For the first time in a long time, life is good. I've got a smokin' hot motorcycle man as my fiancé, the best friends a woman could have, a couple of great kids, and things have been relatively quiet on the PI front.
You know what that means... the other shoe was bound to drop sooner or later...
Just when I was ready to settle down and plan the coolest wedding Greenswood has ever seen, the shit hit the fan, and hit it hard.
My friends are fighting, Cade's been out of town doing God knows what for the club, and my sweet little twins are turning into hair-pulling pre-teens with more drama than my old daytime soaps.
I feel like I'm being pulled in a million directions, and I've been going so crazy that Elin's swear jar is near to overflowing. I've been eating cupcakes like a woman possessed, and if I'm not careful, there's going to be a Cupcake Explosion... in my pants.

This series has become my "sugar crack" I love it as much as Delilah loves her cupcakes!
This one picks right up from the previous one. Our couple are home after their Hawaiian vacation and engaged, life is falling into a wonderful routine . . . and then the other shoe drops!
There are laughs, cries, new relationships, old friends.... and of course cupcakes! This is written in such a way that I felt I was right there with them (okay maybe sitting at a table looking over, but still!) The banter and friendship between this group is so fun to read. Delilah does manage to get into a sticky situation, but will she get out of it before her wedding? Will Cade make it home from his club job in time? Will a pig be found?
Come along and join Delilah and friends as she manages to go from one situation to another leading up to hopefully a wonderful wedding day
This is the fourth book in the series and continues the adventures of Delilah . A single mother, turned PI turned lover of hot motorcycle loving men. You can read these out of order if you want but the whole series is a delightful romp so I say go for it and read them all!
This book takes place in the weeks up to the wedding of Cade and Lila. Delilah is stressed and Cade has to go out of town on 'club business". Delilah and her friends get up to their usual mischief as she tries to solve the latest mystery.
The whole series is full of wit and a bit of who-done-it. The children add in additional stress but also some comic relief. Cade and Lila together are smoking hot as always. Small town romance at it's finest. Loved the last few chapters the most! I look forward to the next cupcake addition!
This was a cute story from one of my favorite series. I loved the cast of characters and the friendships that they have with each other. The book picks up right where we left off and Lila and Cade are planning their wedding. I’ve been looking forward to them getting married and I would have liked to have had more Cade in this story. Lila while left alone to her own devices she gets herself in a situation. The scene with the chocolate cake was hilarious! I enjoyed the last few chapters of this book the most. I do hope we get a novella in the future. I’m not ready for this series to be over! Who doesn’t love a book with good friends, hot men and cupcakes?
I don't want to see the series ending, so I hope the author plans to add more books to the series. It doesn't have to be from Delilah's point of view. I just want more books with this gank. I have grown to love them and this book felt like an ending which is unfair. The story was funny. I laughed at some parts and in others, I was just happy. The book was good and I loved it, so I am going to give it a nomination for my top books of 2018. Cade is not a part of it for some time which is a bad thing, but he made up for it later. What I loved the most about the book was Delilah. She showed her love for her children, the man she was going to marry and she fixed the situation with Carmen's romantic life. What more could I ask for? There wasn't a bad thing about this book and even if there is, I don't care. You must read the series, not just this book.
***Received an Advanced Readers Copy for a Blog Tour in exchange for an honest review***
I have heard so much about Bethany Lopez writing style but I have not gotten around to reading her stuff but when I saw the Cupcake Explosion came across my email I was filled with joy, ready to jump all in for this book tour! So what did I do? Oh I bought CUPCAKE Series books 1, 2, and 3 before I received this ARC. Why? Well duh, it is a series that needs to be read in order. But I am also really happy I did because what I found was that I really enjoy Lopez's writing style. There is swoon worthy moments, chuckling laughs, it was definitely a fun adventure.
So if you haven't read any of the prior CUPCAKE books, this may be a slight spoiler in sorts, but not really full on spoilage.
