Mom of two rockin' girls, Reader of everything, Author of The Dragon Guards series and many more surprises to come!

I am a sarcastic, sometimes foul-mouthed, not afraid to drink a beer, always southern woman with 2 of the most amazing teenage daughters,
a menagerie of animals and a voracious appetite for reading who recently decided to write the storied running through her brain. I read my first book, Dr Suess' Cat in The Hat by myself at 4 and was hooked.
I believe a good book along with shoes, makeup and purses will never let a girl down and that all heroes of all the books
I have ever read or will ever write pale in comparison to my daddy! I am a sucker for a happy ending and love some hot sweaty sex with a healthy dose of romance.
I am still working on my story but believe it will contain all of the above with as much SPICE as I can work into it. CHEERS!

Oh my goodness, Ms Mills keeps this series fresh with diversities and additions that benefit this series so much.
Ms Mills has given us something extraordinary in the Dragon Guards series with this spin off about even more outrageously hot Dragon Guard shifters with just that bit more to them.
The Berserkers have been missing after being attacked over a hundred years ago, now they are being found and watchout everyone. Women berserkers to look forward to as well.
This is going to be in my top 3 of the Dragon Guards series books. It made me laugh and made me cry plus has the added bonus of bringing back one of the missing dragon guards, Banning, the leader of the Berserker Force and also introduce a new clan of Dragons we have not heard of before.
It is a slightly different take on the Dragon Guards but at the same time exactly the same group that we love but with so much more added to this series through this book.
Banning was rash in his youth, believing himself to be invincible. He has paid the price for his pride, being as he was cursed and has spent the last few centuries as a dragon statue in a fountain.
Banning is a Warrior Dragon, I am not saying more or it will spoil it but read this book to get one hell of a diverse, new and special Dragon Guard.
Our heroine Myanna/Mimi, is a very nice young woman who has been taking care of her dying mother whilst holding down a job as a psychiatrist at a prison. Myanna is one hell of a strong and likeable character with no flaws that I perceived.
What happens to her in the prison was awful.
The introduction of the Nantonka Bear Clan (which I hope will be a series all on its own) as saviours was very much fun.
Heart wrenching emotions abound in this story as well as humour and love.
Loved the JD Robb reference too.
Love the short epilogue with Nowell and Chance and their mates and the teaser for Asher. Cannot wait.
This is my honest opinion of this book kindly given by Ms Mills.

This was first published on my blog " Lecture toute une Aventure"

Perfect! Really i couldn't have been happier with this book than i am....i love dragons and Banning is really a great one ...even better villains get what they deserve so this story is moving because both Banning and his mate to be Mimi suffered quite a lot and we really want they happiness, it's very steamy too but also violent with some scenes quite gore and it fit perfectly ( i mean he is a dragon he won't just throw a punch) so it didn't bothered me at all as i was cheering for Banning

I loved that there were other shifters and how they came to help and forge new bonds but this story is the first of a series so we still have a lot to discover like where are the other dragons...and what happened during all teh time Banning was a statue.

So this is really a series i hope to continue as it was really great, i do hope to see more of Banning and Mimi!) but it's sure not recommended for those under 18 or not liking steamy or violence but if you don't mind ( especially when it's justice) and want a great paranormal romance i recommend you to try this one

I was given an ARC for my honest review. Ms. Mills has started a new dragon series dealing with berserkers and this is a dandy beginning. Banning is king of the Lunar-White Dragons but because he had recklessly pissed off a wizened old witch (she had cursed him) he now found himself a gargoyle statue looking out over a water fountain. "His giant ego, fed by his own aspirations of glory, had not only led to his downfall, but that of his Clan." Thus sets in motion start of this series. His own salvation rests in finding his mate. The only one who can save him from his endless predicament. Ms. Mills has woven a fantastic story of two people who meet in their dreams and eventually come face to face. Myanna is such a strong woman with a backbone fit for a berserker's mate but she has a giddy refreshing innocence surrounding her. She has suffered much with the loss of her mother. She seeks solace in her special place mentally and verbally talking about her loneliness with the dragon statue that for some reason she feels a special connection to. Between these two a friendship is developed and the powerful force of love is discovered.

Too short and has no depth

I generally like this writer but this read, although super short, was very disappointing. There was absolutely no depth in the storyline, plot or even with the characters. Definitely not one I'd recommend.

