When Blaise Lundgaard , an extremely wealthy businessman takes his handicapped little sister to a dance festival, he casts one look on Kaia Benson , a 23 year old dancer in an independent dance troup Bodies in Motion, and he's simply stunned by her performance. BUT even more, he's become obsessed with the vision of her and her aura, without even knowing her.

BUT that would soon change, as Blaise not only casts his spider webs into lurring and trapping Kaia into his arms, he's actually smooth in doing so, as he immorally plays out his cards in achieving his one and only goal - having Kaia forever, no matter what, he needs to destroy her solid ground so he can build another...and his manipulation tactics have no end...

By doing so, his moves and actions are despicable and devious BUT then again, those actions only spur reactions from the people that play his game...he's merely a master puppeteer, setting the course of display and drama plots to his own gain...but no mater how wrong his actions are, he only opens the endless sphere of human's nature, uncovering layers and layers of each pawn making them all accessaries in this game of morally wrong and right, where gray lines are being blurred, and an eternal struggle between body and mind...

Oh my fuck...

I m not even liking this character...lol

And this is most certainly NOT a romance, well, at least I didn't see it as romance, cause there was nothing "romantic" about it , so I won't even go down that road...

This is a sickly obsession over a woman and a pure demonstration of power when you have money to support your fucked up sense of moral...which is actually non-existant...

The lengths of this man's depravity in actions to get what he wants goes beyond any sane notion, it s wrong, it's so fucking wrong...that at the end of it all, you start to believe in his 'cause'

How fucked up is that?

and the fact, that the author interestingly in a very slick kinda way showed the actual psychological shades of each human being, putting it simply out there, "if given a chance, or a reason that spurs your deepest interest, how far would you go, what would you accept to do, in order to achieve your goal?"

Do the means always justfy the goal?

In what situation they do? And who sets the "justifiable reasons"?

You, by your own moral code? Or the one that society set upon you?

I have to admit, that even though I can't LOVE nor LIKE the main character, HE's absolutely the perfect personification of every "wrong" decision one made while thinking he's doing "right" for his own selfish reasons...

While the heroine is portrayed as an altruist with a heavy conscience and high leveled empathy...this making her a perfect pray for the evil to come forward with his blackmailing ways to make her do his bidding.

and if we see it like that, then these two characters could be simply presented as the neverending fight betweeen good and evil...and then some...

and yeah, there's a second book, too...LOL

This guy was one manipulative obsessed guy!
I wish the writing was better though in one scene it’s says her dad had a son and daughter with his wife Maryanne then towards the end it’s says he has two daughters and his wife is called Wendy. In that same scene the heroine was referred to as being Jamie and not by her real name Kaia, it was pretty distracting along with quite a lot of grammar mistakes throughout the story. Still apart from all that I did enjoy this book and I am looking forward to their next book!

You know what? Consent is sexy.

You know what isn't sexy? Stalking, manipulation and rape.

You what is even less sexy than that? Explaining to your friend that you are basically being sexually blackmailed and whored out for her livelihood and the livelihoods of the people you work with and her response is "well, it is only for a few months and at least he's good looking and rich."

This book would have been a run of the mill romance with an alphahole hero is who just super possessive except it pushes that line way the fuck out and then steps way the fuck over it.

I gather there is a whole subgenre that focuses on dubcon? I suppose. I just hate that it tries to pretty it up as romantic romance.

The "hero" is presented as exactly what he is. Right there on the page he is basically a stalker -- who fixates on the heroine, moves to the city where she lives, manipulates events so that she is under his power, moves her into his house, puts GPS tracker on her phone, shows up everywhere she is, barely even lets her out of his sight. Heck he followed her to the bathroom in a public restaurant because she was gone too long. He also forces her to have sex with him and .

