LIZ
Forced to move back into my family’s unwelcoming home, I secretly flee to the darkest corners of my mind when I’m by myself.

The sinister stranger who takes me further than even my darkest fantasy ever could.
Now I’m his captive. Confined in a gilded cage laced with pleasure – and with nowhere to run.

LEONARD
This is where I belong - among the rich & powerful. I am used to getting what I want, and I know I want her from the moment I see her.
Elizabeth Barrington. The quiet beauty, waiting to be broken. Her eyes are begging for me to take her.
She didn't think I would go this far, but here she is - collared and chained to the bed. Mine to keep, mine to train, mine to please.
But Liz is unlike any other submissive I’ve had before.
She is dangerous…

Some POVs were repetitive. The Heroine was awful. I really hate both characters. This book didn't work for me.

Taken
LIZ is an outcast in her own family, she is a third daughter who never seems to live up to the families ideals. She fantasizes about being restrained & taken by force & often ties herself up while she pleases herself. At her middle sister's engagement party she notices a good looking man she doesn't know talking with her parents. He notices her too, especially the bruise marks circling her ankles. When Liz is finally introduced to Leonard, she find herself drawn to him. Leonard sees in her the desire to be dominated & he is more than willing to make Liz his. After a brief pleasurable stroll in the family gardens, Leonard sets up a time for them to meet after the party. Both are eager to see one another again but Liz isn't aware that Leonard has a plan set in motion once she arrives for their date. Leonard introduces Liz to his dominate self & she catches on quickly to what her role is. Later after waking from what Liz thinks is a nap, she comes to find herself stripped naked, bound & at Leonard's complete mercy.

Bound
Liz is all to aware that she is now Leonard's captive. Leonard tells her she is now his & she is there for his training. Liz's initial reaction is to rebel to the confinement but soon realizes Leonard is not playing. She uses her wits to try & get some information out of him about what is happening & why she is there. He isn't very forth coming except to tell her it is for her own benefit. Leonard starts his lessons & it isn't until Liz pushes him past his patience & he can no longer tolerate her backtalk & questions. He finally gives her one helluva spanking that leaves her rear redden & tears in her eyes. It is then, that Liz seems to understand that this isn't a game. With her new obedience, Leonard starts to show her what pleasure he can bring her.

Owned
Leonard is faced with a business commitment that takes him out of the house & away from Liz. He is uneasy about leaving her alone & he tells Liz he will be out for a bit. Liz begs not to be leashed while he is gone & Leonard relents. Liz believes the whole 'being gone' is a test & she proceeds to explore her surroundings with caution. When she finds the door to her room unlocked, she is hesitant but still curious enough to continue wondering through the whole mansion. She comes to a point where she thinks about running & realizes she wants to stay. When Leonard makes is back, he is shocked to find Liz out of her room & immediately leashes her & locks her back up. But not until after she admits she thought it was a test of loyalty that the door was unlocked. Leonard struggles with what she has told him & how he could have been so distracted as to forget to keep her locked up. After an especially intense sexual encounter Leonard finds himself waking up in bed with Liz. He is upset with himself because he has broken so many of his own rules. Upon leaving Liz's room he comes to find an intruder in the house. It is someone from his shady past to confront him. When the intruder threatens Liz, Leonard steps in the way & is shot. As Leonard starts to loose consciousness he wonders what Liz will tell the police about everything. Will Liz tell the police everything? Will she tell her family where she's been? Or will she protect Leonard?

This intense & emotionally filled walk on the dark side isn't sweet but has a HEA ending. It is the desire of Leonard to poses & break Liz but it is actually Liz that changes Leonard without him even realizing it. He is the dominate & should be in control in all things but she twists him up in ways that he never imagined. As their twisted relationship evolves they find themselves both wanting the other no matter how things started between them. This is not a book for the faint at heart. Leonard is a ruthless dominate when he wants to be obeyed. I enjoyed the sassy nature & challenging situation the characters bring to in this story. This book is meant for mature readers & is about BDSM & captivity.

This is Taken, Bound and Owned all put together into one story which is how l prefer to read my books. This is a well written story.

Liz is the youngest daughter. She has two older sisters and feels that she doesn't belong to the family. We read of her darker side and her fantasies. They are about to come true when she meets Leonard. He usually gets what he wants and he wants Liz as his.

Grab a drink and some chocolates and read Liz and Leonard's story. There is themes of kidnapping, captivity and steamy bdsm scenes.

Leonard decides the moment he sees Liz and looks into her dark sad eyes that she is his, and he will do whatever it takes to own her. Even if it means kidnapping her.