I have LOVED Cade and Lila's journey up to this point. They have this really great romance, their connection that I just really enjoyed getting to know. Leading up to Cupcake Explosion, they are getting ready for that day we have ALL been waiting for - WEDDING DAY! I was ready. I need Cade and Lila to be happy.
Cade is this yummy biker man that I just cannot get enough. He is this supportive, protective piece of man meat I want to wrap my fingers around. Kate on the other hand is this strong force that I just adore in a female lead, I have loved it since the beginning. She is definitely this diehard chick who goes for her goals.
Not only do I love the main characters, but I love the laughs they brought to the table. It is honestly what I have become accustom to when reading this series. There were moments I was laughing I was doubled over my side holding it. It was great. The only issue I have is that I just expected and needed more. I can't totally reveal where I am going with this because it would be a flat our spoiler, but it isn't bad, just wanted more of something I was missing.
Definitely enjoyed it overall. There were laughs, the romance is still as fierce as it was in the beginning. I loved it. I really hope there might be more, or possibly a spin-off in the future. I definitely enjoyed Lopez's writing style and cannot wait to add more of her in the future to my TBR.
I read the previous books almost 2 years ago but I liked them enough that I remembered what occurred so I wasn't lost in this one.
Book 4 of the series continues with Delilah's antics as she closes a couple cases,"rescues" her fiance, tries her hand St matchmaking and plans her wedding. The gang's all present and Cade's family add their own brand of Sweetness and crazy into the mix. I enjoyed it and hope that this author gives us more in this series preferably with a bit more Cade and maybe focusing on some of the secondary characters a bit more or even Cade's sister I don't care I just want more 😂
*Cade's escape from those chains may have made my year!
I love Lilah and her world. This time her man is away but she has a few cases that keep her busy along with her upcoming wedding. It was a great read and I love the banter between Lilah and Cade.
There is a reason I keep coming back to this series and Bethany's writing...within the pages you will laugh, you will swoon, you will be taken for a ride, a journey...an adventure. The Cupcakes series has definitely been a fun ride. Love, cupcakes, bad guys and heroines and heroes saving the day....what more can a reader ask for.
In the latest Cupcakes book, Lila and Cade are approaching that special day we've all been waiting for. Planning a wedding amongst fighting teens, fighting friends, a missing... and work, Private Investigator, Lila, is having to keep on her toes. When things get tense, you can bet you'll find Lila in the thick of it. A smart, strong, beautiful woman, Lila is a fighter. If you are lucky to be counted as one of her loved ones, she's going to fight that much harder for you.
I wish there had been a little bit more of everything towards the end. I don't want to say what and give anything away but I was just expecting more. However, over all I enjoyed Cupcake Explosion as I've enjoyed the entire series. These books always capture my heart. I love the characters, I love the relationships between them all, I love the laughs and love the love. Sweet, sexy, funny, and full of heart, this series is one of my favorites.
I really hope there is a book 5 or spinoffs for anyone of the other wonderful cast of characters in this series. I'm not ready for the ride to end.
I binged the first three books of the Cupcakes series in two days last year. I have been obsessed with Cade and Lila ever since. These books really shouldn't be read as a standalone as each builds on the one before it.
The fourth book picks up with Lila and Cade home from their Hawaiian vacation and planning their wedding. When Cade has to go off the grid for the Club, Lila is left to planning and crazy antics with no one to rein her in. Lila can get into the craziest trouble and she always has me laughing from the first page to the last.
This book is funny, action-packed, a bit suspenseful, and has all the swoony romance Cade brings along. I LOVE this series and can't wait to see what craziness this crew comes up with next.
*This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*
There are NO WORDS for how much I adore this entire series!! I was lucky enough to get Cupcake Explosion, but when I started to read it I realized there was a lot I was missing, so I went on a search for any other books. I was on a deadline to get this one finished, but I knew I had to read the others to get the full story. WOW!! I devoured the other three books in less than two days. I am hooked now! I need everything Bethany Lopez has every written. This is so much more than a FIVE STAR READ!!