The heroine is, if it is even possible, more problematic. She very clearly -- with no ambiguity -- does not want the hero. She is afraid of him, calls him creepy, cries because he is upending her life, tries to get away from him multiple times, is depressed by her utter powerlessness, and tells him multiple times she does not want to have sex with him, even fights to get away from him. And yet, her body wants him. And how do we know this? Because the "hero" is forever plunging his fingers into her to "prove" this to her because of course she is wet. The disconnect between what is clearly going on in the heroine's head and what her actions are saying vs. body's reaction to the hero is aggressively uncomfortable and pretty harmful, imo.

By the end of this installment (I realized after I finished it that there is a a second part) they are together and . I did not come away feeling optimistic about them. I came away feeling that this guy is a textbook domestic abuser and IRL she's a dead woman walking if she didn't get away from him.

Like I mentioned, there is a second book that continues their story. I imagine it will include an entire redemption arc to make the "hero" more palatable. I am sure he'll get some tragic or angsty backstory or that the heroine will finally stand up to him and exert some independence. But I am not interested to find out.

He's gotta have her... by any means necessary!!!!!!!!!!

Hero and billionaire, Blaise Lundgaard was unequivocally obsessed with heroine, Kaia Benson, the principal dancer of Bodies in Movement Dance Troupe. With money and power, Blaise Lundgaard could have had any woman on earth but Lundgaard was immediately enchanted with Kaia when he saw he dance in his hometown of Copenhagen. There after, methodical Blaise used any means necessary to possess the dancer who was romantically involved with the owner and her dance partner, Landon Campion.

“I do not jest when it comes to matters of business or if it’s something I really want.” He turned his gaze in Kaia’s direction to make sure she received the full impact of his statement.

Just as ruthless and calculating as he presented himself in the business world with connections galore, he used those same aggressive and sometimes manipulative tactics to dominate Kaia.

“I’m a man of means, which grants me access to certain information that others may not be privy too. Let’s leave it at that.”

Step by step, his scheming, lies, stalking and even using blackmail schemes of sorts, Blaise did it!

“Stalking…that’s an interesting word. I’d rather call it, accepting a challenge. You threw down the gauntlet when you up and disappeared. It was very short-sighted of you to not think I’d come looking for you.”

“ Perhaps, I could be of some assistance.” He reached into the breast pocket of his jacket and pulled out his platinum business card holder. He took one out and handed it to her. “I happen to have an office building in Memphis. We’re expanding in that area and looking for some qualified applicants. I’m almost certain our marketing department is also hiring. Have your father contact my assistant whose information is also on that card and see if we can set up and interview for him."

"Blaise smirked and placed his hands behind his back. From the moment he’d set eyes on Kaia, he was determined to have her. But one thing he learned through his dealings in business was that in order to achieve any goal, one had to study the objective thoroughly before executing. And, Kaia Benson was a favorite subject of his. The file Blaise had the security agency compile on her told him everything about her, and probably things she didn’t know herself. He knew everything from where she’d gone to school since pre-school to what her favorite place to eat was. And, he knew exactly what buttons to push to get her to agree to come with him."

Did I like Blaise? Nope, not really but he had a redeeming love and devotion for his little sister, Aneka that I found heartwarming and inspiring in the story. Sweet Aneka was confined to a wheelchair but wanted to be a dancer one day and her brother would 'bend heaven' to give her the operations necessary for her to one day walk and dance! Honestly, I didn't start liking Blaise until towards the ending of the book that ended in the dreaded cliffhanger!

3.5/4 obsessed stars!!!!!!!!

Thanks again to Goodreads' friend, Meme for telling me to basically finish the book... lol

I was completely OK with Blaise's possessiveness and manipulative side. It reminded me of The Bad Guy, the way the hero manipulated the situation to get the heroine but Sebastian in The Bad Guy was never abusive. On the other hand, Blaise was abusive and a rapist.

Exhibit 1:

Exhibit 2: The first time they "had sex"
Kaia repeatedly said she does not want to have sex with Blaise but Blaise never listened and even restrained her. She even said it's rape but he just ignored her??
She struggled against her restraints but Blaise had done a good job of securing her. “This is rape!” she screamed.

