Terra Materson knew moving to Atchison College would take some getting used to. But she didn’t expect to discover she had the spirit of an ancient goddess inside her.

It’s a lot to process. Not to mention the four overprotective guys who have made it their mission to take Terra under their wing. But as her connection to Ross, Cael, Endo, and Sol intensifies, so too does her need for the truth.

Her protectors want to keep her safe. The witches need her power. And her new friends just want her to live a little. But as her hidden memories slowly return, Terra is left questioning who she can trust. Because with magic in the air, anyone could be an enemy and nothing may be as it seems...

(Edit: I may have to bump this to 3.5 stars, because I found myself still stuck in the mood and thoughts the book evoked, even hours after finishing. And then went back and read it a second time. That indicates to me it was something more than the sum of its parts.)

This second book in THE GAIA CHRONICLES was significantly better than the first. By the end, I was quite enjoying it.

Overall, it has a tender and sweet 'feel-good' quality about it. Despite the tension and the occasional frustrations, it is somehow gentle. Perhaps it is just my mood, and reading late at night/early morning, but it has left me feeling a little... dreamy.

Positives:

+ Terra is starting to figure things out. Sure she is still scared, still a little timid and wispy, but she is discovering her strength. Connecting with Gaia. Finding her determination to save Earth.

+ The guys are starting to connect with Terra, let her in a little. And they are interesting characters. Of course, I am most drawn to Ross. Sol maybe second (hard for me to resist a stoic bad boy type who is resistant to the connection!). But there is no denying that Cael and Endo are incredibly sweet.

+ The first love scenes were handled beautifully by the author. There is certainly heat - and sexual tension - building throughout the book. And as Terra starts to explore, I really felt the underlying emotion (plenty of feels!). The scenes were also quite tender and lovely. Explicit, but not crude in any way.

+ The story is starting to build, and it is intriguing.

+ I am really excited for Terra's relationship with all four guys to develop.

Negatives:

- There are some cliché moments and the story certainly borrows heavily from some well-worn tropes of the RH genre.

- Terra still makes some silly choices and it can be quite frustrating at times. I wish she would grow and change a little faster. (She is also a bit of a Special Snowflake/Mary Sue)

- There are some word usage issues and awkward language, especially in the second half of the book. A stronger line edit is needed. (In particular, if I saw someone "looking at her with reverie" one more time, I might have been tempted to throw my Kindle across the room. It's "reverence" dammit!)

- I find the choice of setting (college) to be a little strange given the fundamental issues in this plot. I suppose it makes sense as the best way for them to all meet, but the going to classes still feels very... useless? Unimportant?

- Perhaps it is the gentleness I somehow sense as I read this series, but there is a bit of a YA feel, despite everyone being 19+ and in college. Maybe it is just Terra's complete innocence and naivete.

- The social message can still be a little preachy, but it was slightly less heavy-handed than in book 1.

All in all, once I got past the first third or so, I found myself really enjoying this book. The series may be well worth it when all is said and done. Now to wait until June for the third book to be released!

UPDATE PROGRESS NOTES:
72.0% "I am getting sick of the "looking at her with reverie"...that word doesn't mean what you think it does. *sigh* And the author keeps repeating it :/ (reverence!! reverence dammit)"

71.0% "LMAO. Really!?
“An Asodomi. A demon of lust.” His hand brushes over my forehead and down my cheek, his thumb dragging over my lip. Lingering. It feels good—too good. “It has to be sated, or you’ll lose yourself to the agony.”
59.0% "Three inches taller? Weird...either she is really tall or they aren't. Not something I expected."

55.0% "Preach preach preach :("

52.0% "Sigh....stupid stupid stupid. But what else is new?"

41.0% "Why do people, stuck in the dark and scared, call out "Hello? Hello? Is anyone there?" all the time? It is the stupidest thing ever. It will only give away your location and attract the bad things to you. Stay silent and listen instead you fool!"

28.0% "You know these books that are somehow written so you spend the entire time you are reading waiting for some disaster to happen...for the other shoe to drop? Because for some reason, be it heavy-handed foreshadowing or something else, you know it's coming and the MC is completely clueless - is, in fact, doing everything in her power to make it happen without knowing. *sigh*"

16.0% "I swear, if one more MC starts babbling about "I need space to figure out" something, I'm gonna scream. What the hell do they think they are going to figure out just muddling around on their own? Especially when there are people right beside them trying to HELP them figure things out. (Sometimes who actually already have the answers!) Grrr"

Coveted begins where book one, Cursed, left off and cannot be read as a standalone.

