This collection was created from my 2017 New Years Resolution. Seeing and hearing various remarks about the new year being "a clean slate" and that "each day is a new page in life write something fresh" inspired me to vow to write a poem everyday. I do write almost everyday so I challenged myself to collect the very first poem, no matter the topic, as the day's offering. No theme was involved, everything was fair game. I wanted to be able to look back and see if perspectives really do change daily. I offer everyone a ride on this poetic rollercoaster, where life changed at the speed of a turned page.

I lived in Avon, NY until I was in college. My family moved to FL and I moved around the eastern US for about 10 years until settling in IN with my husband 17 years ago. We are truck drivers and have seen most of the continental US through work. I have 5 sisters and no brothers. We had one daughter, Jasmine, who passed away and have one granddaughter, Valerie who is now 7. I have written poetry most of my life. I have held many jobs, was a Math Major in college and am a Certified Electronic Technician. I enjoy reading, cooking, taking pictures, and writing.

It's no secret that I am a big fan of Cindy J Smith's poetry...she is extremely talented and real!
365 in my opinion is her best book yet! It has everything love, sadness, sarcasm and humor...there really are so many emotions and I think she touches them all, meaning to or not! What a perfect collection of what is quite possibly her heart and soul. How special are we that she is so willing to share them. I have tried to pick a favorite but there are too many to pick just one!

A Soulful Poetry Collection

Cindy J. Smith bares her heart and soul throughout each of the 365 poems in this collection. By her own admission in “Poetry Is”—“Revelations of truth behind the lies/Hope and love given without restraint/Showing the world yourself without disguise.”

Emanating from her soul, first and foremost, one of her recurring themes is that of a vision for a world filled with humanity and friendship to promote peace and love.

There are painful revelations pertaining to self-doubt, betrayal, love, loss, and the roller coaster of life. There are poignant reminders to make time for family and friends before it’s too late. There are personal reflections about celebrating the simple, yet profound pleasures of holidays minus commercialization.

I highly recommend this soulful offering whereby the poet “puts her heart on paper from feelings scratched in ink”.

Cindy J Smith wrote this collection of poems as a one-a-day project, so my intention in reading it was also one-a-day. Nah, that didn't work out for me. Smith is really a master poet and I couldn't stop myself, I finished it in a couple days. Really, though, as with all of my collection of poetry, I just keep going back and picking up new stuff. I can open this book at any time and find new meanings to fir my own situations. This is what Smith does for me, she writes what I can't even express. She gets in my head, and I have made her a place there. She writes the poetry that I share the most, and I really loved this collection.