A sinister smile curved Blaise’s lips. “You think so? Interesting.”

description

I know when it comes to books of this genre (aka dubcon), there's a thin line when it comes to whether the sex was consensual or rape. But I felt this fell into the rape zone, even though she was into it when they were actually fucking. And I can't image what Blaise would do the next time Kaia does something he doesn't like (probably finish the job of choking her.. 🙄).

"Obsessed" is the story of Kaia and Blaise.

In a story of ruthless want and obsession, our hardworking billionaire H takes one look at the swan like h, and falls head over heels in lust with her. She is a talented dancer working for a struggling troop, and in relationship with the owner. He manipulates his way into her life, blackmailing and orchestrating his way to make her his, removing and exposing his nemesis. She struggles and fights him head on, but is no match for his mindless domination.

He was crazy, she was strong, they fought and sparks flew. Her ex was a money hungry rat, and I'm glad the H exposed him. The sex was hot, and I enjoyed the bred epilogue.

This wasn't the book for me. I struggle with any story that tries to show how a rapist can become a loving, caring person to his victim.

In this story, Blaise is a rich and powerful man who gets obsessed with Kaia. He manipulates certain events that forces Kaia's boyfriend and dance company owner to struggle to find funding. That these men decide that trading her for funding for the dance company is one thing. That she believed that she didn't have to have sex with him was crazy.

Point of no returned for me: He took her to a room after an event to have sex. She said no and fought to get out the room. This was not a narrative of the person playing hard to get. She stated over and over again that she wanted nothing to do with him. He tied her up and had sex with her anyway. This is rape.

That a woman is made to feel powerless by the men in her life, agrees with their plans does not make her a willing participant. That made it hard for me to believe that she fell in love with this person.

Oh my, what to rate this, what to rate this. I think I'm going to do the review and decide the rating at the end this time.

Okay, storytime, the book is about a guy with a disabled preteen sister who is wheelchair-bound after a car accident involving her parents. He takes care of her and is in a relationship with the cliche vain woman who only wants him for his money.

Everything changes when he takes his sister to a dance show and he sees one of the dancers and suddenly becomes obsessed with her. Twice he tries to see her after the show but she always seems to have a reason to leave before he comes.

Kaia is a twenty-three-year-old girl who loves to dance. Her boyfriend Landon is in charge of the newly Bodies in Motion dance group and he choreographs the dances and she is the principal dancer.

So after the guy, Blaise, sees her, suddenly funding of the dance group becomes a problem as two backers pull out and no one knows why. Well during a backstage trip, Blaise tells Landon to come by his house and to bring Kaia with him so they can talk about funding. He drags Kaia outside and makes her uncomfortable by hitting on her but she leaves when Landon finds them.

The next day Kaia is on her way home from teaching disadvantaged kids how to dance, Blaise forces her into his car and blackmails her into being with him or else he will pull his funding from the group. He even calls her boyfriend and tells him he is having a change of heart of it.

Then he takes her to his house where she meets his sister again. Oh right. Well the first time she met his sister, this preteen got it in her mind that her idol, Kaia, this stranger she knows nothing about, is going to be her bestie and accompany her to her appointments regarding her future chances of walking again.

So she meets the sister again. And Blaise continues to make her feel uncomfortable. Landon comes after being invited over and Blaise gets to the point that in order for him to fund the company, he wants Kaia all to himself and Landon out of the picture.

The first question this great guy ask is "for how long?"

Kaia jumps up and runs out the house and back to her loft that she shares with this great guy and he comes back about four hours later telling her to do it because it won't last long because a chick like her won't keep the attention of a guy like Blaise forever anyway. Her eyes slowly start to open that the three years she spent with this guy has been a waste and that he is supposedly the reason she is not some big star in the world because he told her years back to turn down all the offers she got in the dance world and be with him to help him start his own dance group.

So she leaves and is AWOL for two days, staying on the couch of one of the dance members, but then Blaise finds her after the great guy Landon calls him two days later and tells him she is gone. So he takes her to his house and tells his sister that she is staying with them under the threat that if she doesn't come with him he will also ruin the lives of the people in her dance group.

He draws up a contract per her request that he funds the company and sees to the needs of her friends so he no longer can threaten her with it. And that she also continue to dance there with no interference from him.

