First book I read written by this author was The Writer, first book in San Juan Islands Mystery series. This book like the others were written, will make you smell the dirt or shiver in the snow storm. Made me think and question my beliefs also. Please take time and enjoy this book and all the others too.
Generally speaking, I am not a historical fan, however this book weaves the past and present so seamlessly and the plot is so well thought out, that I absolutely love it! Every D.W. book I have read has drawn me into the very end, regardless if its on a subject I thought I would like. The true test of an author I believe is engaging a reader so completely that even a weather report is exciting. Thank you so much, Mr. Ulsterman, I eagerly await your next creation!
This is a sweet, well written romance revealing past history and present day. Morning McGreevy discovers a hidden journal in her great-grandfather's attic. The story reveals his history and secrets, and as the story moves forward to modern life of Morning McGreevy. The story is full of mystery, romance, and sacrifice. One needs to read it to the very shocking ending. A very beautiful, well written story, I enjoyed reading.
This book was amazing to me, as I love family history. Morning finds an old journal, written by her great grandfather Cy. As she reads it, things seem to happen to her, and she just believes it is just coincidence. Morning has to follow her instinct to see where her grzndfather lived. Her adventures along the way are a must read. Loved this book. You will enjoy the story of the past, seeing the differences of two generations.
I started this book after finishing The Irish Cowboy. It took a minute longer to warm up to but it was not long before I was again engrossed. It is … the feeling I get when I visit my grandparents home, that he built himself, and find I am anchored. When I smell the roses I planted in Grandma’s memory… When I ride my pony and remember the great uncle who was a rough rider…
Savage, by D.W. Ulsterman, is a mystery and romance novel praised by readers for its imaginative storytelling and strong character development. It follows Morning McGreevy, a young college student who discovers her great-grandfather Cy's journal in the attic. As Morning reads, she feels a deep connection with her ancestor, whose joy and pain become her own, and a terrible family secret begins to unfold. The story explores themes of heritage and how the past can shape the future, leaving readers feeling intertwined with the characters' lives. Many reviewers have described it as a captivating and heartwarming journey of self-discovery.
A great read, almost as good as Irish Cowboy. A few spelling errors but that’s all. But, why did you introduce Waylon’s friend as a possible block between Morning and Waylon, as I read it, and then not follow up on it. ?? There was a lots of detail in the first half of the story and then it seemed to thin out. Maybe some of the story got cut but it did affect my reading. Highly recommend.
So you hate. Today's politics woven into what would have been a great series. Ouch. For me it was an overload of what you don't like. But the hardest to deal with is fish having necks. How do you break a fishes neck when they don't have one? On the positive side, I liked the belief in the unbelievable. Things that can't be explained. That was why I kept reading.
Anyone who knows me, knows of all the paranormal activity that some of my family have experienced. That made this extremely interesting to me. While I thoroughly enjoyed the story, some out there will not appreciate it as I did. Never have I felt threatened in these events either. In fact, there have been events, experienced by many in my family, where these were, indeed, warnings. That said, personally I really liked it. I’m onto #3!
Looking through the lens of a life fallen short, I found myself tight with tears & regrets while reading this story of a family, lives entertwined happy, sad, lost, gained , a legacy retrieved, a legacy given....wonderful story. Thank you Mr. Ulsterman! Please keep them coming.
A young teen girl finds a Journal written by her Grandfather that she has never met. She is looking for her purpose in life. The author does an Excellent job telling us a story of the past and how that story connects us to the present. I would Love to meet Cy McGreevy.
Wow! This was an amazing story. It is hard to describe the intensity and the unusual events happening. Savage was a settlement where the history of this family takes place. The past crashing into the present, through a grandmother, Candace, revealing a scroll written by her father Cy. This story will keep you engaged from start to finish, enjoy.
The more I read these books the more in love with them I am! Can't wait to read more🤗
These books pull you in and make you feel like you have always known these people and you're part of the story. So far I cannot find anything I dislike. I have already spread the word to my friends and family about what a wonderful read these books are.....thank you to the Authors.😉☺
Thus book like the first in the series was very well written although I have to admit I enjoyed this book even more than the first. If you want real life entertainment and at times shed a tear or two the I promise you this book definitely is a must read. Can wait to start the third book.
Savage is book two in the Montana Adventures chronicling the young adulthood of Morning McGreevy as she finds a journal written by her great-grandfather Cy which will have a profound impact on her life. I love the descriptions of Savage, Montana and the characters that populate this book. Morning is a character worth getting to know.
The connection between Morning and Cy McGreevy are interesting. The author takes you on a trip back in time when Morning reads the journal that her great grandfather, Cy, wrote. Morning has several encounters that she cannot fully explain. With help from her professor, she begins to understand better.
Ok I hooked. I’ve read 2 in this series and now I need to read everything he writes. Mr Ulsterman is a master of character development. The two books I read are so different but so similar. They are heartwarming, romantic, thrillers. I couldn’t put them down. Bravo Mr Ulsterman you now have an avid reader.
I always love D.W. Ulsterman's books. No exception to this one. I have to tell you there were several surprises for me the book. I took the weekend off and read it because I knew I wouldn't be able to put it down.
I read the Irish Cowboy first and love it so I had to read to read this one and I glad I did. I lived in Settel for 25 years and loved it and also like to read the authors from their. I loved both of this books very much. Thank you. Ada G t
I usually don't write a book review but this time I had too. It is too good for words. It consumes your emotions. You can not put it down. Just read it and you'll understand what I mean.
A strong mans honesty against a powerful narcissist, punishment for a friendly guilty of.
I loved this story. Mr. Ulsterman writes a wonderful story of honesty hard work against wealth and privilege. My second good read from this author second only to The Irish Cowboy.
I am Irish... so I couldn't put it down. A tale of life and full of love and lore. I know what the Irish history of love and land is. I too have followed my grandparents back to the land.
I loved Morning be the one to bring Cy, her Grand Dad Home. Waylon was a part of His true love and to be destiny in waiting was a great thing.. You can go Home.
Very good book! D.W. Ulsterman is an excellent writer. He is wonderful about his detail in every situation, I felt like I was right there with the characters and feeling their same emotions. I cried in this book!
Wow , crying and feeling so so full ! Loved loved this book ! The love the mystery the history and the suspense ! Great book ! I read the Irish cowboy first and I loved seeing the people from the “Irish cowboy “ show up in Savage ❤️
This is an exciting tale of the ties that bind a family together. Please read this book as it explains many things that people often dismiss as coincidence or question whether or not they actually happened.
I borrowed this touching love story across time and generation on kindle unlimited. I couldn’t put it down. This series just gets more and more addictive. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Savage.
