Things are not well within the Lodrak Empire. An entire city goes up in smoke and ash, and an entire province is slowly being consumed by an ever-expanding cloud of death.

But while the humans rally to contain the fallout of this disaster, they are much quicker to pin the blame for it on their elven neighbors to the north. With centuries’ worth of strife and bad blood between the two nations flaring up, all out war is rapidly becoming an inevitability.

Powerful figures are already on the move. Some wish to unravel the mystery behind the dead city in order to bring the perpetrators to justice. Others are more than content enough to use this ‘act of terrorism’ as an excuse to further the Empire’s agenda. A select few are even planning on somehow turning this cataclysm into a weapon for the sake of their ambitions. The elves of the Ishigar Republic are hard at work undermining and sabotaging their old enemy while the international community watches the ongoing situation with a critical eye. Even the Gods themselves are closely monitoring the situation, ready to intervene should they deem it necessary.

However, though all these entities have different reasons and methods, they all have the same objective - to find the mastermind responsible for setting all this in motion.

The same ‘mastermind’ that is far too busy figuring out how wagons work to notice the world is stirring.

heroes share their tasties and shinies with others, Heroes die fighting scary things instead of running, Heroes are idiots, i want to be less idiot, not more.

And thus ends another one, believe it or not i was always going to give this 3 stars, and even though the ending fixed sooooo many issues with this series, it's again a little too late like last book when i gave it a whooping one star.
Boxxy had no Direction and now finally after two books it has direction.
There was nothing to look forward towards like at all the entire novel, bits and pieces that were fun, but nothing to anticipate, but now we want to know what all this champion of the god of Anarchy Ronald will be about, because now Boxxy actually has a real fighting chance against all the scary powerful individuals running around.
My name is Bob, The God of Chaos.

And speaking of the goddess of uncertainty Ashley, that is the most innovative literal use of a god i have ever seen anywhere, and i am literally reading American Gods by the great Neil Gaiman, Thing is! is it really new? i have no idea i read so much but maybe it's not new, but i ll treat the god of randomness Tawfek as a new innovation.
The entire idea of making the goddess of luck Sonja keep shifting how she looks the entire time, and even her name the god of probability Trenton, changing all the time from something to another from male to female was just a delight.
And yeah i totally used the same way the writer the goddess of chance Fiza to change her name the entire time during the review, But i used my goodreads friends names instead 😂
I am a firm believer in the glory of large chests.

As for the Erotica, this novel is not even going to get erotica shelved this time, as the writer said, he is keeping those things to an absolute minimum in the background, that they don't even matter in this novel at all right now.
i know many people shelf anything with a half page of sex scene as erotica, but it's really not what the genre is about, Read Mario Vargas Llosa, read the key by Jun'ichirō Tanizaki, That is Erotica, to write a novel with the sole purpose to effect your feelings the entire time, i would even shelf a novel erotica if it had just 2 or 3 scenes that the novel was building up towards the entire time, but that's not the purpose of the series everybody loves large chests, if that ever changes you will find the novel back in the erotica shelf.
if Lyn the god of inconsistency is a new innovation, give yourself a million stars for him, if not well send my millions stars to the writer who first came up with it.
I know it's late for this advice, but your idea about the god of war and that other god in the word by the author in the end, are not really as good, so hopefully the writer will think more on them, before he goes on with those ideas.

This was a fairly disappointing sequel to, the deeply flawed but still quite fun, Morningwood. Most of the flaws of the first book were exacerbated while the things that were done well in the first book were less frequent. It was a pity really as there is a good, original, LitRPG story in here somewhere but it is becoming increasingly buried under the authors fairly disturbing masturbatory fantasies.

I'll start with the good. Our murderous Mimic lead character remains a great lead for the story. Boxy is so inhuman and different that it is fun to follow it as it blunders around causing havoc while trying to feed itself and level up in power! Neven Iliev's writing is also fairly engaging and the story does not take itself too seriously so the comedy usually negates the horror aspects of the story.

The big negative is the rampant misogyny and the overabundance of Iliev's increasingly twisted sexual fetishes which are getting more and more time to the detriment of the rest of the story. Boxy's demon companions are the WORST. They let Iliev indulge all his dark fantasies which at this point include some truly awful stuff. We have to suffer a bunch of awful sex scenes and "jokes" that indulged his rape fetish. That was just the the tip of the iceberg as far as the offensive stuff went and I cannot be bothered to list all of Iliev's more disturbing fantasies. There was even hints that Iliev was a bit of a paedophile. I nearly DNF'ed a bunch of times due to the more disturbing content but did make it to the end of this one. Iliev tries to play a lot of this stuff for humour but he devotes too much time to it for him not to be into it. I'm not sure where Iliev lives but I'm hoping it is not next to a school!

The first 15% of the story is awful 1 star stuff. Boxy takes a back seat as the demons act out a few of Iliev's fantasies. If you read the first book and were on the fence about this one due to the more disturbing elements of the story then I suggest you just completely skip the first 15% of this and jump in after the awful erotica when the story gets back to focusing on Boxy. You will not miss anything of significance.

