Eating healthy gets a whole lot easier with this delicious collection of 75 recipes—each one photographed—for nutritious and satisfying meals made quickly in your electric pressure cooker, all developed by a certified nutritionist and cookbook author for maximum health and flavor.
In The Fresh and Healthy Instant Pot Cookbook , Megan Gilmore presents recipes that use easy-to-find, whole-food ingredients for simple weeknight meals from morning to night—through the revolutionary cooking power of the Instant Pot, an electric, programmable multicooker. There are gluten-free options for each recipe, and all recipes are free of refined sugar and many of the most common food allergens, yet don't scrimp on flavor. With dishes like Korean Chicken Bowls, Eggplant Parmesan Bake, Peanut Butter Crunch Granola Bars, Flourless Banana Oat Bread, and One-Pot Chocolate Cake and Frosting, following a healthy diet while enjoying your favorite whole foods has never been more achievable. Every recipe is photographed in this highly visual and information-rich collection, and also includes nutritional information (calories, fat, carbs, fiber, and protein) and detailed timing for prep, coming to pressure, cook time, and release time.
Got this cookbook in ebook format from the library. It’s a good book for a newby using an Instantpot. I’ve cooked with an old-fashioned pressure cooker for most of my 60+ years of marriage and decided to get with the times. I learned a good deal about cooking procedure through this cookbook. I look for simpler recipes that don’t use unusual ingredients. I found several that I think I will try; so glad I got it from the library rather than buying it. For those who want the book on hand, this would be a good one to have.
Solid cookbook! I'm iffy on the whole "detox" concept so I wasn't interested in that aspect of this blogger's work, but I wanted to find more vegetarian recipes for the Instant Pot. (Normally I rely on the internet, but I was getting bored of bean soups, more bean soups and a bunch more bean soups with a random mac and cheese thrown in there). This fit the bill! Even the not-vegetarian recipes have the option to turn it into vegan/vegetarian. My main goal is that if I can get 5-6 recipes out of a cook book like this that are winners, I can consider an overall good purchase -- and we definitely hit that here. One of the better instant pot books I have in my arsenal for sure.
Lovely book with wonderful pictures accompanying the recipes. There's a nice range of healthy recipes for the Instant Pot, including a range of vegetarian ones. The beginning includes a pantry list, substitutions for common ingredients and a user's guide for anyone new to pressure cookers and Instant Pots.
Amazing! Have made a dozen of the recipes so far and couldn't fault a single one (favourite so far is the Carolina BBQ chicken). I have a Crock Pot Multi Cooker, not an Instant Pot, but the recipes still work perfectly.
The times are off. Curry salmon- raw. BBQ chicken with slaw- raw. ( I had to use the Poultry setting to cook the Salmon, not manual. In place of using the manual button for the BBQ chicken, I used the poultry button and let the Instant Pot vent slow. Lat I made the creamy Tuscan- now wiser and not using the manual button, I used Poultry and slow vent. and it was cooked though. Be careful with this cookbook. It's not accurate. Also, the pictures have been "enhanced" and really don't look like what you've cooked !!
I liked the format of this cookbook, color pictures for every recipe, each recipe on a single page, clearly labeled cook time, number of servings, etc. There was even a nice little "how to" and "troubleshooting" section at the beginning for pressure cooking newbies like me! Some of my favs were Creamy Tuscan Chicken with Mashed "Potatoes", (the potatoes are actually mashed cauliflower), Instant "Fried Rice", (again, the rice is actually cauliflower), and Asparagus & Leek Frittata. No cauliflower in this one!
Though early days, we have already cooked two dishes over the weekend. It is very helpful in explaining how to use the One Pot and considering we had only had it for a few days,it helped us learn the basics. Though it has quite a few recipes, they cover starters, sides, mains and deserts, as my focus is on main dishes I found the recipes limited. However I am happy with the book and really enjoyed our first attempts.
So far I have only made the broccoli cheddar soup but it was easy and it was good. next on my agenda is the hidden Cauliflower mac 'n cheese or the Cauliflower rice. the orange chicken and the Chicken Tikka Masala also look quite good. I haven't done any sweets in my pot, but a couple of those also look like likely contenders for me.
Lots of nutritious, quick and easy, recipes. Easy-to-find ingredients. Most recipes that call for meat or fish also has a vegan substitute. Good for the beginner as it explains the Instant Pot, the basic tools, and a helpful resource guide. The introduction is one of the reasons I bought this book (after borrowing from the library). Picture of each recipe are included.
This is the second cookbook that I have read on Kindle. The first was an Indian cookbook. I am disappointed in both, no color and pictures, no way to look at the index or table of contents easily. I pledge never to buy a Kindle cookbook again!
Having said that, there are some great recipes that I will have to try...if I can find them on the Kindle!
Clear, easy to follow recipes. I've enjoyed experimenting with Megan for years, beginning with the cauliflower pizza crust. Thank you for your insight and sharing your knowledge with us.
Love this cookbook which has a variety of very tasty and easy meals. Most recipes have alternative ingredients for making gluten free. All recipes suitable for other electrical pressure cookers- important in Australia as Instant Pot not available.
I really enjoy cooking her recipes because they’re easily made with staple ingredients that I always have handy and the flavours are all natural. I trust she won’t use unnecessary ingredients, only healthy ingredients in the list.
I got this as a birthday present and I have used so many of the recipes. Usually I search online but I’m happy I found this book. I haven’t been disappointed with any of the recipe. I would definitely buy her next book.
Super healthy meals made easy…really easy! Step-by-step instructions to make a wide variety of meals and desserts in your Instant Pot. Includes instructions to make many of them gluten free and vegan.
I really like this cookbook. Great recipes for learning to use your instant pot. Recipes include the amount of time required to come to pressure making it much easier to plan meals.
Bought the ebook version as I have so many cookery books. My instant pot is my most used cooking appliance so I'm always on the lookout for a new cookery idea. Plenty of choice in this book.
Despite my food allergies I found a few recipes useful. New ideas here. Photos of every recipe, good information on using the instant pot. Only complaint is I wish there were more meat and more recipes and I wish it specified it was mostly vegetarian. There are just too many "vegetarian" recipes, which is interesting because they use butter and eggs. There is a time chart including meats though. Overall I'm happy with the book.
