about it. There was a moment that had me wondering if I could finish the book, but I soldier thinking to myself, nah it can't end like this, and yep it involved ole Aaron.
ANSEL: Aaron's crazy af, messy as hell cousin. I LOVED Ansel. He provided humor, tension, lust, UST, all of it!! He was virtually Aaron's twin in a sense only he preferred to rock suits and living in various California mansions when he wasn't going around murdering people for fun and business purposes, I suppose, and engaging in his BDSM lifestyle.
DR. REGINA: I really liked Regina. When she popped up on the scene I was of course thrown and automatically suspicious, but once the writing was on the wall I quickly figured out where things were going to go. She was a chick who kept a leveled head.
Finally we have MEGAN: *sighs* In the previous books, Megan got to showcase her intelligence, resourcefulness, penchant for living off the grid, and having a sick fascination with the state of dead bodies and had no issue in getting rid of them. In this final installment she was reduced to a side character which was a letdown. I was hoping she might get to unleash her inner Okoye but I guess not. She had her moments of toughness, and a very real and visceral reaction at a devastating point, however she wasn't utilized in the way I thought she might be.
Final thoughts: The action built and built and built. There weren't too many dull moments. I had to suspend my disbelief at a certain part of the book, which I won't reveal but if you read, you'll understand why. Needless to say this was a very heart-pounding, nail-biting end to a very ambitious undertaking. (Standing ovation)
**Last point. I may have inappropriately laughed after finding out what the special ingredient was in the DG6's meth.
Bring on Ansel's story. I know things aren't finished with him and Dr. Regina, and I can't wait.
I wanted to say Hot Damm! This book is outstanding this whole series was fantastic. Not once did I want to put to this book down. I was all in my emotions reading this book. Reading this book there are so many characters Keta can write about to continue this series. As bad as I want to read Sharks story p!ease give Ansel, and D a story why do you give all the men in both crew a story. I would definitely recommend the whole series
I really enjoyed the finale to Aaron and Megan’s story. I really was on an emotional roller coaster while reading this book. I was ugly crying and everything. I enjoyed all the action too. I hope to read Ansel and Regina’s story soon. That Ansel is a mess. Great job, Keta Kendric!
This ended the series off really nice with a happy ending for everyone. I did get a little teary eyed when I thought Aaron was gone for good, but so happy that he came back.
I did not want this story to end! Poor Aaron and Meagan have been to hell and back. We finally find out why Megan is on the run and Aaron and his cousin are set to make that end, especially after DG6 tortured and almost killed Aaron. My emotions ran the gambit in this book. I cried and was so upset to even think of Megan having to live life without the love of her life. I had to stop reading for awhile to let my heart beat back to normal. Keta had me feeling all kinds of ways. I love reading books with lots of action, drama, suspense and romance and this book fulfilled all of this and then some. She is one of my new favorite authors.
In this book, we see the grumpy Shark kind of change his racist thoughts about Black women and make a play for the new girl on the block, Regina, We are introduced to Aaron's cousin Ansel, who could be Aaron's twin, and his crazy ways. I can see a future series of stories being written about Ansel and Dr. Regina and his attempt to keep her safe from her family. They have the potential to be just as hot as Aaron and Megan!
Great job in writing this book Keta. You put your heart and soul in it along with your foot! LOL
My heart is still pounding!!! This finale held no punches! This book takes you on an emotional gut wrenching roller coaster ride!! If I wasn’t reading this on my tablet or phone, this book would have met the wall a few times!!! I loved every part in this book except that one part where I cussed the author out (my apologies)! Aaron you were my book boyfriend until I met your cousin. That damn Ansel is something else(Fans myself)!! For anybody to give this less than 5 stars has some serious mental issues!! This series is a must read!!
Boy oh boy...i haven't read a book that made me tear up so much in a long time. This finale was just plain perfect. I'm very happy I came across this author's work. Hoping to read about Ansel and Regina as well as Megan's other friends
Ma’am! I tried to pull away from this series and read other books, but it has a hold on me, that won’t let go! I’ve almost become an addict to this heart pumping, action packed chaos! THIS one right here is where the fun begins! Who would have thought that there could be anyone crazier and more twisted than Aaron! I know right? But there is! His cousin Ansel, is certifiably nuts! He blows on the scene, at Shark’s request, wondering what the hell is going on in his MC! He quickly gets on board, understanding Aaron’s plight, and joins in to fight DG6. Whew lawd them scenes were intense, and I was holding my breath for a few chapters! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO……. I actually screamed out loud when that action took place, and I could not believe you let that happen! 🤯 But, when Miss Regina saw what she saw, and did what she did, I was like, yeah baby (in my Austin Powers voice)!! 😂 When all was revealed, there was “some” peace allowed back into the world, but there was still a war raging! Ansel and the team were badass, while taking out the enemy! But, now what? There are two more books in the series, and I can’t think of what on earth can be left after all that has happened! But on to the next one! Loving this! 👍👍👍
Almost half way through.... I thought I was going to DIE!!!
