The kid is now a man, and he’s got something to prove…..
Caleb “Cruise” Harrison
“A Dad is a son’s first hero……”
All my life I’ve looked up to my Dad, there’s nothing I ever wanted to do more than be a member of the Moonshine Task Force right next to him. I said no to playing football professionally to stay in Laurel Springs and fulfill my dream.
I’m biding my time, paying my dues, and soaking up any bit of information my fellow MTF members slip my way. To most of them I’m the kid they watched grow up, and while they’re proud of me, they don’t take me seriously.
Life is status quo until the morning all hell breaks loose in our small town threatening everyone I know and love – including the one woman I can’t get out of my head.
Ruby Carson
“My favorite place? In his arms……”
Caleb saved me from the worst date of my life, swooping in like the fixer he is. Smiling his panty-melting grin, he grabbed my hand, and extricated me from the longest ninety minutes known in the history of the world.
Instead, he took me on the best date I’ve ever had. We’ve been inseparable since that crazy night.
It hasn’t been picture-perfect. His job is dangerous, it worries me, even when he tells me not to. One gorgeous summer day, it all comes crashing down on us.
The man who has my heart is in the middle of a FUBAR situation that has no good ending. My hope is, when the smoke clears Caleb walking towards me, arms out-stretched, with that grin on his face, before he envelopes my body into the hug only he can give.
That’s what would happen in a perfect world – but I’ve never known a perfect world – not even with Caleb……
Cruise follows Caleb, the son of Mason from the previous book in this series. Jumping some time into the future Caleb is now all grown up and apart of the MTF. I really liked that we got to see his as a mature man and not freshly out of college, I thought it gave more depth to him that he was so at the point in his life where he was sure about what he wanted. Especially when it came to Ruby, he was ready to go all in without any hesitation and I liked that connection they shared that made him so sure.
This story was just a super easy and lighthearted read. I don't mean east in a bad way, just that there wasn't a ton of drama or angst thrown in and instead this author delivered us an amazing couple that kept me intrigued by themselves alone, nothing else needed. I adored both Caleb and Ruby and liked getting to see them together. I thought they suited each other perfectly and it was great to see Ruby be so understanding about Caleb's job.
Overall, this was a brilliant book that I would definitely recommend to anyone that wan't to enjoy two characters that have amazing chemistry. It can be read as a standalone with only mentions of past characters but no spoilers. I definitely recommend the whole series though just because all of the books are amazing.
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.
I can’t believe the series is over! It was such a lovely experience!
Let me start with saying how much I loved to read about Mason and Karina, the couple from the previous book Menace and this H’s parents. I love them! My absolute favorite couple in this series!
I liked Caleb and Ruby, they were great together, but his parents are still the best! There were some small things I wasn’t fond of, but overall it was a safe and very pleasant read!
I guess I need to reread this series soon. Looking forward to the next one by Laramie. She is such a great author, she writes sincerely good books!
Well done, dear Laramie, very well done!
***** My pre-review post *****
Did you know, that Laramie Briscoe takes 1 request per book and makes it happen? *lol* I'm the 1st one here!!! :-))))
Please please, pretty please *with cherry on top*, write more about Caleb's parents and his little sister (maybe there will be more siblings?) -> Menace
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
Cruise is the sixth and final book in the Moonshine Task Force Series from Laramie Briscoe. This series is so amazing that I would recommend you starting from the very beginning so you don't miss a thing that happens in these characters life. They do tend to show up in other books and you will get more pleasure from the series if you read them all together.
Cruise is now a man and has something to prove. All his life he has looked up to his Dad., there's nothing he ever wanted to do more than be a member of the Moonshine Task Force right next to him. He said no to playing football professionally to stay in Laurel Springs and fulfill his dreams. He is biding his time,, paying his dues, and soaking up any bit of information his fellow MTF members slip his way. To most of them he is the kid they watched grow up, and while they are proud of him, they don't take him seriously. Life is status quo, until the morning all hell breaks loose in the small town threatening everyone he knows and loves--including the one woman he can't get out of his head...Ruby Carson. The girl Caleb saved from the worst date of her life, swooping in like the fixer he is. Smiling his pantie melting grin, he grabbed her hand and extricated her from the longest ninety two minutes know in the history of the world. Instead, he took her on the best date she ever had. They have been inseparable since that crazy night. It hasn't been picture-perfect. His job is dangerous, it worries her even when he tells her not to. One gorgeous summer day, it all comes crashing down around them. The man who has her heart is in the middle of a fubar situation that has no good ending. Her hope is, when the smoke clears Caleb is walking towards her, arms outstretched, with that grin on his face, before he envelopes her body into the hug only he can give. That is what would happen in a perfect world-but she has never known a perfect world, not even with Caleb.
