I live in a small town in Wisconsin. From my deck, I can see the Mississippi River on one side and the bluffs, where eagles live and nest on the other side. I live with my husband Dave and dog Buddy. My two children are grown and I have two grandchildren. I love to watch people and that has helped me with my writing. I often use people I watch as characters in my books and I always try to give my characters some of my own values and habits.

I love to create characters and put them in a troubling situation then sit back and let them do all the work. My characters surprise even me at times. At some point in the book, they take on a life of their own and the twists and turns they create becomes the story. Of all the stories, I could write I found I like mystery/thrillers the best. I like to keep my readers guessing until the very end of the book.

Yuri and Raven are bbbbaaaaaacccckkkkkkkkkkkk and guess who's pregnant and the partner not too excited in Mikial and Pepper's story? Or so it seems... "Mikial" has even more suspense with boatloads of twists and turns while author, K.J. Dahlen gave insightful background to the origin of how the five blood brothers met, forged allegiances to each other and of course to the Russian Bratva and came to America with Nikoli where he runs the organization in NYC and sending them (Yuri as boss) to NOLA to run the Bratva there.

I am enjoying this series because it's fast-paced and gives a lot of details to the storyline!

Brain cells are dead...

This was such a no brainer. I read it though. Instant love to the hilt. They see a girl that gives someone a strange reaction, she makes instant friends with Raven, gets shot at, goes with strange men to a safe house, has a nightmare, then has her first sex with someone she just met because he makes her feel sooo safe and then they say I love you. OOOOKKKKK! let the fairies and pixie dust carry you away. The ages again are confusing she was found at 4 and it is 18 years after the fire making her 22, but she is referred to as 24. Again the hero is 20 years older then the heroine. Typos galore are present.

Why did I read it? Well I read the first one thought I would read this one. It started off well but just went down the toilet and everything wrapped up in one go.

Okay read

2 Star Kindle Unlimited Read
I liked it okay enough. I'm not sure but the language feels too proper. There just seems to be no reason for the insta love. Plus what up with the female being a virgin and the man making off like he too is a virgin in some way? What's with the laying of claims of a woman with nothing but looks?

All that aside, I love the creative mystery and how everyone is connected one way or another.

This is book 2 in the Bratva Blood Brothers series and I have thoroughly enjoyed them so far. this one is Mikial and Pepper. The way these guys pull together and are there for each other through thick and thin is what I enjoy about the book. That and the love they have for their woman is beyond exciting. It's suspenseful, intriguing, I love that all of the characters are in each book so far which makes the series even better.

ok so I dnf this book, because OMG what kind of story we are fowling here? first is the less than 24h knowing each other they have sex(where the female character give away here v card), and next day the ILY come out and they will be together 4ever.
but to be honest my main issue with this books is that we don't have any background story or even a proper story of the main character!!!! and the name of the book is "Mikial" and not (I just forgot the female name). like come on!!!

Unbelievably Rushed

The storyline was completely rushed and had gaps. It had the potential to be a really good story, but there was absolutely no build up to the romantic notion of the two main characters. It was instant love without any actual satisfaction for the readers to connect to. This ebook is once again only 12% of the actual mob story, the rest is about the MC club. If it wasn’t for the fact that I have kindle unlimited and a curious mind after reading Yuri’s book I would have stopped reading it after the first two chapters.

>Book Review – Mikial
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 2nd in the Bratva Blood Brothers series and ends in an HEA. I was so disappointed in this story. The plot had such great potential. A girl with an unknown past is in danger and under the protection of alpha Russian, Mikial. The sub plot of Raven’s pregnancy was also exciting. Raven’s plot was given a lot of story line in the beginning, but was never developed. There were so many spelling errors that I was annoyed. (Peer instead of pier, Peeper instead of Pepper, ad instead of and, ridicules instead of ridiculous)
>The book had a bunch of action that was never explained. Why was Gunn shooting out windows instead of trying to take a kill shot? How did he get to the penthouse window? There was mention of a hidey hole at the trailer land where Pepper was a child, but no one ever went to check it out. The book ended at 12%. The story was hardly even a novella. I like the premise for this series, but if the content isn’t developed more and the editing isn’t completed, I will not be reading any more in this series. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 2 stars.

