Joanna's retelling of the first family -Papa God, Adam and Eve is definitely very creative as readers are made to see the beautiful love Eve specially enjoys with Papa God - her Dad. The author cleverly demonstrates the innocent love experiences that Eve basks in that proves she is not an 'after thought'. The writer's unique style blends reciting, narrating, dialogues and monologues that retell the events that happened in the Garden of Eden in Genesis.
Joanna May Chee shows parallel scriptures in Revelation , Songs of Solomon and Deuteronomy which express God's love for Eve and her husband, Adam that are so apt and truly remarkable. After the mistake of their disobedience to Papa God, Eve laments the ugly change in her life that is completely alien to her but in spite of her grievous offence towards Papa God, she experiences His love, forgiveness and acceptance. There is a call to us all that this divine love from Papa God can be enjoyed and experienced if we see Him as our Dad too!

I really enjoy reading Biblical fiction, particularly those books which centre around women from the Bible. This book is written from Eve's perspective and within its pages we see the heart of God as Father and his unconditional, endless, love for Eve. There is pain and heartbreak, but also joy and hope in her story. Always at the centre is the message of God's love and acceptance.

There is a real depth to Eve's Story with so much more in it than can be discovered on just one reading. Although it is an imaginative retelling, Biblical truth is intertwined throughout the book. For me, this is what makes it even more compelling reading. The themes of love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, relationship, restoration which are major themes in the Bible can all be found in this book too.

This book is not just Eve's Story – it is ours too. Yours and mine. I see my story in Eve's. My need to be loved and accepted. My need for security, self-worth and significance. My feelings of brokenness, pain, shame, guilt and rejection.

There is hope for Eve, a hope that is met in the forever love her Papa gives her. There is hope for each of us too. We can receive from God our Father the same love Papa gave Eve. He meets our deepest need and he draws us closer to himself. He heals our brokenness and restores us.

This book, I think, will be more popular amongst women than men. I would recommend it to any woman, whatever stage they are at in life, whether they are taking their first steps to discovering God as their Father or are further along in their journey. I believe it could be especially helpful for those who struggle to know God as their loving Father. If like me, your desire is to know God at a deeper level, then this book is for you too.

Although I do believe this book will be more popular with women, this is not to say men will not enjoy reading it because at the heart of us all is a desire to be loved and accepted for who we are and this book tells us how that desire can be met through knowing God as our loving Father.

Forever Loved Eve’s Story is exactly what it states it is- a creative retelling of the time Eve opened her eyes at her creation to the time she closes them at her death. The author writes in a very poetic matter, she does add scriptures but most of the story is what might have happened and what Eve may have been thinking.

The author splits up this small book into bite size chunks; I read it in less than an hour all told. The three main sections is Her Story, Eve’s Story, and Your Story with reflections on what was read. This was a creative, getting into if fictitiously the mind of Eve. Seeing the wonder of God, Adam, Eden, the animals, etc., the awful taste of the fruit, a different way of life, childbirth, and the author clearly tries to put Eve’s circumstances in front of our eyes.

This is not really my usual read but it was an interesting retelling even if I necessarily did not agree with all of it.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.

This book was a deep and beautifully inspiring read that had me reading it aloud to my husband as we both marvelled at the gems of truth that Joanna unpacked throughout this creative retelling. It is foundational to understanding how God loves us today and our identity as women in a fallen world. What if it's not a blame game but something infinitely more beautiful?

A genuinely unique book - I've read nothing like this before! Joanna May Chee's re-telling is based solidly on the Biblical text, but then she 'creatively imagines' what might have happened in between, in order to highlight some very interesting aspects of Eve's story which are right there in Genesis and which I'd never noticed on previous readings.

This book really made me think, and appreciate God's love further. Also, it's not a long book, which makes it a great gift, as you're not burdening someone with something which will end up on their shelf, but giving them a bit of digestible devotional space. Wonderful stuff.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT FOREVER LOVED, EVE’S STORY
This book was a short and easy read – I actually enjoy them longer, but I felt like I could give this one to a friend and have it not be overwhelming if the friend isn’t a word nerd like me. I like that Ms. Chee fleshed out what might have happened, to get us thinking about it. If you didn’t think storytellng like this could be a part of Bible study, think again. It’s a great way to engage with Scripture and use your God-given imagination to have a conversation with God about his Word. I also liked how Ms. Chee used this story to show how all our insecurities and brokenness are rooted in sin – which means there is also a solution!

