5 Wolf Unbound Stars

When I first learned of Tegan and the loss of her mate I felt so very sad for her. Knowing now what a bound a mated pair shares well that couldn’t have been something you would want to wish on anyone.

So when her mate came to her in dreams and was showing her it was ok to move on. He was giving her his blessing I felt so utterly happy for her.

And from then on she felt like she could move on even be happy again. I loved Ben! He was everything I would have wanted for someone like Tegan. I even loved the BDSM part of this story it was perfect!

I was a little worried Ben was going to be too human to deal with his mate being so strong, he would want to over protect her and not understand she was wolf. It was kind of nice that she brought him around to heel hehehe. :p

Overall I loved this book! I can’t wait to keep going and find out more.

Narration was ok for me. As I said before I am dealing. I don’t hate it but it’s not my favorite.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Wolf Unbound is a solid 3. 5 star read for me. I had read it previously and enjoyed reading it again.

Dane has a way with the pen and creating worlds with words. Wolf Unbound spends lots of time creating a BDSM werewolf world.

To me, its all about the balance. If there was more balance between the sex and the actually story, I would of loved this tale. Wolf Unbound is sure to be a hit with those who really prefer more sex less story.

I received Wolf Unbound from Carina Press. This is my honest and voluntary review. This book is set for publication Feb. 1, 2017.

I have read an early edition of this released previously.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

New cover matches the style of the rest of the series!

This is the fourth book in the series, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content and violence. This book does involve dominant/submissive acts just in case this has an effect of your enjoyment of reading the book.

I did not connect as well with Teagan and Ben though I’m not sure why. It is a great book with plenty of action. I like that Teagan is strong, and she has come back from losing a mate. I have liked Ben in previous books, but in this one, he had several moments where he was just a jerk. It rubbed me the wrong way. He did things to redeem himself at times, but it wasn’t enough for me.

I loved Lauren’s writing! She always has plenty of action, drama, and intrigue to keep you engaged! I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

I recommend this book to shifter fans who enjoy subspace in their reading!

Wolf Unbound is one of those stories with lots and lots of feels in it. It’s a story of letting go and moving on after heartbreak, of being willing to go after that second chance, and of the strength and love that family can give someone who’s lost their world.

Ben and Tegan have both been hurt deeply, Ben from the betrayal of an ex and Tegan from the loss of her mate. Both had finally decided it was time to move on after living half-lives for years. Attracted to each other immediately and both into the BDSM lifestyle, it was still a huge surprise when the mate bond clicked into place. Tegan was elated but Ben was horrified and didn’t handle it well at all.

I completely understood why Ben had issues with suddenly finding himself mated to Tegan. For a human who wasn’t raised hoping that this would happen, he felt like he’d had his choices taken away. He was kind of a selfish prick about it though, making it all about him. It’s good he was so good with his ropes, cuffs, and floggers because while he got his head sorted, there was more than once I wanted her to grab that flogger and beat him with it.

As for Tegan, my heart hurt for her. To have lost a mate once is bad enough but to then have the man who is your second chance treat you like an option instead of a solid thing would be almost worse. She might be a sub in the bedroom, but she’s no shrinking violet. Strong, capable, and a team leader for the pack enforcer, she’ll only take so much before she’s had enough. Mate or not, sometimes the only thing you can do is walk away.

The family dynamics were a huge part of this story. Tegan’s family had been worried about her since she lost her mate. The vivacious and outgoing Tegan disappeared under all that grief and they knew she was hurting despite her going through the motions of daily life. Watching her slowly come back to life was beautiful to behold for them, so to then see her get so hurt again was hard, especially for her alpha wolf brothers. Ben is truly lucky he came out of the whole thing with his head still attached to his body.

Ben’s family was the exact opposite. Although most members of his family were supportive, a very important member had some prejudices against shifters. This made things hard on everyone and had my heart hurting for Ben this time.

Things with Warren Pellini and the werewolf mafia are heating up. With the threat of war hanging heavy and the danger factor increasing by the day, there was lots of action in this installment keeping my need for suspense very satisfied.

