The world is twisting into something new. Kaitlyn’s focus must be on survival but the chances of that are getting slimmer at every turn. With everything evolving into a stronger version of its past self, she needs to find a way to do the same. She has to become strong enough to survive in this new, harsh world and with Lincoln by her side she feels it may just be possible. He is the one thing she knows she can rely on while everything around them comes crashing down. The pressure of their safety weighs heavily on his shoulders and he doesn't want to trust the beating of his heart. Though it pulls them ever closer, how can he trust in their emotions when so much has happened? One thing is certain; they need to find a way to safety before it's too late to escape. In a world where nothing is what it once was, they must find a way to adapt. Hope is fading as the storm closes in on them and time is running out.

Hey!

We are Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti, sisters and best selling co-authors of all things dark romance - fantasy and contemporary, M/F and RHs, there’s something for everyone, as long as you love characters who will break your heart, stomp on it and laugh over the pieces before putting them all back together in the end. We live in the South East of England, kinda near London but far enough out to be able to look at fields all wistfully and shit if the mood takes us. We work together from our countryside office through the week, writing down most of the madness that exists in our heads on paper, so that you can come and escape to our imaginary worlds for a little bit too. We don’t shy away from twisted cliffhangers, and love an Alpha asshole, but our leading women are of the badass, take no shit lying down variety, so it’s always a rollercoaster of a ride. We can’t wait for you to buckle up with us!

ANOTHER CLIFF HANGER. THE AGONY.
Well Valenti has done it again. She’s managed to spin a tale full of twists and turns only to suddenly break it off with a cliffhanger/major twist that will have me raging for days with the desire to know what happens next!

Altered is a riveting sequel in the Tainted Earth saga that will have your eyes sparking with familiarity and your jaw dropping with its destination. Adventurous, deadly, and crafted within a bold predatory world, this dystopian series is shaping up to be one twisting thrill of a ride.

For whatever reason Valenti’s writing style clicks with me so it was no surprise to me that I was swept away on this wild adventure once more. Having read the Cage of Lies saga first it’s really cool to see little tie-ins between that distant overgrown world and the one currently tearing apart in the Tainted Earth saga. I'm still gasping from the end of this book and can't wait to read what comes next!

Amazing!!!!! This series is captivating!!

I read this book straight through and it was so amazing! In it, the world has suffered from a major infection, where the plants and wildlife grow crazily and act barbarically. The humans infected are totally crazy and out to kill anyone, and the government shoots first and asks questions never.

If you like apocalyptic books, you absolutely have to pick this up!! We get to travel this new world from several characters’ perspectives and it is nonstop action, can’t put down, have to find out what happens next type of a read.

I don’t want to put any spoilers in here, but Susanne Valenti is super talented and has a gift for telling great stories! Of course the first book ended on a cliffhanger, so I have been on pins and needles to find out what happens next and then this book goes and leaves us with another cliffhanger!! Pure, absolute torture having to wait to find out what happens next, but nothing great comes without a little suspense and waiting, I suppose!!

Go out and get your copy now, especially while it’s free to read on Kindle Unlimited! You won’t be disappointed!!

I am in love with this series and I had my fingers crossed that the third book, titled Adapted was already released but I had no luck. The ending was amazing, I honestly felt anxious for the characters in the book because they were not only relatable but also because it was one thing after another that this group had to face in this newly Dystopian World they have been stuck in the middle of. Everything was so detailed that it felt like I was experiencing everything with them as well and I know that is what many authors strive to achieve is relatability between the characters and the readers. I cannot wait to see what else Susanne Valenti has up her sleeve for book three and I will continue to stalk her Facebook author page for updates when and if they pop up.

Sent by author just before publication.
I loved the cage of lies series and frequently pump them to other YA dystopian fans.. so I thought I’d love the ‘prequels ‘.. but, turns out, not so much!
This is the second of the pre cage of lies trilogy and I’m finding the ‘main’ characters .. well.. boring frankly. Very one dimensional tbh.
No doubt I will read the last one but the series, so far, hasn’t grabbed me the way cage of lies did

Slow

I was really interested in the first book. I have read a lot of dystopian stories but they usually start after whatever happened to create the dystopian world. This series starts before and you get to see how things quickly get out of control. I enjoyed the first book. This book though, didn't seem to go anywhere.

Loved it!

Awesome second installment! Fewer grammar mistakes than the first book and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I can not stress enough how important character development is to me and these characters are amazing. Can’t wait to read the next!

well i devoured this book. the action and adventure, along with drama and romance was a perfect balance. of course the cliffhanger at the end was to be expected from one of the twisted sisters, but these fast paced books are just perfect for me right now

I didn't like that it was going in to multiple POV's especially for characters I don't really like.

Good 2nd book

Parts of it are great, and parts are kinda eh. It was good so I give it 4 stars. The ending was weird. I do wonder how it will play out though.

👎 Bored. Ending it here, especially after realizing the author never finished the series, and the last book was published in 2018 😅

First off, Katy and Linc? UGH. I love them so much. Also...WHAT? Hawker 😭😭. Rose is part of what? So many twists I can honestly say I didn't see coming. What have they gotten themselves into? Sullivan gives me Negan vibes and I am already here for it.