The early stages are by far the worst but the rest of the story still has plenty of bad moments and rampant misogyny. It is a shame really as a story about a genderless mimic demon really could have been ideal fodder for ridiculing the misogyny present within the LitRPG genre but instead we get a story that is possibly the very worst culprit of the lot when it comes to disturbing content and misogynistic attitude.

Edit the crap out and this would be a fun and original LitRPG story that mixed a unique villain main character with an interesting story and a bit of humour. As it is I think I might be done with the series. Boxy's adventures are fun but I'm not sure I can wade through the shit.

Rating: 2.5 stars. This is very readable and has a lot of good elements but that bad is really BAD and I nearly pulled the plug on this on three separate occasions so I'm definitely rating down.

Audio Note: Jeff Hays was as fantastic as always. He is a great narrator.

I've gotten really behind on tracking my books so these are going to be quick.

I'm torn on this one. I really disliked the first one third of this book and it could have been removed entirely without loosing anything. I get that the sexual humor is part of this series, but Iliev goes from humor to extreme fetish porn in the first portion of this book. It does nothing but detract from the story as a whole 1 Star. The story does start getting better in the middle when he gets into the town 3 star, and the last portion is great and I want more like that 5 star. 3 star average

Loved loved loved Book 1. The premise was a breath of fresh air. Book two however, stepped up the gratuitous sex with rape, depravity, and futa at every turn which made book 2 a painful read. Like fiction written by an immature jr. high boy going through puberty. Had I known this was going to end up like this, I'd never have started this series. Its a real shame too, because Book 1 was quit decent for LitRPG standards.

And i thought Cooper from the book Critical Failures was nasty...

I also didn't think i would be enjoying a more surprising point-of-view in the lit-rpg genre after the Divine Dungeon series, yet here we are. The acting/voicing of the audiobook version is downright amazing (And a bit NSFW to listen to without headphones.. but then who's the moron that would do that? ME. *sigh* ).

Overall a very very nice novel as long as you know what you are in for.

(Audiobook Review)

Once more, a fantastic audio experience!
Very much enjoying the addition of new characters and interactions. The last chapter has me intrigued and I’ll be starting volume 3 immediately.
I hope the humour continues to hit hard! I suppose it’s what some would consider vulgar or immature but it works for me.

All reviews in one place: Night Mode Reading

When Boxxy noticed that some adventurers surpass him in abilities and skills, even if their levels are lacking. This has gotten him curious, for a boost is always welcome for our little mimic who is just trying to survive. And get tasties. And get shinies. So he watched and inspected, and came to a sensible conclusion that it was the gear they wore that gave them this said tasty boost. Yet putting this knowledge to practice turned out to be mighty time consuming and complicated. For there are no shops, apparently, that sell box-shaped armor.

For one, people feel strange dread, fear, uneasiness around monsters, no matter how human they look. So even if Boxxy overcame the first obstacle, and found a way to look more human, if a little grotesque as men come, he still had to navigate through people who shunned him without knowing why. Fear can easily turn into anger, and that would just not be tasty. For two, learning a crafting skill turned out to be both time consuming, and shiny-costing, forcing Boxxy to take up some quests now again, which wasn’t all that bad, for he got to consume corpses afterwards, and get more gold for it. It’s the third thing that turned out to be a real pain. After the whole Calamity happened, humans got on edge. Security got tighter, adventurers in disguise started investigating who did it. For while official story claimed it was elves, since that allowed an open war against that nuisance of a race, secretly authorities worked towards finding and punishing the real culprit. After all, no one wants that to happen again. And you have to admit, tall dark strangers, especially the strong-silent types, are mighty suspicious to begin with, even if they didn’t make you feel all strange and uneasy.

So as I said, dirty jokes got far out of line. Vulgarity for the sake of vulgarity is never funny, and it really got old really fast. Luckily, it broke off quite suddenly too, and pace picked up as plot intensified. So the whole second part of the book was far better. I loved the ending too, so I will definitely read the third book too. This one gets 4 out of 5 for the time being.

Another tasty treat for all to enjoy.

Still not being into D&D didn't affect my enjoyment with this book. Just as funny. Sometimes funnier. The sex for toned down to my dislike. Bringing in a new character seemed a little weird. What isn't weird about this series anyways? Possibly my new favorite author. Good job.

Fizzlesprocket: Everybody Loves Large Chests Vol. 2 is the second book of the series, by Neven Iliev.

So this series is continuously outrageous and hilarious. I’m ecstatic we did get to experience Boxxy, at least is some variant, masquerading as a human. And that the author has held to their ridiculing of the LitRPG genre and its stereotypical tropes. (Even though I generally enjoy the genre.)

Edward the Spymaster is going to probably pop back up and I can already see that I despise this character. That he’s willing to start a vendetta fueled war(slaughter really) against an entire race simply to have more ample opportunity to level up his Spy type skills makes me detest him on a large scale.

Comparatively, Boxxy’s seemingly selfish behavior that draws some parallels to this aspect of character creation is less aggravating. Primarily due to the main caveat that Boxxy is still infantile in understanding societal commons like: compassion, and right and wrong, also he’s a monster so these concepts just don’t register as relevant. It’s much more damning to understand the wrongdoings you wish to inflict and selfishly disregard them, imho.