She goes back to the dance company where she learns some snooty girl took her main role in the dance, but they compete for it and Kaia wins despite not being around for two days and this chick who has apparently still sucked and misses steps.

So then Landon wants to talk to Kaia in the office He flips the script and blames her for the situation saying it is her fault that Blaise is so fixated on her and that she just wants a rich guy and that she is throwing their three-year relationship down the drain. She tells him off but cries and he hugs her and then Blaise comes in and drags her out of the building.

He tells her there is a party they need to go to and shows her a red fancy dress she has to wear. So they go to the party and his scorn lover tells her she doesn't belong there and then Kaia tells her off. Then Blaise comes after hearing the conversation and tells the scorned lover off too and they leave.

They go home and sleep together. Well, I think it might be rape but after a while, it seems to be consensual.

The next day she goes back to the studio and tells one dancer the whole situation but leaves out the part where he had investigated everyone and threaten their income if she didn't do what he wanted. So then later she goes out with friends and ignores Blaise's calls. When she gets home, he screws her against the wall after choking her and then takes her to the bedroom and repeats. Then he tells her his life story and they agree to be friends.

So the next day Blaise and his sister go to see her live performance with the group and meet everyone backstage again. After some childish behavior from the group members and the great guy known as Landon, she gets a visitor from her seemingly deadbeat daddy who she has lunch with. She doesn't know if she wants to give him a chance but he leaves her his card anyway.

She tells Blaise how he just up and left the family thirteen years back and that her mom had to work a lot of jobs to make ends meet which makes no sense to Blaise who looked her whole background up because it came back that the dad did pay child support. Hinting g the mom was a crappy parent and not so much so the dad.

So anyway fast forward with all the birth control talk before they first slept together and how he didn't want "barriers" between them, she starts to feel sick and then I just start to skim the book.

My enjoyment of the book died before chapter ten is all I can say. It seemed like an interesting read and it was kind of refreshing. There was no real sign that Kaia returned his feelings or liked him in any kind of way. She was in a happy relationship with a good guy who was trying to get his dance group to bigger places. And a minor detail that I really enjoyed, Kaia is African-American. Finally actual diversity and not just on the guy's part.

Or not. Some of this felt forced. I'll start with Kaia. She is supposed to be the victim in all this. But I had zero sympathy for her situation. She's easy to blackmail because she cares so much for others so all Blaise had to do was threaten to back out of funding the group or mention the personal financial situations of the members to get her to do what he wanted.

She spends three years devoted to Landon and turning down dance offers to bigger and more well-known people because he convinces her to but also because she convinces herself that being the main dancer is a startup dance group is where she wants and needs to be.

Does all this stuff for this dance group who once sang her praises and they soon turn into this ungrateful bunch because they think she suddenly dumped Landon to be with a rich, hottie guy. Basically, she takes crap from everyone in the book and never once takes responsibility for her actions.

Landon talked her into staying with him for three years and Blaise threatens her to be with him forever. How ironic.

That's where it felt forced that Landon is all of a sudden this bad guy who flips the script on her and blames her for the situation and then turns around and accuses her of throwing three years down the drain. It didn't seem realistic to me that he would do a one-eighty like that. It's like he had to be made a jerk for it to be okay for her to later have an attraction to Blaise later on because let's face it if the relationship was really good and that simple, Kaia would be a female dog for doing what she did. So put her in the victim role and let these guys tower over her and tell her what to do with her life. Because it's common for guys to be jerks anyway. Oh, and the common kicker, he was bad in bed. Because we have to keep adding more reasons why the relationship was better off being over and further prove how she was just settling with being in a "perfect" relationship.

Blaise was a lowlife creep. He not only blackmailed Kaia with the funding but also used his preteen sister to see Kaia more and keep her from leaving. Because you know, what kind of person just up and leaves a little girl they just met even though you want nothing to do with their brother?

