Take the money and disappear like always.

Silly, generic story about a guy who wants to rescue a woman from the clutches of her mafia husband who has been beating her. Roan and Vivianna. No substance just sex and ott purple prose. No thanks.

I loved this! The H is awesome! He's a dirty talking, j/p bad-boy and a killer. The story is told in first person exclusively from the H's POV. I loved being in his head! It was refreshingly different.

Please note there are triggers here and this book isn't for everyone.

192 by Nikki Belaire is the story of Viviana and Roan.
Viviana is married into an abusive mafia husband who continues to beat her and take her money. But now Roan has been assigned to her and he has developed feelings for her but unable to show them due to the dangers of it. The one time he hurried to see about her after one of these beating he was taken off her watch duty. Viviana seems to know nothing else but isolation and hardships but Roan has been a blessing to her. Roan goal is to get her out of this bad situation but has to wait for the perfect time.
This story is a dark one that may have trigger issues for some. My heart went out to Viviana and the hard life she had.

This was my first book by this author and it’s one I’ve had on my Kindle for a very long time. Why I didn’t immediately read it, I’m not sure but now I’m kicking myself for having denied all the gratification I received from this checks-all-my-boxes stories.

This definitely deals with dark subject matter – domestic violence as well as violence in general as the plot plays out. The hero, Ronan, is a complete over the top alpha who is consumed by the boss’ wife. While I hated what she went through, I absolutely adored his dedication to helping her in every way possible. When he inadvertently hurt her, he wanted to throttle himself. He just couldn’t stand anything harming her physically or emotionally.

Viviana, was broken but her sweet innocence in the face of all she had experienced was so endearing. As was her transformation into a woman who wanted normal. I would have liked to have seen a tad bit more of her once she reached that point and was hoping to do so in the epilogue but I was still pleased with the ending.

This is a fast paced read that keep me involved the entire time and I never once stopped reading once I began. The secondary characters do not play a heavy role as most of this is just the hero and heroine. There are plenty of times the reader is aware of the jealous/possessive/protective side of the hero which is what I absolutely love. The steam was high even if their relationship was slow to evolve to that place. The fact that this is written entirely in the hero’s point of view allowed me to feel his every desire for the heroine which elevated the heat exponentially.

I highly recommend this to anyone who likes their heroes OTT, doesn’t mind the triggers, and can enjoy a sweet docile heroine who is badly broken.

192 by Nikki Belaire is the story of Viviana and Roan. Nikki Belaire has written an amazing and emotionally gripping story which is told in the Hero’s POV. The raw emotions of Roan and Viviana just pour off the pages- you literally can feel everything they feel. This is a mafia love story and what a story it is. It is gripping, intense, dangerous, dark , passionate, humor, steamy, full of action, violence, hopelessness/hope, and kindness.
The story is about Viviana, a mafia princess who is married a very controlling man who just married her for her money. He was horrible to her, was very abusive, kept her sheltered and basically made her a life a nightmare. Into Viviana’s life comes Roan. He treated her right, gave her happy that she didn’t have and was missing, Roman did things for her that her own husband refused to do. He treated her right, gave her the respect she didn’t even get from her husband and Roan fell deep in love with Viviana. Roan devised a plan to get Viviana away from her situation , away from the abuse and was determined to break down her walls to show her she was worthy of love.
This was such an emotionally gripping love story, one that takes you on an emotional roller coaster, there are highs and lows- so many times where I was literally on the edge of my seat. Ms. Belaire wrote this fantastic romance where you are rooting for the hero to win the heroine. The sparks between Roan and Viviana were electrifying and intense. Oh and it fits into the dark romance category because of the tone of the story and the actions by some in the story. I love dark romance and the journey that Roan and Viviana took was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed 192 – the title is unique and catchy . the mafia theme is just perfect. This is a powerful read and I recommend that you get this book and read !

