This is a fast-moving storyline with many twists and turns. Well written.

The second book in the Alisha McDermott series is as action packed as the first and filled with many of the same characters, some new ones and all of the mind bending questions of who is "good" and who is "bad" that made the first book such a page turner. Brandon Parker seems to be on the side of the CIA and US, but is he, and is his Dad, Leesh's handler Greg? Who knows where she is and is that why they are finding her so easily? Who is Phoenix? And of course what does Frank Reinhert really stand for. There are even more layers of intrigue in this book than were in the Cardinal Rule and while it sometimes gets distracting to try and figure it all out the book rocks along at such a rocket pace that I just kept at it until the final exciting confrontation.

Does anyone not doubt the directives from their superiors? I do frequently. It's as if the blindfold of trust is ripped away and everything becomes jarring and clear. It's rather depressing at times. Watching Alisha loose confidence in people she trusted was a bit sad and hit a bit too close to home.

Surprisingly good book! Wish I had read the first one, but somehow I only bought this, the second. Oh well, it was still easy to follow. Love the spy stuff, of course - as though who know me, know I love ALIAS. Will have to try and get the first and the last in the series now.