I'm serious, tears formed and everything... I wasn't going to finish the series cause of what I had just read, but as I have stated numerous times, I AM NO QUITTER! So keep reading and EXTREMELY happy I did. The finale of this series WAS THE BEST. Aaron and Megan aka Lacey were destined to be one another's FOREVER. The MC took it to the Cartel and essentially rescued a damsel that saved, LITERALLY one if their own. Shoot, as bad as that Cartel family was I wouldn't have minded a little more torture but all good things must come to an end. I am now wondering if cousin Ansel and the doc, D, Dax, Beverly and Laura will be the start of new series to come? Maybe? And what of Poppa of the MC Shark? He has got to finally show he is a changed man, thanks no doubt to Megan. I so loved this series. Looking forward to the next adventure.
Gee, I have no word... This book is frickin great in every way, the storyline, the characters, humor, hot sex, quality of family and friendship, well written... If they had more than 5 stars Keta Kendric you would get it from me. I could barely put it down to go to bed, since I have to get up super early. With all the Hot men and beautiful women, I'm hoping that you are keeping the series going, and see how Aaron and Megan are doing. Here is sample of some humor in the book: Ansel pointed. “That one, the one who looks like she could make a room full of priests start jacking off...D’s smile grew wide. “That’s Beverly.” “After you told me about her skills with a blade, and now that I see her, she screams: danger, danger, danger.” Ansel pointed at Regina. “Don’t get me started on the sexy doctor, who from what Aaron tells me has a penchant for burning men alive.”....at Megan. “And innocent-face Megan, who harbored enough secrets to start a fucking nationwide war and is the reason that we are all sitting in a fucking justice of the peace’s office about to witness a marriage that could very well slam the gates of hell shut.” Enjoy folk!!😁
I laughed. I almost cried and wanted to throw my phone. I skipped some parts out of boredom. But overall, I loved this installment! She definitely made up for the lack of character development and kitsch in the first book. Is it still a bit trope-y? Of course it is, but I didn’t really mind because the ride was so fun. I’ll definitely check out Regina and Ansel’s story. If I can fall in love with Megan and Aaron, I know it will be super easy for me to feel the same about Regina and Ansel.
A spectacular conclusion!!! Honestly, halfway through this book I was ready to put a hit on Ms Kendric's head for that stunt she pulled. My heart stopped and I fell deep into depression. Then a miracle happened and I was crying tears of joy so hard my eyes hurt and my nose was leaking. I highly recommend all three books in the Twisted Minds series! Seriously the best writing I've come across in the last few years. A definite re-read.
Great read lots of action, things go boom, there’s suspense, lots of killing, some steamy sexy time, travel, and humor . A few unbelievable moments and a few instances of behavior that didn’t fit with the characters descriptions of themselves. Also It just seemed like they got a wee bit soft in book 3 still good just didn’t have the same edge. Also a few things they did didn’t fit well with what seasoned killers would have done like how can you for example think of this crazy secret passage escape hatch situation that was strangely tailored for that situation but don’t strap on a Kevlar before heading into a gun fight. Also I wish we could have seen an example that fit with the dark savagery one of the characters was said to have possessed. Because he never really did anything that fit with the hype and craziness he was purported to have.
This was a fantastic series, this final instalment of Keta Kendrick's Twisted series was one of the best endings I have read. This book actually made me ugly cry, laugh and feel nervous and anxious....my emotions were in a mess and I loved every minute of it! I loved Ansel and all the supporting characters in this story, I would love for the author to write more but I do think this story was unique and special in its own way from the very start until the last page. Brilliant, I can't wait to read more from this author!!
I enjoyed this series but this book was, my opinion, very different from the others. All of the books had some violence but this seemed to have more. This book also focused more on the plot to get rid of gang that was hunting Megan. There was some romance but this book seemed more like an action movie with some love scenes thrown in at the beginning and the end. I still liked the book but it just wasn't what I was expecting.
Sooo good! I'm speechless! I believe I went through every emotions with this book and it was well worth it! I want to know minute about all of them Laura, Beverly and of course Doc and Ansel and the newlyweds! Maybe Shark finds him somebody and changes the bylaws! Great Series!
This story was twisted good. The elements of love, revenge, death, and resurrection were a part of this story. This story contained three parts, where I laughed, cried, and rejoiced as I read. This story left no stones unturned and no questions unanswered. Even though Megan and Aaron came from different worlds, they were drawn to each other in a way that was inexplicably unexplainable.
This story had great characters with a good story line. Every thing was developed well, and we saw the progression of the characters and story within each book. This series were my first read by this author, and I will be looking forward to reading more of her books in the future. I have no problem recommending this story and series to others.
This book took me through some changes! I felt it all...pain, joy, anger, sorrow and I was only 50% in! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this book! I hope other characters will get their stories too...Ansel, D, the girlfriends.
Aaron and Megan....great couple with a strong bond. Wow...
The series has been truly amazing. The action, drama, sex, and love kept me glued from start to finish. Aaron and Megan are both tortured souls but managed to find love and hope during the most dangerous journey in their lives. Thanks Keta for blessing us with your wonderful writings. I hope Ansel and Regina get story next!
Even though for me, the story started off a little dragging to get to the good stuff.,but when it did....IT DID! It was a bunch of sexy alphas and lady alphas doing what they do best. And that Ansel....whew chile. Hope there a story for him and Regina because that gonna be a scorcher!
Aaron and Megan together was combustible. The things they won't do for each other. I am glad they both got rid of the people who was trying to kill her. I am so looking forward to reading Ansel and Regina and the rest of the crew books.
I hate that this series had to end. I really would lime to hear more about Ansel and the rest of Aaron buddies and if they hooked up with any of Megan friends.