The characters are amazing and the story is very well written - but I have to say that what I loved most about this series is that the love story is secondary. Lila's misadventures, her children, and her friendships are what stand out most to me in this series and I LOVE THAT!! Five Stars will never be enough!
This is book 4 in the series and it does not disappoint. I cracked up at the very beginning with the I may just have a cupcake explosion in my pants. This one was a little more serious in my opinion with Cade off the grid for most of the book, and we get to see Lila in action as a PI. I love seeing her working with her friends.
This book has a little bit of everything. You may shed some tears, you may laugh out loud, and you make want to punch people throughout this well thought out book. It is all in Lila's POV which of course works well and I can't help but love her character so much. And her being a mom and seeing the struggle that can come with that makes her seem so much more realistic. LOVE IT!!
Lila has one idea and Cade, he has ideas of his own, “I think you should take off all your clothes, go into the bathroom, turn on the shower, and bend over the counter.” Lila can see through her man's crap, “don’t tell me not to get worked up, that gets me worked up,” I complained. Cade shot me a sexy grin, but I wasn’t falling for it. “Just say it,” I told him..." When Lila is fire up, it amuses Cade to no end, "...you ain’t getting none of this.” I waved my hand over my body and wiggled in my seat. Cade chuckled. The bastard. “I’m not kidding,” I told him." I loved this book, I fell in love with Cade.
🖋️ SNEAK PEEK ⭐⭐⭐💫 3.5 STARS REVIEW 🖋️ Delilah "Lila" & Cade's relationship continues to woo me. The constant butting of heads when they are working, the banter, and the overflowing of emotions from different directions is priceless. Gotta love Cade's family. Plus I cannot help that I picture Jason Momoa. Hee hee.
Of course with any couple they are faced with some drama and challenges and in their case trust is always being tested especially when one has to go off the grid. There was a slight point in the read where I was missing something; however, once everything played out it left me with some deeper questions I could not help but wonder.
Cupcake Explosion has given me a new addiction when it comes to sweets! Ha Delilah and Cade are my ideal couple. I was laughing and getting over heated with this one all at the same time. Cade sure knows how to talk to a woman behind closed doors. All I can say is Lila is a lucky gal! So yes ladies, all the sexy time in this book is HOT!
The drama and stress that goes on with a wedding, well Bethany hit all spots. When things need to go smooth sailing, they are chaotic. I did not know what to expect when I opened this book, but wow! What a great read for the weekend. I could not get enough of all the characters in this story!
Loads of fun and action in this story leading up to the wedding of these two love birds. But of course when things happen and they always do, she finds herself in trouble again. I love these sweet romances from this author. They are just enough story, characters and laughs. I haven't read all of the books in the series but the two I have read have been funny and good.
Love this author's style and the characters she gave us this go around are perfect in every way!!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I love the cupcake series by Bethany Lopez. I love sweets and add hot men and chemistry makes it even sweeter. If you haven't read this series yet you must purchase and read. You will not be disappointed.
This is number 4 and a good way to read about "what will happen now that..." It was funny, and got me hooked back again to the character that I met before. No spoilers. Another good book from this author.
Cade & Lila what can I say they are as yummy together as the cupcakes that Lila is addicted to! LOL This is a nice addition to the series! You get a little more of Cade's family and of course more of Lila's group of friends How could you not love it!
The series is an easy read and gave me something to do when I couldn’t sleep. Once you get past the romance parts, it’s a good series about friendship, family, and finding love after deceit. Oh, and don’t forget the cupcakes! There’s always room for dessert.
Lila, the Queen of All Things Cupcakes, is back and how I missed her! After her fun and suspenseful Hawaiian vacation with her twins and boyfriend, Cade, our favorite private eye has returned home. Cupcake Explosion begins with Lila getting back to her everyday life, except she will soon be marrying her sexy man. Of course, in true Lila style, her trip down the aisle has to have some type of humor and drama...everything fans love about this series.
