I really hope they hurry and catch who is threatening their family. I knew by the time they got back to the lab it would be destroyed. So ready for Luke and his mate's story.
I never know what to expect with Alicia except the unexpected. This is the next installment in the Blackstone series. It surprised me with every turn of the page. Violet turned out to be this eccentric woman with a quiet strength that would level you in a storm. She is my favorite female character so far in the new series.
One is the loneliest number, and this applies to Violet and Nathan. Nathan is the lone bachelor left. you can't count Luke in the group. He's a grumpy lion, LOL. Nathan tries to cure his dry spell but his wolf isn't feeling it. I did figure that would come back and bite him in the rear.
Nathan had depth as a character. Alicia did a great job capturing how he feels and is misperceived a lot. He has a huge heart and it was neat to watch him think and act with his heart. This was one story I really wanted to throttle the girl and not the man! Nate put his heart out there and Violet tried to claw it up, and spit it out. I just wanted to hug Nate. He won me over with his good intentions. His execution...well that needed some work.
Nate's relationship with Kate was hilarious. I don't have siblings but the dynamic seems like a normal family bond. I did feel at the end of the day Kate would be there for her brother.
Violet is an extraordinary woman. I fell in love with her. She is so strong and has a guarded heart as big as the ocean. Oh, the secrets we learned about her. They will break your heart but it will be sewn together by Nathan and his love for her.
I actually enjoyed her interaction with Luke, while small, the dialogue between her and her tiger were fun to read about. While Luke was more dominant you could still feel through the pages just how dominant Violet is.
During this whole story, we got to see and experience the ballsiness and passion Violet has for things that matter to her. She sometimes was so consumed with matters around her she forgot her own heart.
This journey was amazing to read. I couldn't put it down and devoured it. so far this is my favorite story of the series. This tale will leave you on edge for Luke's story. I feel this conclusion will be epic greatness.
This blogger recommends this book as well as the whole series. You can read this as a stand alone but for full appreciation of the series, I'd start at the beginning. 5 dazzling Point Shoes.
The Blackstone Wolf: Blackstone Mountain Book 4 by Alicia Montgomery ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really enjoy reading Alicia Montgomery’s books because they are part of a series. Each book features a new couple to find their true mates plus the fact that I have a weakness for series they can go on forever, I would never get tired of reading them, I enjoy them if you need to read them in order or if I can read them as a standalone in any order. I enjoy Alicia Montgomery series because in each of her books she creates a place in such a picturesque world. The setting is perfect the town has all types of shifters who work in the Blackstone mountain. There are lots of shifter families and a fantastic town in which they can shift into their animals. This series is impossible to resist reading, of course the sexy scenes are off the chart steamy hot and along with some fantastic characters makes this book and series a enjoyable but amazing read. If this your first book to read of Blackstone Mountain series I know you will enjoy reading the other books in this series. I enjoy Alicia Montgomery characters because they are exciting plus fascinating to read. The Blackstone Wolf is Book 4 in Blackstone Mountain series it features Nathan Caldwell and Dr. Violet Robichaux. Nathan is a Wolf shifter who has lived in Blackstone mountains all of his life. He is also known to keep his relationships casual. Violet is a Tiger shifter who has been hired as the Geologist for Blackstone. Violet isn't looking for a mate she focus on her career and science. Nathan and Violet chemistry is off the chart but neither of them wants a mate. I enjoyed it when Violet makes the suggestion that they have sex and get it out of their system of course Nathan is outraged that his mate could want their mating to be casual. It was quite endearing to read as their relationship unfolds. The romance isn't easy, there is lots of drama and surprises in store plus a misunderstanding along the way. What I like is that they made me laugh and enjoy every moment of reading their story. The Blackstone Wolf is a most enjoyable, wonderful and fun book to read. It's a solid addition to The Blackstone Mountain series. I always enjoy this author’s books and I look forward to reading the next installment of this series plus many more of them.
I was hooked right from their first meeting! Nathan and Violet instantly recognize the other as their inner animal's mate, but they both are equally convinced that they aren't the least bit interested in following through on any possible relationship! Nope, nada, no way, no thank you!
Violet knows he's a player, has her own critically important agenda to focus on, and she knows enough of the science behind attraction to know it's not necessarily a done deal. Nathan is having too much fun being single, and despite his attraction to the feisty geologist he has no interest in settling down with just one woman, mate or not. I absolutely love how this author takes the mate bond idea and draws so many different permutations of it in her books - no two couples respond the same way, giving the reader an endless buffet of unique romance stories.