I think the beginning was pretty cool, with the whole back history on Banning and the witch's curse. I thought the witches found was a nice touch. It was really starting to get in the story… Then the incident at the prison happened. And that would've been cool. Don't I say too much about those instances spoilers and all. But I sort of lost interest in the story after that because it became a little ridiculous. I mean come on, girl goes through big ordeal. Get saved by Dragon which that's pretty cool yes. And then without even blinking an eye she's making out with a total stranger after seeing a strange mythological creature. In my personal opinion at this point is where the story starts to become a little, tried call it what you will the Cinderella's scenario it sort of lost my interests. Yes I know it's a fantasy book but realistically you suffered trauma you wake up and some dude you been dreaming about his standing in the middle your living room you just going to randomly suck face with them? Or, more possibly. I don't know it's lost its appeal to me a little more after that.

A Great Beginning

A great beginning to another part of the Dragon Guard series. A Berserker trapped in bronze until his "one" declares her love for him. How is Banning supposed to meet her while encased in metal until a lunar eclipse releases him for the night? Because one night is all he gets. Or is it?

This is another fun dragon guard romance, and I liked both Banning and Myanna. This book, though, is much like the original Dragon Guard series -- the stories are very similar and quite repetitive. Many of the scenes, especially the love scenes and the mating rituals, are nearly identical in each book. I think the author copies them, with only a few changes, and reuses them in each book. Another complaint is that the dragon guard world has grown a bit confusing. There are so many paranormal characters now, and their powers and characteristics are often not well described.

This book was also a little more violent than I like. I get that Banning needed to rescue Myanna, and also stop his traitorous brother from hurting anyone else -- but I would have preferred for the violence to be less descriptive and detailed.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Bannon and Myanna

Myanmar/Mimi is a psychiatrist at a prison. Her mother is dying but the doctors can't help. She is now only alive because of the machines. Her father has been dead since she was six. She feels like her life is falling apart. She goes to the fountain with the dragon statue that is in the park . She wishes that her mother will be healed because she doesn't want to lose her only family.
Banning is the dragon on the fountain. He was cursed by an evil witch over two hundred years ago. He is coated in bronze in his dragon form always except on nights of the eclipse then he can take human form until dawn comes. The last eclipse was fifty years ago.
Banning takes his human form three days after Mimi's wish. He follows her scent to her home to try to use his dragon magic on her mom, but he is too late. Eventhough he used his magic to hide when the EMTs arrived, one of them saw him because he was a bear shifter.
This book shows Mimi falling for Bannon in a dream before she even met him. He ends up having to rescue her when trouble comes. This is similar to the Dragon Guard books except these dragons have a Berserker side.

Dragon Guard Berserkers are a kinda series in a series. These stories revolve around some long forgotten warriors, who are now about to drop into the modern world.

Banning thought he had found meaning to his life, but when he came up against a strong witch, she cursed him and he now only comes to life for a short period of time before he must return to adorning a fountain.

Myanna/Mimi loves coming to the fountain and "talking" to her dragon confidante. She has a lot on her plate including looking after her ill mother and a job as a psychiatrist at a local prison. But comes to life once more and realises that Mimi is in trouble. he drops from the sky like a vengeful god to save her!

The Nantonka Bear Clan are also introduced help to reverse the curse laid upon Banning eventually.
Great meeting up with some of Banning's relatives and the Dragon Guard mates. Great book.

Banning MacCallion is a powerful Dragon Guardsmen and is next in line to rule the Lunar-White Dragons. Unfortunately he walked into an evil witches trap and was cursed to a living death - trapped in a Bronze Statue. He only becomes human when there's a Blood Moon and only lasts until dawn the next day when he turns back into the Bronze Dragon Statue.
Myanna Havers has been going to the Bronze Dragon Statue pool for a long time and she considers him hers. Her mother is dying-no one can find a reason or cure to save her. Of course Myanna goes to her Bronze Dragon Statue for solace and help. What comes after is one heck of a story!
There's suspense, action, an emotional roller-coaster, magic and romance. This is a captivating story from beginning to end with wonderful characters and I loved

Dragon Guard Berserker Banning was changed into a statue on a fountain in a park and only has limited times when he can have released from that state. However, one fateful day he meets his mate Myanna(Mimi) when she tosses a coin into the fountain and makes a wish for her mother to be cured. Can he make contact with his mate now that his dragon is awoken and when events take a turn can he saves his mate which will, in turn, save him? Will fate be denied or prevail again this time?

This is a story full of danger, drama and excitement. Well written and very enjoyable this was an easy to read story that definitely drew you in and made you want these two people to find their HEA. Contains some violent and sexual scenes.

Very Good!

This book had me hooked from the 1st page & I didn’t want to stop until I finished reading it.

Banning was cursed by an evil witch & lived his life out as a bronze statue; that is until Myanna came along.

Myanna, went to the dragon statue/fountain to make a wish, that didn’t come true. But, she kept coming back to talk about her day or her woes to the statue like she felt some kind of pull. Then 4 days in a row she didn’t come & not because she didn’t want to but because she was being held hostage.