Russian Mafia romance

Series. Reads best in order. No cheating. Insta-Love. I was very intrigued by the product description and feel it has the potential to be a great story. In some ways the book failed to deliver on this promise. The heroine Pepper, suffers from TSTL, too stupid to live syndrome. Which would have been fatal for her if not for the hero Mikial. She’s lucky he was willing to keep saving her. Although, Mikial is not infallible. I don’t know if I can allow Mikial my Russian Hottie to take the blame all on his own, his scenes with Flynn, the bad guy, on the back road and the negotiation, were so out of character. No way. Mikial is a bad*ss. I’m calling plot flaw. I’m miffed. I’m insulted on Mikial’s behalf. I’m so smitten with Mikial. He’s so dreamy. I’m going to continue the series with Barshan his brother next.

•••••••••••••

REVIEW: 3.5 stars-- MIKIAL is the second instalment in KJ Dahlen’s contemporary, adult BRATVA BLOOD BROTHERS erotic, Russian Mafia, romance series focusing on a close-knit group of friends, originally from Russia. This is import/export dealer Mikial Bannonkov, and legal researcher Pepper Windjue’s story line. MIKIAL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. The author begins each story with a prequel short story focusing on the history of the ‘brothers’ and how they came to be.

NOTE: MIKIAL is the re-release of the author’s April 2017 IN COLD BLOOD.

SOME BACKGROUND:
Five young boys and childhood friends (Yuri, Sazon, Barshan, Mikial and Roman) survived the mean-streets of Russia only to be rescued and reared by a local gym owner Ivan Russo, who would meet his death by a local gang. Seeking revenge against the gang, local Russian Bratva member and soon to be New York Russian mafia leader Nikoli Silvanic would mentor the five young men until they were ready to take on the world, with the approval of Russian Bratva leader Sergi Constantine. When the time came Nikoli Silvanic would take over the New York territory, while the five ‘blood brothers’ would take over New Orleans.

Told from several third perspectives including Mikial and Pepper MIKIAL follows the quick building romance between import/export businessman Mikial Bannonkov, and legal researcher Pepper Windjue. An art showing at a local gallery owned by the five Russian Bratva brothers brought together some of the elite of New Orleans but Pepper Windjue found herself staring down her future and her past. With a recommendation from a friend Pepper saw what could have been a painting from her life, an exact image of the child she once was but never knew. A mysterious man, a unknown shooter, and an attempt on her life find our heroine under protective custody by the man with whom she would fall in love. Enter Mikial Bannonkov, import/ export businessman, and a man whose own business interests are about to over lap with Pepper’s past. What ensues are the quick building lust to love romance between Pepper and Mikial, and the potential fall –out when Pepper becomes collateral damage in a war between the Russian and Irish mob.

The relationship between Pepper and Mikial is very quick to build. From the attempt on her life into protective custody with the Bratva Brothers, Pepper and Mikial will find themselves falling in bed within hours of meeting, and proclaiming their love in a matter of days. I would have loved a slower build-up to love and a happily ever after. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic, and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. I will add, that in this age of STDs and AIDs, I believe an author has a obligation and duty to promote safer sex, but there is NO mention of condom usage throughout the first two story lines.

All of Mikial’s Bratva Blood Brothers play secondary and supporting characters including the ongoing relationship struggles between Yuri and Raven (Yuri #1). Barshan’s story line is next.

The book description noted for a limited time, the book includes bonus content. At the beginning of the book the author adds that MIKIAL is a full length novel but ends before 100% on the Kindle File…I’d say….the story line ended at 12% with the remaining 88% focusing on the author’s Satan Spawn MC and Sin’s Bastards series, as well as other books by Butterfly Publishing. The first 2 % covered the background and history of the Bratva Brothers, a prequel that is also included in book one Yuri. I was hoping for a longer story line; a more thorough look at the conflict between Mikial and the Irish mob; and the connections to our heroine’s past.

MIKIAL is an easy read; simple in its’ presentation and formula. The premise is entertaining and intriguing; the characters are colorful; the romance is quick, fast and hot. If you are a fan of insta-lust/love then MIKIAL is the perfect read! If you are a fan of the Russian Mafia trope, then the Bratva Blood Brothers series is another chance to enjoy the ride.