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE ABOUT THIS TELLING OF EVE’S STORY
I think it’s totally acceptable to “fill in the blanks” to make a story like this come alive. We don’t know exactly how these events happened, and as mentioned above, thinking about how they might have happened actually helps us to engage scripture, think critically about it, and apply it to our lives. But I do think we need to tell our readers when we’re doing that. And Ms. Chee does. But she does it in a footnote, not in the body of the text. Only nerds like me read footnotes. So someone could be reading this, and either a) think some of the parts of the story are straight out of Scripture (some are, some aren’t), or, b) because of a), assume that Ms. Chee is off on a limb and about to fall out of the tree. I would suggest that she move that paragraph out of the footnotes and into the body of the text, so it is clear to every reader exactly what’s happening here.

It’s not the most grounded book – based in part from Ms. Chee’s spiritual experiences, not just Scripture. That doesn’t make it bad, but I would challenge you to do exactly what Ms. Chee said to do in the aforementioned footnote: read the Scriptures for yourself and join the conversation. And like my friend Joey would say, eat the meat and spit out the bones. Also, the story is told in first person present, which just isn’t my favorite…it’s so hard to pull it off well. If that bothers you, this story might not be your favorite.

WOULD I RECOMMEND FOREVER LOVED, EVE’S STORY?
Yes, even though the writing style wasn’t my favorite, I would recommend this story. I think it could be a valuable tool to reflect on our relationships with God – and with men – in a way that challenges us and invites us to grow, but also surrounds and comforts us with God’s presence. Don’t read it independently – bring it into conversation with Scripture and with prayer, and perhaps you’ll even find some of your own healing and restoration along the way as you discover Eve’s story of healing and restoration.

I received a review copy of this book; all opinions are my own.

"Forever Loved, Eve’s Story" by Joanna May Chee is a wonderful story that is written as if Eve, the first woman is telling her autobiography. This is a story of Adam's and Eve's love story with each other and with God. This book shows hows our Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to know his true love for us. While reading this book I kept thinking, you know, I can see it happening like this. I think most of us think of Eve as just as the woman who brought sin into our lives and we never really thought of her as a daughter and having conversions with God, her Father, but the Bible does tell us that Adam and Eve did have conversations with God and He walked with them. I think this book might just stop the laughter and jokes about Eve. I cringed when even pastors joke and blame Eve for sin, when we all know that sin is because of Satan, and we all fall into his deceit at times.

I am glad the author shared her personal story at the beginning of the book and the close relationship she had with her father, I so wanted a close relationship with my father but it didn't happen and now it won't ever happen because my father passed January 11, 2019, but I know I can have a close relationship with my Heavenly Father and that He loves each and every one of his daughters.

Throughout the story, there are Biblical scriptures that enhances the story of Eve.

This is a simple and short book that I read in about 45 minutes and I am going to download the free devotional "Treasures Hidden in the Story of Eve’. I am also going to check out the Devotional Bible Study when it becomes available. I am really wanting a deeper relationship with Father God and I think studying Eve , the first woman just might be the place to start.

I recommend this book to everyone, even men because I think men need to also know that Eve was more than the first woman to sin.

I was given a complimentary copy by the author and Celebrate Lit. These opinions are my own.

Have you ever disappointed your Dad? If you haven’t then you are probably unique. You may not have made him cry, but I suspect like the rest of us, you have done something to disappoint him. So when Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden did she make God cry?

My Penny’s Worth
Forever Loved, Eve’s Story by Joanna May Chee is a beautiful story about the Father’s love for His daughter. It opens the door to the Dad of all dads. If you don’t know the love of a dad then reading this book will show you just how much you are loved by the greatest of all dads.

What I loved
I loved the beautiful writing that drew me into the Garden of Eden. The words sang of God’s delight in Eve, His first daughter and the closeness of Creator and creation. I saw the beauty of Eden and its rest. Then the crushing reality that one act could destroy their bond. However, did it? Did Eve’s Dad cry; did this disappointment ruin their relationship? You will have to read the story to find out.

We were not created to enter his work. We were created to enter his rest. His eternal rest.

Would I recommend this book?
I received this as an ebook, but as it has so many beautiful statements, I want to buy the paperback. For me, it is like balm to my soul. I have highlighted so many sentences. Moreover, for those that feel they have disappointed their Dad to the point of no return, I would recommend this book.

He loves to come, even in your darkest moments.

Eve’s Story is only 140 pages long. However, it is packed with love.

I would like to give it 5*

Thank you, Joanna, for writing this book.

Don’t forget the GIVEAWAY at the end of this post.

Author Joanna May Chee has written “A Creative Retelling” of Eve’s story. I am a fan of biblical fiction but don’t like it when they change the story to take too many liberties. This book is so wonderful it would be hard not to like it. It is a paperback that has less than one hundred forty pages, so it could be a quick read. I savored it.