Liz has dark urges and she knows Leonard senses that about her when they meet. She should be angry and scared when she realizes he's taken her, but she can only enjoy what he does to her mind and body. Liz knows there's something wrong with her. But maybe, just maybe, there's something wrong with Leonard too.

This purchase contains all three parts: Taken, Bound and Owned. It's just what the headings suggest - Leonard takes Liz and she awakens being bound in his home with his end game to own her. Both characters are easy to like and the story concludes as you assume it will.

3.5 stars. There are a lot of typos and wrong words throughout.

I'm a huge fan of dark romances and this book didn't disappoint.

Liz is the black sheep of her overly snooty family and thinks something is wrong with her because of her particular tastes. She meets Leonard at her sisters engagement party and is instantly taken by him and so is he.

The moment Leonard spots Liz he noticed something dark about her that he wants to capture and formulates a plan to abduct her and make her his. Even though Lizs fantasy is to be kidnapped and taken against her will when it comes to that she no longer wants it.

This book unfolds during 3 parts and you see the evolution of Liz and Leonard.

Be forewarned--This story is not only beautifully twisted but the elements of kidnapping and torture add a dangerously dark element to the BDSM activities.

Liz is the odd little third daughter of a wealthy family who largely ignored her. Liz has dark elements in her being and is attracted to Leonard who some would consider cruel and twisted with his sexual depravity. These two souls are definitely broken...

This book was difficult to read due to the high emotions it pulls from the reader--but there is no doubt this story was masterfully crafted, with characters so real you can literally feel the heat coming off their bodies!

While the storyline may be too dark for some, you owe it to yourself to explore the ideas presented here. It's definitely worth your time!

I picked this one up three times and I just could not connect. I found it bland. There was something missing.

Liz is an outcast in her family. At her sister's engagement part, Liz meets Leonard. Later Leonard asks Liz to come to his house and she finds herself trapped. He has dark tastes as does Liz. She seeks excitement which she has been lacking. The first time Leonard meets Liz, he notices that she has rope marks around her ankles.

Now after reading it, I feel like Liz was whining like a girl with rich girl problems. "My parents pay for everything but don't pay attention to me."

This may work for you, but it did not work for me. Reading is subjective.

The story is written in dual POVs and some of the scenes are repeated. Not a fan of this writing style!!! Writing the scene once is enough for me. I do not need to know what each character is thinking at every moment.

Definitely not for the faint of heart. Heed the authors' warnings when they say the book contains scenes and subject matter that may be difficult to read. This is a very dark romance with some themes that aren't "nice" at all. I am not completely comfortable with the "kidnap" and "kept" aspects of this relationship but the chemistry between Liz and Leonard is compelling. I enjoy watching both of them breaking through barriers they didn't realize they had: Liz discovering freedom in her submission and Leonard letting Liz into the fortress of his heart. The enforced confinement that makes up most of this series gives me the heebie-jeebies, but I can see how the close quarters has brought the relationship between Liz and Leonard to the point where they had choose between the walls around their hearts or each other.

Wow, I felt myself identifying with Elizabeth on so many levels. I could feel her loneliness and her pain - she was like a modern-day Cinderella. This book was dark and steamy, and I loved it. Leonard sees Elizabeth and wants to own her from hello. There were some intense BDSM scenes, where Elizabeth got to let go of her tightly wound self control, and Leonard gave her what she needed, even when she didn't know what that was. Their sessions were twisted, painful at times, and deep. Silent Daughter was a sizzling and intriguing book that sucked me right in.

This story was beautifully dark and twisted. A mostly silent, odd sheep of the family meets a dark mysterious man who lures her away and gives her what she craves. I like the way he keeps describing the color of her eyes in the beginning. This tale had my attention from start to finish, tugged at my emotions, and surprised me. I do wish that there would have been something more added with her and her violin, but I still loved it. I received an arc of this book.

A dark romance

I actually read this series a while back as three individual books, and it's still a mind blowing read. This is a dark romance, kidnapping and M/s . This story is not for under 18 . The POV alternates between both characters, which I liked , though some scenes are repeated because of this, it allows you into the mind and emotions of both characters. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this story. Though I have read previously via KU

I’ve read some Linnea May that I really liked, and I’ve read some that didn’t hit nearly the same mark. This is one of the latter. It’s another story of a messed up billionaire guy who doesn’t follow his own rules because the girl is just too special. Well, I didn’t even like the guy, he wasn’t a good example of a Dom at all, and a week didn’t really seem like enough time for Liz to sort through what was happening to her and just accept it. And then there a random scene thrown in to create tension and to deus ex machina how Liz and Leonard were going to get out of and move on from their messed up situation.
*Note - I’m also confused by the two authors listed on this - I did think it was Linnea May, as it reads like most of her other books, but then I saw Stella Noir listed as well? In the book the only author listed is Linnea May, so maybe goodreads needs to clean up this book listing?