It started out so strong. There’s an intriguing backstory and a super possessive bad-boy hero with a heart of gold (at least for the heroine) and that’s always promising. The hero, Roan, is the heroine’s bodyguard and he desperately wants to save her from her abusive husband Arturo. But after the first 20%, it slows down to the speed of a glacier. There’s no more exciting near-death scenes or “oh no what’s going to happen” moments. It becomes all about convincing the heroine, Viviana, that she has been mistreated and subsequently, the hero spoils her and treats her with kid gloves.

The story is only told from Roan’s POV, and I think that made it harder for me to connect with Viviana because I could not stand her. She’s beyond frustrating with her kicked-puppy behavior, but because of her history, it’s realistic and I do get it. Viviana is fragile. She’s robotic. She’s so submissive and terrified of having her own opinions/thoughts that I never understood what Roan saw in her. And then it hit me: he has a savior complex. He literally rescues kidnapping victims for a living so of course he gets a high from rescuing and taking care of Viviana. But she’s isn’t a rescue animal; she’s his love interest and that doesn’t work for me. Still, if you prefer stronger heroines, avoid this book like the plague.

I really liked Roan. He’s chivalrous and protective and sexy and just a whole bunch of goodness wrapped in one package. He’s the best part of the story, but as much as I liked him, he constantly uses derogatory female terms as internal insults anytime he has feelings.

“Okay, now that I’m done fantasizing like a bitch ass pussy[…]”

“Despite my pussy ass giddiness[…]”

“Please god I almost fucking cry like a pansy ass[…]”

“I roll my eyes at myself for behaving like a pussy ass girl[…]”

“But I’m a pussy ass bitch, and I want to get home.”

And on and on it went. Every once in a while is fine, but I have a pet peeve for repetitiveness, not to mention the author is contributing to the association of femininity and negativity that really needs to die.

The climax is less than thrilling and a lot less eventful than I anticipated. Sure, they’re on the run/hiding for about 75% of the book, but once the villain shows he’s there for all of one scene and doesn’t even really speak. It’s like watching someone scoop your ice cream with the speed of a sloth, and once they pass it to you, you manage to get one good lick in before it all falls off the cone and SPLAT!

192: A dark Mafia Bodyguard Romance – Nicki Belaire

A story about struggle, strength and healing, reminding us that love can be found even in the darkest of places.

Viviana, a mafia princess has been trapped in a marriage of convenience to both her abusive husband and her late father. Her life is not her own, she has been kept from the outside world and is constantly watched by her husband’s security team.

Roan, a mafia bodyguard to Viviana's husband is trusted with the protection of her and when he witnesses for himself the violent abuse she is constantly subjected to he can’t help but step in and rescue her.

I really enjoyed the bones of this story however there are a lot of phrases that were continually repeated way too much throughout the book along with a lot of grammar and punctuation mistakes, which at times were distracting. I felt there was not enough push and pull, their love evolved too quickly taking away that slow burn that makes the book all the more enticing.

The narration was in the Male Character Roan’s POV and I think the story would have worked better if it was in dual POV. There was not enough inner monologue to have you feeling the connection to characters.
Whilst I enjoyed reading Viviana and Roan's story, it just wasn’t emotionally gripping enough for me. I wanted more!

WARNING: This book contains Domestic Violence that may be a trigger for some.

This was an ok read for me. Maybe it was an "It's me and not you" type of mood I am in BUT the fact that she was married to this repulsive man was a true-off for me..... I don't know, I had such a hard time to get into it and essentially skimmed the last half of the book:(

I've mentioned it in my previous review by Nikki Belaire when it comes to her Mafia romance genre novels - she really is great at creating a story that is both mysterious and breathtaking. There's something that unexpected in her books that simply draw you in and that's what happens each time that i pick up one of her books.

192 was entirely unexpected. I was thinking i'd be reading a book about saving someone for love, but in a way, it wasn't. It's dark and it's engaging to the point where i can't begin to understand or comprehend just how or why an individual would put themselves through all the pain and abuse that Viviana goes through at the hands of her husband. Mind you, the last book i had read by this author was about a second chance romance of a mafia king that was also a softie when it came to his girl.