Her love life is going great, but how about the rest of her life? Her twins are acting like the preteens they are, which means arguing and mood swings. Even her best friends begin bickering and Lila needs to figure out the underlying reason why. What's a girl to do? Grab a cupcake!
I really do enjoy this series. I know when I sit down to read that I will laugh out loud, giggle, and swoon when a certain male enters a scene. Lila is happy and I'm thrilled for her. But her journey always has some bumps and Cupcake Explosion ratchets up those 'bumps' into a rather large boom. Lila should be taking it easy as her wedding date approaches until Cade informs her that he'll be leaving town on motorcycle club business.
Knowing Lila, we can assume she won't take his advice and deal with her nuptials. Just before they say "I do," Lila somehow gets involved in messy, shady business as the tension mounts. This series is quick-paced and I wouldn't have it any other way. I really love the addition of Cade's family and enjoy the scenes between them and Lila. Lopez imbues their scenes with such warmth, their moments always tug the heartstrings. And Cade--like any great cupcake--is a yummy treat! I actually missed him when he went away.
Lila's friends are always entertaining, and I'm glad to see another 'couple' happen in book number four. There's mystery, action, laughs, romance, and a sweet wedding in this installment. Unfortunately, I had no cupcakes to enjoy while I devoured Lila's latest book in one sitting. I can only wonder what's next in book five of author Bethany Lopez' addictive Cupcakes series.
Cupcake Explosion by the outstanding author Bethany Lopez is the fourth book in her Cupcakes Series. I recommend to read the books in order. The previous books are Always Room for Cupcakes; Cupcake Overload and Lei´d with Cupcakes. And I confess I´m addicted to cupcakes and this series. I just binge-read all books again and I can´t get enough of Lila, Cade and their friends.
Cupcake Explosion picks up some time after Lei´d with Cupcakes left off. Cade and Delilah are about to get married, but Lila wouldn´t be Lila when there weren´t some obstacles and hurdles. She´s now the owner of Horton Investigations and works as PI. She gets the weirdest and most heartbreaking cases. And to top it off, there´s a disappeared groom, twins who hit puberty, friends who make her life difficult. And all that wrapped up in a witty and fun read who captured me from the first page. I wasn´t hooked, I was HOOKED on Delilah´s story. Bethany Lopez´ book made me laugh, made me cry and I can´say how much I love the characters and their stories. I give 5 stars and recommend the book and the series.
I listened to the audiobook version of this book. This was a pretty quick listen for me. We get to watch as Lila investigates a few cases as well as the case of her missing fiance. This author is new to me and this is the first book of hers that I have read/listened to and I like her style. It is a light romantic mystery but the characters are quirky and likeable. Since this is the 4th book of the series but the 1st I have listened to, I think that there are things that I wasn't able to fully grasp but there was enough background reminders that I was able to follow well enough. The book was intriguing and I enjoyed the author's style well enough to be interested in listening to the previous books.
I liked this narrator's performance a lot. I haven't listened to her before but I did keep thinking that she sounded very familiar to me. There wasn't a whole lot of emotion/acting in the performance, but it worked for this listen regardless.
I received a review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
This was such a deeply touching and emotion ravishing story that I love so much! It reached inside me and laid claim to my heart before I even knew what would happen to these wonderful characters. Above all, I knew that I would enjoy this journey no matter how hard or how easy it got, and I was so right.. The storyline left me with bated breath as I watched these amazing characters find their way while loving and fighting the enter time. The strong and devoted family and friends left me in tears a few times at their deep love and appreciation of each other. Nothing was left to chance when it comes to the lives of those you love and cherish. Love, live, hope, and eat cake!