Opening the book is the author’s story. She has a quaint style of writing that I found to be pleasant, Sentences are short but meaningful. I felt as if the author was being transparent and sharing herself.

The beginning of Eve’s chapters talking about this being a book about a Father and Daughter caught me off guard. I always think of Eve being Adam’s wife and often forget she was the first daughter. This was a lovely reminder.

Eve’s chapters are only one or two pages long, but they are powerful. The emotions felt real. I smiled, I warmed, I was devastated, and I cried. This is a thought provoking book for all women.

The last section is “Your Story”. It includes a reflection, prayers and an invitation. This is a chance to accept Jesus or perhaps deepen your relationship with Abba. After information about the author is a sample of the accompanying Devotional Bible Study.

I highly recommend this book to all women. Get a group, read it by yourself, or grab your best friend, just read it! You will be so glad. This is a God glorifying book. It will remind you that you are a beloved daughter of the true God. Are you smiling now? I am. This earned a 5 star rating. A copy was provided by Celebrate Lit but I was under no obligation to write a review. These are my own honest thoughts.

Concentrating on the first 4 chapters of Genesis as Eve’s Story has been done before, but this is different. The heart of the story comes alive in a fresh way.
The scripture references are included, so you can check each point out for yourself, which is always a plus in any book like this.
My first impression was Wow! I like this.

Relationship:
I know my dad loves me, and I know God loves me. God is my father, but do I act like I know or believe it? Do my attitude and actions show me as a daughter who loves her father above all others?
Wanting to spend time together, tell Him about my day, bring a smile to His face?
Or is it “thank you for this, save me from that” day after day? Not that those are wrong, but a steady diet of that, must get old!
I was definitely challenged in this area of relationship!

Fear of Missing Out:
We don’t know what we don’t know. We just know there are things we don’t know. And we wonder if it’s good. If HE is keeping something from us, that we might like! That’s what happened to Eve.
I guess it boils down to trust.
Trusting that He has the best plan
That He knows & loves us individually
And that He is faithful to forgive us over and over again.
Seeing Cain’s actions and attitude from a mother’s perspective opened my eyes to some interesting things. A teen who regularly hears about his parents having experienced and then ruined a perfect world, could definitely lead to hopelessness and the desire to “do it my way” I believe.
📚 I received a copy of the book from the author, this did not influence my review, all thoughts arr my own.

The beginning of the book is interesting because it talks about her relationship with her father. It was nice to read how close she was to her father and what a positive influence he was in her life growing up. I also liked how she described having a relationship with her Heavenly Father. I want a deeper relationship with Jesus also.

I did remind myself as I read the book that this is an account of what one person perceives as what could have happened as Eve is introduced to us in the bible. The story is a beautiful way to look at how Eve may have been when she first met Jesus. I did like reading about Eden and how gorgeous and peaceful it was. It was interesting to read how the author saw Eve.

It was hard to read about Cain and Abel and how their parents played a part in what was to happen. From the very beginning God warned them not to eat from the tree, but Eve and then Adam disobeyed. Their punishment was hard but God forgave them of their sin. I did like how the author encourages readers to have a deeper relationship with God and how "You are forever loved." That one sentence has stuck with me as I finished the book. No matter what, I am loved. I may have sinned, but I am still loved. Such powerful words that humble me and remind me daily that we all sin; but the good news is we are forgiven.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

Forever Loved: Eve's Story by Joanna May Chee is a fictional account of the first woman, Eve. It is not meant to be read instead of the beginning of the Bible but alongside it. It will help to enhance our understanding of Eve and our own relationship with God, our Father.
Joanna May Chee opens with the background to her story. It is God inspired. It is a story of love. A love for Eve. For you. For me. A love that hangs on. A love that will never let us go. A love that never fails.
We 'feel' Eve's love for God. We 'see' her being tempted. We 'feel' her despair but God is faithful even when we are not. God loves us. "In the midst of death, darkness and despair, God spoke victory."
No matter what happens in life, God has the victory, Always. Forever.
Forever Loved: Eve's Story is beautifully written and designed to draw us nearer to the Father's heart. There are portions of scripture to back up the narrative.
At the end of the book there is a devotional to be used in tandem with the book. Questions for self reflection and scripture references are included. There are prayers to receive God and to draw closer to Him.
A beautifully written book to enable us to draw as close to God as we want to.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

This was an interesting look at a story we all know and love. We all look at Eve as the first one to sin, the wife to Adam, and the mother to mankind. But have you ever stopped to see her as a daughter? To be honest, I never really thought about it that way. I never pictured her speaking with God as her father. Seems silly when you think about it!