If you have read this series then you met Caleb when he was a teenager and have basically watched him grow into the man he is now. Caleb has always wanted to be like his father and now that he is he is loving his job. On the night he meets Ruby he wasn't expecting it at all but it kicks off a love affair you guys are going to fall in love with. I don't want to say to much about the plot as I am afraid I will ruin something. I have love Caleb since I met him and I was so excited to have this book in my hands. He is everything and so much more than I hoped for. Ruby is an amazingly strong female character too and I really related to her. You see, I am married to a police officer and I know first hand the worry and fear that comes from watching them put that uniform on and go out away from me and his daughter and put his life on the line for people that don't even realize it. This book also will have you one the edge of my seat and I would be lying if I didn't say that I did not shed some tears. I wasn't expecting what happens in this book to happen and it really affected me because of who I am married to and the life I have lived for 23 years of worrying about him. You too might want to prepare yourself for Caleb's little sister. Oh holy goodness I fell so in love with that child!! She will crack you up and have you smiling just when you need it the most. This book is great and Laramie Briscoe did and absolutely amazing job of capturing the life and emotions of what it is like to married to someone in law enforcement. Thank you for that Ms. Briscoe. I don't think people realize just how hard that life is on the spouses.
Title: Cruise Author: Laramie Briscoe Genre: Contemporary Romance Series or Standalone: Standalone Series (Moonshine Task Force #6) Rating: ★★★★★
5 “I Want Me a Harrison Man” Stars!
I really didn’t know how this story was going to go down.
Having read this series from the beginning, these characters, these men, they’ve all come to own their own little pieces of my heart, even before their stories get told and they find their HEA.
That being said, Mason was the one to beat. He really was. Now, given that Cruise (Caleb) is his son, it should have been a no brainer, but to be honest, I didn’t know how the author would write Caleb, how his love story would unfold or if he’d come close to the precedent his father set in terms of me and this authors ability to tell a tale.
He did. He is a Harrison man, through and through. I loved this ride.
I also have to say I thoroughly enjoy the way this author tackles drama in her stories. Each one is unique to the people it’s about, but it also doesn’t drag out through the entire story. Like, you’re not drowning in nonsense and you don’t have a raft in sight. She handles it in a way where it does make an impact, but it isn’t useless or page filler.
It’s not the first time I’ve said that and if she keeps with the way all of her books have gone in this regard, it won’t be the last. I’m blown away by her ability to write a book that seems fast paced, while keeping it real, and not dragging things out needlessly for pages.
Giving you a connection, multiple ones really, family wise and romantic relationship wise, and making you with each page turned, build your own hopes and dreams for these couples you’re now so attached to. For this family. Because for me, this entire series is one gigantic family.
Caleb, if you’ve read any of the others, he’s not perfect. He hasn’t had the best start in life (his raising all things considered was great…#TeamMason) but he’s become a strong man regardless of beginnings. One who doesn’t love easy, but once he does, he does so with his entire being. But he’s still not perfect. He messes up. He has things he has to deal with. He’s human. So, I knew going in, something was going to happen here that would show how imperfect he was. But also show, and give the readers a chance to see, how the right person, the right people in this case, have the ability to pull you back out of the dark when things do happen. Remind you (or Caleb in this sense) of just how strong you are. Reminders of the type of man you are, and what kind of man you will or want to become.
It was such a treat to see this man all grown up. To see how similar to Mason he is, while still being uniquely different. I was invested in Caleb from his inception in these books and his story only made me love him more.