The narrator brought life and power to the captivating words of this powerful story. She made you feel even more, and made the journey that much more memorable. What a great performance! She highlighted the amazing creativity and immense power that this incredible author wields. I loved experiencing this story every step of the way.
Absolutely loved this book by Bethany! She never disappoints! Follow the wedding prep for Lila & Cade, as they plan their wedding, when Cade is sent out of town for the motorcycle group he's a part of, he tell's Lila he will be off the grid, and she's ok with that, it's a part of who he is! Until she's alerted that his bike was involved in a gas station explosion, now she's worried about him and she goes right into PI mode! Follow Lila as she investigates Cade's disappearance, and will he be found in time for their wedding? With his family coming into town, can she keep them in the dark and find him before anyone in his family realizes he's missing? Great story, great plot, I love Bethany's writing! 5 stars grab this one when it comes out, and if you haven't read the series, now's a good time to start!
I love this series so much! It’s fun, sexy, and suspenseful and I adore all of the characters!
With Cupcake Explosion, we get another great story. Lila & Cade’s life continues, giving us more laughs and toe-tingling moments. More shenanigans. More Cade. Need I say more?
In true Lila fashion, she ends up in quite a bind. Again. She meddles. Again. She just can’t help herself - always needing to stick her nose where it doesn’t belong. Well, according to her, it DOES belong. She’ll do whatever it takes if it involves someone she loves.
And finally, we get the wedding! *sigh* I cant get enough of this series. I hope we get lots more books to add! *I’m looking at you, Ms. Lopez*
If you’ve read and loved the other books in this series, you’ll definitely want to grab this one and dive right in!
Cupcake Explosion is the 4th and final book of the series. Lila survived meeting Cade's family and being kidnapped in Hawaii, now all she needs to survive is her wedding. When Cade tells her he's going to have to go off the grid for a couple weeks right before their planned nuptials, Lila doesn't have a good feeling about it.
I said it in my other reviews, I'll say it again, I really liked that the main characters stayed the same. Instead of 4 short books, it felt like one long one since the plot just continues like it's not an entirely new book. I love all of the side stories that were there too, Bea & Shannon, Carmen & Bran, Amy & Jason, all the side stories that you can't help but become invested in. The series is reminiscent of a Kristen Ashley book. Same narrator as book 3, who I really enjoyed and she did a fantastic job again.
Cade and Lila are getting married. It is just going to be a small affair at Cafe’s cabin. Three weeks before the wedding, Cade tells Lila that he has Club business and will be off the grid, so Lila will not hear from him or be able to get in touch with him. Lila doesn’t like it but understands as he promises he will be back in time for the wedding.
Lila is working on a couple of cases with Carmen helping her. She is also playing match maker with Bran and Carmen. Something happens to Cade that Lila inserts herself into. There are many things going on that makes the book interesting. This has been a good series that I have thoroughly enjoyed. I encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.
I received a free ARC of this book and am voluntarily writing my honest review.
I have been waiting for this book! The book where Lila and Cade get married. But in Lila's life, nothing is ever as easy as it should be. Cade is off taking care of Club business leaving Lila to finish the wedding details by herself. Lila decides to do what Lila does...meddle. This meddling results in a TON of hilarious moments.
I have loved watching this couple build their relationship. As always, the characters are well developed and realistic. Ms. Lopez has once again delivered laughs, romance, and some suspense! This author has become one of my go-to authors when I am looking for a great love story and some laughs!
I thought this was just an adorably sweet book! I gobbled it up in just one bite... err... evening I mean. So I haven't read or listened to the other books and I knew I was missing some goods... some fun inside jokes and whatnot. However, this was an adorable book by itself missing a bit or not. Delilah is wonderful and her friends are completely endearing and so likable. It makes me want to go back and listen to all the other books in the series.
The narrator, Kerian Kane was a great Delilah. She was pleasant and fun. I love it all mixed together... the fun and light with the sweet and charming. I would have enjoyed more... that's for sure!