Terra Materson has a lot to deal with. She’s 19 years old and in her freshman year at college . . .and happens to have the spirit of the ancient goddess Gaia residing inside her. It’s quite an adjustment and she’s struggling to balance her independence and life as a normal college student with the supernatural powers growing within her each day.

As her powers grow so does the threat against her. It’s pure evil and is following Terra about campus, which causes her protectors, Ross, Cael, Endo and Sol to hover even more. The more time they spend together, the more their connection and attraction grow. She also has a coven of witches tapping in to her powers to strengthen their own magic.

Terra isn’t sure who to trust anymore. With Gaia’s memories returning and her own powers growing, Terra is being pulled in many directions and is no longer able to tell who is friend or foe. Trusts will be tested and broken, passions begin to soar and Terra is stalked by an evil the guys can’t feel and she can’t see. Will they be able to keep Terra safe from harm while giving her the time and space she needs to integrate all of Gaia’s thoughts and powers? And, will Ross, Cael, Endo and Sol be able to have from Terra what they couldn’t from Gaia while in Elysia? Only time will tell.

Grace White has me completely hooked on the Gaia Chronicles. I love Terra and the struggles she is facing that are causing her to grow and blossom. While she shares her past with Gaia, she really is just a 19 year old trying to figure out life on her own for the first time. She’s independent and intelligent and I really loved watching her explore her new powers. I also enjoyed watching her with each one of the guys as all of their relationships deepened in this book.

Each of her guys brings something totally different to Terra and they all long for her. They are pushing boundaries with her personally they couldn’t before when she had been a goddess and they are also struggling with doing their duty and doing the right thing for Terra as well. She needs them just as much as they need her.

I feel like I am right there with Terra trying to figure out what is hunting her as well as who she can trust. The Grace White lets us know not all is as it seems, and not everyone is who you think they are, but deciphering who can and cannot be trusted is still out for debate.

This book was a fantastic edition to the series and really helps build up the plot in so many ways. I’m left wanting more. More of the guys with Terra. More of Terra discovering the extent of her powers. More of trying to find out who is and isn’t a threat and just what battle is coming . . . as it’s been teased that whatever it is, it’s big! Bring it on, Grace White! I can’t wait! 5 stars.

Terra Materson. Gaia. Who exactly is she? Is she one or both? Terra's life has been rocked. She always knew she was different but a fallen goddess trying to save Earth? There's a great darkness approaching but what? Terra can feel the evil. And how can she stop it if she can't control her powers? The witches seem to be the answer but can she trust them or do they only want her power? And then there are her guards, Ross, Cael, Endo, and Sol. There is an undeniable connection but what does it mean? They want to protect her but they keep so many secrets from her. They seem attracted to her but then they keep her at a distance. She needs them, all of them. She needs answers, she needs control, she needs power, and she needs them fast if she has a chance to save her beloved Earth.

Terra starts to come into her own a little in this book. She has moments of clarity and backbone but she is still overwhelmed much of the time. She also is anxious and impetuous when it comes to her magic use so that her body suffers (headaches, fainting, nausea). She also gets magically attacked several times also stressing out her body. I will be glad when she moves away from this weakness. I would like her to be more forceful, demanding with the guys. Still, there is some progress. She did show enormous potential power. Her progress with the guys is equally uneven. I think this is wonderful; realistic and distinctive. I LOVE when they can't control Terra. When they find her amusing, when she awes them or takes charge, I love their reactions! She has a true intensifying connection with Cael and Endo. They are both more open about their feelings and desires and are better at showing Terra who she is to them. I love her with both of these guys, especially Cael but I still have a few lingering questions about Cael and Violet. I wasn't entirely satisfied with what we learned about him and Violet; it still doesn't feel right. She makes a little progress with Ross but he has secrets. I'm very worried about how they could hurt Terra. And it's official. I am not a fan of Sol! I like moody, reluctant males; he is verging on cruel. He's angry, fearful and he's reacting immaturely. His comments are designed to hurt and whatever he feels that he's doing to protect Terra, that's not the way to accomplish it. I also do not like the witches. Not one of them, male or female, they do not even warrant singling out. I do not trust them, I do not like them as people. Enough said.