Honestly, these stories here, they get better and better. Stronger even, the deeper we go in. I’ll be sad to see this series end, but I know there will be more on the horizon and I can’t wait to see where it all goes. Where this author takes us next.
This was definitely a love story, a journey, and a HEA worth waiting for.
My thanks to the author and all others involved in letting me read an advanced copy of this story before official release. It was such an honor to travel along with Caleb, and of course, all the others again.
Caleb “Cruise” was the MTF member I didn’t know I needed. I started this series a few months ago and I’ve waited for Caleb to become the man he would be proud of. The story starts similar to the other MTF books because our men are freaking heroes but this was especially special because we got to see Caleb grow from a young boy into a man.
The achievements he has are our achievements and the joy he deserved is finally given to him. But as all things in this small town in the rural south there must be some riff raff. The limits of their love is tested on more than one occasion and the ultimate game of cat in mouse will come to an end for the Moonshine of course !!
This was a banger and I am happy I got to see the progression of these members of an elite team of total real town heroes who wear badges not capes.
Ruby and Caleb was such a great paring. I loved how he wanted nothing more than to be a part of MTF. I loved how her goal in life was to be the best teacher there is. I loved how he stepped up and saved her from a disaster of a date. Most off all I loved how she stood her ground when he was pushing her away.
This is really one of the best blue-collar series out there. It is fun, a bit of angst, hot, sexy, and sweet in all the right places. Laramie Briscoe knows how to write. I'm looking forward to reading more by her. As for this one? Easy 4,5*

This was just ok for me. It didn't Wowed me like his father's book did. The kid grew up but he couldn't step into his father's shoes. (This is my opinion of course.)
When things went sour he turned into a dick. I wanted to tell him get over it. He didn't need to be a dick to resolve his issues. He has done this in the previous books i remembered why I didn't like him before his father's book.
The heroine was just ok for me. I like my heroine's with confidence and this one had a bit of insecurity. Can't say anything else about her because like Caleb she didn't wowed me.
I don't know what I expected.. No, I know what I expected.. I expected fall in love with a character because i liked him in the previous book but what I got was just a meh book.
There were a couple of things that he said that bothered me.
There is nothing I like better than seeing someone who could have been a statistic in a couple of different ways, grow into a kind, caring, responsible adult and Laramie Briscoe gives readers that in Cruise. The product of a teenage pregnancy and a 16 year old single father after his mother refused anything to do with him, Caleb (Cruise) Harrison’s life wasn’t always easy; he suffered from the shame of his father being burdened with him, from anxiety of never being good enough for someone to stay, and from guilt of not being around to help his high school friend when he died. Caleb was one of the lucky ones to have a father who wanted him, believed in him, and was a role model to teach him what a good man looks like and Caleb’s desire to follow in his father’s footsteps and become an officer of the law and a member of the Laurel Springs Moonshine Task Force is his way of not only paying homage to his father, but to the men and women of the town that helped see him through his tough teen years. I knew going in to this book it would be an emotional one and it was, but more than that Cruise was a celebration of small town life, learning to trust another person completely, and finding someone who accepts you and believes in you no matter what life throws your way.
Nothing could have predicted that on a random night having dinner with his best friend that Caleb (Cruise) Harrison would meet the love of his life when he rescues her from what turns out to be an awful first date. Ruby Carson isn’t sure what to think when a local policeman breaks up her date, sends the scumbag packing, and then insists on seeing her home where he asks her out on a date, but there is something about him that makes her say yes on taking a chance.
There was something sweet about the way these two fell into a relationship and the easy way they had with one another from the start, but their passion was electric and their sexuality oozed off the page. I enjoyed watching them fall in love, integrate each other into their lives, and interacting with their families. One thing I’ve always appreciated about Ms. Briscoe’s books is that most often the conflict that occurs comes from an outside source, not because of some manufactured drama and while I was upset with the way Caleb reacted to an incident he was involved in, I could also understand the impact it had on his psyche.
Chocked full of friendship, fun, sexy times, and a whole lot of heart Cruise by Laramie Briscoe is another outstanding addition to her growing body of work and an excellent ending to this stellar series.