Another suspenseful BRATVA novel wrapped around a BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY. Action, erotic ROMANCE at it best!
“MIKAIL” is a wonderful love story that almost gets lost in the one of the most suspense filled novels I’ve read this year. Since this is the second book of the series, some of the characters are familiar and welcomed assistance in solving a very convoluted threat. You can read the blurb to get a better sense of the story, because what this reviewer wants you to know is that “MIKAIL” is so well written, her readers may easily get lost in the story and a become a bit bereft when it ends. As in the first BRATVA BLOOD BROTHERS novel “YURI”, author K.J. Dahlen does a marvelous job or creating characters by letting the reader discover their strengths, faults, and fears. Dahlen does the same thing with her plot, pulling the reader into the world of the BRATVA BLOOD BROTHERS by building empathy with the first chapter review of their beginning. (DON’T skip that chapter because there is new material that becomes important to understanding the character’s reactions later in the book.) However, in this second book of the series Dahlen again builds the most wonderfully good BRATVA “bad guys” that you’ll ever have the pleasure to meet. And it truly is a pleasure to read! In “MIKAIL” the reader gets to experience the brokenness of Mikail and his instant love and protection of Pepper whose life is torn apart by circumstances beyond her control. Their beginning is beautiful but fragile. Mikail becomes Pepper’s ROCK throughout the turmoil and the reader can’t help but root for them to find a permanent relationship as they are so well suited! There is so much conflict surrounding them shortly after they meet, it becomes a question as to whether they will both survive, and if their relationship has a chance to thrive. An ARC copy of “MIKAIL” allowed me to write this honest voluntary review and give you a strong, five-star, must-buy recommendation to purchase your copy of “MIKAIL” today! Happy pages. 😉

This is the second book in the Bratva Blood Brothers series by K.J. Dahlen. This book much like the first one was also repetitive and there were some questions that went unanswered when the book ended. But as I've said before I'm a sucker for a big, Russian, bear mobster who knows his soulmate as soon as he meets her. Mikial Bannonkov was alone living on the streets in Russia as a teenager when he met four boys who would forever become part of his life. If you've read Yuri's book then you should be familiar with Mikial and if you didn't you really should because it will help understand what's going on. All of the "brothers" are Bratva but they also own legitimate businesses in New Orleans as well. Mikial runs a very successful Import/Export business as well as The Muse, a local art gallery. Leon Knight is an attorney who is trying desperately to do business with Mikial but Mikial doesn't trust him. Leon claims to be the trustee for Jessie Carter, an artist that died in a fire over eighteen years ago. The paintings he's in possession of have been in storage all these years but he's finally handed them over to Mikial to display at his gallery. Pepper was four or five years old when she was found scared to death hiding in a box by Officer Paul Windjue. Paul and his wife Marie became foster parents for Pepper when no one claimed her and they treated her like she was theirs. Pepper is now in her last year of college where she's majoring in Digital Photography. She's always loved art but never had the talent to draw and when she was thirteen Paul and Marie gave her a camera and she fell in love. Her roommate Sami (who is an Art major) keeps telling her about a painting at Muse that looks exactly like Pepper only the girl in the painting is a young child. Mikial is instantly drawn to Pepper and he feels the need to protect her although he's not sure from what. Pepper is overwhelmed when she gets to the gallery and meets Mikial and then sees the painting of a little girl who has the same unusual birthmark as her. We also get a bit more of Yuri and Raven in this book and find out she's pregnant. Although Raven is ready to bolt when Yuri doesn't have the reaction she was expecting when hearing the news.

Loyalty, Honor, and Steel🔪🔫

The book begins where the Bratva Blood Brothers💝 originally form their bonds, in the unforgiving streets of Moscow in winter. They are all youngsters, around 12 years old and the five group together to protect themselves from street gangs of other homeless kids.

Four years later, they are all under the tutelage of old Ivan, learning to be men, learning to fight👊🔪🔫, to be deadly. When Ivan👴 is killed by a street gang while they are gone one 🌙night, their hearts💔 are hardened. They have grown up fast.
The young men take their revenge on Ivan's killers, drawing the attention of Nikoli Silvanic🐺, a Bratva boss. Their training to be protectors, fighters👊 and killers🔪🔫 begins in earnest.

A few years later, Nikoli🐺 takes all five to meet the big boss of the Bratva, Sergei🐺.
Sergei🐺, sends the men to the U.S., to NYC, then on to New Orleans, to force out the Ukrainian mob there.

Pepper💋💃 lives in New Orleans, a friend says she should go to a local art gallery, because there is a painting there that has a figure of a child in it looks exactly like her! The artist is dead.
When Pepper gets there, she sees a man, Leon standing in front of the gallery. He seems familiar but he scares her. Leon is also scared when he sees her! What is going on?

