The Where We Began duet instantly grabbed me through the synopsis and the promise of darkness. I love a good dark romance, and this seemed to promise an abundance of darkness – thus, I was more than happy to dive in. Unfortunately, the first book in this duet was not to the level of darkness I like when I read a dark romance – things were all rather tame, yet I was hopeful book two would slip us even deeper into the darkness.

Unfortunately, my feelings towards Where We Ended were much the same as my feelings towards Where We Began. Things were interesting, but they were rather tame compared to what I had been expecting.

If you have not read Where We Began, go back and do so now. Where We Ended picks up where the first book left off, instantly throwing you into the deep of things. The mystery and intrigue has already built up in the first book, and this second one continues while slowly feeding us the answers we desire. With plenty of details touched upon in the first book, there was a lot about this one that kept me turning the pages to see how everything came together in the end.

I did enjoy watching as everything came together with this one, although I wasn’t blown away by it as I had hoped to be. Certain details were predictable, other details seemed to come out of nowhere, and I feel as though a lot tried to happen with this one and not everything was done as well as it could have been. There were plenty of points where my attention started to drift, and despite my interest in seeing how things came together I did question whether I could skim parts of this book and simply hunt down my answers.

Overall, it was an okay ending to a decent duet. I’m glad I read it, but it’s not something I would go out of my way to read again.

This is book two of a duet. As I loved book one Where We Began my expectations were high. I wanted this to flow like one book. I wanted more twists and I wanted a perfect ending. Did I get what I want?? Well let me just say the author exceeded my expectations.

This starts where book one finishes. Laiken finally hears Dominic’s secret but still loves him. Her heart and mind are not saying the same thing. They’ve both been told to stay away from each other but the attraction is strong. Dominic will do everything he can to keep Laiken and her sister safe.

I seriously could not see how this book was gonna go. So many scenarios entered my head. Some great twists that I didn’t see coming had me totally gripped.

I’m so looking forward to reading more from this author. A huge five stars for this duet.

Where We Ended was a fantastic conclusion to a steamy, emotional, and suspenseful duet. With a unique storyline jam packed with angst and secrets, this series is one of Nora Flite's absolute best.

"I want it in your mind all the damn time. I want to be the only thing you can think about."

I finished Where We Began and dove headfirst into this one because, ANSWERS! I needed them badly. Everything was hanging so precariously in the air at the end of the first book and I was anxious to see how things would play out. Laiken was pulled in so many directions emotionally, and I felt my self being pulled apart right along with her. Flite is so talented at writing emotional components within the storyline, making the reader really feel along with the characters. Both Laiken and Dominic were so well-developed, and the supporting characters were multi-faceted and intriguing, each bringing something unique to the storyline. I love that even amid all of the chaos surrounding them, Dominic and Laiken's unbreakable connection was present throughout every moment of the story.

"No matter how frightening or dangerous something is, I'm bigger than it. I'm better than it. The sky could be falling and somehow, I promise...I'd find a way to keep you safe Laiken."

The storyline flowed so well, the suspenseful elements balancing effortlessly with the angst and romance. The way things came to light in Part 2 of this duet was really well done. With secrets layered upon secrets, unpredictable family dynamics, and a blossoming love between two people destined for each other, this story had everything a romance lover could hope for in a book. Nora Flite is a masterful storyteller, and I really look forward to seeing what she has in store for us in the future.

What a wonderful ending to this twisted love. Not only do we see the final to Lakin and Dominic's love story but there is so much more to everyone's story that it will blow your mind.

Lakin is holding on by a thread at this point. Her sister is finally with her. Dominic secret is out and Lakin is trying to wrap her mind around it. But as always, Dominic's family needs her to find her father and will do anything to make it happen.

This is one twisted family and the secrets are deep. I loved it.

The second book of the duet offers a lot more insight for Dominic since there are some chapters from his point of view.

If you thought book one was dark and steamy, you'd better prepare yourself. It gets better.

As the plot develops, most scenes become steamier. The Bradley family is seriously effed up. They do things that are horrendous! But in the end ... well - you'll have to see for yourself!