So this book was nothing like i could have expected. There was so much hope in Viviana that it surprised me. So much hate from Roman that it make me catch my breath. But most of all, it was full of action and mystery that i was glad it was simply a piece of fiction because i was going in with a gun and steel toed boots and would have kicked some idiot's butt for being such a low life.

Nikki Belaire is definitely an author that you have to look out for because if you underestimate her, she will surprise you and even if you don't, you will have some pretty strong reactions and emotions when it comes to her characters. And that's a trait that you really want from an author.

My heart went out to Viviana and the nasty predicament that she's been living with for so long. But she has a savior by the name of Roman Roane watching over her. This book was absolutely fantastic! I knew it was going to be good but it blew me away. I love a story that can bring several emotions to the surface and this one does that perfectly. It was beautiful to see Roman coax Viviana out of her shell that she's been living in. He was definitely a hero in my eyes, so patient and loved her strong and hard. Even after all she's been through, she has a beautiful innocence about her. I couldn't put this book down. I say you definitely want to one click this one!!

Nikki Belaire has blown me away with 192. I'm still trying to process. This book hits you right in the feels.
The raw emotions of Roan and Viviana you can just feel coming off the pages.
Normally I do not care for 1st person POV. But this, this is in Roan's POV. Maybe it's just the way the author writes and her writing style but I loved it.
This book is very well written. The characters are very relatable.

****Please heed the warning label. If you are sensitive to subjects such as domestic violence, don't read this book. It's not for you.

This has got to be one of my favorite books by Nikki Belaires. I was so impressed with her writing and the story she told that I had a difficult time putting it down. It is a fantastic love story about a mafia princess married to a very controlling man who just wanted her money. He was very abusive towards her, kept her sheltered, and her life was so empty I am surprised she survived. Along comes Roman who gave her some happiness, he took her to Church, her only outing. He treated her with respect, and like a lady, and he fell in love with her. Roman decided he was going to save her from this life of abuse and he did, and he had to break down those walls that were built up from her marriage so she could believe she worth something and she was beautiful and meant to be loved by someone. There was so much she needed to learn and Roman was there to teach her, and give her all the guidance and patience she deserved. I absolutely loved this book. I would highly recommend it to the readers, I received it for my honest review, and would gladly read it again. It was one of the best books I have read in awhile. Excellent job, at least 5 Stars or more.

5 stars all the way....

Ok here it goes... I love the way this author writes; she is so gifted at creating wonderfully imagined and brutal worlds with strong and believable characters.... I am hooked on the mafia trope in general, but I was completely addicted to this dark mafia romance in particular...... nothing about this suspenseful tale is predictable; it is full of action and pace, violence and kindness, and a bittersweet ‘innocent’ love story..

The characters are relatable and multifaceted; Roan tells the story from his point of view and I love that such a tough trained killer is so devoted to the brutalized and gentle Viviana....they seem to be made for each other; he is the ‘gallant knight’ who wants to rescue his ‘damsel in distress’, but fairy stories and reality are rarely the same.....and in their reality Viviana is married to a despicable and extremely powerful despot, and Roan is her faithful, protective bodyguard..A future for them together, in their world, seems an impossibility...

This is a riveting and, at times, challenging story, but there is also humor and sweetness.... There is a constant spark between the two main characters that made me want to keep reading and keep delving into the darkness, hoping that when the final page turned all would be right with the world, no matter the journey that the protagonists had taken to get there..this is an unputdownable 5 star read..... I received an advanced copy of this book from the author.

192: A Dark Mafia Bodyguard Romance is a riveting tale that is told in first person pov by the male hero of the narrative.
Viviana Moretti and Roan (Roman Roane) character's are well seasoned, compelling, cogent, passionate, and witty. Supporting character's accentuate the tale. A savvy dark mafia read that is a highly addictive, unpredictable suspenseful tale brimming with vivacity, violence, a bit of humour, sweetness and a tangerine love story. A well crafted dark mafia romance that is sweet and sexy with a captivating plot that takes you on a journey of two beautiful lost souls that find there way two each other. A splendid writing style that fits the genre perfectly.