The emotions, the action, and the hot, sexy connection between Ben and Tegan kept me turning the pages. I’m enjoying getting reacquainted with the Warden family and can’t wait to dive into the next installment.

I was excited to read this book as Dane's other books have had some really great reviews and this one being a werewolf paranormal seemed like a natural fit.

Unfortunately I couldn't get into it. First- I thought this book was the first in a series- it's not. Lots of references to previous plots and I believe the main plot, outside these two coming together, was already established in the previous novels.

Second- Lots of D/s- though nothing overly extreme, which generally is okay with me, what I didn't buy was the fact that the hero was supposed to be more- or equally- alpha to the heroine who's job is a pack "enforcer" or protector. He was not. I know alpha and it wasn't him.

The gist of the story is that Tegan meets Ben soon after she decides its time to get out in the dating scene after mourning the loss of her mate for 4 yrs. The meet in a D/s club and instantly form a connection. Outside the club Ben works with Tegan's brothers as a human cop consulting with the local werewolf pack.

They quickly discover there is more than just a simple attraction- that they are indeed destined to be mates. The stress of just getting to know each other, compounded by a mating that will link them forever and the fact that their work worlds are colliding almost tears them apart. But they manage it.

I can't tell you what happened with the mafiosa/type head of a werewolf pack who is making his move to consolidate the packs under his leadership and frankly I could care less.

I felt no real connection to Tegan and Ben much less any connection they were supposed to have to each other outside the bedroom and the mating link.

And AGAIN with "un" title? yeesh.

Lauren Dane serves up Tegan's story in book four of her 'Cascadia Wolves' series, "Wolf Unbound". This series has action, hot werewolves, mystery, hot sex, suspense, and did I mention the sexy werewolves?

Tegan is an Enforcer in the Cascadia pack. She's also the Alpha's sister and a woman who has buried herself in her job to avoid the pain and loss of her mate's death. Just when she begins to come out of her shell, she accepts a date with a sexy human. The first time they have sex...the mate bond snaps into place. Now Tegan will need every ounce of patience and understanding she can pull up to try and help this human male understand just what a mate bond means...other than smoking hot sex!

Ben has been hurt by a woman before and now, nearing forty, he's just gaining back his will and urge to dominate a woman. He's looking for an exclusive sexual relationship and as soon as he catches sight of Tegan, he's sure she'll be the perfect submissive for him. And he's right...he's also apparently--her mate? Jeez, have sex once and now she's saying they're as good as married? Oh, did I forget to mention Ben is a human cop working with her brother's pack to try and find the insane wolf who's trying to kill that whole family?

Great addition to the series (I have 'em all!) and a smoking hot love story. WARNING: Includes consensual BDSM including bondage, submission, dominance, rope play, spanking, flogging, and paddling...oh my!

I cannot get enough of this Cascadia Wolves series! And I loved the romance between Josh and Michelle. It's so much more than a second chance romance--they both have secrets that they've kept and kept them from each other! I loved the intermixing of lore--werewolf, witch and jaguar shifter. Loved how the pack rallied behind Josh and Michelle's mating. Loved how the other witches welcomed Michelle and gave her the friendship and support she's so desperately needed in her life. I cannot wait for Jack's story in the spin off series! ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

Ohh dis ones yummy.

Were do I start hmm ...

Ben ... ohh wow!! He is so yummy.
All tall dark and ohh so demanding! I really did love him. Although he's human he was already sitting pretty high up on the alpha scale. He's gruff and unapologetic but he towed the line between firm but sweet like a freaking pro!. Totally upfront about his feeling of wanting a relationship instead of a quick fuck, it was extremely refreshing to have to open honestly from the beginning. There is a few parts through the story were I imagined junk punching him. As a whole though he's a great lead a wonder to a women's imagination (;.

Tegan is my favourite kind of heroine. Feisty fiery and not scared to be a certified badass she definitely had me in awe of her. Having dealt the most horrendous blow in life by loosing her mate, for 4 long years it was as if the life had been sucked out of her. She was alive and well, but never really living. Until she decides it's ready to move on or at least try.
She knew from the moment she laid eyes on Ben that he meant something to her. Not exactly that he was her mate but for the first time in years he made her feel, made her forget and made her want to trust him. I admire her for her strength. I respected her character and with how she fought for what she wanted without sacrificing who she was. She all round genuinely was a brilliant read and a definite favourite heroine for me.