What I appreciated about this book was a fresh perspective – Eve as a daughter. Imagine the conversations she had with her Father before sin occurred. Imagine the pain it caused her Father when she did sin for the first time. Sure this is probably meant to be read as a story, but I encourage you to open up your bible and look at the biblical tell as you read each chapter. Compare and contrast. Have an open discussion with a friend who might be reading with you. I think it’ll open the door up to great conversation, as long as you keep in mind that this is a retelling. That means the author can add things here and there and you cannot count it as factual. It is merely her interpretation, which opens up the window to your own interpretation!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Have you ever wondered what it must have been like to be Eve and experienced the Garden of Eden first hand? Have you ever wondered what it must have been like to experience God’s presence in person? Forever Loved Eve’s Story does exactly that. Joanna May Chee does an incredible job of creating the illusion of the reader experiencing the events first hand.

Ms. Chee does a remarkable job of conveying how much a father loves a daughter and how much more so God loved Eve and all of the daughters who come after her. She makes God come alive as a loving “Papa” rather than an angry and unforgiving God. I have a number of friends who in their normal conversations who refer to God as “Papa”. Truly this illustrates a more loving and approachable Creator.

The encounter between God and Eve after Eve and Adam ate from the Tree of Life was heart-breaking and uplifting all at the same time. The details given about their life with their children provided a wealth of insight of what Eve must have gone through after Cain killed Abel. I found the book to be inspirational and worth reading. I encourage you to read it both as a story and as a Bible Study.

I received a copy of this book for my fair and honest review. All thoughts contained in this review are my own.

This book offers much food for thought. I love books that challenge me to see familiar Bible passages in a new way, and this one did just that.

The author shares a bit of her own story, and how God met her in her journey.

Then she goes on to do a retelling of the story of Eve, and how it might have been for her...her relationship with God, first the delight of it all there in the Garden of Eden, and then the pain that her sin brought.

This book reminded me that God loves each and every one of us, and He created us in just the way He wanted us to be. He loves us as a Father.

I was blessed and challenged, and won't ever see the story of Eve quite the same way again!

Eve. First woman. First to be tempted. First to sin. But what if there were more to her story than that? Forever Loved: Eve’s Story is the story of Father and daughter, as told by Eve. It is a story of preciousness and beauty, of tender love and grace. Through Eve, God reveals his Father heart of love for you, his treasured daughter. He whispers to you now, and calls you closer.

Includes:

My Story: The author’s personal story of encountering God as Father.
Eve’s Story: A beautifully creative retelling of the Bible story of Eve.
Your Story: Encouragement and prayers to take you deeper into God’s presence.
Experience Eve’s story anew. Discover just how loved you are!

My Thoughts: This is an interesting account of Eve and Adam in the Garden of Eden. The reader begins reading the first account of Eve in her words. This short book is a great reminder of how much God loves us, and how He wants us to be in fellowship with Him.

This is an enjoyable read that all readers will love.

Embracing God's Unfathomable Love

Forever Loved: Eve's Story (A Creative Retelling) is an incredibly beautiful story. Based on details given in the Bible about Eve, Joanna May Chee has prayerfully expanded on those details, sharing insights into Eve's life and relationship with God.
Forever Loved: Eve's Story, becomes my story and every woman's story, as we receive and embrace the deep, gracious love of God. To realize the depth of His love is comforting, reassuring, exciting, humbling, and life-changing. Joanna May Chee has brought Eve to life, as we read about what her thoughts and feelings may have been as a woman, a daughter, a wife and as a mother.
This touching and moving story will bring readers hope and encouragement as they realize and embrace God's deep, unfathomable love for themselves. I am delighted to highly recommend Forever Loved: Eve's Story (A Creative Retelling).

I would classify this book as basically nonfiction, but the fictionalized account of Eve’s story from creation to post-Fall takes much creative license in adding material not found in the Bible to flesh out the narrative with thoughts, dialogue, etc. I disagree with some of the portrayal, however, generally it follows the biblical outline found in Genesis. The author begins with her own story of coming to know the God the Father, then shares Eve’s tale in a compelling way, followed by a focus on the reader and drawing her to God. The theme of the entire book is God’s love for us. A devotional guide is also available to accompany this book. Forever Loved offers a personal devotional experience or could be used in a group setting. Be ready to delve deeper spiritually when you encounter this book. I think its geared toward women, but that’s not to say men couldn’t benefit from reading it. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.