Oh man do I love Caleb! He has turned in to such a great man. I've loved watching him grow up throughout the MTF series. I've been so excited for this book and I was no let down. Caleb is the guy every girl wants. You know they type that loves their family, wants to settle down, and wants to be a good guy. That's him, I love that he looks up to his dad and loves his little sister and his mom (Karina). I love everything about him he's sweet and charming and even a little bit dirty. He's the whole package. And then there is Ruby, I love her too. She is so sweet and perfect for Caleb and fits right in with his family. Laramie did a great job matching those two up together. The love they have for each other shows throughout the entire book. That's what I love the most about Laramies books, the love between the characters. I love watching the characters fall in love and for me Laramie does the best job at that. Everyone of these books seems so natural and easy, they seem real. There is no forced connection. This was a fantastic ending to finish of the series. I really wish it wasnt over because I love all the characters in this series too much. Fantastic job Laramie, you knocked it out of the park with this one.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I was wondering how it will be? Cruise's story I mean. Because it could have been a huge risk or another proof of this author's talent. It could have been a disaster or a great story. And it's the last. Why? Oh, because Cruise is alike his father, yes, but is also so different. What I liked the most? Two things. The first one was seeing Cruise weaknesses. And that brings a lot to the whole story, credibility, quality, intensity. Because yes we all love a good looking cop, because of his gorgeous body, his alpha male vibe and his... skills. But Caleb is going to show you the whole package, his talents and his fears. His ups and downs. And that's make him human, real. And it's a big advantage to the story. But I said two things I liked about Cruise. The second is...well his rough side. And it's incredibly hot! There are some great steamy moments. Lol. It's a seriously turning on " mission". And it's going to reach its goal. So Cruise is the perfect mix of alpha male & tender lover but is also confidence, control and sensibility. What about Ruby Red? This girl was born to be the missing piece of Cruise's life. She complete him perfectly. The chemical attraction is explosive is instantaneous. And their relationship at the beginning is racing. Goes at full speed. Like their passion. But it makes them know each other better. It makes their relationship stronger and addictive. Oviously they would have some crisis, but even then she knows how to reach for him, how to hold his hand, how to be there only and exclusively for him. Because when you love someone you give it all.
Wow what a book to end the series with. I loved Caleb and Ruby they made such a great couple. From the moment the two of them meant the chemistry was electric. The things we learned about Caleb and his dark side ...... hot, hot, hot !! I think this book showed that there really is only one true soul mate for everyone. I have to tell you Ruby and Caleb were soul mates. Now I am kinda of hoping that maybe Morgan, Kelsea and Slater get there own books. I would love to hear all of their stories told. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book is what fans have been dreaming of since they first met Caleb as a young boy. We have seen him fight demons, show extreme maturity, and make all the ladies swoon. Finally...FINALLY we get his HEA! This book jumps ahead in the timeline. Caleb has finished college and has been working as part of the MTF for a few years. The Task Force guys and his family feature prominently in story.
Celeb saves Ruby from a terrible date and the rest is history--or so it seems. They start to date, fall in love even. But Caleb still has those demons he has kept hidden. He is a dream guy, seems to do all the right things. Very romantic. But all good things must end at some point--right?
Ruby is the perfect match for him. Somewhat feisty but also so happy that he pays attention to her and her life. What she hadn't prepared for is that she might not be enough for him. BUt love is the glue. Their world blew apart but love of family, love of friends and most important, love a good partner can help the healing process.
What a wonderful end to this series. Thank you to the author for hearing all the fans say we needed Caleb's story. Great to see the whole team and all the previous couples. Loved it!

Intoxicating, Captivating, and Tantalizing are exactly what Cruise bring to the table.
Laramie Briscoe's latest is laced with sexual attraction and intimate passion from the very first page. I was lucky enough to read a bit early which I thank my lucky stars because after Menace I was feeling a bit heartbroken with waiting for it.
Cruise landed on my lap and holy cow I was blown away by the grown up Caleb I mean this time around I was more then happy to see him all grown up and sexy and damn what an alpha mail he turned out to be. I would at any point in time jump into his bed hahahaha sorry goes out to my hubs but I am sure he will understand.