Together as a couple they are Fire!!! Being both dominant characters I was extremely surprised at how well they worked. I mean there is only one dominant in the bedroom... and holy shit I'd submit. There taste lean more on the BDSM train however in comparison to what I've read it's not what I'd call hardcore. Some light flogging, paddling. Restraining with cuffs and rope, and a definite D/s relationship but only in the bedroom. The chemistry is completely of the charts. The sex is super hot and leaves lots for the imagination to run with!. They have a couple of bumpy rides(pun intended Lovelies ;) you just keep those dirty minds running). But with some great grovelling and smoking make up sex.. all is right with the world. They're characters growth is really good and all round they are super entertaining to read.

As well as our lovely main characters the side characters are also very entertaining. Nothing is ever smooth sailing so the storyline was jam packed with suspense, hilarious sarcastic wit, some surprises and a whole lot of loving. In total you get a rollercoaster of an emotional journey but non the less it was a great book.

I liked this one better than the last despite the fact that the way that Dane writes D/s kink here doesn’t really work for me (or maybe it’s quarantine blahs, I dunno). D/s is very take-it-or-leave-it for me most of the time, so do with that as you will. 😉

Yes, the first half is heavy on the relationship and a lot of (juvenile) angst, but once Ben & Tegan get their act together, the overall story arc is pretty good.

I know you’re probably thinking, why are you rereading these if they’re just 3 stars?

A. 3 stars isn’t bad. It’s just not “ermuhgod these are the best evah!”.
B. Our library just got the De La Vega Cats series in Audio, I started listening to Trinity and remembered that Jack from that book is heavily featured as a secondary character *throughout* this whole series. So yeah, I’m going to read them again for that.

Not my favorite in the series. It just couldn't keep my attention, so I powered through the last quarter of the book. Things started to get better near the end. Still going to continue with the series though.

I got lost in this fabulous read…

I don’t want to say it was a fantastic paranormal read because I don’t want to pigeon-hole it to just one category. It was a freakin’ great read period! Love, family, laughter. Danger, loss, grief. Paranormal, wolves, pack politics. Jealousy, revenge, greed. Oh, there are just so many different places to start listing what was great about this story…

“Playtime is over.”

This is the third book I’ve read in this series and it is my new favourite! I caught the novella but missed book two (I will be correcting that quickly). Lex and Cade’s sister Tegan lost her mate a few years ago and has been coasting through life since then. She is functioning but not feeling, keeping herself apart from her friends and family. Making the choice to take back her life, she finds Ben, a human, someone who calls to her soul… He is her mate…

Ben is an FBI agent who has proven himself to be a friend to the pack. He was attracted to Tegan and wanted to see where things would go. Little did he know though who Tegan’s family was...
Life is all about timing and Tegan and Ben are at odds almost right away. There was no crazy drama, no far-fetched, hard to relate circumstances. Instead, it was two people stumbling onto each other and dealing with a whole host of emotions and feelings, all while hell was breaking loose around them. Their emotions became my emotions as their struggles grabbed me completely.
Things come to a head, as they do, and it was explosive on all fronts! I looked up after reading the last pages and had to pause for a moment as I came back to my own world. Not that I was in any hurry….

“Mine,” he whispered and she nodded. “Mine.”

There is a lot more to come and I want to return to Cascadia as soon as humanly/wolfly possible! ~Diane, 5 stars

An Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book was received free via Netgalley for an honest review.

With only one book left in the Cascadia Wolves series, we finally start to see more of the worldbuilding I had been hoping for, a little bit better characterization, and characters I actually wanted to like and root for.

Wolf Unbound is Tegan's book, and she does not disappoint as a protagonist. Unlike the earlier women, she rarely comes across as whiny. She seems much more grounded and more likable. Ben is less interesting as a character and his family leave a lot to be desired. Like the previous books, the mating is sudden and unexpected. For the life of me, I can't figure out how the Wardens have no mate sense whatsoever.