This is my first time reading something by this author. I will for sure be reading more of her books. This was a good mafia style book. Viviana is the mafia princess. Who is in a very abusive relationship with a controlling husband. That is until Roman comes into the picture. He wants to help therefore he must break down her walls. To show her a more happier life. Can he save her from her husband.

First, now I know what 192 is!

I fell in love with both of these characters. My heart broke multiple times for one of them. I don't want to say much because you need to let the whole story unfold and experience the highs and lows along with the two of them. You will have awwww moments, moments of rage and moments that might bring you to tears. This story had me captivated from the first to the last page.

"His mission was to save his angel’s soul"

I received an Advance Reader Copy for 192:A Dark Mafia Bodyguard Romance written by Nikki Belaire and voluntarily reviewed this book. This will not be an easy story for some due to it’s triggers of domestic violence.

Viviana has been married to notorious crime boss Auturo Moretti for three years and every minute of every day, it was torture and hell, except for the two hours of reprieve spent out of her prison of a home in church, where she has a chance to breathe and be herself in prayer and confession. Roan, assigned as her bodyguard, watched while she was cruelly mistreated by Arturo, unaided by all around her, even himself.

Her sweetness, pureness, fragility, and dignity to Roan was like an angel, “You’re like the one ninety-two angel. So f*@#ing powerful and gorgeous, I can’t take you straight.” It was her pure heart and lightness which had never changed, despite her husband’s anger, impatience and frustration which he had ruthlessly rained down upon her, until her mind was governed by little more than constant fear. Little did she know that had a purpose to keep guard on her, as her silent protector.

Finding her true self outside of marriage was ultimately a very difficult concept for her to accept, or that tomorrow is her future and the past is behind her. An even more difficult task was for her to trust in her own feelings and thoughts, to have courage in a whole new world as her own person, but with Roan’s faithful and patient guidance and love, she was able to be freed from a lifetime of brainwashed servitude and infinite loneliness. A difficult and lovely story of an angel’s journey to find her right calling, at last.

Can anyone be too damaged? Can the fears and the pains from the past ever be truly be overcome? Can one simple act of bravery destroy it all?

Nikki Belaire has once again enthralled me with her writing. Bringing me into the story and not letting me go.

From the very beginning you love Viviana. You feel for her and fear for her. You only want to help her. Being the wife of Arturo Moretti, a mob boss, has left her shunned and sheltered while he keeps her secluded from life while beating her mercilessly whenever he chooses.

Roan (Roman) felt this same exact way the moment he met her. One of the bodyguards bought to protect two equally evil men running an illegal empire and not caring how cruelly they treat the supposed queen of their world. Roan is disgusted by both Arturo and and his brother, Dante Moretti, but refuses leaving Viviana until after he fulfills his promise. One he made many years ago.

Used and abused, this is the only life she’s ever known. Having lost all of her family at a young age after her father made the deal to give her to this evil man to repay money he owed. Viviana never knew about the debt or that her father hired Roan to get her away from Arturo once he realized how bad this mistake was. She’s awkward, scared and has no idea how to handle life away from her abusers. Now knowing Roan is actually Roman, she’s slowly coming to realize her life was not normal and that violence isn’t just a fact of life.

Roman’s never ending patience and love for her keeps this fragile transition from breaking his broken angel and helps her start to heal. Their relationship is beautiful in it’s own way and I loved how his love pulled them through so many obstacles Viviana must overcome.

Loved this book and I cannot wait to see what is next.

Vivian father made a deal that promised her to a crime Lord. When her father dies unexpectedly she starts being groomed to be the perfect wife. Unfortunately married life isn't what Vivian expected. Her husband is abusive and she is miserable. The only light in her life is going to mass and seeing Roman. She is essentially held prisoner in her home. Only leaving for mass and to accompany her husband to functions.

Roman works with a group that rescues people. When Vivian' s father realizes his mistake he hires Roman to help rescue her. Unfortunately he passes away before they could put the plan into motion. Even after her father's death Roman still follows through and sets out to save Vivian. Roman falls for Vivian and spends years trying to infiltrate her husband's organization to get close to her. After one particular beating Roman knows she cannot spend one more night in that house.

