Faith Gibson's love of books started early on. So much so that she decided to write her own stories. When a college professor told her she had a gift, she took him at his word and put pen to paper (because back then, there were no computers. Shh, we don't mention her age.)

Her love of all things paranormal mixed with crazy dreams led to her first series, The Stone Society, about Gargoyle shifters in search of their mates while protecting humanity from unhinged beasts known as The Unholy. The Hounds of Zeus MC series was born from one of their own being a mate of a Gargoyle. The Rebel Moon Shifters are the next generation, all the kids from the first two series.

Faith also abbles in MM worlds and contemporary suspense, but her first and forever love is fantasy.

When Faith isn’t hard at work on her next story, she can be found reading, cooking, playing in the dirt (planting stuff) or playing with her staffy pup, all while listening to hard rock music.

I absolutely devoured every single word of this book. There was also closure for Dex and Danny who was Dex's past lover. That was an issue that I had a with book 1. I feel like Dex can move on now. It wasn't the crying grieving breakdown I was hoping for, but with Dex's amnesia it's unrealistic to expect. I still think Dex and Orlando still move at warp speed, but that's my own opinion. I love Dex's relationship with Zayden and Cindy. I hope this isn't the end, and the next will be an auto buy for sure.

I devoured this book in an afternoon. If possible I loved this book even more than the first one. I love the people – dead and alive, I love the pacing and the plot and it had a good mystery to boot. The Ghost in the Water picks up right after The Ghost in the Mirror ended, so it’s a good idea to start this series from the beginning.

Dexter is working hard on getting his PI license, and sometimes a case requires him to go outside his comfort zone. Some cases more than others. Jill, his friend and mentor has taken on a missing persons case the local police has been ignoring. The case takes on many twists and turns, and the young woman they are looking for is anything but what she seems. I definitely enjoyed trying to figure out the mysteries, trying to find some logic behind some seemingly random murders and a missing woman. By the end of it, when it was all wrapped up I still had questions, but that was fitting to the theme of the book. The mind holds so many secrets, and some things won’t ever make sense but to that one person, and sometimes not even that. Then again, I’m not so sure I’d want to know all the answers and details either. At times not knowing for sure can be a blessing in disguise. All in all, Faith Gibson created an engaging mystery with many twists and turns.

As for Dex and Orlando, their relationship had some rough patches, but for the most part they were very lovey dove and hot and heavy. Dex was naturally still dealing with the aftermath from the explosion and his memory loss and trying to make sense of it all. At the same time Orlando was trying to give Dex the time and space he needed, and doing his best to not become jealous over a ghost. For the most part I felt their relationship was easy and mostly friction free. Then again, they were still in the honeymoon-phase of their relationship, so I guess friction might show up sometime later down the line. They did take some major steps forward, or maybe that’s leaps, anyway they are speeding forward and making up for lost time.

There are many noteworthy secondary characters that I could mention, but there’s one that has a special place in my heart. I’ve fallen in love with Cindy just as much as with Dex and Orlando, quite possibly even more so. There were so many times I caught myself smiling at her antics, her dancing and singing – riding Chester. I too wished for her to be able to speak and communicate more with the living. I loved to see her happy, dancing or laughing with Zayden, or finding peace with Henry the grandfatherly ghost. I’m glad she’s found some peace in her new family, she deserves it after all this time wandering alone.

I saw that Ms Gibson is planning for a third and final book in this series, and I for one can’t wait to get back to everyone again.

I highly recommend this series for anyone enjoying a good paranormal mystery.

In Ghost in the Mirror (book 1 in the Samuel Dexter series) I fell in love with the characters and the premise, but this book took it up a notch. While I love the guys, I have a very special place in my heart for Cindy, the little ghost that has captured Sam's heart and her furry friend, Freya, the wolf.

As in book 1, Ghost in the Water is about solving a mystery. This time Sam and his partner Jullian are hired to find a missing girl. A girl who just happens to resemble girls that have fallen victim to a serial killer. A serial killer that Orlando is charged with locating. The chase to find the missing girl and the killer on the loose brings with it interesting twists and turns. It's obvious in the storyline that Faith Gibson has done her research and delivered yet another exciting suspense filled story.

In this book, the progression of Sam and Orlando's love story is natural. They have struggles like all new couples, but they work through them. Sam may not remember the details of his past with Orlando, but his heart never forgot the love his for his detective. And Orlando, he never gave up on a future with Sam. Their love story is inspiring. Oh, and as an added bonus for those of us that enjoy a bit of action between the sheets, the heat between these two men is also heightened in this book. If you are into super sexy M/M lovin, this book will not disappoint! In fact, you may need a breather after some of the more deliciously sexy scenes.

I adore this book and can't wait to see where the story goes next. From the little ghost playing with Zayden to the romance and solving of mysteries, Ghost in the Water has it all and then some. Do yourself a favor and one-click this book. You will not regret it! Ghost in the Water is an absolute Must Read.

I happily rate this book 5 stars!

Samuel Dexter lost his memory after an explosion while serving in the military, it's something he might never get back. He did though gain the ability to see and talk to ghosts, which he now uses to his advantage while studying to become a private investigator.

I loved reading about his struggles of dealing with this past while accepting his new found strengths of his present. So much happens in this book between Sam and Orlando and to see them stop and focus on them broke me a time or two.

