1. This little guinea pig named Fluffy is Ms. Day's class pet. He goes home with Emma for spring vacation and has to brave two cats, a hair salon, and even an airport in order to make it back safely to his beloved classroom.
2. Grades 2-4
3. Fun read, literature circle
4. I plan to have a class pet, so this could be a great read for my future students. Any student who enjoys animal stories will really like this story.
5/6. I would most likely keep this book in my classroom library, but I could also use it in a literature circle for animal stories.
7. Fluffy Goes to School, Fluffy Saves Christmas, Fluffy's Happy Halloween
8. None

Fluffy goes home for spring vacation with one of the students from school and finds three chapters of adventure. One focuses on some less than friendly cats, another going to the hair salon. The third chapter finds Fluffy at the airport (the x-ray picture is pretty funny...)

1st and 2nd graders love Fluffy read alouds. There are a number of Fluffy escapades surrounding holidays that have less traditional story lines.

We picked this book up from our public library.

Poor Fluffy, he is on a vacation from school and gets to go home with Emma! Only Emma has other pets, like a dog and two cats. While being home with Emma Fluffy finds himself running away from the cats and hiding in places you wouldn't think. He even gets to go to the hair stylist where he has an adventure all on his own there. When it is time to go back to school where is Fluffy? This is a level 3 book, and is a great bedtime read with your little one.

Fluffy is the class guinea pig. It is spring vacation and Fluffy will spend it at Emma's house. Vacation is a fun time, but, Fluffy is in for a surprise when she meets the two cats, Jack and Jill that live there. This vacation is filled with excitement and vacation. I enjoyed Kate McMullan's writing style and the way she formatted her book with mini chapters. Thus, making it a good bedtime book that could be read over several days. I thought it was clever that the author used bold font to indicate Fluffy's internal monologue.

Zoey - thumbs up because it was super good

Robbie - thumbs sideways because it’s not good having Fluffy lost but it’s kinda good because he had an adventure