The ongoing storyline from previous books explodes with action in this story. Outside forces threaten the peaceful Blackstone community, which also has the effect of bringing Nathan and Violet together in a highly unusual but extremely hot manner! All their scenes together are steamy, but the author's imagination really infused this book with some new ideas for this shifter world. I love the expanding cast of characters, the girls at the baby shower, the ride-or-die attitudes of these fearless ladies, and the take-no-prisoners approach to dealing with the villains. This book is lots of fun, lots of humor, and lots and lots of love. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Ahhh...the age old story of the wolf shifter and the doctor who wants nothing to do with him. Lol
What can I say about these two? Nathan and Violet are such unusual pair. I felt like I was on a rollercoaster with these two. First they don't want each other, then one does but the other doesn't, then the other one changes their mind just when the other backs off. Phew!
Not that I didn't enjoy reading it. It's pretty funny reading each other's POV of the other, and the mutual attraction but in no way would they reveal it. Haha.. yeah.. like I said it's pretty enjoyable.
There was one lil development that was totally jaw dropping. I didn't see coming, I tell you. Throughout these books I always felt that although they're all short reads they didn't feel rushed... well with this particular 'development' I was left in a state of shock! I literally choked on air!
I really couldn't wrap my head around it at the time, but thinking about it now as I write this review, it only makes me laugh now.
I won't spoil it for you guys. All I'll say is what could possibly happen when two shifters who are meant to be together won't accept their fate? What could possibly push them together? You guys won't be able to guess. Trust me.
Annnnd.. if you happen to read this book. I guarantee when you get to the part I'm talking about.. you'll involuntarily laugh too.
Another ripper read! Still a consistent 4-ish star rating from me. Four books down, one left to go. Oh. *sigh*
A wonderful addition to the Blackstone mountain series by Alicia Montgomery. In book for we meet Nathan, all round woman's man, all round flirter and good with all things to do with women's pleasure. Well that is until he meets Violet, the new scientist who is taking over from the retiring doctor. Then his world starts to go off kilter as he swears that he hasn't got a mate and Violet is leaving anyway to go back to the orphanage she saved the first time around.
It all kicks off as they run circles around each other, not wanting mates, not wanting each other, Violet breaking his heart and throwing his womanising in his face. Wow so much emotions in this book between Violet and Nathan. My heart was breaking with what they were both doing to each other but more so when Nathan had resigned himself to being with his mate but Violet was still pushing back from him. It kicks off big time when they find some girls missing and they go to find them. Realising that the bad guys have a lab and running experiments on shifter will they be able to take them down? Can they save any of the kidnap victims in time? Will Violet and Nathan realise they are meant to be. A magnificent book that I devoured in one from start to finish. I can't wait for Luke's story now that isngoing to be a huge one. I received an advanced reader copy of this book

And another one bites the dust!!! Lol!! I think it’s funny that Montgomery’s men always seem to find their mates when they least expect it, it’s even funnier when the mate basically say “Thanks, but no thanks”. This is Nathan and Violet’s story. Nathan Caldwell is the Chief Engineer at Blackstone Mines, Dr. Violet Robichaux is the new temporary geologist at Blackstone Mines. They both get one whiff of each other and instantly know they are mates. Violet immediately says “ Nope, can’t have a mate right now sorry” and Nathan says “ she doesn’t want me, well I don’t want her either. I have so many women I don’t need a mate”. OMG, so much funny goes on with the, wanna mate don’t wanna mate stuff that goes on with Nathan and Violet. Both are stubborn, both really want to mate, however while Violet has a reason why and just can’t share her secrets; Nathan’s reason is just stupid male pride. While they deal with the to mate or not to mate thing, they also stumble into shifters being kidnapped and used as lab rats. When they both sit down and really talk together, they find out that they really do want the same thing and that is each other. I can’t wait until the next Blackstone book I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it’s Luke, that’s lion is gonna be a handful and needs one heck of a mate beside him.