If Kaia had been a strong woman who refused to be blackmailed and actually had no interest in the guy, the story would have been more interesting. But the story was predictable from start to finish. She could have been blackmailed and then later changed her mind when the group started being a-holes. But, of course, boundaries like that can't be crossed. The heroine has to be likable and being a doormat with occasional sass does it.

I won't be reading the next and I want my four fifty back.

Oh, I need to pick a star rating......... two!

DNF: the chemistry and tension between the characters is as dead, as a sewer rat in a dumpster

This is the first time a 3rd POV doesn't make sense and distances me from understanding the book. Also, the concept of a young black woman being basically forced to be a slave to this rich white guy is...not my kind of entertainment.

Goodness gracious this book right here
This was a niiiiiice first read by author Eve Vaughn and won't be my last. Wow what can I say??? Well The Hero Blaise was a crazy ass dominating obsessed dued but I loved it. He knew what he wanted and didn't back down until he got it. Kaia did stand a chance up against him. He had a whole other type of level of determination going on lol, black mail he was game lol. I will say that Kaia did put up a good fight with him but of course toward the middle she caved which was fine it was all written pretty smoothly.
I love these straight to the point type stories with no love at first sight. I don't usually like quick reads because I need depth and all that to pull me in for the up and down road ahead, but with this story I didn't feel I needed it. This was just a fun hot spicy dominating read I cant wait for more from these two yuuup there is a part two.

Happy reading my friends Here's my cover art couple

I know I keep using Henry Cavil but I cant help it lol

Flat characters, barely any character development and so boring. DNF at 55%.
I think the h is African-American (interracial relationship), although the author makes this very vague. She had an afro in one scene, and her dark skin is mentioned a few times.

My goodness! That epilogue just gave me chills. Although I had a hunch it would be that way, I just don't think that he would actually did that.

I don't consider this as romance. Because that was far from romance. He was a manipulative asshole. But I admit I liked it.

Warning: dubcon.

Blaise is extremely rich and the guardian of his younger sister. Ever since his parents died, he's learned to take things for himself because there's no guarantee. Because his younger sister wants to be a dancer, he takes her to see Bodies in Motion where Kaia is the principle dancer. He becomes obsessed and works to manipulate situations in order to have her.

Kaia is an extremely talented dancer and dating the choreographer and owner, Landon. When Blaise offers to give Bodies in Motion funding for the cost of Kaia, Landon agrees to hand her over. Kaia, of course, is offended and doesn't know what to do. Blaise makes her uncomfortable, but if she refuses to his terms then all of her friends will be without a job, so she takes his offer.

I love an obsessive hero but I'm always really back and forth when it comes to the actual methods. For example, when Blaise assured Kaia that he wouldn't make her do anything sexual with him.. and then basically manipulates her into it, I was like meh. I'm curious to see what happens when Kaia figures out everything and how she'll react but I'm just not sure if I'm interested enough to read the next book.

Bravo Eve! Bravo! I am officially obsessed (pun intended)!

Obsessed is my first experience with Vaughn and definitely not my last. I am shocked and amazed Blaise came through as an obsessed hero with very LITTLE darkness. Who knew such a feat existed? Kaia is a heroine after my own heart! She’s not a lovestruck pansy falling in love by chapter two! She gives Blaise the business! I’m so proud. Don’t sleep on Blaise because dude is a slick one. I absolutely love him! I’m definitely on to book two.....this story is too juicy not to finish!!!

Five stars!

Just read “Run”

“Stop me, oh stop me. Stop me if you’ve think you’ve heard this one before.” Look, I think Eve Vaughn is a talented writer, but she keeps rehashing the same storyline over and over again. I love a good psycho alpha-male (in stories only), but I immediately recognized this as a mashup of several of her previous works. BOOO! Lazy. Also, the pet name he gave her was so uninspired I couldn’t take it seriously. I say give this a hard pass and just read the “Run” series.

Yes!! Nothing makes me sigh like a guy who's good, but dirty bad too. So, I'm rooting for Blaise. He's so unapologetically BAD about anything he must do to get what he wants. And he wants Kaia.

