Wolves Town

Rate this book
First among his people, wolf alpha Cooper Hayes is visiting another wolf's territory when he finds something he cannot live without. Only she has no idea who or what she really is.
He has two choices, he can walk away and leave her to possibly be found and claimed by the rightful First of her territory, or, he can take her.
He makes his choice in a heartbeat of time, taking her off the street and back to his lands and clan, where everyone does as their First commands.
Well...except Georgiana.

This is a quick, steamy read of about 23,000 words.
A stand alone with no cliff hangers, bad language and sexual situations.
If you like them quick and sexy with a hot alpha male who doesn't find claiming his mate quite as easy as he expects, this is the book for you.

Kelly Lucille is the author of paranormal and fantasy romance.
She has a B.A. Degree in Creative Writing and Literature from Naropa University.
Her first book "Keeping Her" published in July of 2013.

On a more personal note- I read my first romance novel: "Shanna" by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss when I was 13 years old. I still read it every year or so just to remember how amazing a really good romance novel can make you feel.

I’ve been not so patiently waiting for Eli’s story in Kelly Lucille’s Keeping Her Series. Thankfully she threw us a bone and released Wolves Town, a little novella that she’s had in the works for awhile. While not in the Keeping Her world, it has a whole new group of wolf shifters for me to ooh and Awe over.

Especially awe-worthy was Cooper, the alpha wolf who found his mate and just flat grabbed her and carried her away. It seems a bit extreme on the front end, but he had his reasons and eventually gets around to explaining them. He was alpha to his bones, extremely dominant, and sex on a stick. Yes, please.

Georgie is clueless as to what she actually is so is understandably pissed off when she gets kidnapped and carried off to a town in the middle of nowhere and kept there. I thought she handled herself rather well considering. She kept her head and didn’t panic, and she took every opportunity to escape that came, never giving up when she failed.

My one frustration was that Cooper disappeared and was away for several days with no explanation. This meant Georgie wasn’t told about what she was and why she was abducted for days. I guess it wouldn’t have been much of a book if she’d figured out what was what early on and was good with things, but still, it didn’t sit quite right.

One thing Georgie and Cooper had in spades was combustible chemistry. That whole mate bond thing can make things super hot and Ms. Lucille knows how to write a sexy scene.

This was short, sizzling, and gave me the little shifter tidbit I need to keep me in my paranormal happy place while I wait for Eli’s story.

An alpha shifter H kidnaps the heroine. She is kept in captivity with some sweet old couple in a cult like town which is actually a wolf town. The H then goes away while giving time to the h to adjust living with the wolfs.

She is captive for four or five weeks till the H comes back. But she doesn’t once try to escape when he is away. But as soon as the H comes and tells her that he will now take her at his home she tries to escape. Obviously they are failed attempts as the H catches her every time.

Honestly, I enjoyed this book. There was hardly anything not to like.
It’s short, it’s interesting and hot.

Shifter short

A couple typos didn't keep me from devouring this paranormal short story. The heroine has no idea about shifters and goes through a lot of reactions to her treatment.
This is an instalust story with not much to build a relationship on except thee magic. Satisfying but would read more in this world.

I rather like a shifter romance as a passtime, and i have no problem with adult content (though I tend to skip through it rapidly to get to the "real" content). I've read other books by the author which I rather liked, such as the Tellox books (rather pattern-drived entertainment, but no wrong with that, they are not copy-paste) or Journey's End. This however did not reach that level. The argument could have been pinned down to a couple of pages but that is not my biggest problem with the book.
Lucille's books abound with domineering alpha males trying to domineer their prospective mate. In other books I've found more of a woman's choice in this, the mate getting convinced of the alphas good qualities or being equally possessive herself. In this... the alpha kidnaps the female lead, thinking she knows she is /part/ shifter. He then places her in his Wolf Town, still with no explanations, time passes, the female lead still clueless. Though nothing has really been said about attraction, and less of love (they rarely see each other) the female lead at the end is more bothered that the male lead seems to want her for her omega abilities than for her person, and not for having kidnapped her. When she realizes he does want her she wants to stay. (But the male says he would not have let her leave even had she wanted to.) I see not progression of feeling or attraction (no, unexplicable queer feelings when getting bitten/nipped in random situations do not count) and few reasons for the woman even wanting to stay (should be the idyllical town in opposite to her system upbringing then, rather than the maile lead). This, to me, is more of a Stockholm syndrome than a romance.