This entire series just keeps on getting better and better . In the previous book , we get a glimpse of Violet towards the ending . Now she's officially in Blackstone as Dr Phillip's replacement . Nathan, the charmer and flirty guy, seemingly to overtake Jason since he's found Christina was taken aback when he first saw Violet . His initial reaction besides getting shocked is saying that he doesn't want a mate . Well lucky for him , Violet's not in town for long as she herself has a mission that she needs to complete . A mission that may or may not cause her life . Will Nathan really ignore the pull of the mating bond or will he chase after his one and only ? Violet does not have the time for love and falling in love might be the biggest distraction which she can't afford . But sometimes falling in love with the right person might make you a stronger person at the end of the day . Follow them on their journey to find love and justice . This book will keep you on edge as it'll give you a bigger picture of the real threat that's following Blackstone . Something big is coming and it's coming very soon . Fans of our darling Luke will also get a pleasant surprise :)
I received an ARC copy of the book and i'm voluntarily leaving a review .
The Blackstone Wolf is the fourth book in The Blackstone Mountain Series by Ms. Montgomery. Nathan enjoyed his single lifestyle, but now that his closest friends are finding mates, he’s thinking there might be more for him out there. Violet has had a traumatic last year, and when she accepts a job with Blackstone Mountain, she knows it’s just temporary. Until they crash into each other and realize they’re mates. But when she’s cool and analytical, he’s hot and full of emotions, so with shifters being kidnapped, an orphanage to save, and interfering family, can Nathan convince Violet that they’re meant to be together?
This book was such an amazing addition to the series, and I loved both how their romance unfolds and the next step in the overarching storyline! Violet was so analytical, but had so much heart once you got past that initial shell. I loved watching her open up and interact with a super open family unit. Nathan was a bit of a wild man, but I loved that he was smart and wanted so much more from his mate, despite his initial comments. I loved how well they worked together, how steamy their romance became, and I loved the ending! I loved this book and I’m very curious about what will come next in the series and can’t wait to read more!
Nathan hasn't been going out with women like he used to. Something is wrong because his wolf doesn't act the same way towards women as he used to, he is withdrawn. He pretends like he is still having fun but ever since his friends got mated is hasn't been the same. He meets Violet while she is interviewing for the "Doc's" job. He knows right away that she is his mate but she denied it saying she doesn't have time for a mate. After she walks away he tells Ben he didn't want a mate anyway. There are a lot of misunderstandings happening in this book. I didn't care much for Violet, she purposefully sabatogues any relationship they could have. She had her reasons but I thought she should have shared them with herniate from the beginning. She also doesn't seem to have much common sense because she is always throwing herself right in the middle of the danger. I liked that Nate was changing some of his ways for his mate. The background story was very goo and written well. Violet just got on my nerves, but everyone's personality is different and other people will see her in a different way and love her. So give this book a try as well as the rest of the series.
I absolutely love Alicia Montgomery's books. The characters are engaging, the stories are fun, and the mythology she weaves is addicting. But The Blackstone Wolf may be her best ever. I rank this one right up there with her stories "Taming the BeastTaming the Beast" (Sebastian and Jade) and "The Last Blackstone DragonThe Last Blackstone Dragon". In "Wolf", the story of Nathan and Violet is a bit of a twist, as Violet is even more of a badass shifter than her Mate.
I like that each type of shifter has his or her positives and negatives when it comes to their animal natures. Just because you're a powerful animal when you shift, doesn't exactly mean that you're completely badass all the time. And that helps ground the story. There's also a nice nod to consent in this story, something I wish more romance stories did.
Now? On to Luke! ;)
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I adore Alicia Montgomery's books, the thing I love most is how real she makes the characters, it's as if you expect to see shifters walking around town and wanting to look up Blackstone on Google maps knowing full well its not real. It's a hard enough job getting normal romance books to feel real but to achieve it in a paranormal romance is showing some serious talent. The book itself is fast paced, quick witted and full of romance and suspense everything you could want and come to expect from this series. For me the only thing that let it down slightly was the "medical emergency" where Nathan had to come to violets aid (i wont spoil it for you but prepare for some belly laughs and mild hysteria) it was hilarious and very erotic but for me it was just too much and stopped it feeling real and didn't capture me, i love how the characters come to life in her books and that bit just didnt for me but thats pure preference and nothing to do with the skill of her writing. If you want a fun, fast paranormal romance give this series ago and the true mates series too i seriously recommend them! i voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
"An Amazing Shifter Romance series!" Each book in this series from Dragons,Bears,Wolves, to Lions is incredible! The storylines are exciting. With truly fantastic characters. Blackstone is the home of the Lennox mining company. The Lennox's are Dragon shifter twins Matt and Jason. They also have a sexy Lion shifter Luke adopted into the family. The also have a bear shifter cousin Ben.Nathan is a Wolf shifter who works at the mine , and is best friends with the Lennox boys. Most of the guys are mated except Nathan and Luke. When a spunky Tiger Shifter Violet. Shows up to work at the mine. Nathan's days as a playboy maybe over. His wolf growls that she is their mate! Only there is a huge problem. Violet does not plan to stay in Blackstone! The two try to fight the mating bond. But when they face danger. It makes it hard to denigh fate wants them together! You will love this super exciting, thrilling, funny, sweet, suspenseful, and scorching hot shifter Romance! It is a Five Star plus story and series.