We get to meet amazing characters again and get a part of their story. And they fit so well into Laiken's and Dominic's story.

Could not put this book down because until I read the last page, I did not know how this was going to end. And let me tell you, that Nora Flite created something amazing here :)

This is book two of Where We Began Duet by Nora Flite. This starts where book one finished off. Laiken heard Dominic’s secret and still loves him. Yet her heart and mind are not saying the same thing which causes Laiken concern. They’ve both been warned to stay far away from one another yet they can’t – so they continue to be around each other because that connection, attraction, chemistry is INTENSE. What I noticed is that Laiken is pulled in many directions emotionally- I felt for her yet I was glued to the story and went along as she was going thru all this angst, drama. Laiken is still kept as hostage in the Bradley home so has no way of escaping from the situation. In Book 2 Dominic has this dark personality and he doesn’t know how to be anything but dark and coldish. While he isn’t trying to be so dark and dominant, he just is. He needs Laiken to accept him as he is. There are so many twists and turns in this story, I had to totally revise my thoughts about everything. This is one dark romance that has it all - angst, suspense, drama, jealously, heartbreak, manipulation, passion, steamy scenes and ultimately true LOVE. If you want to read something that will capture your heart and your mind, this is one duet that definitely will. Get ready for an emotional rollercoaster ride. You will completely not be disappointed.

This is the second book in this duet and it is crucial that you read book one first as this book picks up the story directly from where we were left on a cliffhanger and crucial part in the story.

Laiken learnt Dominic's dark secret and we were left wondering what this would mean for them and if it changed Laikens feelings for him. However, poor Laiken is still hostage in the Bradley home so has no way of escaping from the situation.

Book one left me with so many questions that I was looking for answers to from this final instalment. Things develop quite well but I still felt something was missing from the story and as characters came and went the whole crux of the story from the start just seemed to be lost for me and not adequately addressed. This book tends to deal more with the issues surrounding the warring families than the relationship between the two main characters for me too.

I loved Laiken and despite her situation found her to be a strong developed character. I enjoyed hearing more from Dominic in this instalment and loved his dark persona but loved seeing that he needed Laiken to accept him. The attraction and chemistry between the two was off the charts.

Overall an enjoyable duet that has a hot slightly twisted romance at its heart.

What a great ending to this duet, book 1 had me grippe, and book 2 as exactly the same. So much more information came to light in this book and the emotions and suspense got pulled even more tighter.I am still relatively new to Nora Flite and her writing but of the three books i have read, she deftly weaves in emotions, romance, and a whole lot of suspense into her stores. And let me finally say her male leads are hot, just pointing that out.

Entertaining for sure

Well the conclusion was just as good as book #1. A page turner for sure. I must say, I didn't consider this a dark read, at all. And after I read my books, THEN I read some other reviews, I saw many mention, hot, steamy, etc. I can't figure that one out. The hot factor is very low and doesn't cause any steam what so ever. I enjoyed this very much so that's kind of all that matters, I just needed a~ LOT more hotness.

If you're a fan of stories that are dark, emotional, and steamy with some twists, secrets, angst, drama, suspense, redemption, and hot sex scenes, then you definitely need to read this duet.

Note: You MUST read Where We Began before Where We Ended.

Nora Flite’s Where We Ended was an action packed, twisty turn, sexy scenes, absolutely perfect ending to this duet of Dominic and Laiken’s love story. Dominic thinks Laiken hates his guts but he couldn’t be more wrong. You must read book one before reading Where We Ended to find out how Laiken proves her love. It’s absolutely worth it.

I really enjoyed this duet! There's romance, and some pretty hot sex, but it's mostly suspense and to be honest, that makes me more excited than anything else.

Like I said, there's plenty of suspense. It's great, I couldn't put my kindle down. The only thing I think that could have been drawn out a little bit was the ending with the reunion. I would have liked to see more of that dynamic.

I absolutely love Dominic. He sounds so sexy and he's protective and has saved Laiken many times. He's her guardian angel, for sure.

