Nora is a first year at Beverly Hills Preparatory Academy, attending thanks to one of the limited scholarships offered by the school. In a world where it seems like everyone's parents are millionaires, Nora can't help feeling shy and self-conscious of her status. But when she is invited to a dance with a neighboring boys' prep school, she meets someone special. When everything changes, Nora will have to decide for herself where she belongs. "If I fall" is book #1 from "Beverly Hills Prep", an EPIC Press series, a division of ABDO.

My name is Shannon Layne, and I'm the author of the "He Said, She Said" series and the "Beverly Hills Prep" series, both by ABDO Publishing.

I graduated from UC Davis in 2014, and I was born and raised in Humboldt County, CA. I am currently engaged to my wonderful fiancee, Emily, and together we have a dog, Blue, and a cat, Peter Pants.

Some of my favorite authors are Pat Conroy, the ever-fabulous JK Rowling, Tamora Pierce, Nora Roberts, and Neil Gaiman, to name a few. I love to write YA fiction and look forward to hearing from my readers and answering any questions they may have! I am definitely NOT the target audience but I picked it up for a quick read while I was working. I feel as if the story didn’t feel complete. You got a few story lines that just were jumbled together and then something completely random at the end where I feel like there was no lead up and honestly unnecessary. I also feel like after the Christmas situation we never hear anything back from James. His character just goes away we never hear what he thought or what happened with his mom. I’m just overall disappointed with the disorganization of this book and how it just was so incomplete. Maybe a middle school girl would like it if she hasn’t really read anything decent before but it just wasn’t the best book in my opinion.

I really liked this book it had a lot of detail and it drawed me in to it. It was so interesting and so adicting it was so interesting about how she was poor and now going to a different country. It was so good and I would love to read the other books like Beverly hills prep #2 that is how good it is. I normally don't read that much but the book If I fall really got me interested in reading it was a really good book. I would recommend this book to every one who asks what book should I read and I would say the Beverly hills prep series but start with If I Fall.

But, I am not the intended audience. I believe middle grade girls will enjoy this story.