There were several successful points to this book. The opening chapter was foreboding and intriguing. It gives a tantalizing hint of the nature of the danger but not enough to figure out who we should fear. The brushes with evil increased the sense of danger. Terra's dreams/memories. This is a great way to include backstory and add much-needed information. The guy's POVs. I loved them. I actually believe the book is more effective when we are in the guy's thoughts. Maybe because they have more information and are working from a broader perspective. I look forward to Terra maturing more in the next book so that she is on more even footing. I believe as she grows, becomes more 'whole' the book will become more intense. I can't wait!

Things are hotting up in this 4.5 star read....

I am really becoming obsessed by this young adult, paranormal reverse harem story...this is a classic story of good versus evil, and the power of love and the sacrifices that are made in its name....at its centre is a slow burning romance with Terra and her four protectors; although things certainly do hot up in this book....now that the introductions have been made the plot is beginning to pick up and more and more secrets are being revealed; in particular, through the device of Terra’s dreams, the reader is drip fed snippets from the past that resonate in the present and for the future....

The author expertly creates shades of light and dark there is some tantalising foreshadowing of a menacing voyeur, right from the start, bent on revenge and the destruction of Terra and her guys....Ross, Cael, Sol and Endo I love that each of them has a distinct personality and the gradual reveal of past hurts, misunderstandings and secrets makes them all the more intriguing and real.... I am not too sure if I am supposed to have a favourite..I certainly don’t want Terra to choose...but there is something attractive about a brooding, strong male and Sol is that in full measure.... I always imagined it would be magical to be treated like a goddess by a man, or men for that matter, but the reality for Terra is not quite as liberating or perfect....

This is a carefully constructed alternative universe; an epic story in which the characters experience a myriad of feelings switching from fear and anger to joy, laughter and happiness in a heartbeat; another cliffhanger left me excited to continue the journey...4.5 star read....I received an advanced copy of this book from the author..

I'm a little bit late with this review...oops. I received Coveted by Grace White from the author in exchange for an honest review. My thoughts are my own.

The first thing I want to say is that anybody who knows me knows that I am drawn to romance in books, especially if it is just like a subplot. I usually invest more of my reading time wanting to know more about that. With The Gaia Chronicles I am more invested in the plot. It actually has hold of me. I found myself wanting to know more answers and we got some from book one.

I liked that there was a bit more development to the plot in this book. First books are usually about dipping a toe in. This one we stepped off the ladder a bit more in the pool. I liked that a lot. The pacing was good too. I like this author's writing style. I can't wait to see what happens in book three!

This book was a four star rating.

Terra does a lot more growing up in this book. But she also struggles a lot with who she is. She's having a hard time trying to sort out how she feels about everything that is happening. And she also is having kind of an existential crisis because she doesn't know if the guys like her for her, or if they like her because she's Gaia's reincarnation.

So she's trying to figure that out. But on the other hand, I feel like she's dealing with things much better than I would have. Honestly, I'd be freaking out. She's such a strong character. And I find the fact that she does things after the guys tell her not to extremely amusing. I'm like HA! You go Terra!

I think the author does a good job at throwing in an element of mystery with everything else that is going on. What is the mysterious force that Terra keeps sensing? Who is it that is always after her? What are the guys still hiding from her? It's fun to try and figure those things out with Terra and the others.

I liked getting to see her relationship with the boys grow. And watching her create a connection with each of them. Even the douche bag Sol (JK, I kinda love him). Though I think I would have been a bit more forceful and demand to know answers, because I HATE being kept in the dark about things, because I hate being taken off guard.

There were a few plot twists that I did not see coming, and I'm torn between being in denial about who the culprit is and going AH HA! I knew there was something sketchy about *Spoiler Removed*!

I have a love/hate relationship with the way this book and the last one ended. I love it, because it builds up to a big ending, and then leaves you with a million questions, and makes you definitely want the next book ASAP. But I also kind of hate it, because then WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WHILE I WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK?! Ha ha, anyways.

I'm so glad I got a chance to read this book, and I can't wait for the next one!