We learn many secrets in this book and it's as exciting as you'd expect. Nora Flite wrote a really great duet and I would love to have these adorn my shelf in paperback form.

The second half of the duet, Where We Ended covers the questions we had in the first book, ran me through the gamut of emotions, causing me to think then rethink everything about the story. I loved this story, relished in the love the characters shared, even in the face of nasty, hurtful, manipulative people. The heroine is insanely strong, beautifully resilient. I’m so damn glad I read this story. ♥️

Where We Ended is the conclusion of the Where We Began duet and is not a standalone! The story picks up exactly where the other left off, and this book explores more of Dominic's history. Will Laiken be able to forgive Dominic for his actions?

This story explores more of Dominic's side of things, as he has more chapters in his POV than he had in the first book. But like I felt with the first one, I just felt that something was missing. Parts of the story were all over the place, and I didn't feel that the throughline remained for this series from start to finish.

However, Laiken and Dominic certainly have a lot of chemistry, which is kind of what saved this story for me. Overall, I found it just to be okay. I finished the book with too many unanswered questions to have felt like I loved this tale. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

5 Star second part to the sexy romantic suspense that started in Where We Began.

After six years of life in a gilded cage, Laiken is finally reunited with her sister Kara, although it’s not the reunion that she dreamed of. Shaken and confused by Kara’s cold demeanour, Laiken never thought that Kara had been living through a nightmare of her own. Not only that, Kara’s extreme hatred of Dominic means that she is about to rip the rug of Laiken’s feelings for him, from right out under her feet.

In his defeatist way, having hidden a life of suffering and abuse from Laiken, Dominic believes that it is better for her if she hates him, so isn’t about to share his side of any story, and anyway, he should’ve done it before, and now it’s too late.

Even as much as Dominic vowed never to let his parents down again in book one, he is beginning to realise their true natures, that to never let them down, means to absolutely corrupt his soul beyond redemption. In the end, it is Laiken’s absolute belief in her own judgement, and her belief in Dominic’s true nature from their first meeting at 12, that might mean she can help him out from under the depths of his own despair and guilt.

Where We Ended is a beautiful finish to the twisted romantic suspense that started in Where We Began. Nora Flite has written a group of characters who’s lives are shaped and restricted by those who answer only to greed and power, but, they manage to remain strong, and Dominic is a troubled and gorgeous man trying his best to deserve the love he doesn’t believe he should have. Awesome 5 Star read.

After finishing Where We Began, I was on pins and needles waiting for the conclusion of Dominic and Laiken‘s story, and Where We Ended did not disappoint!

Laiken finally knows Dominic’s secret, and as much as it scares her, she’s still drawn to him and needs to know his side of the story. He’s trying to stay away, but at the same time is drawn to her even more now than he was before. Kara is trying to keep them apart, but also trying to keep her distance from Laiken to keep them safe as well. So in other words, it’s all a mess. Laiken is confused, and even more alone than she was when we first met her, and my heart breaks for her throughout this book, but she gets stronger than we’ve ever seen her, and she really does learn to stand on her own two feet and fight for what she wants.

I really loved watching how Dominic and Laiken‘s story played out in this story, and all of the crazy and wild twists and turns we were taken on. Even more things come out that I was not expecting that shook me, and took these characters on a wild ride, and I was really wondering if they would survive, and if they did, if their love would be able to survive.

I won’t go into much details, but I will say, this is a must read duet, especially if you’re looking for a darker romance that is full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing till the end. I adored Laiken and Dominic and I really, really want to see Kara get a HEA one day, as I think she really does deserve it! I encourage everyone to go grab Where We Began and if you’ve read it already, you NEED to read Where We Ended right now!

