Cowboy Joel Kaye has ambitions as big as Texas. And after decades away, rodeo glory seems finally within reach. But when two little boys “hire” him to work on their ranch, Joel can't turn them down. He tells himself it's only for one week, but widow April Landers and her family soon begin to fill a void in the rodeo rider's scarred heart. April lives for her three kids–and the ranch she's fighting fiercely to keep. This determined mama's not looking for another wandering partner. Will this ready–made family inspire Joel to put down roots…for good?Rodeo Heroes: Only love can tame these cowboys.

I very much enjoyed A Rancher For Their Mom a Rodeo Heroes series by Leann Harris. April Landers got the property when her husband and his parents had passed away. The land was in his family for years. April has a little girl and two boys. She is having a hard time running it by herself when her hired hand injured himself and not able to work. Joel Kaye is a rodeo cowboy. Joel goes out to Aprils place to pick up to horses for the rodeo. Her kids all like him. The next day when he is picking up feed for the rodeo the two boys ask him if they can hire him to work at the farm for a week since the rodeo was taking it easy this week getting ready for the rodeo next week. They paid him a dollar thirty, all the money the two boys had. April is surprised when Joel shows up the next day. Joel plows and plants hay and sunflowers and does odd and end around the farm. April and Joel have feeling for each other but April can't have any more children and Joel wants his own child. A must read to see what happens.
This is a sweet little family, the girl is adorable and it was cute that the boys were the ones who hired Joel, but this just felt a bit too much like the family falling in love with Joel and Joel falling in love with the family and less a romance between the two adults.
For me, there weren’t enough conversations between April and Joel that didn’t involve minding the kids, conversations that were just them getting to know each other. I guess their lack of personal conversations made it pretty easy to throw a certain conflict in there towards the end since the two had barely discussed anything despite the sudden escalation of their relationship, but the lack of personal conversations between them also made it challenging for me to feel chemistry or love develop.
When I read a single parent story, I definitely want to see the newcomer to the family genuinely care for the kids, that’s essential to buying into the happy ever after, this was successful at that, however, when it’s a romance novel, it’s also essential to see the couple falling in love instead of just being told they’re in love and feeling like, well, did I miss something here?
This didn’t quite get the balance of romance mixed in with the family stuff that I was looking for, but if you are in the mood for something that’s mostly a gentle family story, this might work better for you than it did for me.
This is light reading and you know right from the title how it turns out, but the boys in it made it somewhat interesting and a heartwarming read. I thought it wasn't very realistic though because who gets married after knowing someone for just two weeks? (Karen's review)
This was the second book in Leann Harris's Rodeo Heroes series. This was a sweet read. The kids in the book make the story. The boys hire rodeo cowboy, Joel Kaye, to help their widowed mom on the ranch, for the going rate of $1.30.
This is the 1st book I read by Leann Harris. I loved ❤️ this book's storyline. I loved ❤️ the Christian ✝️ theme in this story. I loved ❤️ April's character. I loved ❤️ Wes, Todd, & Cora. I loved ❤️ Joel's character. I loved ❤️ the ending. Awesome job Ms. Harris.

If you want a nice story with adorable kids, READ. THIS!! The children in this story were just the cutest. And the little girl melted my heart.
You won't come across one character not to like. And the cowboy is just a dream.
The story itself is a nice quick read. The romance wasn't instantenious, but the main characters do fall in love in the span of two weeks and get engaged (although that only holds but an hour. but two months later they DO get to start on their happily ever after.)
The religious theme was there, but didn't take over the story.
This books is for everyone who likes cowboys, children in their stories and is a hopeless romantic looking for an easy read.
I loved this charming book. A cowboy needed a job and he finds a ranch to work on. He thinks he will only stay a short time because this is his habit to travel around the rodeo circuit. But he falls in love with the the widow April and her three children. She is worried about her life also and her ranch and they both seem to need a second chance for a nice life. So they trusted each other and have a happy ending. Also the Lord works in mysterious ways which I loved in the theme of this book. A joyful read.

This has to be one of my favorite books EVER! The kids stole the show for me in this. Lots of laugh out loud moments and also some moments that pulled on the heartstrings. I really wish I could give this more than 5 stars. If you're looking for a sweet, tender, and heartwarming romance then this book is for you!
I received this book for free from Goodreads First Reads. The story of Joel and April touched my heart. I finished the book in one day. Needless to say I did not want to put it down. This book was wholesome and touching.
Superb Book!! As usual her characters are lovable, realistic, and their depth is very real. I love that her story doesn't have perfect people and that they struggle through their challenges yet depending on prayer and Christ they are always able to work through them! How more real life can you get!
If u are looking for a good old fashion love story with its ups &downs this is it. Often we pray for Gods help yet when He delivers we either dont see it or run from it! Great reminder to let go and let God!
I was a lucky winner of this book here on goodreads.com. This book was an excellent heart warming story that was hard to put down. I look forward to reading more Leann Harris books in the future!!
This was a very good romance story. Two young boys want to find a husband for their widowed Mom and a Dad for them and their little sister.A heartwarming story.
"The kids will capture readers’ hearts in this tale that reminds us that prayers are always answered, just perhaps not in the way we anticipate" (RT Book Reviews, 4 stars).
