As a writer, rejection is a part of life. I have been working on material for so long, I've forgotten how the pain of a rejection can encourage writer's block. I picked up this book for the sole purpose of facing rejection head-on. It worked. The advice Fishbein offers: Take the pain away by making yourself numb. Get so many 'no's' they don't hurt anymore. The first time I was published, I was attempting to get 100 rejections by a particular date. Now, I'm doing it again. The more rejections I get, the more proof, I have that I am "doing it, I'm living the dream." I will continue to add up the rejections even after I get that one sweet "Yes."

I also found the other first aid suggestions helpful. The book serves as a good reminder that life's little pains can get the best of us at times, and applying a little first aid will keep us in the game.

Didn't find it too useful on the first pass, but I can see it as a useful set of knowledge to have to be a better person or help out someone that is mentally depressed, which may be be mental wounds that can be remedied with some emotional first aid.