To many unknown factors for me, felt no real connection

This book is very hard for me to rate, maybe it's the fact that I myself aren't sure how I should feel after reading it. Stockholm syndrome perhaps? or maybe the fact that Liz complete loneliness to the point of just wanting affection from anywhere or anyone played a huge factor? This book was kinda weird for me, and that's saying a lot. But it felt like Leonard choose just the right wounded and helpless animal to concur, no luv or real affection really needed, just a girl who was so unloved and broken to mold into what he needed. Or was Liz twisted mind just ready for a sick and twisted man? Yes we read on that she is into rope play, but that's all, didn't really get the submissive vibe from her. She was pretty much just thrown into a situation and made to deal with it. As I said before, just not quite sure how I feel about this oddly and strange love affair

This story held such promise and then boom! The story flatlined.....

I’m all for the kidnapping and captive scene and honestly the hero’s capture of Liz is impressive. However, she wanted it way too much for me so yeah completely killed the dark buzz...

This review is my honest personal opinion and should have zero influence on your experience with the story. I encourage you to try it for yourself!

This is the story of Leonard and Liz. Leonard came from a hard beginning, struggling to survive and make a fortune. A man that is always in control. Liz comes from privilege but not from love. She is always dreaming of a man that will dominate and protect her. As their worlds collide, an afternoon outing will change the course of their lives. A steamy story of submission.

I'm just going to say that this is my first dark romance book in awhile. It's been like few months? I've been indulging myself in chick-lit and few light read romance. I can say I'm glad I read this book, brings out my inner dark romance enthusiast to life again💅

‌So, Silent Daughter opens up with Elizabeth the youngest daughter in her family, her family seemed careless about her because her parents except for son instead another baby girl pops out. Liz has this wild fantasy where she likes to be tied up and have non-consensual sex fantasy. On her sister Engagement party, she met Leonard Clark, a successful businessman wannabe. No one knows his family, and any details about him. Later they caught themselves having the same fantasy about their sex lives, they begin to take an interest to each other.

"𝐍𝐨 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐒𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐈 𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞. 𝐀 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫. 𝐇𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡 𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦. 𝐈𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐛𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐈 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐟 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞. 𝐀𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲, 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐬 𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐈 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐢𝐧."

‌I really like this book tbh! I love their dominant and submissive role, where Leonard not only punish her for her bad behavior but also take care of her. That's the first rule in BDSM tho. Rather than say this book is pure BDSM, this also got the captive romance, and Stockholm syndrome kinda? What makes me puzzled somehow actually where Liz said how she likes the thought of being dominated but also she's afraid and want to run away when Leonard 'train' her. I mean.... She should just let it go, right?

Plus, a little bit addition, perhaps it'd be better if we can get a brief background of Leonard? What did he do before and description about his life to know where he came from. I mean that's what makes me puzzled actually, I wanna know!😭

‌Overall, this book got me good. Once I read it, I don't want to put it down! I'm just so curious what will happen next? Oh, Elizabeth little minx always fishing for punishment from Leonard. I'm 🥺
‌Therefore, if you're into captive romance and touch of BDSM, you might like this one!✨

The Perfect Match

I thought I'd read most of Linnea May's books, but I somehow missed most of this series. It was time to remedy that oversight. Silent Daughter was the first step in that direction.

Elizabeth (Liz) Barrington is the third daughter of a wealthy, established family. She became redundant at birth, as she wasn't the male heir the family hoped for. Although she silently stayed out of the way of her family, when she went to college, she had begun to more fully develop her own personality and tried to explore her sexual proclivities. But when she didn't get into graduate school, she had to return home and reverted somewhat, trying to address her own needs in the privacy of her bedroom.

Leonard Clark is new to town. He appears to be a very well-to-do businessman, but that's mostly an illusion. Although he's become very competent in business, he's self taught and came up the hard way and has often had associates whose practices are highly illegal. Leonard often shows up in a town under an alias, coordinates a scam or questionable deal and leaves before anyone is the wiser. During these times, the sadistic dominant in him usually finds a woman to train as his pet , but she is also left behind when he runs.

