Gabriel Carter is the biggest, cockiest asshole I've ever met. He's six-foot-three inches of ex-baseball player--sexy muscles and smoldering looks that turn my body into a traitorous mess. Did I mention he's also the reason business at my family's hotel is quickly going down the drain? I shouldn't want him, but try explaining that to my body. Especially after he proposes a business deal to me that will be mutually rewarding--both financially and sexually. Sleep with the enemy? Nah, I'll just marry the bastard instead.

Well, I feel a bit silly right now, I dont wanna use other harder word to describe my sentiment cause well, honestly I never do think badly about myself...lol

But it is my mistake, alone...for not checking the details of this story, as for intance, seeing the number of pages, and now too late, realizing that this is a fucking NOVELLA...

As it being a novella, it was all in all a quite disappointing experience for me.

And I feel kinda cheated on by such a deliberately description in the blurb...making me expect MORE... quite a bit MORE from everything...the storyline, the characters...action

All I truly got from this story was INSTA shit.

INSTA. Fucking. Everything.

Marriage of convenience as a subject never felt lamer as it did here, and all cause of INSTA moments, thus making this whole package completely non-believable, ridiculous and just...meh

ARC received from authors for an honest review

Thrust Under is a sweet, sexy, quick read that is a perfect way to occupy a couple of hours.

Maggie and Gabe's story is light and albeit predictable, however that does not make it any less enjoyable.

I adore the spark and banter between them, knowing that in a minute they are either going to be fighting or kissing.

I will say though, that at first Maggie irritated me. Blaming others for something that was her fault just made me want to shake some sense into her, esp when that carried over. But this could just have been me. She may or may not have seen the error of her ways.

Right from the start we the reader knows where this story is going to end up - it was fun to be taken on the ride though!

This is the first collaboration of Ms Valentine and Ms Snow that I have read, but it won't be the last.

My days are a bit hectic so I picked up this book (I am not gonna lie, this cover is hot) - and read it with one sitting position. I really enjoyed the storyline. Sure, it was a rush but I didn't care. Insta lust, insta love with lovely characters. Sex scenes weren't too much so I am happy with my experience. I wasn't expecting anything more honestly.

I always know how much I miss these two authors in my life when I pick up one of their books, devour it in its entirety in one sitting, and close the book with a satisfied smile on my face because I got something well written and fun. Thrust Under is a quick read yet fun, sexy and completely fulfilling.
Gabe and Maggie are thrust into each other’s lives when Maggie is trying to escape her ex and kisses this single guy at a party not realizing he is her family’s biggest competitor owning the glamorous hotel next door to her family’s failing hotel.
Despite her reluctance sparks fly and Gabe offers her a proposition she can’t refuse.
While predictable, I LOVE the heat and sexy times, the banter and most of all that these two authors write so seamlessly that you can’t even tell two different people wrote it. Very few authors can do that but this duo has been friends for a long time and have “perfection” down pat.
I love their words and I want more!!

Don't you love when two authors you adore come together, and write a book that you instantly fall in love with? Michele Valentine and Emily Snow are a force to be reckoned with. They combined their book magic and wrote one enchanting story. If I had one wish it would be for more from this amazing duo.

Maggie returns to her families resort in Hawaii after  years of being away in the military. She is surprised to see that someone has opened one right next to her families'. She quickly becomes concerned with her parents financial struggles that she knew nothing about. The other resort seems to be doing very well, and offers a great vacation experience. On her first night back she goes with a friend to the "other" resort, and sees her ex. He kind of broke her heart and is the reason she left in the first place. She grabs a handsome stranger and convinces him quickly to kiss her. It does the trick and her crisis is averted. Shortly after the mind blowing smooch, and some other naughty stuff she finds out that her knight in shining armor is the owner of the "other" resort, and the reason her families business isn't doing so swell. She get's super angry, and tells him off with a glass of champagne. The stranger who goes by Gabe is an ex baseball player pursuing his dream, and wants to expand, but needs to look more stable since he has a bit of a playboy reputation. Maggie is the answer to his problem, and the only one he wants in his bed. When he propositions Maggie she thinks it's a joke, but the more she thinks about what he offers the more she realizes it's not the worst idea. Will Gabe be able to convince Maggie to marry him, and be the only one in his bed? Or will she say no, and never satisfy her curiosity?

