Joël is a good friend of mine. He's also one of the wisest individuals I know.
His explanation of the "Hurt Triangle," as well as his chapter on how these particulars play into anger, keeps turning over in my mind. I've found myself empathizing with others more since. It's also moved a flashlight toward my day-to-day habits. I can't wait to see Joël's future work on the topic.
A well written book that mixes sound research and Biblical principles and presents it in a package that is easy to read and absorb. The personal stories draw you in and add to the teaching. The visual diagrams, for me, are a great way to remember and put into practice the truths taught in this book. I can see the Hurt Triangle and Freedom Triangle now. For anyone looking to walk out their true identity, this is a great book to guide you in the journey. Reading it will just be the start of what awaits you.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audiobook. It’s a quick, easy read/listen. I liked how the author took concepts/ideas that aren’t necessarily new, but he put a new spin on them, breaking the concepts down into manageable steps or thought processes for the reader. My favorite chapter was the one dealing with anger, and the more “subtle” forms of anger that ALL people can experience and the scientific consequences (lower IQ, etc.) of angry responses. It was enlightening. Well done.
This book is very well written and for anyone who has read any of Joel Malm’s other books, it is a must read. After reading this book, it helped me to realize who I really am in the eyes of God and to not worry about others in this world and what they think.
A clear cut book with excellent examples for shedding the false you and becoming the real you. This book will give you much practical and spiritual help. Discover what holds you back.
My wife recommended this to me. We both fight against who we are made to be. I am big picture and extrovert while my wife is detailed and an introvert. Learning who God made us to be is refreshing and a chance at peace. Resting in what God says about us is so comforting.
