Sagittarius The Art of Living Well and Finding Happiness According to your Star sign Author: Sally Kirkman
Do you believe in the constellations?
I always had a intrest for spiritually. From an early age I was fascinated by crystals and their supposed medicinal properties. In my later life I began to delve more into this subject. So I looked up the meaning of my dreams and started reading about the history of divination.
When I wanted to learn more about the zodiac signs I quicky found out that some zodiac books can be really difficult to understand for beginners.
This is a cute little book that describes the character traits that might belong to the zodiac sign Sagittarius.
I recognized some points, but there were also descriptions that did not fit my personality at all.
This is a nice book to give as a gift to someone who is interested in this subject.
Sagitarius There were things about this book that sounded very much like me. I am a VISIONARY. I SEE things all the time (BIG THINGS). MY GAZE IS ALWWAYS SET TO THE FUTURE. I’m always thinking about how to make the future better than the present. I am SPONTANEOUS. I will see something and get it just like *that* (snaps fingers) if I want it. It says YOU GO BIG AND KEEP PUSHING BACK THE BOUNDARIES. You should hear about the things I want to do in the future. If *that’s* not pushing boundaries to the limit and creating new ones. I don’t know what is (that is the things inside my head). It says that I’m an UNSTOPPABLE FORCE (which is encouraging to know). It says I’m rarely short of IDEAS oR INSPIRATION and this is TRUE! I’m always being guided to thinkgs that spark something and my mind is off and running. This can be a little inconvenient when the ideas come when I’ve gotten into bed. That’s why I always have to keep my table next to me.
My greatest fear for me it says is not knowing where I’m going or what I’m doing. YES! How in the world did this book’s author know that? It also says you want everything to happen in an instant and don’t have patience for the slow, train to success. Well... I mean when things go slow for YEARS on end then YEAH you might want things to hurry up and happen in an instant.
In the love department, it says it will take someone UNIQUE TO CAPTURE MY ATTENTION. And when it says “capture my attention” that might mean physically just placing themselves in front of me and saying “Hey. I’m your future.”. Chances are if they don’t do this and wait for me to notice them, it just won’t happen. Or even if they wait for *me* to make the move. It says you’re an OPEN and HONEST partner. ABSOLUTELY! My family has this thing that I do not like and are prone to say “You can’t tell anyone this.” Or “You can tell (fill in one of their names) this.” Because of this I would HAVE to have a partner that I could be 100 percent honest and who would keep it 100 with me also.
It says in in a partner I look for someone DIRECT and HONEST. Playing mind games is not your thing it says. Then it says you need a partner who won’t restrict you and give you your freedom (or be to clingy-I added this). They can’t be possessive or jealous (Been there done that Glad it’s in the past. I was younger). It says you need a partner that will be an anchor day in and day out and one that will be your best friend. All this sounds about right so no arguments.
It said I like friends that are EASY GOING! VERY TRUE! One of the things I love the most about my relationship with my best friend is that it’s EASY. I can count on one hand in the past years how many agruments we’ve had. Not to say we don’t have difficult times but over all we pretty much have a easy, breezy, kind of thing. That works for me! It says my generosity knows no bounds. I think this is true. Not only do I want to have a good life, I want the same for others and if I can help someone get something that will give them even the littest happiness-because life tends to rob us of so much of it-then my purpose is being meet in this world. And sometimes there really is nothing that can compare to generosity.
It says you don’t keep secrets well, but you don’t do it out of a need to be vindictive. You just want to help people out. It’s just too hard to know sometimes what is and what isn’t (tho you do know clearly a lot of times). My thing is this, just don’t tell me if you don’t want it told -just in case I get the urge-. In health, it says you DON’T TAKE KINDLY BEING TOLD WHAT TO DO or GIVEN TOO MANY RULES. YES! Because I have a lot of health issues (and have since a young age) as you can imagine both mothers -tho I do get that they do this out of caring- try to come down hard on me about what to eat and how much to eat and (what I think) are unnecessary diets that restrict some of the things I love the most to eat and rink. Some of it I go along with. Others.. not so much and every now and then it will make me feel resentful and a little frustrated when they start in with the long list of what I’m not supposed to have and the side eyes when I’m at a family event and I try to eat something or there non-approval list.
It mentions that’s why an exercise class would be hell for me because you like to do things on your own time line. Coicedently, I *just* took an exercise program for two months and for the most part this was true. While I *did* get something out of the class and I learned that just 15 minutes helped improve my blood sugar readings, I didn’t like how they felt this class had to be “challenging” or as they said “you’d get bored.” I’m not quite sure where this MYTH comes from. I’ve also seen it in relationships. So because of this they were always tinkering with the machines and being them on levels that got harder and harder and let me tell you, I personally would have perfered a nice EASY work out. Yeah, Yeah I know that’s not how it’s supposed to be but after a while it got a little *too* “challenging”. And YES I get tired of hearing the word “moderation.”