I loved the plot of this book. It was fun, and intriguing. It was nice to see two characters from totally different backgrounds, and experiences come together to find something special in one another. The setting couldn't be more perfect, and I would of loved to see what had inspired this story. Maggie and Gabe had great chemistry, and with not many flaws the book wasn't angst filled, or sad. There weren't any hidden surprises, but without that I was able to get the characters, and understand what they wanted from one another. Without realizing it they were his with the lust turned love bug, and it put a cheesy grin on my face.

While reading I was unsure if this was going to be a stand alone. If it wasn't then that would of been fine with me. I could of read another entire book about this couple happily. Saying that I would love to see more from Michelle and Emily. A spin-off, entire separate book, the phonebook. After reading Thrust Under, I'd read anything by these two. I am definitely recommending this one to anyone who loves a fun romance.

Maggie returns home after serving her term of enlistment with the Army to discover her family’s hotel is in jeopardy. When her best friend drags her next door to a party at the competitor’s hotel, Maggie meets Gabriel when trying to make her ex jealous. Now she’s mixed up with the enemy but she can’t seem to stay away. Especially when he proposes a business deal that might solve her problems financially as well as sexually.

“You’re the only woman on this island I want to watch do that – blush all over when I’m speaking to you. Kissing you. Fucking you. Think about how much fun it will be, mixing business and pleasure, when I’m buried deep inside your pussy. Making you come again and again.”

The sexual tension between Gabe and Maggie pretty much exploded off the page. Gabe never found a woman that he was even interested in more than one night but with Maggie…that man cannot stop pursuing her with a one tracked mind. I liked that Maggie seemed like a level headed heroine. There’s nothing I hate more than a wishy washy girl and she definitely held her own in this story. Especially when paired up with Gabe. He was use to women throwing themselves at him. Not Maggie! She told him to get lost I don’t know how many times. It was fun to see all the push and pull between these two. I really was sucked into will they…won’t they….? I just wanted more of them!

If you love a good story with a feisty heroine and sexy guy, you will love the rapport between Gabe and Maggie. It’s a quick read that leaves you with a smile at the end.

Michelle A. Valentine and Emily Snow must work together again because this book was amazing! The authors did a great job when they wrote Thrust under. I wouldn't be able to tell which author wrote whose point of view if it weren't for a mention of Black Falcon. Each author has a unique writing style, but they were blended together in a good way and there were no bumps in the road. Gabe had some moments where he made me chuckle and Maggie might not have been perfect, but she was good. Overall, I am happy with the way both of them acted even if Gabe's irrational behavior, in the end, made me feel a little off. Where was the man who told some dudes to stop staring at this future wife (and note that the said wife didn't know a thing about that proposal)? I wanted him to go for what was his. In my opinion, Gabe's character got worse (not much though, no worries) and Maggie's got better. I liked her.

I was a little worried about the business Maggie's parents owned because Gabe and his resort were a threat to them, but the authors worked everything out and the result was something that made me happy. I was very satisfied with the book and I hope that soon we will have a second one coming. Maggie's friend needs her own book. Can we please have it?

Two amazing authors coming together for one fantastic story!

I love these two author but them writing together? WOW! This is quick but it's worth every minute you spend reading it. Even though it's a novella it makes every page count and doesn't lack for anything.

Gabe is so sexy. His flirt game is strong and he brings it in every scene he is in. Maggie is a little hesitant and rightfully so but when she comes around these two have great chemistry.

If you like the quick but amazing stories then this one is for you. I hope these two work together again because this so good with this book.

Just can’t do it anymore. The whole thing is just silly. The heroine attitudes towards the hero is just so immature. I am sorry to say, but if you don’t make improvements and fix broken things in your hotel than sure you will not be booked. Now, I understand the big better one (hero’s resort) may have added to heroine’s family hotel failure. But business is business and to blame others for your losses is terrible professionalism. And keeping in mind she was away for 3 years serving in the army. Coming back thinking that time would stand still while she was gone is SILLY. Being rude to the other hotel owner is SILLY. Accusing him of causing her parents hotel problems it’s SILLY. Saying to him to move his hotel somewhere else is SILLY. Her parents don’t have the money to invest in their hotel anymore. They had zero budget to make improvements and fix things that were broken. The hero could move his hotel to the moon and her parents hotel would still be in deep shit. She’s SILLY and not intelligent. But one thing she could have done: stay behind and not run away like a weak pathetic little girl because she caught her bf cheating. That’s SILLY. The only think redeeming her in my eyes is that she was serving in the army. Everything else about her is SILLY.
In this scenario her folks should have already sold. But this is not my book, neither my story. And if I can’t connect or sympathize with female character the story doesn’t interest me. And that old saying: two heads think better than one doesn’t apply to this book. Just too silly, too immature and not a very bright heroine.

