The edition of the book I read is copyright 1995 so the information feels like a snapshot in time which will probably need updating every decade... but having said that, this seems like a fantastic overview of Russian culture and mindsets. The book covers a surprising amount of information, everything from Russian grammar to who pays for a birthday cake. The chapters often dip into the historical/political reasons such cultural dynamics exist. Good read for anyone who is interested in learning about a different culture.

I'm counting this as "a book by or about a Russian" for 2016 #vtReadingChallenge