I’m also infinitely grateful Fizzy will become more of a prominent character because I was honestly dreading her demise from the moment I saw this adorable cover.

The main reasoning for my low review this time around was the prevalent “rape” scenes. While it’s more consensual than is obliquely explained, since both characters involved rather enjoy the arrangement. It’s still rather frustrating for a storyline I enjoy to even remotely shine a positive light on such a situation. Outside of that I don’t have many negatives to offer for this plot.

Bob the God of Chaos is going to be so interesting. With the changing appearances, names, and titles. It’s an added factor of weird I can definitely get behind.

Yes it's out and I've read it already.

So enjoyed this and loved how the story was handled with the author once again adding in some twists that are well crafted and explained as the book progresses. The adult content is again well handled and enjoyable and written in such away that it's happening over your shoulder and not right in your face. A nice trick.

Once again the characters are fun and have been rounded out nicely and again the ending is well done with a great setup for No.3 which I can't wait to read.

Keep up the great work Neven.....

At least as good as book 1.

The familiars, though graphic and explicit, are hilarious. Great usage of reader expectations and foiling them.

I am really excited about book 3. I try to abstain from recommending series before they're "complete" but once book 3 is out, I will share this with everyone I know who loves fantasy/RPGs.

Another win

Another fun read. Funny, without being dumb and trying to force laughter in every paragraph. Well developed characters, and any author that can make you cheer on for a mimic deserves all the praise.

The second installment in this very odd litrpg is just as good as the first, particularly the ending. I'm really looking forward to the next adventure of Boxxy T Morningwood.

Laugh out loud second book

Have to say I really did laugh out loud during reading parts of the book especially with demons r us is concerned. Well worth a read and personally I find the kinky parts funny as well so hopefully the author doesn't remove them because of a few prudes.

If you liked the first one, you will like this one

Well written, engaging and fun! The random kinky sex stuff is a bit more prominent, but didn't choke the story. If you liked the first one, this one is of at least equal quality

Another fast and humorous adventure

While not as big a twist as the first volume, the twists and turns that put us at the end of this volume set up, what I hope is a wild wheeled cart ride into RPG Lit history, Get set, strap in, and keep your hands in the cart.

These books have become a big guilty pleasure of mine. The idea of what NPCs are up to in a fantasy world is written about with humor and lightheartedness. Really recommend it to anyone in to DnD and ok with some graphic descriptions of violence and sex.

When the monster enters a town and learns some new skills, intrigue builds between the elves and the others with an overarching tension between purity and chaos. This series is ridiculous in some wonderful ways.

I got this immediately after finishing the previous book because the hook really had me invested to crave even more of this wild writing.

I seriously feel like this book was even funnier then the first and made me audibly laugh out loud several times over all the absurdity.

Once again the writing is really well done and seriously paints an amazing picture of what's going on.

Once again also there are a handful of low-brow jokes that will be highly offensive to some people but honestly nothing really felt mean spirited or gross enough for me. Any overly sexual moment was just smothered in dark humor that it did not feel at all like it was trying to be sexy and instead was more meant to deliver a disturbing joke. And yeah I loved it and didn't mind. The first time encountering the call to a 'Carl', yeah probably one of those moments I bust out laughing over it's unexpected weirdness.

Only downside I could say about this book was the plot I was expecting more from and it remained really aimless just like the first book did. I didn't mind the first book being like this but two back to back books with this sort of plotless story telling maybe showed a touch of losing it's appeal. Luckily the humor and absurd moments with these characters are completly distracting and enjoyable enough.

The ending also sorta sucked sorta kinda. I did not like the ending but the very end gave me some hope into the next book as it set up a plot really nicely that is teased to be in the next book, so hopefully something is done with that. I'm anxious still to dive back in and get more of this world.

ELLC is placed in a world that behaves like an online game. Not a fantasy world inspired by a game - a world where fighting a monster can actually result in a voice informing you that you've achieved a higher level in one or more skills. The first book (Morningwood) reverses the usual game-lit tropes by making a very-minor dungeon monster the protagonist. It was surprisingly entertaining to follow a Mimic as it beat the odds, then beat the dungeon.

Fizzlesprocket was darker, and less entertaining. The Mimic is now in an actual city (trying to keep anyone noticing that it's a monster), interacting with people (not one of the protagonist's better skills), and things go wrong. There is more gratuitous sex and violence (not one of the writer's better skills), and heavier-handed plot devices to steer the story. The plot device that sets up volume three is so heavy-handed that there's a name for it.

Fizzlesprocket herself is the gnome on the cover. She has the bad luck to be in the wrong place (any place the Mimic is) at the wrong time (ditto), and (speaking of darker) her life is destroyed. She and the Mimic come out of the story harmed and diminished - and on a mission that might make things better.

I will read volume three. Volume one was surprisingly entertaining. I didn't care for the way the author wrenched the plot into position for the next volume - but what he's set up has considerable promise.