The Fantastic Two!

Ahhhh, when all the good stuff is wrapped up pretty in a nice little ebook.

Thrust Under - a short story written by two extra talented authors, so when you put them together, you get an explosive story.
I honestly knew that this was going to be excellent and it exceeded my expectations. Come on, Michelle A. Valentine and Emily Snow, I adore these two authors and this was no surprise other than the fact that they co-wrote a story together - excellent surprise.

This quick read is chock full of interest and intrigue from beginning to end. Maggie and Gabe are two people that I loved reading about.
Maggie comes back home and meets Gabe - so deliciously hot yet freezing cold and then the plot kicks in more, the story brings you shock and smiles and ...I think you know where I’m going with this. Lots and lots of different emotions, unbeatable chemistry and finally, big changes happenening in both their lives that were completely unexpected. Their characters were captivating from the beginning and all the way through.

“See, I’m not all bad, am I?” My grin returns, and she snorts. “Don’t let it go to your head, Carter.”

I swallowed this book in one night and I was definitely not let down. It was so easy to do and satisfying.

3.8 this is an enjoyable treat that you can have for a few hours in your free time. Gabe and Maggie have that instantaneous sexual attraction but that’s the only reason they’re getting up close and comfortable with one another in such a short time span. I want to believe that it doesn’t matter how long you know someone that determines your feelings and hearing their story proves that point. The story flowed wonderfully and left me with a huge smile on my face, who doesn’t love a HEA. Great read and recommend you pick up a copy for yourself. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Audiobook Review:
Overall 3.5*
Performance 4*
Story 3*

Quick, easy listen.
3.5*

Thrust Under is a quick, easy, sexy little story.
I liked the enemies-to-lovers aspect, as well as the fake relationship that was mutually beneficial for both Maggie and Gabe. There was some fun back and forth as they got to know each other, and an undeniable chemistry between them. Maggie fought the attraction, on principle alone, but as hard as she tried, Gabe was just too irresistible.
Things were a little predictable but didn't detract from me enjoying the story. I was very surpised, though, with Gabe at one point- I found his reaction a little out of charcter and it disappointed me, to be honest. But at least things weren't dragged out, although with a novella there's not much dragging you can do!

I enjoyed Meghan's narration. I liked how she was able to give each of the characters their own distinctive voices, without any of them being over the top. Her male voice/s were very well done. Although you could tell a female speaking the parts, she didn't try to make her voice crazy deep, which can sometimes sound ridiculous. As you listened, especially during chapters in Gabe's pov, you kind of forgot it was a woman doing the narrating and just got lost in the story.
I look forward to finding more books she's narrated.

Maggie returns home to find her families hotel in total chaos and needing major upkeep while their competition is thriving. Her best friend wants to do a welcome back party and what better way to do it with free drinks, not realizing the man she boldly flirts with is the man who owns the hotel that is rivaling her parents hotel.

Gabe Carter is ready for the next phase of his hotel, the only problem is the investors thinks he is a playboy. They would not be far off but he has calmed his bad boys days and knows he has what it needs to make his hotel a destination spot that could rival any hotel. When he comes up with a plan that involves the spitfire, Maggie, who hates him he quickly begins to think everything is going to be alright but what happens when he falls for the girl?

This was a lot of fun. The chemistry is off the charts and I liked that Maggie has this old boyfriend who keeps trying to slink his way back into her life. Great read, perfect for the last days of summer.