The heroine is a girl names Ruby I was a little skeptical going in, but once I got to know her I freaking adored her and if you know Laramie's work you know she wants you to be her girls BFF and she made me want to be Rubys BFF.
The chemistry between Caleb and Ruby is off the charts and I couldn't wait to see what the furture held for them, because they are meant to be together and are perfect for one another! A 5 STAR READ for sure!
I've loved watching Caleb grow up throughout this series, and Cruise shows what an amazing man he has become.
I loved this book. Caleb was everything I had imagined, and then some. He and Ruby connected from the start and had a beautiful story. Ruby was perfect for him. She has a sweet and selfless personality, so similar to Caleb. They complement each other beautifully.
Cruise was paced well and a story I was so invested in. It was sweet and steamy. The side characters are mostly the couples from the previous books in the series. While it reads perfectly as a standalone, the updates to where they are now was fun, especially Mason and Karina, Caleb's father and stepmother. 5 stars and a MUST READ from me.
With Cruise, Briscoe delivers the final installment of her Moonshine Task Force Series. A bittersweet and fitting end to our time with these characters that we have grown to love. Once again, the theme of family shines through the story. We are able to catch up with all of our favorite MTF couples, while getting to watch a grown up Caleb come into his own. Cruise was unique to Caleb and Ruby, while clearly belonging with the rest of series. I loved the way they met, the attraction, the build, all of it. I was hooked right from the start.
Sweet, exciting, and oh so sexy, I couldn’t get enough. I have loved each and every book in this series. I’m sad that their stories have come to an end but I’ve more than enjoyed the ride. I look forward to what Briscoe has in store for us next.
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
"Cruise" was the perfect way to end the Moonshine Task Force series!! I loved getting to see Caleb all grown up and being the man that Mason taught him to be!
Caleb and Ruby are perfect for each other and meet each other at the perfect time. "Cruise" had a good mix of sweet and hot that you will not want to put down. Caleb is so sweet and defiantly takes after his father in the romance department.
This whole series has been one that I know I will read over and over because I do not want to let the characters go. Laramie always gives us a book that grips your attention and "Cruise" is no different. Get ready for some action and one heart stopping moment that had me freaking out a little bit.
The Moonshine Taskforce is in my top 3 favorite series! I loved all the books that came before Cruise, but Cruise holds a special place in my heart. This book is such a sweet romantic novel. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I really suggest you read the whole series in order. It really adds to the story if you know what has come before.
Cruise follows Caleb, the son of Menace from the last book in the series. We met Caleb several books ago and he quickly made his way into readers hearts. He was a teenager in high school dealing with some stuff. Cruise follows Caleb as an adult. He has now returned to his home town from college. What happens next? Well pick up the book and find out.
The characters in this book are written very well. Caleb is such a sweet character. He has grown into such a great man. We already kind of know Caleb, but it was amazing to see how far he has come. Ruby is an amazing character as well. I love how outspoken she can be. I think her personality is the perfect balance for our Caleb.
These character meet in an interesting way. From the start, the chemistry is there. As they get to know each other, readers become invested in their relationship. Once thing finally heat up, it is like an explosion from all the tension building. This portion of the book was perfect.
Laramie is an amazing writer. I love how she hooks readers then reels them in to the point that they just have to know what happens next with her characters. The pace of this book is steady. I loved the characters. I loved how she integrated the characters from the other books as well. This was a perfect book for me.
Overall, I absolutely loved this book. I didn’t expect to get a book from Caleb, but I was beyond excited when I found out it was coming. I always had a soft spot for him. I would 100% recommend this book and entire series. If you love romance with a little bit of action, go back and start this series now!
Cruise is the last book in the Moonshine Task Force series and what a fabulous ending. I’m sad to see this series end.
Caleb aka Cruise has grown up in the series and now a man following in his father’s footsteps he is now firmly established as one of the crew. He has always looked up to his Dad, Mason aka Menace and the two are more like best buddies than father and son with only sixteen years between them. Not being the typical drop out, Caleb has been a model son with a few blips in his teenage years so it was now great to see his story as a man.