Around Leon are big men, three of them very tall. Mikial🐺👊🔪🔫 is one of those men, he is one of the Bratva Blood Brothers💝, and he owns the Art gallery.

How does Pepper💋💃 know Leon, the man at the gallery? Mikial🐺👊🔪🔫 sees Pepper💋💃, and is drawn to her, but she turns away and leaves. He follows her to a ☕coffee house........

ARC Received for a Voluntary and Honest Review.
I also bought the book with KU.
I enjoyed the first book, Yuri🐺👊🔪🔫, very much. This book takes more time to get into, but is mostly well written and very interesting.

There are some additional stories included, from the Author's Satan's Spawn MC series

YOU BETTER BRING BACK UP!!!
Ok guys sit back take your shoes off, make sure you get a drink. This is a fast paced, easy to follow, well written and man are you in for the ride of your life. Fast talking, steaming hot, eyes locked and electricity shot through their whole bodies. Yeah, I'm not talking about a power line. Chemistry so hot, a bond so strong and that's just the beginning. You're captivated from the first sentence. Your attention is totally focused on all the twists and turns and unexpected surprises that seem to shoot out of every crack. Action packed, heated scenes so realistic you feel the breeze off the bullet that just past. You are hanging on to anything to ground yourself to find some sanity still there. You can't help but feel a kinship to these characters as you start to understand their personalities that transforms the relationship. Hard and fast rules. You got their back and they've got yours. So sweaty, hot sultry scenes that hit it hard and on the edge. I have to really admire KJ cause this is so straight up its like living it. KJ brought this straight from hell to life so smooth and seemless and just that good.

Corto, y final feliz.

Pepper doesn't know who is she, where she came from, or anything else. Her roommate tells her to to go to art exhibit cause a painting looks like her. On her way there she has a feeling of dread and she turns and goes to the coffee shop. Mikial outaide with a colleague sees her and how she is acting and sends his brother Brashan to follow her whemnhe joins her so does Raven and she tells him something but not tell Yuri yet. When she goes into the coffee her and Pepper have a conversation and than they go to art gallery and when Pepper sees the painting and from there her world gets turned upside down. After they call in back up and Yuri knows Raven's secret does he make a big mistake. When they get the girls to safety they have to dig over 18 years in the past to find the truth about Pepper's past and who her parents really are. Will they dig out truth? Are Pepper and Mikial meant to be? Will Raven and Yuri forgive each other? Will they lose one of their own? Again another emotional, heart stopping action, steam, and another mystery to be solved. An amazing read and I can't wait for the next.

“Mikial” is the second book in the Bratva Blood Brothers series and just as amazing as the first. The characters are well-developed and the story itself is incredible. Mikial is one of five homeless young boys who met each other and grew up together in Russia. They are not blood related but closer than true brothers. Now in America, they are billionaires and still very much together. Pepper is at an art gallery owned by the brothers when someone starts shooting. Mikial happens to be standing by Pepper at the time and prevents her from getting shot. Pepper has no memory of her childhood but this incident seems to be connected to her in some way. The chemistry between Pepper and Mikial is off the charts hot and Mikial offers to help and protect her. “Mikial” is a wonderfully written book filled with nonstop action, mystery, suspense, secrets, incredible sex and romance. Thrilling story! Incredible characters! A MUST READ.

****I voluntarily received an Advance Review Copy of this book in exchange for my honest review****
Mikial is one of the Bratva organization brother with a deep disastrous childhood yet he grew up with the desire to help others. He had settle down in America as an Import and Export business and owner of an art gallery. He is displaying art by a deceased artist provided by a crooked attorney, Leon Knight. Pepper Windjue works at a law firm doing research. She have no childhood memories because she was adopted. Pepper was told by her roommate of a portrait display that resembles her in Mikial’s gallery window. As she gets closer to visiting the art gallery Pepper sees Leon and becomes spooked. The story entails many twists and turns while holding my attention with mysterious actions of several character. Mikial is a great alpha male and protective of Pepper after hearing her ordeal and I loved it. It was an exciting, intense, and well written storyline that flows smoothly. I’m looking forward to reading about the next brother. This is definitely a must read!