What a great read Thrust Under is!! Once I started it I could not put it down. I truly enjoyed this one. This collaboration between Michelle Valentine and Emily Snow was so well done. Thrust Under is about Maggie Kinsella, a beautiful veteran returning to her island home of Hawaii after having fled from it after her heart was broken by her boyfriend Ryan (Jerk with a capital J!!), and Gabriel "Gabe" Carter, a gorgeous former baseball player who has a very naughty high profile past with the ladies, but who now owns the grand hotel right next to Maggie's parents' hotel, and their decision to help each out for their mutual benefit. However, Maggie and Gabe soon find out that their interest in each other may not just be all about mutual business benefits, there maybe some very personal ones, such as love, involved in their relationship as well. Their journey may have started out on a not so great path with roadblocks and trust issues, but it was a ride that taught the two of them that love is love no matter how long or short a time you take to realize it, and that not everyone is who he or she may appear to be.

Maggie and Gabe were absolutely perfect together! Maggie was feisty, independent, strong, and just an all around great heroine. And Gabe!! Oh Gabe!! Gabe is every woman's dream. Not only is the man gorgeous, but he also knows how to treat a lady right!! You want to talk about a swoon-worthy hero...well, hello, Gabe!!

After having thoroughly enjoyed Thrust Under and all of the characters, well except Ryan, that were introduced to me in this story, I am seriously hoping that Lani, Maggie's best friend, who is a great BFF, gets her own book, because I really think that a certain someone who will remain nameless for now, but whose name starts with a K (read the book to find out who I am talking about!!) needs someone like Lani in his life. So, I shall wait to see what these two ladies have in store for us readers next, because I really enjoyed Thrust Under. Well done!!

Family...Chemistry...Sparks flying....Hawaiian Heat...Enemies to Lovers..neighbors... What more could you ask for in a book!!!!

In this collaboration by two New York Times and USA Today best selling authors, Michelle A. Valentine and Emily Snow, you get a fast paced, romantic, steamy, how does this end story that will cause you to have a death grip on your book/device in their book Thrust Under.

Just by the title, Thrust Under, you can only imagine what you're going to get, and these two ladies together deliver!!! I enjoyed this quick read that I couldn't put down. The easy flow, no extreme "heavy" material, with a side of banter, is what makes this book. So well written. Dueling point of views.

Gabe is the ex-player who started a new career a year ago in the hotel business.

Maggie just returned home from running from her problems years ago.

First night back and find herself in the arms of Gabe, who she quickly finds out is the man who is ruining her family's hotel business. Things go haywire from there on out. But when Gabe makes a proposition to save them both, what could possibly go wrong in a business marriage with someone you hate?

If you're in the market for a fun, sweet, romantic, quick read, this is the one for you. Well done!!!!

The Ex Baseball Player/Business Cocky Man and the Woman Veteran .. who would have thought the unusual pair could act like a pair so they both get what they desire .. financial future .. but when a financial future isn’t enough and an Ex Boyfriend doesn’t know when NO means NO !!

Maggie comes home after a 5 year deployment to find her family hotel in desperate need of repairs .. can she handle the repairs all by herself since her dads health is failing or can a certain someone offer a solution she just can’t refuse ??

Gabe came to the island after his baseball career ended too soon so he took his skills his grandpa gave him and started his own hotel but when it impacts Maggie’s family hotel who know what she will do ??

Can Maggie get over Gabe’s cockiness and let a friendship bud or will Ryan her ex .. the reason she left all those years ago .. come back in the picture and push Gabe away ??

The twists and turns in this book make you think that sometime true love will push through and shine BUT we all know it takes time and energy to make things work and does Maggie have enough umppp to get through the past memories so she can make new ones !!

Such an inspiring .. Yes You Can book !! Love can shine through .. if you feel it in your heart ❤️

This was such a great collaboration between these two amazing authors! It is a super fun, sexy and quick read that will leave you smiling ear to ear for sure. Maggie and Gabe are both awesome characters that are just so likable. Their initial meeting was incredibly hot and steamy, until it wasn't, when Maggie realized who he was. It was at this time I was just a little annoyed with her because he definitely told her his full name, she just didn't hear it. But in her defense she was a little distracted by his all consuming hotness. Love the plan he comes up with to help them both just as I love the back and forth between Maggie & Gabe throughout. They just have so much undeniable chemistry, there is no way they can get around it. Gabe is certainly so much more than Maggie first thinks he is. The story line was very good as well as being flowy and easy and I just really enjoyed it! And as a fan, of course I adored the shout out in Chapter 6!! I certainly hope we get more awesomeness from these two authors!!