When Caleb see the young woman being verbally abused by her date in The Café, Caleb steps in then sees Ruby home. From then on both Ruby and Caleb get closer and then finally they develop a relationship which goes from strength to strength. These two have an instant attraction and the heat quickly rises from early on. His ‘Red’ gets him totally and understands his need for a little more dark as he understands this beauty is hiding a sexy depth under all her blushes.
This was a wonderful read with minimal angst and no silly misunderstandings to get in the way of a simple but sexy romance. It was amazing to catch up with all the MTF men and their families, especially Mason and Katrina. It was kind of like an extended epilogue of Menace and Rina with Kelsea who happen to be Cruise’s parents and little sister. It was a good feel factor read and so heart-warming but filled with some hot passion and chemistry.
I have loved this series throughout and I was a little apprehensive when I found out the last book was going to be Caleb as I’m not a fan of ‘new gen’ books of a series. However I needn’t have worried as everything was so believable and great to see how the others had progressed in their lives. A wonderful cast of characters that I took to my heart and I will be sad to see them go but a series that is great to go back to and do re-reads when having a book hangover. Oh yes like now! Five stars.
Cruise follows Caleb, the son of Mason from the previous book in this series. We get to see Caleb all grown up –for we have jumped sometime in the storyline of the series and Caleb is now all grown up and apart of the MTF. Caleb is all grown up, mature, sexy, and is not the college kid we remember him as. The story starts out when Caleb goes to meet his best friend and coworker for dinner. Nothing could have predicted that on this random night at dinner with his best friend that Caleb (Cruise) Harrison would meet the love of his life when he rescues her from what turns out to be a horrific and terrifying first date. Ruby-OMG I love this woman. She is sweet, sassy and beautiful. She is what Caleb has been looking for pretty much all his adult life. Caleb and Ruby are perfect for each other and meet each other at the perfect time. She fits right in with his family and friends. This final book in the series is powerful, emotional, and full of FEELS. This story takes you on a roller coaster adventure that you don’t want to end. Their love story from start to finish was exhilarating and when faced with the challenges of Caleb’s work, everything comes crashing down. Can they make it through all the bad time as well as the good? Or is this the end of the line for this couple? The characters are so very well written and fleshed out that you will feel like you are actually right there going thru everything with them, wishing you were actually there just to know these two in reality. What an amazing and phenomenal read. I hope we get to read Caleb’s sister and Mason’s daughter Kelsea’s story. Her showing up in this book just has me praying she gets her own book. Another winning read from the author!!!!!
My Rating: 4.9 stars ***** “I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
This was another fantastic book by Laramie Briscoe! I was so happy to finally get Caleb's book. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Caleb chose to follow in Mason's footsteps rather than become a huge NFL star. That was awesome. I was also shocked that his leading lady was not Jessica!! Lol I was way off!!
So Cruise and Ruby meet at The Café when Cruise steps in on Ruby's date when he over hears their conversation.
When Ruby sees him walking her way.... oh this officer, whoever he is, doesn't walk like mere mortals, no. He struts. Every eye in the room is glued to him, and I'm impressed with the easy way he handles the attention.
As Cruise is dropping Ruby off and her insecurities begin seeping in... "I know this is crazy, but I had a good time with you tonight, even if it did start off kind of weird. Could I see you again? Maybe show you what a real man does to woo a woman?" - Caleb
No one will ever know how proud I am to carry on the tradition my dad started. When I'd been offered a contract in the draft to play pro ball, he'd argued with me for days about what I was giving up. The truth is, I've never wanted to do anything other than follow in his footsteps.
That's when I realize that after one date, one moment in a lifetime of moments with this woman, I'm completely and totally fucked. It's finally happened to me. -Caleb
Low on drama, heavy on the sweet, that's how I would describe this book.
I was sooo happy to get some more of Mason & Caleb banter! It makes my heart warm!