* I am voluntarily reviewing complimentary Advance Readers Copy of this book. All of the thoughts and opinions that are expressed are completely and totally %100 percent mine, and I have not been compensated in any way for this review.*

Grace White has kept me entranced throughout the entire book once again! This series was nothing like I thought nor what I expected.... instead it is so much better! I was unsure when I read Harem Romance for Book 1 and was pleasantly surprised. Book 2 is just that much better! You learn so much more about Terra's role as Gaia and the 4 protectors.
Cael (Air)... He is by far my favorite! He has been there for Terra since day one and is always helping her out. He is also head over heels for Terra and gets infuriated when he knows what him and Sol were conversing in.
Ross (Water)...He just seems to pop up from time to time. At one point in the book he states how he doesn't know if he will ever be able to be there for Terra as the other 3 are there for her. I know he will protect her and care for her but there isn't any connection between them like the other 3. I wonder if there is a reason for that. I am looking forward to finding out more in the next book.
Endo (Fire)...He really brings the Fire. The little make out session and grabby grab between the two was hot, hot, hot!!! I totally wanted more of the two of them! I am happy he finally decided to kiss her and make a move! Hopefully thier will be more sexy Endo scenes in the next book.
Sol (Earth)... He is such an ass-hat! He keeps his guard up, but has let it down twice within this book. He wants what is best for Terra but I also think he wants her just as much as the other 3. He relieves Terra from this pain she was in through sexual actions and then the next day acts like she was the tramp he slept with. There is something about Sol that I like and keeps me entertained. So much so, I want to learn more and read more about him.
This book had all the feels and emotions for a roller coaster. I cannot wait to see what Grace White has to show in the next book!

I really enjoyed this installment!! 🌍

Terra is becoming much more confident & independent thinking too. She isn't prepared to stop doing something just because the four guys say it's 'for best' to stop, especially when she feels its helping her gain access to her Gaia powers plus it makes her feel included & happy!!

Terra has started to notice a malevolent force around her at times. It seems like it's pressing in on her, maybe trying to gain a 'way in' to her? She eventually tells the guys, they're freaked out & annoyed she didn't tell them sooner. Unfortunately it's not something any of them can sense, only her!! They'll need to find a way to trace it somehow 😳

Part of the Violet & Cael mystery is possibly revealed. As are more of Gaia's powers ⛈💨🔥🌱🍁 Sol is a real git to her in this book, he hurts her emotionally & it's uncalled for. I'm interested in finding out what his issues are 😒 Cael & Endo are both great with Terra & seem to coming to terms with how things are progressing between them much better than anyone else. Selfless, is how I'd describe them 💙 Ross is a total sweetheart but he seems so bruised, as though he's been through a great hurt or heartbreak,. I can't wait to hear his story!!! 😢

Things are starting to heat up, in a good way, for some in the group 😉

I hope 'Caged: Gaia Chronicles #3' is on track for it's June release & that June gets here FAST!! 😁 A thoroughly enjoyable & escapist read!! 💖

I was excited for book 2 in the Gaia Chronicles, and looking forward hopefully finding out more about Terra Masterson, who she is and her connection with Gaia. I enjoyed the continuation of the story, and her four chosen ones, Ross, Cael, Sol and Endo. I loved finding out more about each of them too, with their very different characters. With each of the 4 playing a very different part in the way they support and protect Terra.

In this book Terra is having more of an understanding of her role, especially with past memories coming to the surface. But there are also more threats and danger lurking around every corner, she is having a hard time knowing who she can and cannot trust. As Terra finds her feet and starts to understand her own abilities and power, it also exposes her to more danger. As Terra understands more about her power, she also sense far more around her and can feel the darker forces - she knows someone is pout to threaten, but who and how?

I don't feel that very many of my questions were answered in this story, and if anything even more were created! The story was definitely crammed full of suspense though and exciting twists aplenty. But with the slight cliffhanger at the end and an indication of what is to come, I cannot wait for book 3 and to continue this journey with Terra and her guys. I look forward to seeing where this story goes and how everything will come together!