With the help of some new friends Banning was able to be freed of his curse & go save his mate.

But, now you’ll have to read the book to find out how that happened & if he does indeed save his mate, Myanna.

The wishing dragon

Two hundred years ago, an old crone cursed an egotistical Dragon warrior prince and turned him into a bronze statue. Now, in our time, a young psychiatrist who works a the local prison stops at the pool of the bronze dragon to make a wish for the recovery of her critically ill mother. The dragon's heart is touched, but more, he recognizes her as his mate.
This KU library selection takes a turn I didn't expect. The storyline was creative, the setting was adequate, and the characters were two dimensional. Overall, it was a good read and I would read more from the series.

Banning and Mimi

Once again Julia has taken us to the world of the Dragon Guard where Destiny cannot be denied and her Dragon shifters can be rescued by beautiful magical women. This book features Banning one of the commanders of the Dragon Guard Berserkers who has been trapped by magic for years as a statue and Mimi the woman who awakens the dragon’s senses when she comes to throw a coin into the fountain his statue is located at. He wishes to find the one woman who can release him permanently from his curse and she wishes for a cure for her mother. Can these two people overcome the obstacles that they must face and be together?

Banning is stuck in a prison that his own stubbornness made. Mimi just wants to save her mother. One fountain brings them together. Will Mimi be able to stick with the faith in the dragon? Will Banning make it before it is to late?

Just like the other Julia Mills Dragon Books. I loved this one! You get Banning who has been stuck as a statue and Mimi who just wants to believe in the stories her mother told her. Loved how both were determined to follow through even if at times they questioned things. Good read

Another Great Story

Banning is trapped, frozen in his Dragon form, for hundreds of years. He has little hope until a young woman comes by and whispers her greatest wish to the Dragon fountain. There starts the story of Bannon's release and meeting his true mate. Sounds simple in my synopsis, but actually there are multiple sub-plots going on and a great new character, Beau, who I hope shows up again. This is the first in an offshoot of the Dragon Guard series. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

Where's my bronze statue?!

I have been reading Julia Mills for quite some time. I am quite fond for her Dragon Guard series, so I had to give this one a try. Mimi is an interesting character, she certainly has the fortitude to be a mate. Banning must have had a very lonely life being a statue for most of his many years. This book has a magical meeting and a superior will to survive. This is a well written story with magic, dragons and a HEA. I am excited to read about Asher next!

Absolutely wonderful

The heartbreak of loss and unwavering belief in her mother causes Myanna to become devoted to her dragon statue. Unbeknownst to her that it is the man she has been dreaming of for months. A hazard of her job causes him to find a way to escape from his tomb, so that she can saved. Their love and her acceptance of all that he is, gives them their chance at happiness. Frustration was a mutual feeling for me and Banning, I thought he'd never be free lol. This was just an amazing read, just as all the others have been. On to the next one...

The sun glistened off the rippling water in the fountain and cast a shadow over the face of the dragon statue standing guard in the center.”
Banning by Julia Mills is a spectacular, action-filled, edge-of-your-seat story set in the world of Julia’s Dragon Guards. With a beautiful, fierce heroine and a cursed but ever valiant and loyal Dragon King, this story defies the reader to put it down. You simply can’t.

INTERESTING SERIES, BUT BECAME REPETITIVE AFTER A FEW BOOKS
After reading a few of these, I decided to write one review for all of them. I found these books to be pretty good, if somewhat formulaic. If a reader is looking for a good story with some drama & where the main characters go through some terrible things, but ultimately end up together, I think they will enjoy this series of books. It is sometimes nice to read a "happily ever after" story.

Banning

Myanna pleaded with the bronze statue to cure her mum.
Dragon statue looked down upon this beautiful woman
And whispered mine.
Beautiful story of love and what we're willing to do for those we love.
There is also terror, and fear of losing the one you love.
Plus an old curse placed on the dragon statue. 👍

Every woman's dream

Asher is the kind of man we would all like to have in our life. Of course he and Mimi have their trials and tribulations, but the book would be no good without them. I won't tell you more because you need to read the book. It's a nice fantasy and deserves a 5 star rating at least so you can dream about it in your own dreams.

Another clan of dragons found

I enjoyed the back story.
I liked that she is smart and caring.
I like that he is willing to give up his existence for her even though he expects her to never know.
I wish there were more detail on her family history, although I am guessing that comes later in the series.

Lovely read!!!

This is more novella length, so it can be read in about two hours. Banning has been cursed until his One can save him. Mimi makes a wish in a well where she begins telling the Dragon statue all about her life. Well written, action, a little smattering of horror (not scary, promise), and some steam. Dragon shifters and grizzly shifters!!!!
