And you’ll find them in The Solomon Secrets . Thousands of years ago the wisest, wealthiest, and most powerful man of his day compiled a book filled with practical insights for success in every area of parenting, marriage, vocation, relationships, self-control, and money management, just to mention a few. Yet Solomon’s collection of Proverbs remains one of the must neglected books in the Bible.

To a modern reader, these simple directions might seem illogical. But God’s wisdom as articulated by Solomon is “ uncommon sense for extraordinary success.” This ancient wisdom holds the key to achieving and enjoying the things we want most in life.

"A dream without a plan is only a wish. You need a specific road map that will take you from where you presently are to freedom in your finances, fulfillment in your family life, success in your vocation, and intimacy with God." (Robert Jeffress, The Solomon Secrets, Page 17)

This book has what the author has labelled 10 Keys to Extraordinary Success from Proverbs. He starts off with Solomon's Secret #1, which is having a vision and articulating clearly defined goals to reach that vision. In other words, "having a plan." And it is not enough just to have it in your head. It is imperative that you take what is in your head and write it down and list the steps it is going to take to reach each goal. The author has provided space for you to do this both in the book and in the study guide in the appendix in the back of the book.

The 10 keys to extraordinary success that the author expounds upon in this book are:

1. Establish specific goals for your life;
2. Persevere when you encounter failure;
3. Build financial security;
4. Listen to your critics;
5. Keeping yourself sexually pure;
6. Guard your mouth;
7. Control your anger;
8. Train up your children in the way they should go;
9. Be humble, not prideful; and
10. Fear God.

You have to keep in mind that this is a baptist pastor who has written this book, so it is written from a Christian perspective and his target audience are believers. He starts each chapter off with a proverb of Solomon and then expounds upon it using he own unique perspective. He relates how Chapter 8 probably doesn't apply to many people who do not have children, but put it in anyway, because it was important and advises his readers that they could skip it and move on to the next chapter.