WOW, this book really puts things into a different perspective for
"Daughters of the King". We all know that God is our Father, but
for Christian Women the relationship can be really explained by
diving into the story of Eve, the first woman. JoAnna May Chee
does that wonderfully in this book.

We all have relationships with our Earthly father and some are
"Daddy's Girls" andhave an extra special bond with our Dad.
I know I had a really close relationship with my Dad, whom I
miss dearly gone almost 5yrs. Our relationship with our Heavenly
Fathercan and should be very similar.

Forever Loved: Eve's Story shows us how our Heavenly Father
loved his daughter, Eve, even after the great sin she committed.
God LOVES us also, even though we all sin. We sometimes to
forget to put our Heavenly father first, even as he continually loves
his Daughters.

I really gained a LOT from this book! It is uplifting and encouraging.
A GREAT READ for everyone!

Forever Loved Eve’s Story

A very unique retelling of Eve story in the Bible. The comparison of before and after when Adam and Eve ate the Apple from the tree that God told them not to. The part when playing with the animals was a fun scene. The book goes a little ways past Cain and Abel story. I found the book very interesting. There is a companion guide to this book to for a Bible study. Has a sample at the end of this book. It looks to be a very useful study guide. I really loved the way how the books relates to the salvation plan.

This book would make a great gift for someone. Also the book and the Bible study would be awesome for a Bible study and discussion.

If I could give a book six stars I would have!

This is Eve’s Story, not Adam and Eve’s story, but Eve’s story and her relationship with God, as her Father and creator. It is a creative retelling from Eve’s perspective.

WOW! I grew up hearing the story of Adam and Eve, and most of the time Eve was the bad guy who talked Adam into eating the Apple. I had never really thought about Eve as the first woman and all being the first woman really meant. I never thought of Eve and all of her heartbreaks, not just the loss of her son, but the loss of actually walking with God. This is a very quick , but meaningful read. I highly recommend this book to anyone, it is a wonderful perspective that will make you think and keep you thinking long after you have read the last page.

I received a copy of this novel from Celebrate Lit, this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

I loved this book! I've already read it twice and am on my third read. Simply but beautifully told, an old tale with a fresh, Holy Spirit illuminated interpretation. Theologically sound, some of the simplest sentences have had me going over them again and again because when linked to scripture throughout the Bible (some already dug out for you - some from my own knowledge of scripture) they impacted my mind, heart and spirit with just such deep impact. Would lend this to anyone, believer or seeker. Especially great for those who are looking more of the Fathers Heart. Have a list of people I'd like to lend it to but think I need to keep my hands on this copy so will be buying more...it's a slim volume that packs a punch!

A creatively written imaginative first person narrative based on the Biblical story of Eve. The author has crafted a dramatic and detailed fictionalization based on the book of Genesis, chapters 1-5. There is a certain amount of dramatic license taken to personalize and add depth and breadth. The author shares her passion by declaring her purpose in this book as “reach women around the world, women who are hurting, women who have never heard God loves them, women who just simply want to know God more.” Enjoy.

Inspired, thought provoking, sensitively written. Easy to read, and well worth reading again. Because Joanna shared her own story first, it opened my mind and heart. Her passion is to stir the hearts of others to seek and know God. Eve's story is also our story--except that we have no experience of a world without pain, war, anger, fear, selfishness, etc. I also appreciate that Joanna has provided Bible study materials if the reader wants to delve deeper into the creation story.

This is a must read for every woman wondering about the Father heart of God! It's a beautiful love story, awakening longing in my own heart to experience more of the Father's love. If you'll only read one book this year, this is the one! Don't miss out on this captivating, creative retelling of Eve's Story.

This Biblical fiction book is a very easy read which will leave you feeling encouraged. Joanna has successfully got into Eve's mind and the chapters where death entered our world I found particularly moving. This little book is big on character and helps us understand or confirms how much our Father God loves us. We are indeed forever loved.

I loved this book and the story behind it. It was fun to read, I felt as though I was learning details that I never took away from the Bible. Though it is a story woven with the author’s opinion, she did a nice job of finding the truth to keep with Eve. It is a book I would recommend and encourage you to read.

Inspirational book reminding us of God's love for all His children. Read this unique and personal story of Eve and her relationship with God. The author shares her personal relationship with God, too. I received a copy of this story from the author and this is my own personal honest opinion.

This is a very good retelling of the story of Adam and Eve from Eve’s point of view. I really enjoyed how the author sees what Eve did. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I really enjoyed this book. I have always felt so sorry for Eve. I was pleased to have my attention drawn to the fact that God took so much care of Adam and Eve even after they had sinned. I have not done the bible study but may have a look at that soon.
A very good book.