I couldn't wait to get my hands on the second half of this duet and I was not disappointed in the conclusion. I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. In this book you get more background on Dominic and how Laiken has always fit into his dreams. Since finding out his big secret, as revealed by her sister, Laiken cannot bring herself to hate him. This belief in his goodness drives Dominic to be a better man, although on the outside he seems more driven and selfish than before, and to finally open his eyes to the truth about his parents. Laiken learns to rely more on herself, once she realizes her father is not going to rescue her after all and her sister is so hung up on her hatred for Dominic that she cannot think clearly. Dominic is intent on rescuing Laiken from her captivity, but also from himself when he sees no other way. Theirs is a love that grew from a messed up situation, but flourished b/c they were never willing to let the other go no matter the trials that stood in their way (captivity, guilt and greed). When the story reaches its conclusion there are characters that will not be left standing, but I think that if you give this duet a chance you will love its HEA and fall in love with Laiken and Dominic.

So many secrets and lies

Where We Ended is the second book in the Where We Began duet. After six years, Laiken is reunited with her sister, Kara, but it’s not the reunion she envisioned. Laiken is hurt by Kara’s cold behavior towards her and it has left her confused and distressed. Kara’s hatred for Dominic is evident as she warns Laiken to stay away from him when she reveals the truth about Dominic.

But Laiken draws from her deep feelings for Dominic and the boy he once was. She knows the true nature of Dominic who’s hidden a life of suffering and abuse by the very hands of the people who should have loved him but were incapable of compassion. He knew his parents were corrupt but he vowed he prove his worth in their eyes. In this book, Laiken finds her inner strength, a backbone to confront Dominic’s parents in their twisted dealings. Her belief in him helps bring him out from under his own guilt and despair.

Where We Ended is a great ending to this romantic suspense. It’s filled with drama, angst, and suspense. Ms. Flite draws you right into this intriguing plot with the push/pull of emotional turmoil with which both Laiken and Dominic struggle. Lots of twists and turns in this duet. I received and voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Coming Home
This story picks up right after Where We Began ended.

Laiken’s sister, Kara is back. Laiken’s sacrifice of herself didn’t save her sister from a similar fate. Six years of captivity for both sisters all because of their father. And she thinks she knows Dominic’s past.

Still so many secrets. Secrets about Dominic. Revenge and vengeance consume Annie and Silas. Kara can’t let go of the past hurt. And Laiken is trying to do the right thing to keep the peace and protect her loved ones.

The Bradley empire will be tested. And Annie and Silas will go to great lengths to save the family legacy and their wealth.

Sometimes you have to lose everything to realize what’s important. And for some, losing everything just makes them lose their mind.

This story is Dominic and Laiken’s journey and coming full circle. They have loved each other since they were twelve. Finding their forever won’t be easy. But you can only fight fate so long before it wins. Loving each other and building their own forever was the way it was always meant to be.

Talk about an incredible ending to this intense duet.

When Laiken is speaking you can feel the wilderness, like walking through a forest and breathing the clean air. I am drawn to her fierce determination to fight for what she wants and standing her ground. Regardless of what life has thrown at her, she finds a way to always find the best in each situation.

Dominic... ugh! I get so caught up in him! When I am reminded that he is only 19... NINETEEN! I am floored. He has such an old soul, so in need of the basic desires of the heart... love. Too be loved and needed. He carries the world on his shoulders, and he definitely has the shoulders to do so.

When I think of these two characters, I am always drawn to that scene in the preserve... you know what I'm talking about. Perfect description and setting for these two. The freedom of the forest and the power of the storm, Laiken and Dominic will fill your senses!

Definitely worth a One-Click! Do it!

What a wonderful ending to this duet! Dominic and Laiken both proved that love can conquer all. I fell in love with this couple in the first book and I continued to love them throughout the conclusion. Dominic was to hard on himself and I have a feeling that if it wasn't for Laiken's love he would have gone down with everyone else. I'm glad he was able to redeem himself. I also glad that Kara proved herself to me as I wasn't a big fan of her at the end of the first book. Ms. Flite really knows how to hold your attention and keep you wanting to read on. She had my attention throughout this series and I'm glad I read it. Love Dominic and Laiken forever. *I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book. YAS!
Now that was a stellar second book in a duet that I had been highly anticipating! Woo!
Swiping the pages of this suspenseful, intense beast, it felt like there was a little bit of tension, high voltage heat, chills, and thrills revelations, devotion amongst the madness and the beautiful angst-ridden eat your heart out love into every page.
I could not tear my eyes away from the dark, passion-filled and utterly twisted chaos that was Lakin and Dominic *SIGH*
I was a puddle of feels right along with the characters, as all my burning questions from the first book got answered and the maddening heartbreak between them seemed almost too real.
Gah- that is my kind of story!
Nora Flite rolled out the red carpet of dark, dirty and angsty on this one!

