I’m excited! Another box set to add to my collection
And this one is chock-full of six hunky men who protect and love their women--
Against all odds.
They love fiercely… Is it enough?

Oh, I just love finding all these guys all together in one place!
Bottom line: Really good reads, and an amazing deal. There were a few inaccuracies in the narrative… but otherwise, I loved every minute of this. 5 stars.

I purchased a copy in August 2017 and received a free copy of VanGuard Security The Prequel in the box set by SJ Bishop and this review was given freely.
Navy Seal Kirk bumps into his first love, Journalist Sidney, while searching for his brother in post war Vietnam. This is a well balanced novella filled with intrigue, action, some violence, and a little steamy romance. The strong, sensitive and at times rash side of Kirk's personality is portrayed while introducing the more cautious and cerebral side of his best buddy and wingman Martin.

The novella opens with the heart wrenching scene of Martin admitting his mother to a nursing home. Martin meets Vanessa, former Mafia heiress and soon to be college graduate, when he joins his old Navy Seals Commander Phillip's bodyguard agency. The author uses vivid descriptions without being excessively graphic to relay action, violence, death, an unplanned pregnancy and a steamy romance with a happy ending.

Retired Navy Seal and VanGuard IT man Franklin meets Lauren who was artificially inseminated with sperm Franklin donated 10 years ago. A former IT whiz and terrorist escapes from jail to exact revenge. The resulting novel is complex, action packed,constantly changing, and full of violence.

IT guru Ned falls for his abandoned neighbor and single mom, Stacey. Ned shows he is more than just a computer tech as he saves Stacey from her ex, Emil, and helps to capture some criminals.
This novel is action packed, contains violence, and contains multiple steamy scenes culminating in a happy ending.

I have to say that there's nothing more exciting to me than a security company of ex-military heroes who find love, and Vanguard Security was filled with that & I LOVED it hard. It's a box set filled with all kinds of exciting action packed situations with twists coming in hot, mouthwatering heroes & strong heroines, and heat in spades.

Kirk:
Kirk broke Sidney's heart when he left her behind without warning to become a SEAL. They come face to face again when he's in Vietnam looking for his brother & she's also there as a journalist. She's not happy about knowing he's there so let the games begin.

Martin:
Martin has taken a job with Vanguard Security to pay for his mother's assisted care, and that's how he ends up guarding Vanessa, daughter of an ex-mobster, and little does he know that she's not at all what he was expecting.

Cruz:
Cruz is back in London when promoted to Vanguard International Division, and he learns that his sister has died & he now has custody of her five year old son. Amelia is a crime novelist who is in London to research Jack the Ripper for a new book. She finally goes out with Cruz when things get dicey.

Franklin:
Franklin is a single father, and employed at Vanguard Security. Lauren wanted a baby so she went to the sperm bank to do so, and when things in her life, she goes looking for Franklin. That's all I'll say about that.

Ned:
Ned is our resident tech guy for the company, and Stacey is the single mother living next door to him. She's going through the fire & is having a really hard time taking care of her baby which is how these two start out.

Emil:
I wasn't a huge fan of Emil to be honest, and since I don't want to give spoilers away, I won't tell you why. He ends up at Vanguard Security because of a choice he's given after his questionable choices. Cassandra is an amazing heroine who works at Vanguard Security, and ends up with Emil as her new duty.

So yeah, there's a little something for everyone in this box set, and I CANNOT WAIT to read more by this author. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Read in a few days could not put down! Fast, action packed, dramatic, emotionally stunning, romantic adventures that will leave you breathless.

Kirk a sexy, charming, intelligent, hot alpha male SEAL on a personal mission to find his brother that went missing years ago. Sidney is sweet, sexy and the girl he left behind with a broken heart to enlist with out telling her. She is now a journalist looking to expose the real reasons why the US is still sending soldiers to Vietnam. Old wounds rip open when they run into each other unexpectedly but the heat of the attraction they share has survived the years they spent hurting (missing each other).

Martin and Vanessa have an explosive attraction that sparks bright and will not be denied. He is so alpha male protective, strong and cunning and she is head strong, sassy and just so much trouble in a delectable package. Work may be the reason he fights what they both so clearly want for a short few seconds but the attraction is to strong to ignore for long. Loved all the heart pounding twists and turns. Awesome read!

Cruz is a crazy sexy, smart, scary alpha male in charge of the new international division of Vanguard Security. The very last thing he needs is a sexy, sweet, sassy true crime novelist snooping around and keeping him up at night with desires he has to ignore. While settling in to his new job he also has to deal with the devastating loss of his sister and learning to care for his nephew. Loving this series!