Another great book by Alicia Montgomery. I love the shifter world that she has created where shifters can find their mates in other shifters or humans. Love doesnt discriminate. In this case it's a feline shifter and a canine shifter, in the wild this would never work but in this world no one thinks twice of a wolf loving a tiger and I love that. Violet has this logical scientific brain that doesn't see the need in mates and doesn't truly believe in them. Nathan is an engineer who is getting tired of his playboy ways. I love that violet is such an unexpectedly strong character who will do anything for those weaker than herself. For a nerdy geologist she isn't afraid to stand up for whats right. It is a fast-paced book with some badass scenes, cluelessness on both sides, love and of course bad guys. The epilogue was Just one big tease because now I'm desperate for lukes book and I need to know what the danger is. I'm so hoping luke's mate is who I think it is.
I really liked Violet and her kick@ss tiger. I love that she was a scientist, as well as, a shifter. While she had some of the stereotypical nerd/geek personality, it created some hilarious conversations with those around here.
Nathan was a great hero. I loved his reactions to Violet’s take no prisoner personality. I love how he was willing to be patient even when she was impatient. I loved how he took care of her when she was unexpectedly “sick” and tried to be a gentleman and not take advantage.
I enjoyed Kate and Sybil’s interactions with Violet. Kate, as usual, was hilarious. I love how she just gave Violet a nickname, in spite of Violet’s objection. My aunt’s name is Violet and has the same nickname.
I really loved the ending both before and after the epilogue. The author made good on her promise of an HEA. It’s an extremely heartwarming example of love and mutual commitment.
While I received an ARC copy, I also purchased a copy to support the author.
Violet and Nathan. Others will love them but for me they just didn’t click as a couple. These two together just didn’t have any connection vibe for me so I found this book a disappointment. They seemed to be at cross purposes all the time and could not communicate, which is not what I want to read. Though the background was interesting with the lab and the kidnapped girls, I just found Nathan didn’t redeem himself from his player ways. He had met his mate and still kept flirting with other women and just acted like a complete a** most of the time I didn’t like or connect to Violet at all, found her constant denial of mate bonds to be annoying and boring. I did love her shifter alter self though. Did understand her needing to return for the girls. I will be reading Luke’s book. Looking forward to see him win over Georgina and her cub Grayson and to find out what is going on. Lots of silly errors that should have been picked up by any proof reader.
I really enjoyed this story! It was great seeing Nathan and Violet find their happy ending. Neither is looking for a mate but that doesn't seem to matter when they are thrown in each other's paths. There are quite a few misunderstandings between the two of them that cause them some problems. The fact that they are both super stubborn does not help. I loved some of the banter between the two of them. The story was written well and flowed smoothly and kept my attention the whole time. I was highly entertained and loved getting to be back in Blackstone! This had plenty of action and intrigue. There is a lot of sexual tension between the characters but not a whole lot of actual sex throughout most of the book. Believe it fits the story and the characters. I really enjoyed this and can't wait for the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
A wolf and a tiger? Yes, and it's spectacular. The fourth book in an already great series, I keep thinking a dip could come. This author does not disappoint. Nathan and Violet are incredible, and they actually tickled me to pieces. The storyline is swifly engaging, and these two are something else. Nathan is used to being a playboy, but when he meets his mate and she doesn't fall in to the usual pattern, we know this is going to be good. Vi is a total woman to look up to. Smart, tough, and beautiful, and she's sassy too. This pair have powerful chemistry from the moment they meet, and it just gets stronger. I love seeing the pace of the book quicken, but it's just as much of a pleasure to see these two fall in love. I highly recommend all of the books in the series, but have to say this book is a highlight for me. Grab a copy asap. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.
I absolutely love this series and the big bad alpha men who will melt your heart. This series just gets better and better like a fine bottle of wine. I love reading about their first encounter and the dance that follows when they find their mates. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat, as we see them grow closer and closer to the threat that is encroaching on Blackstone and what they find will make your heart ache.