Kaia is a gentle soul with a pure red heart, that's about to be tainted. She's not exactly a push over, but will at times place others before herself, leaving herself open for manipulation.

Obsessed, was a great start to Blaise and Kaia' s story. Can't wait for book 2🤗

I'm obsessed with an alpha

OMG! I asked for an alpha that knew what he wanted and went after it wholeheartedly. Blaise is that alpha male that tells you that you don't decide this relationship is over. Kaia is the woman that says you don't tell me to sit down as shes sitting down. Talking about I'm sitting down cause I want to not because you told me.

Really good book. Highly recommendeda

Bit torn. I like the obsessive, alpha male character who manipulates anything and everything to be with the heroine. There is definitely dubious consent/rapey vibes in some of the scenes. However, he does have a more nuanced personality than her.

But there was really bad grammar and mistakes with name calling. The heroine’s name is Kaia but in one scene she is referred to as Jamie (the name of Vaughn’s heroines in her other book). Heroine’s dad’s wife’s name also changes from Wendy to Brittney. 🤷‍♀️

I found the heroine falling a bit flat for my liking. She’s just a goody two shoes. I wish she had more personality or spunk/resistance. Her relationship with her boyfriend to ex was also flat and could’ve been padded out a bit.

At the end, I wasn’t convinced she was into him. I understand why because of what he did, how he did it. But there genuinely wasn’t a lot of active romance involved.

Safety: He has an ex called Lisbeth who tries and fails to create any drama. He leaves her as soon as he sees the heroine dance. Three months later he “meets” said heroine.
Heroine has a bf of 3 years called Landon. She then breaks up with bf, because of circumstances engineered by the H.

3.25⭐️ one of my favorite tropes ever is obsessive heroes. just something about their possessiveness and the amount of love they have for the heroine makes me really smile. i didn’t feel great chemistry in this book. the guy was extremely controlling in an annoying way. i just didn’t like how there was so much internal dialogue but not enough external dialogue. the premise of this book was good, the execution just fell very flat.

I loved how obsessed this guy was for the h. However, there were some really bad errors made by the author. There was a page where the author refers to the h as Jaimie and I was confused as to why Campton was periodically called Landon. These mistakes made it difficult to follow the story. In addition, I wish the author would have made the h's ex-boyfriend with more depth than a generic ex. Some characters were just tropes we have seen many times such as a really beautiful woman who is selfish, greedy, and slutty. I was disappointed that the author decided to make the h pregnant at the end. The h was only 23 and since there is going to be a sequel, I would have liked more than reading about her being a mother and missing out on her dream.

I’ve never anything by this author before and now that I have I’m going to binge. I loved Kaia. Her personality was everything you’d want in a heroine. She was selfless with her friends and the people that mattered in her life, she was perhaps one of the most logical heroines I’ve ever read. Blaise is ruthless and doesn’t apologize for anything. When he sets his mind to getting this beautiful dancer, boy does he not allow a single obstacle in his way. I loved the secondary characters. Everything about this is five amazing perfect stars.

Blaising Hot!

Blaise saw Kaia and it was instalust. He manipulated nearly every character in the story (okay a lot of characters, I exaggerate) to get to her and he felt that nothing was wrong with this. Stalk much? Kaia was like "I HATE him, he's sick!" Then, "He's okay," then, "He's grown on me, I guess I love him, Landon who?"

OKAY..... Let me just start with WTF???? I really mean it - just WTF???

Now that I've got that off my chest, I'll cut to the chase. Kaia Benson is the principal dancer for a troop called Bodies in Motion started by her lover, partner, roommate Landon Campion. Their dance troop is small but successful and Kaia's abilities as a dancer are pretty up there. When doing a small tour of Europe they end up dancing in a festival taking place in Copenhagen where they have (what I would call) the misfortune to have one of Denmark's most powerful men, Blaise Lundegaard come across them whilst taking his little sister Aneka out to watch the dancers. And BAM, Blaise gets one view of Kaia and her performance and has already decided she's his. That's right, he doesn't want to try and court her, he doesn't just daydream over her, for him it's a done deal. He's going to own her ass.