I don't even know where to begin! I love love love Dominic and Laiken. They are an against all odds couple. The odds they face, the challenges and the twists they endure make them one of my favorite couples of all time.

This story is beautifully written. It brings out all the emotions. Love, anger, hatred, sadness, relief and longing all at once. A definite page turner.

Where We Ended picks up where, Where We Began left off. Laiken must face her past, her father's past and Dominic's past. With all those pasts pushing to the surface, Laiken and Dominic find their calm within each other. Outside forces try to keep then apart. Against all the odds they face can they find a way to be together? (That was my question after I finished Where We Began) read this and find out. You won't be disappointed.

Sometimes All You Need Is Goodbye

What an ending!

Dominic and Laiken find themselves on shaky ground. They've become something they shouldn't have, want things that are impossible.

Laiken has become a pawn in a very dangerous game. Family and friends are being used against her, used to lure her in.

Dominic finds himself in unfamiliar territory...he isn't in control. Pressure for family loyalty and a pull to a woman he can never have.

The couple find themselves ensnared and encircled by wolves, very hungry and lethal ones. Enemies, old wounds and promises force the couple to run but in different directions.

The supporting characters were incredible. Loathing, hate and revenge were familiar feelings.

Looking for some angst, dark suspense and heat then give this Duet a try.

Holy WOW Nora Flite!!!

I loved Where We Began and then it left you with questions. Like, did Dominic really kill his cousin? And what is up with Dominic and Kara? And where is Joseph? Well, take a seat and dig right in.

This duet was spectacular. Nora has this way in her writing that makes you love her flawed characters. I absolutely loved Dominic. He was so strong and swoon-worthy. Laiken, for not knowing so much about the outside world, sure did hold her own. She was strong and you just kept rooting for her. And also holding hope that she and Dominic will get their HEA.

This duet has everything and then some.

You MUST read Where We Began before Where We Ended.

After reading part one of Nora Flite’s duet, “Where We Began”, I had a list of questions (& theories) that I needed to be addressed in “Where We Ended”, and Ms. Flite did not disappoint. The characteristics that made Laiken the girl I fell in love with were still there, but she showed more of her fighting nature and steely backbone. Watching her internal struggles to reconcile what people were telling her about Dominic with the man she had come to love was heart wrenching, especially since I had seen the same man she had. I was fully involved in their story, rooting for them to find a way back to each other because I couldn’t imagine any other outcome. This isn’t really the end, however, as I believe I will be drawn back to these characters and this story again and again.

This duet ending was perfect.

This book picks up where Laiken has learned terrible news about Dominic. But now she has to decide if she can truly believe this news. She's always been stubborn and a fighter so as she continues to fight to get her sister and herself free she has to be careful of who sees or hears what's going on.

While trying to gain his parents approval, something his parents can be proud of, Dominic fails. He's supposed to be watching over Laiken's father. He goes back to the estate and enlists Laiken to helping him find clues. But he's also selfish and wants Laiken.

Secrets slowly unravel throughout this book keeping its readers on alert about which one will finally be solved.

Mercy what a book!!🔥🔥❤💙❤

Omg if there ever was a book that deserved more than 5 stars it would be this one or better yet the whole series. Nora is such a gifted talented writer the words she writes have a way of pulling you into her wonderful stories and to feel what the character's feel. This story is the conclusion of Laiken & Dominic and the love they have for each other in the crazy dangerous mess they are involved in. After reading this story I had to just catch my breath for all the twists, the turns & the lies and not to mention that ending. All I can say is if you haven't picked up this book you definitely need to get it and grab the tissues it's going to be a bumpy ride on a emotional rollercoaster. So good.