The continuing storyline of the Pellini Group really takes off in Wolf Unbound and more packs, the National leadership, and a broader range of characters come into play. This really contributed to my enjoyment of the book since this had been so thin in the other books. It had a way better plotline than the more thinly-veiled vehicles previous books seemed to be.

I continued to be disappointed in the vast amount of telling and not showing. The stilted dialogue was still off-putting. The "let's call any garden variety bigot a Nazi" was quite off-putting.

Despite this, I liked Tegan enough and was happier with the events that I liked this book more than the previous ones. I'm geared up for the finale since I have been waiting for Cade's book the whole series.

Sadly originally had to DNF this book even though I adore the characters, especially the characters that are in the Cascadia Wolf Pack. It feels like there are two books kinda smushed together....there's the romance side that in this book rapidly becomes more explicit to the point I didn't want to read those parts. Having said that there was the other side of the book on how the packs are trying to unify and work together to find out if Warren Pellini has the Lycanthropy virus and finally oust him from the rather comfortable niche he has created for himself within the National Pack.
I may try to pick this one back up at some point as I love the plot pack side of the books just Dominant/submissive part puts me off. As a women that was on the receiving end of domestic violence it didn't sit so well.
Decided I had to read as the plot being so good outweighs the tmi scenes!
FULL REVIEW TO FOLLOW!
So I have got through the explicit racier parts of the book. Once I was more immersed in the plot I loved reading the book and didn't want to put it down. In my opinion this book would be just as good and for me much better without the really heavily descriptive explicit sexual scenes in it.

Wolf Unbound (Cascadia Wolves, #3) by Lauren Dane 2021 relisten: Basically what I said before with the addition of this entry seems to have more story with the sex scenes intermingled. Previous installments had a lot of sex and not that much story, IMO. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the other books. I did. Also, I'd forgotten that the hero shares the same first name with a fairly substantial character in WOLVES' TRIAD and the woman who previously broke Ben's heart in this book shares the same name as the Ben in the other book's mate, who was a real piece of work. Anyway. Again, the overall plot arc is still in play but there's a full circle in Ben and Tegan's relationship in this book.

Original review: The plot thickens. Tegan and Ben are a great couple and the author has a good handle on the D/s aspects of the hero and heroine. Lots of conflict--internal and external between the human cop, Ben Stoner, and pack bodyguard/ruling family daughter, Tegan Warden. On to the next one.

This book series gets hotter and hotter and wow i want so much more. This time we follow the relationship of Ben Stoner and Tegan Warden, we get to know what happened before they met and then lucky for us we get to follow after but boy it keeps you on the edge of your seat! There's twists, turns and so much more that i cannot really put it into words and do this series justice. We also still get our fix of the hot Warden Clan and a certain Lex Warden. The thing i love most is that even though each book is mainly focused on one couple, you still get all the other couples you've meet along the way so the story is so much more. If i have to say it a thousand times.... Read Lauren Dane and trust me, you won't be disappointed!

If one is going to write about wolf shapeshifters, could we please some shape-shifting going on?

And what is it about the fated mates' trope that means people don't invest in getting to know each other? This story is very thin on actual storyline other than getting it on. The bad guys just have a walk-on rather than actually do anything.

This volume is just a retelling of the first two and I am bored silly.

Enjoyed this book and loved the BDSM element coming from Ben - while it was pretty mild - it was nice to see some acknowledgement of his Dominance. Tee was a treat and I'm glad she got her second chance ..

The Cascadia Wolves will do anything to protect their own. Tegan Warden knows that better than anyone. The Pack closed ranks around her years ago when her mate died, and much as she appreciates their support, it's time to move on. That means dating—and for Tegan, it also means finding someone who understands her needs in the bedroom.

Finding Ben.
The dominant human may not be a wolf, but he makes Tegan shiver from their first encounter. He knows what she needs and doesn't hesitate to give it to her. What's more, they share a bond beyond sex. It's been years since any man has made her feel so alive, so beautiful and desired.