As for clothes it was also correct by saying I dress for COMFORT. It says jeans are your uniform. This is ironic because I never even use to wear jeans. It also mentions sweat shirts and sweat pants and no (or very little) makeup. This is probably why I look a lot younger than I really am. It also mentions that you can’t sit still long. You need something to stimulated. I think this is half true and half false. I have no problem with sitting still AS LONG AS I have something to stimulate me (usually this is keeping busy with a book or writing).
Interestingly it gives DREAM INTERPRETER and PUSBLISHER as ideal career choices. Dream interpretation is a gift of mine and a puhlishing company is one of the thins I would really like to have one day to help other authors that are struggling with where to go to and what to do make their dreams happen. IT also says I don’t think twice about making an IMPULSE PURCHASE.
These are the things that JUST DID NOT FIT WHO I AM. It says I’m the kind of person that ALWAYS LOOKS ON THE BRIGHT SIDE! NOT! It says I LOVE THE SOCIAL WORLD AND AM A PEOPLE PERSON! NOT! I’m not even on social media. Well not FB anyway. I do have social media accounts but I post very little and I’m not unfriendly but I’m not the kind of person that easily can go up to people and be comfortbale like I’ve known them for years. It says I’m an EXTROVERT, and ATHLETIC, and I have FAITH THAT EVERYTHING WILL WORK OUT IN THE END. NOT! NOT! AND NOT! I am the TOTAL OPPOSITE of all these things.
It says YOUR EXTROVERTED AND CONFIDENT PERSONALITY MAKE IT EASY FOR YOU TO MEET PEOPLE. YOUR SOCIAL CIRCLE IS ALWAYS FULL. WRONG! Confession time. I am the LEAST CONFIDENT in this department. While YES I know what I deserve and won’t settle for less than that (and some people sadly don’t know this) the scraps and brusises and knocks outs of life have left me thinking it’s best that I just left this area alone PERIOD. So basically I’ve just been content (and found contentment in having a single life. As for a full social social, I’m good with just having one really amazing friend.
THE THRILL OF AN AFFAIR IS A COMPLETE TURN ON! NOT! An affair sounds like DRAMA and then WHATS MINE IS MINE. I DEFINITELY DO NOT WANT antoher woman’s man. FOR WHAT? There’s no future in it. I knew we’re in an age and time where it’s an acceptable thing to be “a side chick” but I just think this is REALLY DAMN SAD and I wonder how we’ve slide so far. This is A LOT of women’s problems. THEY SETTLE for less and they’re worh tSO MUCH MORE! So NO! The thought of affair DOES NOTHING FOR ME!
Then it talked about the IDEA L HOME for me being on RANCH with CATTLE. UH NOOO! The ideal home for me would be on a BEACH in the sun with the quiet of the waves around me. So, this was a half-and half accurate book. It got some things right but it got some things wrong too. Interesting read tho!
This little book is described as an introductory guide into a given star sign and dwells on many traits of it, including friendship, health and compatibility.
Whether or not you you believe in Astrology is one thing, I personally find the topic of zodiac signs fascinating. It is a short and cute read I picked up from Amazon.
It is a nice and easy read, there isn't much to review about it per say, but it does give an insight into the day-to-day living as well as the many talents and qualities a person of a given star sign is meant to posses. It has a lot of information about a lot of topics and it was generally fun to read during a lunch break, one sitting type of book.
My brother & my grandmother are both Sagittarius, and both don’t entirely like it. I mean there some few behaviours they have, for example, they are very optimistic they do love religion and philosophy can vary all over the place sometimes with their thinking; straightforward when it comes to the feelings and thoughts, it is annoying, but that’s a few things I like about them. Sagittarius are courageous people; they don’t want fear to stop them; they ignore fear anyway. I have a north node in Sagittarius, so I love learning new things, which is one of the characteristics of a Sagittarius high learning looking for a new adventure to explore in life.
Pretty good! Really a good eye opener for beginners who want to learn more about the zodiac! I not only found out some stuff about me (some, I kinda figured.. haha - but, definitely learned a bit more deeper than I thought I would from this read) as well as friends and family that are other signs. My mirror sing of Gemini - SPOT. ON. I have a good # of Geminis in my life and they are amazing! The symbiotic nature of my husband (Pisces) and myself made so much sense and was spot on, too! Definitely worth a read. I plan to read about the others signs' books soon, as well. :)
I think this book does what it was intended to do. It’s a cute read and gives a little insight into different personality types and fun to read about if you compare to what the “characteristics” or your sign are. It’s fun but I never take this stuff too seriously.
