After Dark

Rate this book
In Night The Vampire Next Door Volume I, the fact that vampires truly exist was almost accidentally made public when a story presented as fiction seemed all too real to an amateur vampire hunter, who at the end, was made to remain silent about the secrets he discovered. But it doesn’t end the tale circulates as far as the west coast, where a small community of vampires have been quietly hiding; and to them, also, this story is too close to reality to be just a fantasy. But while they take the time to decide whether to attempt contact with their own kind so far away, they have their own local problems to deal with. A savage and barbaric serial killer, suspected of being a vampire, lurks in their own city, stalking the innocent at night. Will the vampires be able to stop the killer before they are blamed for his acts of extreme horror? And that’s not all. A beautiful yet tragic and suicidal young woman wanders like a lost angel from out of the darkness and into their midst, hoping a vampire will make her end swift and easy.

Rose Titus works two jobs to support her writing habit. She exists somewhere in cold, dreary New England, with two manipulative cats and a very out of date Macintosh with which she creates horror and fantasy fiction. She also has a restored classic car to ride around while in search of adventure.

For travel she has stayed for the night in an allegedly haunted castle, has taken a boat ride on Loch Ness, and has visited the fabled Bermuda Triangle without getting lost.

Her work has previously appeared in Lost Worlds, Lynx Eye, Bog Gob, Mausoleum, Midnight Times, Blood Moon Rising Magazine, The Bugle, Weird Terrain, Descend, Wicked Wheels, The Dead River Review, and other literary magazines. Her novella Night Home, and her two novels After Dark and All the Way to the Moon, have been published with Hypothesis Press and are available with Amazon. She also has published a collection of short stories, Key 13.

When she’s not writing or working or messing around with her old Buick, she waits by her mailbox for the next issue of Fortean Times to arrive.

This book was a bit longer than the last and will also be the longest of the trilogy.

Once again I was annoyed with the lack of separation between different conversations and situations. Only sometimes the only reason I knew who was talking was because one of the characters was put to be saying something or doing an action.

The book could have done with out all the “yah” as well. No way everyone pronounces it like that *insert annoyed emoji* but I think I’m just being nitpicky with this part haha.

This story is a lot slower but there is a lot more action and backstory on how the vampires came to be which I thought was so much fun to read. I enjoyed this slow book and can’t wait to find out how the author chose to end the trilogy.

I read Author Rose Titus 1st book called "Night Home" and really enjoyed it, so I of course had to read the second one. I was curious to find out what happened next. I was surprised that it was about a different town of vampires. Characters mentioned first book. I really enjoyed this story. It had more mystery in it with surprising twists and turns.
A serial killer on the loose killing homeless people and no one able to figure out who. A young lady who wants to end her life accidentally befriends a vampire & getting help from a vampire?
I definitely recommend this book! I am looking forward to reading future books by this talented writer.