But there's an enemy working against the Cascadia Wolves, an enemy gathering forces to strike. The looming war is a threat to wolves and humans alike, and if they can't stop it, the love that Tegan and Ben have worked so hard to find may not be enough to protect them from what's coming.

Ms. Dane continues to build a pack dynamic for the Arcadia Pack. Teagan was the brave soul, mourning the loss of her husband, but now she is ready to live again. If only those in her pack will let her. Fast paced and quick read. Learn more of the characters and members of the pack. The more you read the more you crave.

My rating of "Wolf Unbound" is 4.75 out of 5 stars.

There are no words...oh wait yeah... There is

I can't even finish this book. Im 40% done and i seriously cant read anymore. Its not the d/s fetish, but the fact that everyone in this book is either a dick or a pussy. I love reading books where the romance is between human male and supernatural female. I just read wildcat before reading this and its a fucking terrific compared to this. These characters are in pain and the author gives them just enough free will to know it but not be able to do a fucking thing about it. The only reason any of these characters like each other is because the mate bond trains them to. When not together they feel more and more pain and when they are together they feel pleasure. Its not love its psychological torture until they submit to the authors will. I cant relate to any of them cause id kill myself on principle than be roped into a divinely arranged forced marriage and thats what this is no matter what the author calls it. Mate bond my ass. I want to scream at the characters to not give in and say "fuck it theres ALWAYS another choice". THERE IS NO HIGHER POWER THAT KNOWS YOUR HEART BETTER THAN YOU KNOW YOURSELF!! I never thought id say this but in this case becoming a werewolf does sound like a curse. With that said i havnt read any of the other books in the series and honestly from the hints they have dropped so far id probably enjoy them about as much as i enjoyed this on. Maybe even more so if i understand the "anchor" wolf right. God this is worse than twilight. I didnt think that was fucking possible. Atleast i finished twilight before i bitched about it. Heres my recommendations for good mate books if you wanna read something worth a damn. "God touched", "the night huntress series", "the mercy Thompson series", "the croc and the fox", "wild cat" just to name a few but i could go on. Seriously im not that guy who usually writes bad reviews but this book offended my sense of freedom in a bad way. Good luck to ya if this book is ur kind of thing

Tegan Warden & Ben Stoner

It's been 4 years since Tegan lost her mate and after getting a "visit" from him she's ready to partially put herself back out there. Of course, her overprotective brothers want to keep her sheltered.

She goes to a sex club, and her friend introduces her to Ben. It goes well and they agree to continue to see one another. Things take an unexpected turn, and they both freak a bit, but especially Ben since he's human.

I liked that Tegan realized and spoke up about how she understood what Ben was going through, but everything isn't about him. Anyone who's read any thought I've had about a book knows that I gravitate and appreciate a kick ass heroine and when the girl posse's have another back. Both of those things are present here.

I also like that even though this is paranormal the author still dealt with prejudices people face for being different than the majority.

Becoming Whole

Teagan has just been existing for four years since her mate died but after several dreams with him urging her to live again, she is ready to try. When she meets sexy human Ben she feels a real connection and wants to give a relationship a try but fate has more in store when they are mates their first time together. It is a major adjustment for both of them but more so Ben even if he was the police liaison to the Pack. These two find their way and more I this intriguing and dirty read.

Great book.

Unsure why I didn’t review this waaaay back when it first came out. Ben and Tegan what can I say. Hot stuff! Teared up every time Tegan spoke about her dead mate Lucas, but she found her HEA with Ben, eventually! He irritated me often with his attitude after the claiming however, in reality we would have all acted the same. This series grows better with each book. The upcoming war bringing action, mafia and blood. Love Lauren Dane’s spin on werewolves.

Very similar in tone and structure to the earlier books in the series, Wolves' Triad continues the familiar blend of pack dynamics, steamy moments, and light suspense.

It loops back to previous characters and plot threads. Still, it’s an average listen that might appeal more to fans who enjoy continuity and familiar beats.