Loved Cooper and Grorgie. A great shifter romance.

Georgie was heading off to work when she came face to face with the most intriguing man. She froze in place. Wanting him to see her and at the same time not. Then he sniffed her and the questions he asked made no sense. Then he not her. The next thing she knew she was in a small mountain town in the middle of a wolf preserve i the mountains of Colorado. While almost everyone is nice, the won't let her leave. The First 's orders, Cooper Hayes,.and he is no where to be found.
Georgia's escape attempts have resulted in capture at every try. Then the First returns. She has questions and he is withholding answers. When she makes an escape that puts her life in danger, Cooper is out of patience. It's time to explain about wolf shifters, packs, omegas , and mates.
Fast paced and a little steamy shifter romance.

This was a super quick read.

The description is a bit misleading… sort of. It makes it sound like the Hero meets the heroine and has to make a decision on whether he will take her from another wolf’s territory or leave her and risk her being found by another Alpha. And I guess that happened, but we are never reading from Cooper’s POV. And it takes him a split second to make this decision. It’s not something he thinks about and plans out. No he meets her and takes her all within the first couple pages of the book.

It’s funny how annoying it can be for a heroine to constantly be held against her will. But at the end when she capitulates I was right there with her. I hated that everyone was keeping her there and not explaining things. But when she made the decision to stop fighting I was in full support. I was ready for her to surrender to Cooper.

Not good. Great start! But it doesn’t last. The heroine would’ve been great but she’s kidnapped and despite making an attempt escape the hero is just too powerful. He’s over the top and lacks all communication skills.

I feel like this story would’ve been enjoyable if only he would explain to her what was happening from the start. But no. He’s a complete ass and she just accepts it. She more than accepts it. In the end she likes that he kidnapped her. Ummmm no thanks.

I couldn’t enjoy anything sexual going on between them so I just skimmed all that. He hero’s lack of empathy ruined the story for me.

Another very good short story from Kelly Lucille. I will always love how this author shows her stories,. She simply has that thing that hook us to the pages!

This story was short, full of confusion from the h and alpha waves from the H. I felt and understood the duallity of the h' situation, mind vs instincts, stand up for yourself vs giving in. She was kidnapped but the asshole alpha couldn't explain right away what was going on... Noooo... (That pissed me of and I wanted her to punch him in the balls....)

Still, 4 stars!

Would have been 4/5 star if he had actuAlly tried to get to know her.

Definitely not enough depth or interaction between the H/h. He kidnapped her then just left her for three weeks? Then with barely a conversation and absolutely no discussion of why he brought her there he wants to mate her? They no nothing about each other. Very unusual for this author who is normally one of my favorites.

Wolves Town

Good story but I wish it was longer! Cooper and Georgie were a great couple! The supporting characters were well written and I would have loved to learn more about them. Also you didn't get any kind of resolution concerning some very malicious behavior. I just felt the story was incomplete. Otherwise I hope to see a continuation of this thread. I would definitely read it.

Georgie has no idea why she is in Wolves Town and no one will tell her. Being kidnapped by the handsome man she ran into on the sidewalk was weird enough without being in a town where there were so many wolves all over the place.

It was an entertaining read and I wanted a little more of Cooper and his wolves. I hope we see more of this couple in the future!

Interesting

This is an interesting shifter story. I like Georgianna, but I'm not entirely sure that I like Cooper all that much. Maybe he would grow on me more in a longer book. However, I did like the story, so that's the important part.

Too short

I absolutely love this story!! But the ending,, left me a bit unsatisfied. I want to know more about the pack. About the pups, and all the other players on the mountain. I Hope this is the start of a new series!!!

Loved it!

Georgie is awesome and I loved everything about this story. From the first meeting to the end, I was invested in Cooper and Georgie’s relationship, and was drawn into the pack. This is an easy, feel good, read. Thank you Kelly!

it would have been been nice, if he tried to get to know her like she did him and his family, as well as, an epilogue would have been nice to give the story a completed ending.

Short read.

I think this is a novella - it wasn’t very long, and so there wasn’t a whole lot of development.
I quite liked the heroine’s personality and determination.