What follows is Kaia, Landon and the troop back in NYC where the 23 year old dancer continues with her life and career as was until things start falling apart. Their private funders all seem to drop out. That endowment they were sure to get goes to someone else. Then Blaise shows up in NYC with Aneka (who is wheelchair bound) and gets in touch with Landon as he'll be there for several months so Aneka can have a new state of the art, pioneering surgery. He dangles his money in front of Landon saying he would like to sponsor the company and invites the troop to his penthouse for cocktails. When push comes to shove, he basically announces to Kaia that she is to be his and that he'll let the dance company go down the drain, make sure none of the other dancers ever get a job in the industry again, etc. etc. if she doesn't agree. And that is only the beginning of his absolutely crazy ass, psycho stalking, blackmailing, possessive and obsessive hijinks!

There is not a single moment in this book where I liked Blaise. The only positive thing he did (by default mind you) was to shed light on the crappy nature of certain other characters in the book like Landon. I mean this guy, literally tricks her out of her reproductive rights, uses her good will and charity to make her give herself up to protect others, destroys her relationship and that's only the beginning of his plans. What is there to possibly like about this billionaire douchebag???

Then there's if you want to even get into the sex and whether it's non-consensual, dubious consent or just plain rape. This is a guy that takes what he wants. Kaia is 23 where Blaise is 35 or so and whereas Kaia is a dancer just making ends meet, this guy is a billionaire and international businessman so there's also the question of the abuse of power across the whole damn board. I stuck with this book because I wanted to see if anywhere along the line he would start to have normal human feelings of guilt or remorse or see her as an individual human being instead of a possession he had to have and also to see if the cat would make it out of the bag and Kaia would find out the truth behind so many life changes that occur because of his manipulation. I mean this dude truly is a world class manipulator and stalker extraordinaire. Unfortunately, he's quite successful in being the master puppeteer and this book concludes with Kaia right where he wants her. I wouldn't really say there's a cliffhanger as one is aware of what the Danish Douchebag is up to the whole time but there is no way not to go on to read the second one because if there's one sure thing in life it's that eventually what comes around goes around and Man, do I want to see this all come back to hit him smack dab in the face, balls and anywhere else that it can land.

I labeled this under 'romance' because that's what category it's already in but there's nothing damn romantic to me about Blaise. He's literally going to have to atone to the high heavens for me to even believe he deserves the presence of another human being in his life! So as a result, I'm off to book 2.

I must say though, with all of the above, that I do easily fall into 'suspension of disbelief' when reading or watching a movie and as a result, I'm not going to downgrade my rating based on my complete disgust with Blaise. His character is well written and clearly depicted as to who he is, how he operates and his thought process and Kaia's only downfall is her complete humanity. Besides, it helped me vent my anger out on a ficticious guy instead of somebody who really deserves it in my own life so there's always a silver lining somewhere

4 stars ****

Second book and I'm still wondering...

This is my second book by this author. I haven't gotten into her as much as others. Never the less, it's still a book.

So we have Kaia (kyah?)and Blaise. Blaise is a billionaire with a company who is very aggressive with his business and tactics. He is taking care of his sister Aneka. She loves to dance and they see an American dance group to which Blaise lays his eyes upon in Kaia.

I feel like Blaise's obsession for Kaia was born out of nowhere. I know the "love at first sight" thing but this was lust at first sight. Blaise went to creepy delusional lengths to get Kaia. I'm going to say it was rape. She repeatedly told him no on several occasions and writing that "her body was betraying her" does not mean it wasn't rape. Often when people are in sexual contact with one another, things happen that would happen in a normal sexual encounter. You get sexually aroused, and your body is waiting to climax. This girl didn't want to do any of these things. I just found it hard to really believe he loved her and just kept claiming her like a dog.

I have seen crazy alpha males before but I guess this seems odd because he had no build up to her.

There apparently will be a second book. I just feel like this book needs more depth. This read like a simple alpha male romance. Cave man "me want Jane" and Jane " I think I like him.... Sex me to see first".

I'll read the second book.