What happens when one whiff tells you of your mate but that is the last thing you want or need or is it? The fun starts right of the bat between Nathan and Violet who are both stubborn and unwilling to give in to each other. How long can they dance around each other before finally admitting the truth? Will the secrets keep them apart.
I can’t wait until the next book in the series which is hopefully about Luke.
This was my least favorite thus far. I'm going to try and abstain for the rest of the series. I'm curious about the other characters, but I can't keep reading books where the only conflict comes from people not talking to each other.
I found Violet an *extremely* aggravating character. Nathan was fine, but Violet was just frustrating and I didn't like it.
I bring this up in my other reviews of this series, but the books mirror the Black Claw dragons series suspiciously closely. In order: the first couple, the brother, the virginal woman, the antagonizing pair who argue a lot, and the single mom is next with Luke... maybe this is a known progression I'm just not familiar with, but it's hard for me to read this series when I don't like it as much at the other one, especially with such obvious parallels.
Nathan, the last playboy of the Blackstone Saga finds his mate - but is shocked, when he hears that she rejects him. Drawn to her he fights his feelings, but protecting her during a rescue mission, makes it almost impossible to resist.Violet, his mate, has another purpose for herself in mind. She adopted some orphans in a country far away and feels obligated to help them and return to them, even if it costs her her mate. They need her. An explosive story, highly emotional on many levels, rife with mis-communication, builds up and keeps one on the edge on many different levels. I had received this book as an ARC and honestly enjoyed reading it. Like with the other Blackstone books it is entertaining, thrilling and emotional. A great blend to tell a wonderful story..

I really can't help myself. I'm an addict when it comes to Alicia Montgomery books! This is the forth book in Blackstone Series. In this installment "The Blackstone Wolf" Nathan meets his mate Vi. But what I liked most was the twist the backstory took. Not only does it pull all three books even more together but also gives this series multiple possibilities in regards to "The Agency". I loved the fact that the " I don't have time for this" Dr. Violet Robichaux turns out to be such a bad ass! This book is full of strong characters, great chemistry and wove with current events to its story. This series just gets better. I truly can't wait to see where this goes. Well done Alicia!
I can not get enough of the Blackstone community of shifters. This one is the 4th installment and is about Nathan and Violet, who is replacing Dr. Phillips at the mines. Oh when they first meet its attraction at first site, you know that acknowledgement of s/he is mine, well in this case what's mine isn't mine because I don't want it type scenario, because I mean I have so many woman falling at my feet, and I just don't want to settle with a mate, until FATE once again jumps in the way. You really need to read this series from the start to get a great feel of the characters and surrounding area. LOVE IT and looking forward to more.
I voluntarily received an ARC Copy of this book for my honest review.
This is book four in the series and just as good as the previous three. The author has the magic that draws you in from the very beginning and keeps you reading until the very end. I didn't want to put this book down but had no choice as it isn't one of those short novella type books. But I picked it straight back up the following day. The storyline is original and the character believable that draw you into their lives and keeps you reading to find out their lives progress. This book is a standalone, but does contain characters from the three previous books and you would be missing out by not reading them first. If you love Paranormal Romance with shifters then you will truly enjoy this book and the whole series.
"I volunteered to read an advanced review copy of this book". This is a great story of two hard headed people, Nathan and Violet, who belong together (mates). The fight with the group that tried to kill the friends and family at Matthew and Christina’s wedding at the Blackstone Castle are at it again. The group has kidnapped the sister of one of the shifters who work at Blackstone offices. I love this book and the people and the enter actions with this group who consider themselves family even though some of them aren’t related and they lengths they will go to so that they can protect each other.
To say that Nathan and Violet's first meeting wasn't pretty would be an understatement. These two both said things that set the tone for their relationship. One or the other was constantly saying or doing something the other misunderstood. If they had only sat down and actually communicated...but then we wouldn't have had such an entertaining story. We also got another hint about the group out to do harm to all shifters. There is definitely a big battle brewing for the shifters of Blackstone. Oh about my review title..you'll have to read to understand.
*I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
This is another great book in the series. I really enjoy this author's paranormal romances.
Nathan and Violet are both reluctant to claim their mate but also angry to be denied by them as well. They have this strong desire for each other but have other plans then to settle down with a mate. I liked watching them fight the attraction. They have a lot of misunderstandings that make their mating very entertaining.
You can read it as a standalone but I do recommend the other books as well. Storylines and characters are recurring in the series.