This book rocks. It just gets better as it goes along.
Mikial and Pepper meet with help of Raven. They find out that Pepper has a block on her memories from seeing her mother killed and her father trying to hurt her.
Long story short she starts to remember and her and Mikial fall in love.
Mikial helps her find out that she the daughter of a well known painter and that she is wealthy. That’s why her father told people that her mother killed her and then committed suicide. Her father and his wife’s relative decided to rob her of her money. In the meantime they were also trying to get Mikial to let them bring in a shipment from Europe thur his Import Export business. They were told no and then tried to blackmail him into helping them. Big mistake you do not mess with the family. They paid the price

This is the second book in the Bratva Blood Brothers Series (and there's also a prequel). I really enjoyed Yuri, the first book, and was excited to see that the characters and their relationship continue past their own book. Pepper is in Mikial's art gallery with Yuri's partner Raven when shots are fired through the glass window. No one knows who the shots are meant for, so the two women are taken to a safe place. As in Yuri, familial mysteries are solved amidst a backdrop of Bratva action and danger. It's got some insta-connection, alpha male protectiveness going on. I liked Mikial, and we have seen more of his character via the Prequel and Yuri, and I would like to see more of Pepper's character in upcoming books, now that know her history.

I received an arc of this book and have voluntarily reviewed it.

I enjoyed the first of this Brava series and Mikial's story did not fit appoint.
I enjoyed getting the back history of the Brava men.
Pepper is a strong woman who has had heartache as a child but was saved by a police officer and his wife. While her life got better after loosing her mom, she still had nightmares about what happened.
When Mikial and Pepper meet there is ano attraction.
When one of the Brava choose you as their own you get all of them.
There are twist and turns in the story and you get to see how the characters from the first book are doing.
I think the only negative for me is how quickly these girls give themselves to these older men. I know they are powerful alphas but Pepper has been very guarded her entire life but in less then a night gives it up.
I was given this book for an honest voluntary review.

Mikail is the 2nd book in the Bratva Blood Brothers series, I’ve never been a fan of Russian Mafia/ mob books but this series has seriously changed my mind. At the beginning of this book there is a prequel to all of the boys and how they became the Bratva Blood Brothers. Mikail owns an art gallery he is standing outside with a friend when he spots Pepper but she runs away, Pepper’s friend tells her to go to an art gallery because there is a picture there that looks just like her, Pepper doesnt have any memory of when she was younger because for some reason she has blocked it out. Wow what a great read I loved the intensity and the attraction between Pepper and Mikail it was pretty hot. I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Keep your enemies closer

Pepper finds herself smack dab in the middle of a situation involving the Bratva that finally gives her answers to life long questions. Mikial is drawn to Pepper when he sees her outside of a gallery showing. It's the reactions of people around him concerning her appearance that has him digging deeper. K.J. Dahlen continues the series of these brothers not of blood but of life. The intrigue of action keeps you grasping for answers. As a bonus the 3 book series of her Satan's Spawns was included. These bad-ass bikers play hard, fight hard, and love even harder. This series was a rollercoaster of twists and turns and had me on the edge of my seat from the very first page.

The author develops a fairly decent plot, but spends little to no time developing the characters or trying to explain their motivations. I often found myself wondering why the characters were making the crazy decisions they were.

However, the big problems with this book were the "tell not show" writing and the repetition. Something would happen, and then a character would tell another character about it, and then that character would describe the same events using the same words again to a different character. Over and over this happens. I found myself skimming most of these retellings, which made up at least 1/3 of the book.

The book is fairly short, and I think I would recommend the next reader just skip it.

A well written fast paced story with great storyline and plot. It surprised me in the best way.
The characters are well described and develops nicely through the story. They are likeable.
A great mafia book with all in it. It has drama, action, hot scenes, toughness and twists that makes you on the edge and keep on reading.
The main characters have a chemistry between them that is over the top. This is due to the use of words. You almost feel like you are there with the characters. It keeps surprising you with all the drama and actions. The twists just keeps coming when not expected.
I can only recommend this mafia romance.

I loved Mikial and Pepper's story. I did somehow miss this one when it came out, but I read it in the awesome Bratva Blood Brothers collections series. A brotherhood that stands the test of time, Mikial is a man that any woman would want there for her. Loaded with lots of action, suspense, hot sexy scenes, and love with a HEA. It is a standalone as is all of the books of the series, and can be read in any order. No matter in which order you read them, you won't be disappointed. I was gifted the Bratva Blood Brothers: The Complete Series: A Russian Mafia Romance Collection. My opinion is my own. This is mine. 5 Stars!