4-4.5 Stars

Oh my God that was an amazing book! I thought the first book was great but this one was even better. The book is extremely well written and thought out. I can't wait to read book 3.
This is Terra's Continuing Story. If you have not read book one I suggest you stop reading here and see my review for it. Then get the book you will love the story. She is now aware that she is the goddess Gaia. She just has not gotten access to all her powers. As she grows stronger she grows closer to her four chosen. And even ends up in bed with one of them you'll be surprised to it is. As the darkness encroaches on her she is increasingly more worried and when they tracked down the tendrils you will be so surprised to it leads to.
Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book, please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it when you do; they value your opinions too.

A magical read!

Her protectors want to keep her safe...
The witches need her power...
And her new friends just want her to live a little...
But as her hidden memories slowly return...
Who can she trust?

A good, enjoyable addition to this series. More progress has been made in this book - some questions are answered, darkness is coming and Gaia is awakening.

This book sets out the feel for the next books in this series and I cannot wait for it. It is going to be interesting, exciting and nerve-wrecking! So impatient!

Characters are amazing. The world is great - I can't wait to discover what else is out there!

The writing is brilliant and enjoyable. Perfect!

Full of elementals, Gaia, evil, darkness, witches, supernaturals, goddesses, gods, suspense, protectors and love.

Perfect for readers of urban fantasy reverse harem romances.

Coveted is the second book in the Gaia Chronicles and it starts where the first book ended. It's a pretty good book. Terra Materson knew she wasn't normal and always felt weird. She never imagined who she really was and the real world she lived in. Ross, Cael, Endo, and Sol are her protectors and will do anything for her. She's confused by her feelings for all four of these guys and her feelings of being drawn to them. She feels like she has made one friend with Amalia and she feels somewhat part of the witches group. But there is a force of evil that is trying to either destroy her or take over her. She has to find herself and her powers.

I'm going to look forward to the next book in this series.

This is the second book in the Gaia Chronicles and you do need to read Cursed first. This story is getting better and better. In this book we see Terra come to terms with the fact she is an ancient goddess and have four men to protect her. As her memories return she also battles and evil that is out to get her. There is twists and turns and angst throughout the entire book. As Terra gets to know Sol, Ross, Cael, and Endo there is a connection to each of them. One that confuses and excites her.

This is a book that you won't be able to put down until the end. Questions from the first book are answered but so many more questions are introduced. Are friends enemies, are enemies really friends. Who can be trusted. I can't wait until the next book to see where this story leads.

This series is crazy addictive! Everything about it is serious phenomenal. I love the direction the storyline is going in, and with this being a slow burn reverse harem, there is loads of development between Terra and the guys. It’s just really well done. You get just a taste, just enough to completely reel you and leave you wanting for more!

I really like Terra’s character. Not your typical bada**, but not exactly a damsel in distress. She’s a great mix of the two.

As for Ross, Sol, Endo, and Cael...well like I said, the author does a fantastic job of showing the development of and between all of the characters. I love how not all of them are immediately going for a relationship with Terra!

I’m going to be in such a funk until that next book comes out!

I enjoyed learning more about Terra and her boys, and was happy to see their relationships develop further. I also appreciated getting a little more information about why Sol is such a jerk to his Goddess, although I'm still not on board with that situation. I can empathize with Terra's uncertainty and frustration with such a weight on her shoulders. I have a minor concern in that I think the voice of the story struggles with whether to be YA or NA. I think the plot leans NA while the characters are more YA. I will continue with the next books in the series and can't wait for Terra to master her powers!

I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.

I’m sorry but I’m not going to give away any spoilers of any kind because I’m not the type that does that.
So all I’m going to say about this book is that it’s absolutely fantastic! But then again Grace White is awesome at creating great characters and weaving awesome realities into her stories.
If you haven’t read any of her books well then might I suggest you start with Cursed before you read this book otherwise you’ll be confused as to who is who and what is what.
So if you haven’t already figured it out yes I do recommend this book to anyone who’s interested in crawling into a great story and getting lost within its pages.

This was another good read in this series. Terra is starting manage her powers better and her men are there to guide her and protect her. She feels such an intense pull to each of them and loves them each in their own way. All completely different and all completely hers. I loved this installment as we feel them all get closer as they prepare to take on the darkness that threatens them. I'm curious about Sol and why he keeps himself at arms length. Things are definitely starting to heat up and I can't wait for the next book!