This is my first book by the author and I loved every minute of it. It sucked me in immediately and kept me glued to every word. The storyline between Roman and Vivian was emotional and special. There were times I laughed, felt emotional and even wanted to cry. Especially seeing Vivian struggle with what she endured.

This book is a must read. You will not want to put it down.

So I had a certain mindset going into this book and it took it and screwed it over. You see I read a lot of these books and expected things a certain way. This one doesn't do this. It shows the side of the mafia world that doesn't get mentioned, it hidden and covered up. You see Viviana was kept in hell. She never got to experience all the things she should have. Some so simple, she knew nothing about until she got away and met Roman. She was beaten and starved for most of her life. She lived with not one but two monsters.. One didn't get to inflict his pain on her though. My heart really broke for her. You can tell she's a vibrant and beautiful woman but had been beaten down so much, she doesn't believe it anymore. I will give Roman credit. He took baby steps and was incredibly patient with her. He let her make her own decisions and trusted she'd be fine. This book has some dark parts but a beautiful love story that comes out of it. You see a woman blossom and find her strength again.
I had one issue with this book though.. I found it really odd that the mafia boss didn't hunt her down more and it took a trip home for her to caught.. This was seriously a dumb moment for Viv. I just thought there should have been more action on finding her.. This was a good book regardless of that point.

Wow absolutely fabulous, I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. Vivana has been abused and kept almost like a prisoner by her mafia husband. Roman is mercenary who rescues people and he wants to rescue her. Right from the start your heart breaks for Vivana and what she has gone through. Roman has been hired as her bodyguard and sees a vulnerable women, broken and scared, but when he does rescue her the true extent of the abuse she has suffered hits him hard. It's not only the physical abuse, but the mental abuse which covers a vast spectrum of her asking permission to just go to the bathroom, not leaving her bedroom until she is told she can and her complete lack of understanding anything in the "normal" world, even simple things like a supermarket trip or watching a film which hits Roman hardest. Roman has fallen in love with her, but can she overcome everything she has been through and love him back? Roman knows, he is going to have to handle her very carefully and gently to earn her trust and love. This book will make you cry with disgust at what Vivana has been forced to endure and move you tears at the love and tenderness that an otherwise hard mercenary shows her.

Roan made a promise to protect Viviana and to get her away from the abusive crime boss she is married to. He never expected to fall in love with her. Get in, get the tag, get out, but this time Roan didn’t get out with his heart. The quiet and skittish Viviana has stolen it whether she knows it or not. Roan has a plan, if that plan fails he’s got a back up plan, no matter the cost he will get the girl. She’s no longer a job, she is his. No longer will he have to take her broken and bruised body to mass every day, he’s determined to show her that she deserves to be treated like the princess that she is.

Nikki Belaire writes an extremely graphic story of abuse both physically and mentally in 192. Belaire tells the story that we have all heard about, but most have never experienced. Unfortunately, abuse is all too real and Belaire does something in this story that I have not seen in other books, she writes about the catastrophic effects the victim and the family must go through once the abuse stops. 192 is an eye opener and pulls the reader into a horrific world that nobody likes to talk about. Gut-wrenching and heart breaking don’t begin to describe the things I felt while reading this story.

I love this author and her Mafia reads so it was only natural I purchased this book. Now first I have to say her male characters love hard and take good care of their women. Where they are tough as nails and will kill anyone who gets close to their women they are pansies when it comes to their women's tears, anger, fear or anything in between. Keeping their women happy and safe is their goal. Having said that, Roan or which ever name you want to call him by is the biggest pansy yet!!! I mean he really is. But he does love her and wants her safe and has to deprogram her but I am telling you Max would hate the pansy a$$ rep he is giving to Mafia body guards around the world.

OK It is another amazing read and I really want to check out the 192 drink that Mia had Viviana try. Viviana is a trooper and it's painful watching her recovery yet you can't help celebrating with each step she takes. It's slow and tedious and sometimes one step forward ends up as 10 back. It's a tortuous dance that can't be rushed and she has a pansy a$$ to keep her safe and loved.