3.5 stars I'm not mad that I ended the series with this book but I would've liked to end on a higher note. I feel like my reviews of these books mostly go the same ways. The couple is nice together and I enjoyed seeing them. But there were still more errors than I'd like to be seeing by the sixth book of a series and it seems like in most of these books at least one character is undeveloped to an extent. We got to see Caleb a lot over this series and in this book he has a lot going on. Dealing with his abandonment issues and the struggles that come with his job. But who is ruby apart from him? She's a teacher and she comes from a nice farm owning church going family. She's a lovely person..but what's in her psyche. Like in the other books she's got some insecurities hinted at but never explored and that bugs me. Why even bring it up if you aren't going to tell us about it? Caleb's gentleman side made me all swoony but he also acted like a dick for a little while. I understood it and he did actively apologize and try to make up for it which isn't always a given in romances, but I can say for sure now that Renegade won this book boyfriend challenge. Though it wasn't insta love it could've used a little more development because they had this really intense connection but so much of the book's focus was on Caleb and his personal shit the book ended up lopsided. In closing, this was overall an enjoyable series though it bums me out to be giving pretty close to the same review over and over. Renegade is probably the only one I'd buy
I really loved how this series turned out. I had a few iffy moments towards the beginning of the series where I wasn't sure I would end up finishing the series, but every single time I ended a book I needed to know what happened to the other characters. Laramie saved the best for last, and since Caleb had already won me over in the earlier books Cruise just cemented his place in my heart.
I love his relationship with Ruby, but I almost love his relationship with his family more. His dad "grew up" with him and now they're best friends, his "mom" loved him unconditionally from the moment she entered the picture and the way his sister has him wrapped around her finger is adorable. Seeing the updates from all the other couples was just the cherry on top.
I love this group of guys and can't wait to read whatever she writes next.
I received an advance reader copy of this book that I have chosen to review.
I knew Caleb would grow up to be amazing... but holy crap, dude totally broke my heart and put it back together again!! I totally cried while reading this one because Cruise was very much like his father - strong but flawed, beautifully flawed.
I loved Ruby for him, she was strong and unwavering which is what Cruise needed his entire life.
LB gave me everything I could have possibly asked for in this one. It was really amazing to see Caleb grow up and love the way he did.
I was completely and totally invested in this book from the very first page and I'm soooo glad LB didn't let me down!
No judging, but I cried at the end of the book. So I signed up through a book PR group for the book Menace, and in that process I found out that Menace was the 5th book in the series, so I read the first 4 books in a week or better, to hear up for the 5th book. By the time I got to Menace, I was so enthralled with the series, I wanted more. So when I found out this book was coming out and it was the last one, I died a little inside. Now having read the final book, I am craving more. Caleb was raised right and to see him follow in his dad's footsteps was bittersweet. I feel in love with all of the MTF guys and I'm sure I will see them again..... Hopefully in Audible.
Cruise by Laramie Briscoe is book 6 in the Moonshine Task Force series. Cruise brings out all the feels. He is hot and compassionate and everything you could want in a man. Cruise helps a women who is on a date and the date turns bad and Cruise steps in and helps the women. Ruby is not expecting the hot guy that comes to her rescue. Cruise and Ruby’s story is one that keeps you hooked and not wanting to stop reading. Laramie knows how to add all the feels in a story and this one is no different. Thank you Laramie for another amazing story
Just when I thought I'd had my favorite book of this series picked in Havoc, along comes Cruise! This young man who we met in an earlier book is all grown up now. And WOW! is he hot!!!
The latest member of the Moonshine Task Force he's following in the footsteps of his real life hero, his dad. Trying to make his town a better place. Along comes Ruby a woman in need of a real gentleman one night when she's on the worst date of her life....I loved everything about these two and I am going to really miss this series. 5 stars all day, everyday!
I knew as soon as I read the last book in this series that I was going to crave Caleb’s story. He stole my heart in Menace. Seeing him grown up and finding love was a fun ride. Ruby was perfect for him and the whole Harrison family. I love that this author gives readers stories that keep you on the edge of your seat, but also keeps pace with what’s happening. No unnecessary drama. Just a straightforward romance that has drama, but that drama is pertinent to the story. I can’t wait to see what’s next. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Caleb is all grown up and man is he his father's child. He rescues Ruby from what could be a really bad situation and from then on the heat is on. Ruby knows she can handle his job and all that comes with it she's just gotta fully convince him. Like any other man he pushes her away when he needs her most. His dad always his hero is the one who gets through to him and he finally runs after Ruby!!! Y'all these two compliment each other on so many levels!!!
