Urvashi Pitre is a national treasure! She makes going keto easy and fun. What could be easier than making dinner in an Instant Pot? The recipes represent some many different cuisines that you will never be bored. Even if it’s chicken again, you won’t notice! (I remember a diet that was broiled chicken, broiled chicken, broiled chicken. Ugh!)
Best of all, you can read this for free on Kindle Unlimited.
Perfect cookbook if you have, or want to own an Instant Pot. I have one and love it! It’s my favorite and most used small appliance in my kitchen by far. Fixing a Keto lifestyle diet is super easy - fresh meats and vegetables are made super fast and easy. Meat is fork tender and succulent! Even desserts are possible to fix in the pot. Recommended.
Only a few recipes worth trying. Not true keto. Raisins and corn in a few of the recipes. One recipe called for the bagged frozen veggies (corn, green bean, carrots) which isn't exactly keto. The poblano cauliflower soup sounded like a good idea but was overly complicated and not very tasty.
This cookbook was recommened to me by my boss. (Hi Glenda!) Everyone at my office does the Keto diet so we share and exchange LOTS of recipes and encouragement. She forwarded me the link and low and behold, it was available on KU! Now I was just gonna buy it because I like to hold a cookbook and write in it and mark it up. It’s hard to just read a cookbook, especially when I want to try all the recipes.
But I found a work around because I snipped my favorite recipes and printed them out so I could still doodle them up. And this book has so many different kinds of food to make. I have a cuban recipe that looks amazing. Lots of mexican, indian and I think there was an african recipe in there. I love to try new foods so you’ll be seeing pics on my IG page.
If you like to cook, try new foods and are doing Keto, pick this book up!
She does a great job of explaining the basics of the ketogenic diet and using the Instant Pot. There are a variety of recipes from simple with familiar ingredients to some I've never heard of and can't pronounce. The recipes I've tried so far have been very tasty, and it's fun to get out of my comfort zone. I live in a rural area, and some ingredients will have to wait till I get to a larger town or order online. It would be helpful to have a picture of every recipe. For some of them I have no idea how they're supposed to look or taste. Now off to find gochujang so I can make galbijjim :-)
Quite frankly, I cheerfully buy Urvashi Pitre's cookbooks because I know her Instant Pot recipes will work, taste amazing, and typically they are painfully easy!
I pre-ordered this book, and received it on its release date. As expected, it's fantastic! Well organized, and tons of recipes in excited to try, mixed with a good number I've made from Urvashi's blog.
I originally found Urvashi when I was searching for Instant Pot recipes, and started using her site more often when I started a keto diet in 2017. Certainly, you don't need to follow keto to enjoy these dishes though. Her recipes are the perfect combination of flavorful, easy, and delicious! She's most famous for her butter chicken recipe, which is included here. If you haven't tried it yet, it's a great place to start. 😊 Thank you, Urvashi...I'm looking forward to cooking my way through your entire book!
I like the ingredients in many of the recipes except for a few. I look forward to trying them. However, I would caution anyone considering following the extremely low daily calories the author did. Anyone would loose weight following a ketogenic diet or not at 800 calories a day. Folks, this is starvation mode plain and simple. Muscles get cannibalized. The absolute lowest a female should ever go is 1200 calories a day, especially at the authors 5' 5" height. Please do NOT drop your daily calorie intake below 1200 calories.
I do not follow a Keto diet, I follow a tasty foods diet. I also use my Instant Pot a few times every week. This is the second cookbook from this author and home cook, and she has managed to curate an amazing list of tasty foods. The fact that they fall within certain dietary guidelines is useful, but don’t let it stop you if you are just looking for a collection of tasty (and tested) recipes.
I didn't really find anything in the book that I would cook, half of the stuff I didn't know what it was, the other half isn't anything that I would be able to cook quickly and easily, ingredients that I have to go way out of my way to find. I am a basic and beginner and I want simple..these things were not simple.
I'm definitely more fond of cookbooks with pictures so I have an idea of what it is.
I've been in a drastic slump with food and my instantpot. Still eating, of course, and using my instant pot, of course, but down to barely doing more than barest minimum neededof both. I spotted this free-to-kindle copy on Amazon a little while ago and it ended up being delightful. There are several recipes in here I want to try and the first one I tried so far -- Turkey Casserole -- was divine. Can't wait to dig in even more!
This cookbook contains information about the Keto Diet. Many recipes available to choose from. This book also contains cooking times for various food items in the instant pot and measurement conversion. Nothing boring about the recipes. I recommend this book. Thank you Urvashi for another great cookbook.
I eat Trim Healthy Mama, so keto recipes fit into my diet. I have an instant pot that I'm always looking for more ways to use. This cookbook fills both of these boxes. The recipes are varied. Most do not require specialty ingredients. I have cooked two of the recipes, and both were fabulous, getting strong reviews from my kids too. This is going on my Christmas wish list.
I love all the instant pot tips in this book. The first two recipe I tried right away were the Broccoli, ham and pepper Fritata on Page 20 and the Savory Chicken and Mushroom soup on page 63. They were both delicious. My friends son loves Tikka Masala so I am anxious to try this recipe next.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book provided to me by the publisher.
I really like that the Author has approached writing this cook book by making things fit keto, by adapting recipes for taste as well as carbs. So many sacrifice taste, or try and convince you that you don’t miss things...
Like hot and sour soup, the Hot and Sour Soup recipe in this book... Its delish!
Love the recipes in this book -- they are delicious and get me out of the pot roast/shredded chicken IP rut. Recipes may look a little daunting with all the spices, but they are generally very easy to put together. Highly recommend.
This cookbook has great recipes full of international flavors using an electric pressure cooker. Packed with information on the Keto diet and cooking in the Instant Pot. All recipes we tried are easy to follow and tasty! If you want to mix up your Keto diet, this is one to try!
The best Instant Pot cookbook I have seen. You don't need to be eating keto to find a ton of tasty and easy recipes in this book. Every one I have tried has been fabulous.
