Understanding

Rate this book
The world we live in is inundated with the noise of a tremendous amount of information. The kind of information comes to us, our children, our workers, our parents, our organizations and institutions at a phenomenal pace. We seem to be struggling with catching up, internalizing and digesting these volumes of information. As a result we read, we see and we hear what we have very little understanding of.
Understanding of what we see, read and hear is what will make the difference to the world we live in. What we currently have is a situation where we are faced with a lot of information, but nothing is changing our world because while we have the information, we do not have the understanding necessary to apply it.
Understanding of an instruction will turn the information received into knowledge and when applied, will give us wisdom and will subsequently keep us, prosper us and preserve us. The concept of understanding is fundamental to our everyday lives. If we could only understand each other, we could eliminate hatred, suspicion, and discrimination. Whenever we see someone humiliating another or shouting or behaving in an unbecoming manner, we see a display of misunderstanding of whatever information they may have received. If people took time to understand the information received or hear or see, they would respond differently.
In this book we will underline the urgent need to have a spirit of understanding. It starts with you – one individual; then the family will notice the difference, the workmates will see the difference, your church members will see the difference and slowly it spreads because with understanding you will always rule.