This series started out really good. The first 3 stories were well written and great reads. But with 4 & 5 it just kind of went downhill then 6 saved the series. Here are my reviews for each of them.
KIRK
This is definitely not the kind of story that we have come to expect with S.J. Bishop but it was still good.
10 years ago Kirk Houston broke Sidney's heart when he left, with no notice, to join the Navy and try to find his missing brother.
Now Kirk is a Navy Seal and in Vietnam, the last place his brother was known to have been, and he is hoping that this time he will find him.
And Sidney is an American journalist also in Vietnam and when she discovers that Kirk is also there, all of the old feelings come back with full force. All the pain, anger and even the love that she felt for him, the one she has never been able to get over or replace, and she wants nothing to do with him.
But when Kirk learns that there is a man supposedly being held by the Gorillas, who looks like him, he believes it is his brother and he is bound and determined to find out if it is true. Only Sidney thinks that it is a setup and refuses to let him go alone and accompanies him on his dangerous mission.
What happens next? You will have to read it to find out.

MARTIN
Martin is a Navy Seal who has to put his mom into a nursing home and in order to pay for it, he has taken a job with Vanguard Security as a bodyguard for Vanessa Genovese, daughter of ex-mobster, Marco Genovese. While Martin was expecting a spoiled little girl with pigtails, a daddy's little princess," he was in for the shock of his life. His biggest problem now isn't if he will be able to keep the hot temptress safe from the La Familia," and alive, but whether he will be able to keep his word to her father and honor the morals contract he signed.
Even though she knows that she is in danger, especially after her mother was killed, Vanessa doesn't want another bodyguard. After all, she just ditches them every time her father hires one. But Martin just might be the one that she lets stick around. Especially if there is any chance that she can break that iron will and get him to finally give into her seduction.
This book has it all. It has parts that keep you on the edge of your seat. It will make you laugh and, at times, cry. And it definitely has the HOT stuff.
This is my favorite story, by this author, so far and can't wait for the next book in this series!

CRUZ
S.J. Bishop has done it again! Cruz is the second book in the Vanguard Security Series and is so worth reading.
Cruz is a former Navy Seal just promoted to Vanguard International Division in London who, upon arriving in London, learns that his sister Heidi has just died of a heart problem and he now has custody of her 5-year-old son that he didn't even know existed. And Amelia is a crime novelist who is in London to research Jack the Ripper for a novel she is writing. And maybe it's because of what she writes but she doesn't quite believe that Heidi's death is what they are being told. But when she finally agrees to go out with Cruz and someone shoots at them things really get interesting.
This is one of those stories that once you start you won't want to put it down. It has everything from mystery to murder to romance and characters that you will love. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

FRANKLIN
Franklin is a widower, a single dad to Gina, a former Navy Seal, and a member of Vanguard Security. After leaving the Navy Seals, he needed money and went to a sperm bank. Now 10 years later a lady shows up at his house in the middle of the night pregnant with his child.
Lauren has decided that she wants to be a mom, but she doesn’t do it the traditional way, she goes to a sperm bank. Now 7 months later she has lost her job, is about broke and decides that she is going to travel from the U.S. to England to get the guy whose sperm she used to help her achieve her dream.
I won’t go into more detail about this, but I will say that just about the whole story is unbelievable. It was hard to follow and most of what happens in this will have you shaking your head and asking why and who really would allow this to happen? This would be one that you can't wait till it's over.

NED
Ned is a former Navy Seal who is now a tech geek for Vanguard Security.
Stacey is a single mom who lives in the apartment next to Ned. She is down on her luck. Her boyfriend/baby daddy had left them with nothing. She has sold everything of value that she has to take care of her infant daughter but has run out of money and food and her baby is crying uncontrollably from hunger and there is nothing she can do. And the crying is what brings Ned to her door to see if there is anything he can do to help. She doesn’t know Ned, but she must think of her daughter.
And of course, we have the ex-boyfriend, Emil, who is really a nice guy who has gotten into something that has, suddenly, turned him into a butthole. And now he is after Stacey to help someone else try to take over Vanguard.
This book is just not what I have come to expect from this author. It feels rushed and incomplete. And the main characters just don’t seem to belong together for anything long term.

EMIL
In this, the final book in the Vanguard series, Emil, whom we met in “Ned” and is Stacey’s ex, is given two choices. One, he can join Vanguard and basically help them catch his former friends or two, he can go to prison. Granted there are a few stipulations with the new job opportunity. He must wear an ankle bracelet so that he can be tracked at all times until he proves himself trustworthy. And he will be living with Cassandra, another Vanguard operative.
Cassandra works for Vanguard Security and is a single mom to a little girl named Kimmy. She gets the honor of being a mentor to Emil until he learns how to do his new job and earns the trust of the rest of the team. The bad thing is, that means that he will be staying at her house for the unforeseeable future.
I really liked this story. It was short but wasn’t as rushed as the last two. And I love the way that Emil is with Kimmy.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This was an amazing box set. It's packed full of steam.

Kirk-This is a quick fast pasted second chance romance with a HEA ending.
Kirk leaves for military and just disappears from Sidney's life. When there paths cross again all those old feeling are still there for both of them.
Martin-Martin is hired to protect Vanessa. He quickly learns he might be the one that needs protecting from her. The signed a Morality Clause is the only thing in his way of making her his.
Cruz-Cruz has just learned is sister is dead and he is the guardian of his nephew that's he's never met. And his sister's friend Amelia is just the girl to help him adjust.
Franklin-Franklin is a single dad. His wife died during child birth and he is determined to be single forever. That is until Lauren shows up on his doorstep pregnant with no place to go. Only problem is she's claiming the baby is his and he's never met her before.
Ned-Stacey doesn't know what to do. Her boyfriend has run out on her leaving her with no money or food for her or her baby. But she never expected her neighbor to come to her rescue.
Emil- Emil believes he will never amount to anything but a criminal. Only when Vanguard gives him a second chance to prove he can be a good man does he let himself start ton believe it. Cassandra is tasked with babysitting Emil only he ends up worming his way into her heart.