Although this was a quick, easy, and predictable read, I still enjoyed it. It was sweet, sexy, with a strong female, and a cocky male.

I won't lie, at the beginning, Maggie got on my nerves. She wasn't fully paying attention when she was talking to the stranger and once she found out who he actually was, she blew up on him as if it were his fault they were in that situation. I understand her anger towards him (outside of the initial first meet-up) and her reluctance to want to be with him. I was even proud of her for holding firm about not being with him until something happens where she has to make a decision.

I liked Gabe. He was flirty, cocky, sexy, and even though his motives at first were skewed he was kind and caring. Sure, he acted first before asking questions, but we've all been there. At least he was man enough to apologize. So yes, I did like his character.

All in all, this was a good read.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review. Thanks Michelle and Emily!

Thrust Under was a super easy and fun listen. It has all the elements that "thrust" you right into the storyline. The authors didn't waste any time with backstory. Nope, instead, you were right along with Maggie as she returns home. She's immediately faced with a dynamic problem that not only has the power to hurt her, but also her parents.

Enter Gabe! Oh, swoon...Gabe is the absolute best. Cocky and perfection, but just the right amounts. A deal is made and that's when the sparks fly.

Valentine and Snow add the perfect mix of angst and chemistry to make this a powerful listen. The quick pace kept me intrigued rooting for Maggie and Gabe.

The narration is spot on pulling out the description of the characters. Highly recommended from HJ Bellus!

Maggie has just returned from being overseas while enlisted to help save her family's Hawaiian hotel which is going under fast due to the new Elite hotel that was built next door. Her ex-boyfriend is a cheating liar who sets his sights on her again. Gabe, the owner of the Elite hotel, has other ideas, however.
This is a good story. The characters are interesting and funny. Their instant attraction for each other feels very rushed, however. It would have been nice to have more of a build-up to their relationship. Although predictable, this is a good, fast read that should not disappoint the reader.

I think Gabe just wants to feel needed by his woman, "...I love your independence— eff, I love your independence— but I don’t mind doing the heavy lifting for you.” Gabe likes to make his preferences known, “panties are overrated as far as I’m concerned.” He tosses the lace down on the floor along with my dress before he turns his warm gaze on me. “I prefer you like this. Naked and ready for me. You’re the sexiest effing thing I’ve ever seen.” I loved this book, it was such a fun read I fell in love with Gabe.

Review by Lisa Kane

I wish Michelle Valentine and Emily Snow would collaborate on more stories together! They are both so talented individually, but when they team up...

Maggie is determined to return to her home in Hawaii and help to salvage her parents' hotel. She left town years ago, actually she ran off once she found her boyfriend cheating with someone close to her. She joined the service and hasn't been back since.

She had no idea just how bad things have been for her folks. It seems the resort next door is owned by a cocky ex jock named Gabe and is putting her family out of business.

Her first night back in town leads to an hot but awkward encounter between Maggie and Gabe. Can I just tell you how much of a douche her ex is and how she needs to squash that annoying gnat?

Maggie has made quite the impression on Gabe and he knows he has his work cut out for him-he may have been a player's player but he has a good heart.

Thrust Under is hot and steamy and has a great story line. Please team up and keep writing more!!

I’ve been a fan of Michelle Valentine’s work for years. This is my first time reading Emily Snow, but I can guarantee I’ll be checking out her other works. Gabe Carter was one dirty hot alpha. And Maggie was feisty and didn’t take Gabe’s sh**. Totally fell in love with the nod to the Black Falcons. ::sigh:: Riff. They were what made me fall in love with Michelle’s reading and one of my first rocker reads. Excellent job ladies thank you

Awwww I really liked this one. It was cute. And the h wasn’t a brainless moron with zero lady labias. She was pretty awesome. And even though there was an event of miscommunication, they WORKED IT OUT LIKE ADULTS. Ya know, cuz a lot of times romance authors forget that adults can work shit out with words. I like that.

Sleeping with enemy takes on a whole new meaning. Gabe and Maggie are my introduction to another great author. Thrust Under is a tale built on heat, misunderstandings and heart. With characters as fiery as Maggie and Gabe, it's only fitting that Meghan Kelly bring her spirited deliver on board for this sexy escapade. Valentine and Snow chose well and created a perfect fit.