Leonard first sees Liz at her sister's engagement party, which he's invited to as the current business partner of the groom's family. He immediately senses that Liz is an ideal new submissive and Liz becomes similarly intrigued by Leonard's dominance.

This is a pretty dark romance, filled with frequent and hot BDSM interactions. If you like this subgenre, you should enjoy this story. It has certainly lead me to want to read the Velvet Room series.

Dark intense emotional journey

Silent Daughter follows Elizabeth (Liz) the unwanted third daughter in a wealthy family who never really felt include or welcome in her own home because she acted different . She was ignored, mocked and put down at every turn because she chose her own path not wanting to be a robot barbie like her mother and sisters doing charities and arranged marriage. She wants a career and a life. Plus she is hiding a dark sexual secret from everyone. She craves to be bound, taken by force in her fantasies to the extent that she has tied herself up trying to get the high. While at an engagement party for her sister she spots a mysterious man with a tattoo who draws her attention.
Leonard is attending an engagement party for his business partner son when he spots the most intriguing mesmerizing woman with the most beautiful eyes he's ever seen yet there was a darkness in her that called to him. They have a trist in the garden and makes plans to meet up later in the week. He takes her on a date after which he kidnaps her. Later she wakes up tied up thinking it's part of their game.Very quickly she realizes her situation is real and she is taken on a twisted, dark, torturous journey into submission and BDSM with Leonard as her Master. It's an intense, emotional, dark romance that isn't for the faint of heart.

This starts as a cinderella story. Liz has always felt that she was the disappointing third daughter in her rich snobby family. She tries to follow her own path and hides her own dark fantasies. At her sisters party she meets Leonard, an unknown but very succesful businessman, selfmade, often at the cost of others. He recognizes her cravings and takes her on a date. But the fantasies Liz had did not lead her to expect to be kidnapped and kept prisoner. Leonard is intent on 'training' her to submit to him of her free will, and he succeeds sooner than expected. Once Liz has the opportunity to escape, she hesitates, because she does not want to tarnish his reputation, or to have her fantasies brought up for discussion.
A little more background to provide the foundation of the characters would have been nice, and Leonard's business deals remain pretty vague, but the story flows easily. Do not expect to many captive or forced sex scenes, because Leonard is a hero who wants to unleash Liz's fantasies and keeps on teasing her body to get her to the point where she would be asking for all the things that filled her fantasies. An enjoyable read.

Ugh ok. So I hated this book.
It was an erotica, kay. It had an alpha-male, captive situation going on, kay. So I’m likely to like it at least a little. But this book pushed me to my fucking limits. I really like this genre but the characters in this book didn’t have a good vibe or good chemistry together. Both didn’t know what they wanted and the MMC stripped away any personality the MFC had and preferred her that way (that pissed me off royally). Also he got bored of her after a week. A fucking week. Because she had become compliant. Even though he punished her and denied her a relationship constantly because she wasn’t ‘willing and obedient’. Also the extent to which he denies her sexually and emotionally (there was consistently a lack of aftercare, which is very emotionally damaging for a sub, especially when s/he has a breakdown) just fucking angered me. I don’t even know how I got through this book and the only thing I liked about this book was it’s skeletal plot. Also, the MMCs backstory was poorly incorporated into the book as well as the revelation and revenge plot. Overall this book was a tragic flop.

I did not hate this book, but I did not really like it either. When I finished it my first thoughts were, "ok that's done what am I going to read next." Maybe it is not my thing because the daughter likes rope play or maybe it was not my thing because I could not relate to anything in the book. It was different.

I was craving a quick, dark, romance, and this did a great job of scratching that itch. I had some issue with the consent/power dynamics, and the ending was so abrupt it was like a smack in the face. But the steamy bits were hot AF and it was just the book I needed to jump start me back into reading my epic fantasy stories.

Ok. Maybe it was that I had this one as an audiobook and I didn't like the narration. There were parts of the book I liked. However, Leonard does not seem like a hot dominate male name and it annoyed me.

Also, the words "cute and annoying" do not belong in a dark romance novel as many times as those 2 words were in there.

Always a sinful delight to read!

Linnea's books are well written and always pushing the envelope. Speaking to my most private and primal fantasies. There's always a part of the heroine in her books that I relate too. I started with Tied and Marked and that series and now I I'm hooked! Never disappointed and so sizzling hot!!!

This is deliciously dark! I liked it, I thought there was good premise and character chemistry. The only part I didn’t care for was the certain parts of the story being retold just in the other characters viewpoint, I could have done without that.