If you enjoy S.J. Bishop, you will love this box set.
We get to see every member of the team in their own spotlight and adventures, but of course they are all woven together as well. Previously, we only got to read about Kirk, Martin and Cruz, but now we also get Franklin, Ned and Emil!
I like each story individually for different reasons and I don't want to spoil anyone's fun getting to know these men and the women who they fall in love with for VERY different reasons. Some have deep history, some are put together by fate, some have to resist their feelings for legal reasons and fail to do so. Each story is good, each pairing is well-matched, each adventure is unique and of course S.J. brings the steamy love scenes we have come to expect and appreciate from her!

I have very few negatives, but the information on breastfeeding and baby care is not very accurate or good, which I notice and which frustrates me as that is my specialty, but if you can get past that, you'll enjoy the stories!

These books was filled with adventures, secrets, twist & turns, drama, plenty of sexy, charismatic romance and a labyrinth of emotions. The heroes were alpha, dominate (they are navy seals after all) cocky and possessive. The heroines were strong willed, smart woman who occasionally needed the help of the seals. The chemistry left you breathless and hot. It was well written and the way the descriptions were played out left you feeling as if you were there watching everything unfold. The love was a perfect balance with the rest of the storyline. Loved these stories.

An amazing box set of 6 hot and sexy seal's and ex-seal's and the beautiful women.
hot, hunk and sexy alphas male! Each story has suspense, action, but why only Kirk, Martin and Cruz stories. Each male has his well-matched Women and each adventure is unique. It's full of romance, some issues/bagage with bad attitudes, intriguing, captivating, enjoyable & hot.Romance with secrete babies and single dads. The characters are dynamic, refreshing and will keep you captivated and they know how to love and protect.

Why not the ones from Franklin, Ned and Emil ? Will that be for an other box ?

Though marvelously intertwined, these stories and men, are all separate in their endeavors and lives. Be it military or underworld crime, anything to keep their charges or their women secure, they are up to the task. It's exciting. It's scary. It's swoon worthy. The men running this security operation are sharp and focused, and I love everyone of them. Never a slow moment kept me entertained and enthralled through the entire collection!

In this book all of the ex navy seals are together along with the ones that were not detailed in the previous books. These books are inter-connected. You learn about Kirk and Sidney, Martin and Vanessa, Cruz and Amelia and you learn about Neil, Franklin and Emil. You will become so engrossed in these stories that you will not put it down until you have read the complete book. Grab your copy and take the journey. Enjoy, I did!

Vanguard Security was a great 5 star read.

This is a great collection of 6 books with hot alpha males.
Once you start reading you won't want to stop. You will be on the edge of your seat with suspense and so much more. I loved how protective the men were and how strong the women were as well. There are some hot and steamy scenes.

S.J. Bishop has once again pulled me into her world and this was a great compilation of this series.

I loved this box set!!

Each member of the Vanguard Security team has a story, and what a story they are! You get to see how they fell for just that right woman, when the time came. They protect them and save themselves in the process. They give each woman the attention they need while doing their jobs and helping out the team. Each team member helps the next save his woman from danger and keep her safe.

love these alphas! This is a great reunion for these guys. Sidney is the sweetheart that Kirk left behind without an explanation when he went on a quest to find out what happened to his missing brother. She is a journalist now and on her own quest investigating the u.s. military in Vietnam. These books are so well developed!!

The first book Kirk. I didn't care for. It seems like an amateur wrote it. There were several discrepancies like the author didn't do any research into the subject. It made for some confusion.

The remaining books were much better and actually had something to do with Vanguard Security where the first one didn't. I did enjoy the remaining books.

Awesome read! I could not put it down! Emotionally griping, action packed, edge of your seat heart pounding romantic adventure. The characters and storyline were amazing. Although it was a quick read, it was very entertaining reading experience and had me hooked from the very first book right up to the last two one! Thank you so much S J Bishop for another great read! I highly recommend this book!

Great book series

I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book and will definitely recommend it. I love how each character is in each of these books. My best two books were Ned and Emil's. The fact Ned took on being a father to another man's (Emil) baby was beautiful. But Emil getting a second chance at not only life but to be someone else's father when he was terrible to Stacey was even sweeter. Great series and a must read.

Another great read from S J Bishop thoroughly enjoyed reading this one haven't been disappointed in any of their books. Loved all these books about men and women falling in love and getting their happy ever after. Each story has a great storyline with drama, chemistry with lots of hot sexy scenes. Each of these books have a special story attached. From a lost brother to a sisters murder. The characters have a very sad history that brings them together with their lovers in the end. You’ll definitely love this series and be begging for more!
