The fifth of Kate Skylark's co-written true child abuse stories. Like many little girls the world over, Amy didn’t have the best start in life, living on a rough council estate, with no dad and an alcoholic mother. But Amy is determined to do better. She works hard at school to make sure she succeeds in life. However, all Amy’s careful plans, hopes and dreams for the future are about to be smashed. Her neglectful mother invites abusive new boyfriend, Ray, into their home, and his reign of terror begins. As Ray’s attentions turn to her little sister, Amy must summon all her strength and take action. She has only one ambition now, to save her sister, Ivy, from suffering a terrible fate. Can she save Ivy in time? This book is based upon a true account of child abuse, and as such contains passages that some readers may find disturbing. For every book sold, a donation will be made to the NSPCC.
First of all I want to say Amy what a great sister you are you protected ivy with all your strength it broke my heart reading what Amy and Ivy went through I'm so so glad Amy spoke put to her uncle Tony and Auntie Jo I'm glad Amy and ivy were living with Tony and Jo every child should feel safe and protected but like Amy my parents didn't care either.Amy what a wonderful mum making sure your little girl doesn't become put in danger I had tears streaming my face reading this book.Amy listened to the shop keeper and her uncle she worked incredibly hard to give her self a good future.Like Amy said we all have weaknesses Amy should be proud she passed her Exams thank you for sharing Amy's story.
Amy you are one strong girl. I am sure your sister looks up to you forprotecting her like that. Yes I am a Nan and no I dont think your wrong. I myself would have done same if ever faced with that problem. Kids need protected. I have been sexually abused. Not in my home by a parent . Its a long story.
Of course it’s heart breaking - I will never understand why a mother would allow anyone touch a child like that I lived through verbal abuse and have forgiven him too, but my mom seems to think he was the best of the best
There certainly was a back of the neck hair raising! I can’t imagine how a mother could actually not care at all for her children, because my mom was the best until the day she passed. I absolutely loved my childhood… I am glad this had a good ending.