I am committed now so will be finishing the series

Teagan had lost her mate four years ago. She was a werewolf and the usually mate for life. Luckily there had been an anchor in the tri bond so Teagan didn’t also doe but her anchor Abe had already found his mate so he could not step in for Teagan’s husband and mate Lucas. Lucas had been everything to Teagan her best friend. Partner, her mate. Teagan had three dreams in the last month of Lucas the dream two weeks ago made it clear he wanted her to let go of him and start to live again and find a new love and mate. There was something big coming. Teagan had been living with her brother Lex and her sister in law Mia. Lex was The enforcer of the pack and her other brother Cade was the Alpha of the Cascadia pack. Teagan was ready to go home it was only twenty miles from Lex’s home. Mia tells Lex to let her go. Pellini is in an enemy who is looking for any way he can hurt one of them. Teagan is a guard on lex’s Enforcer team. Teagan is closest to Layla even though she has a twin Megan. Layla is the one that got her through the death of Lucas and the hard horrific time after. Lucas had been an Army Ranger something he had always wanted to do. Layla was glad to see Teagan start to come back to life after so long. Lucas had been killed in Afghanistan. Teagan went to Club De Sade - a BDSM club. Teagan was looking for someone who would use a flogger and knew how to use it right. Teagan was a submissive is this aspect of her life only. There was a human looking for a regular sub but Teagan wasn’t ready to commit but Ben agreed to spend that evening with Teagan but he wanted her blindfolded before she came into the room with him. But her friend Ryan was going to observe through a window to make sure Teagan was ok while she was with Ben. After their session Teagan was surprised how strongly she reacted to Ben. Ben asked Teagan if he could buy her a drink Teagan suggested coffee as she still had to go to work. Ben was a cop but had been doing a lot of work on Pellini and with the werewolf packs. Templeton Mancini was the Alpha of the National Pack which was the ruling pack of all the packs. Warren Pellini believed Templeton and the National’s pack enforcer Jack Meyers were in his pocket. But in reality they were working with the FBI and some of the other packs to try to bring down Pellini. Pellini pretty much taken over Sargasso and Quinta- they were packs on the border which made sense as he could move drugs and guns a lot easier now. Pellini was working on on Michigan and maple for the same reasons. They have to find out if Pellini has the virus before they make a move.otherwise human and wolves would be in terrible danger. There had been a lycanthropy virus had been stolen and it was a big threat. Ben had been a good cop for fifteen years. Then Teagan and Ben kissed Teagan but stopped at that. Cade warned Ben not to hurt his sister. When Teagan went out to patrol she scented two wolves she didn't recognize and gun oil. Teagan was a woman who went by her gut it had served her well. Something in Ben called to Teagan and made her respond in a way she hadn’t in a long time. Teagan didn’t want to ignore that. Ben and Teagan had sex and then Ben passed out which meant they had mated. Ben was completely stunned and was backing off and Teagan cried as he was leaving. Being mated was like being married in the human world only more intense. The next morning when she went to her brothers everyone could smell Ben and Teagan had mated. Teagan threatened Cade with a gun to his head if he didn’t leave her mate alone. Mia went to talk to Ben as she had been human when her and Lex mated and all she had went through might help Ben accept things a little easier. Ben was ready for a girlfriend but not a wife.
I absolutely loved this paranormal story it was excellent. I loved when Teagan put a gun to her brother and alpha’s head in defense of Ben even though he had hurt her Ben was Teagan’s mate and her first loyalty was to him. I had to laugh. I loved how Ben got possessive when he seen another man in Teagan’s home when he went to talk to her. I also love how protective the wolves were with each other and touchy feely. Also how Ben immediately agreed to be bitten and turned so he could go find Teagan and rescue her. Also how Ben pulled Teagan back from death. Just will say loved the whole story and is one of my new favorites. I really couldn’t find anything to complain about. I loved the plot and the characters and all the ins and outs of this story and i highly recommend.

Tegan Warden is Cascadia's Enforcer. Her mate Lucas was KIA four years ago, and she's been half living ever since. When she meets Ben Stoner at a local BDSM club, she feels a sense of connection that she thought dead.

Great read! The chemistry between Ben and Tegan is hot! I was hooked from beginning to end, the story is fast paced with lots of drama and suspense. Looking forward to more in the series.