What an intriguing story, with many twists and emotional roller coasters. Not many ladies have four protectors aka guides to help her grow into her powers; this alone made it to the top of my reading choice. I enjoyed a heroine who has backbone and more dominating over her men by showing she is not going to be dictate too or a pushover.

There are some great secrets, which unfold as the story continues. Many will not because it ends with a wonderful cliffhanger, which I can't wait for book three of her journey.

Addicted is an understatement to how I feel about this series! I am in love with the characters! I'm struggling to decide which of the boys I love more. I think it's currently a toss up between Cael and Endo. I'm actually already on to book 3, I just forgot to post my review for book 2 right after finishing it, but I am so ready for more of the guardians. And I am happy to see Tessa growing more and more into her own. I can't wait till she becomes powerful and can kick some major darkness butt!

Audiobook Version:

Great Series! I was happy to find a little more heat in this book than the last. Book 2 gave us the same great characters and chemistry but added a bit more flames to the story. We are learning more about all the characters and the great evil that is coming. Looking forward to listening to book 3!

Narration- Once again, Sarah did a flawless job on the narration. So enjoyable to listen to and an all-around great performance. She adds something special to this already great book.

Second book in the series and I can’t wait to see where the next two go. I loving how the relationship is developing with the elements/boys and if the Amelia bit is true for some reason I never saw that coming. I thought there could be something but I never expected what they found, looking forward to the answers in next book and where the relationships will go. I got to say I love the covers, they all similar but I think they reflect the story so well! I wish Terra would hurry up a little she seem to be taking too long to get use to it and moans a bit too much!

I love this second installment in the Gaia Chronicles! The relationships are progressing and at the right pace. Sol is still my least favorite because he’s just so stubborn! I can’t wait for Terra to crack that wall of ice he protects himself with. Cael is my favorite in this book. He’s so sweet and just....gah, everything! Ross & Endo are coming around and I’m hoping that the next book has more happening with them. Such a good story and I’m anxious to get more answers in the next one.

Terra is glowing in this book. Learning about her Powers and what is happening, but not everything is what it seems.
Each guy has different part with terra. Each relationship deliciously different and loveable.
With guys, which can seem strange I have Soft spot for Sol, who is an a$$hole here, but for me he is The best guy from The whole Four - most complicated one. I cant wait to get to know ale The secrets from this Series!

I was dying to read book two and it did not disappoint. Terra and the boys really went through a lot in this book but my favorite part was seeming ho each individual relationship started to build. I feel like there’s still so much to learn and so many unanswered questions which makes me die for book 3! There’s a bit of a cliffhanger or more like a setup for the next book which I love too. Great read!

Fascinating

As the second book in the series we are deep into the plot now. Terra is trying figure everything out with her powers and Gaia. In top of that there is all kinds of relationship building going on. As if that is not enough an evil presence starts attacking leading to a cliff hanger ending. Great development with some fascinating world building. Great for fans of slow burn paranormal reverse harem romance novels. I really enjoyed it so I give it 4/5 stars.

I really like this story but the last book didn't have any steamy scenes which was my only complaint. I enjoyed the heat throughout the story and even though there is another book after this one, we finally learn a little something about the mysterious dark source. This book had just the right progression. As always, Sarah Puckett does a fantastic job narrating. She does a great job portraying the characters.

A Fantastic Read!!!!!!

This was a great story. At times Terra tends to annoy me because of her attitudes and actions but we can also see her growing into herself. She is getting stronger and learning a lot. The guys are amazing and strong but at times do not act as if they are as old as they should be. There is a lot of drama, suspense, and mystery. It is definitely worth reading!!!!!

I was upset this book didn't resolve more, but only because the plot was so awesome!

Terra's relationship with the four young men grows slowly but surely, each new tidbit about her place in the world and the plot she's supposed to be unraveling comes with a new experience—as much as I like Cael and Endo being so easily affectionate, I found Sol and Ross far more intriguing. I enjoyed reading this and went straight to buy books three and four!

In this story, Terra is trying to figure out her powers and her life as Gaia. I liked that the guys, while still protective, seemed to be more helpful. They clearly still have secrets, but I liked seeing the glimpses of them with Gaia. There is a surprise at the end that I wasn’t expecting, and I hope book 3 comes out soon so I can see what happens next!