I loved this story, the mystery, the growth in Sam and Orlando's relationship. There are great secondary characters, a great sense of family and how Sam is finally coming to grips with what happened to him and settling into life. And that mystery . . . . It kept me on the edge of my seat with twists and turns!! I loved every second! This would make a great series on TV.

I love this series hard. I can’t get enough of Dex and Lanny. This is a mm contemporary with a young ghost as well. So many twists and turns. Hope the next book is soon. This series is an automatic buy for me.

The Ghost in the Water is the second book in the Samuel Dexter Series. Heads up this is a M/M mystery. Sam (Dex) is an ex-marine, whom an explosion while in the marines killed a loved one and whom he still has nightmares about.

On his road to recovery Sam had his grandmother (who I fell in love with and wanted her as my grandmother in the first book, The Ghost in the Mirror). There are wonderful characters in this book. Orlando (Lanny) Shaw (a detective with the Robins PD & is Dex’s S.O.), an autistic boy Zayden (Orlando’s nephew) & Cindy a ghost, oh and let’s not forget Dex’s grandmother. All are helping Sam with his recovery.

Sam decided his life outside the service that he would work on becoming a private investigator, (PI). Sam now has a gift after the explosion and that can see communicate with dead people (ghosts). Sam was introduced to Selina Grant by his Local Recovery Coordinator, Dr. Carr. Selina is an avid ghost hunter and her girlfriend was Jillian Templeton who turns out to take Sam on in training to become a PI. Whew! That is a lot of history in a couple of paragraphs. I hope you all got that! And, there is still so much more story left to tell.

I enjoyed reading The Ghost in the Water. It is a very sexy book to read.

This story had me hooked from the very first words and I was sucked into Sam's world again and that was a wonderful feeling.

The story plunges you head first into Orlando and Sam's world and there is a lot going on. Orlando wants Sam to move in with him but Sam is still waiting for the other shoe to drop with regards to his memories. He is scared to admit that his memories might reveal something that will send their relationship straight into jeopardy. There is a lot of focus on Orlando and Sam and their relationship. I seriously love these two characters and they are practically "fire" when they are together. There is just so much chemistry between these two. This book has their relationship progressing even further and I am really happy about these two.

I didn't remember many of the side characters but the moment I started reading the book they all came back to me and I didn't at any point in the story have to waste time figuring out who a certain person was.

This book focuses on one missing girl by the name of Lindy who suffers from D.I.D. While Lindy has been missing for two weeks someone is killing her lookalikes. The mystery definitely had me on my toes because every time I thought I had this story figured out it, there would be a new twist but, though that made the story interesting the author couldn't successfully then tie up all the ends. The ending was horribly weak and personally, I am still waiting for another explanation.

Also, the author really doesn't know how to deal with Danny and decides to deal with him as second to Orlando and that just doesn't work. Maybe, Orlando needs to think that way for his peace of mind and I get him for doing that but having Sam diminish his relationship with Danny is a really bad move because we really don't know how close these two were and more importantly Sam doesn't know how close they really were so having him dismiss it is in poor taste.

Thankfully, for the book both these flaws in the story occur towards the end so the majority of the story is free from my distaste and that is why this story has a higher rating than it should because though I genuinely loved reading it and getting to know these characters again, these two things quite pissed me off and atleast one of them might carry over to a possible sequel. So, let's see how that goes but if you like Sam and Orlando you will like this book because these two are going strong there is actually a ton that happens in this book with regards to these two and that part of the story is great.

Paranormal and M/M romance are two of my favorite genres and when they are combined that’s the icing on the cake. This is the continuation of Samuel Dexter’s life coming back from an explosion in the desert where he was stationed as a marine. His whole platoon was killed and he is living with survivors guilt, and to top it all off he doesn’t remember his life before he was deployed. I would absolutely recommend reading the Ghost in the Mirror before you even attempt this book.

We fell in love with Sam and Orlando in The Ghost in the Mirror and their relationship grows every day in this book. Sam and his PI partner and mentor are hired by a grieving family that just wants their daughter back alive. Orlando is trying to solve a case with a serial killer murdering young women that look like the girl Sam is hired to find. The two cases crossover will they solve the cases before another young woman is murdered?

Orlando just has one hang up when it comes to Sam’s recovery- Sam is constantly calling out his dead lover’s name when he has nightmares. Orlando want to be the one and only for Sam but can he compete with a ghost? Sam is trying to prove to Orlando that he wants to be with him and him only but he just doesn’t know how.

I absolutely adore Sam and Orlando as a couple. And throw in Cindy, a little girl ghost that Sam salt her murder in the first book and you have a hit on your hands. I can’t wait to see where Ms. Gibson takes the series.

This was just an awesome book. Again I had to stay up past midnight to finish the book. This twisted story has all that a reader could want. When I mean twisted, the reader is left to wander who the killer is until the end of the book because the author keeps the answer so well hidden, the reader has know way of knowing the answer. Sam and Lanny are falling deeper in love, but Sam still struggles with his loss of memory and Lanny is still jealous of his dead lover, Danny. Nightmares haunt Sam and are getting worse. In the meantime a serial killer is on the loose and there are no clues to be found. Sam and his PI partner Jillian are on a case trying to find a missing girl with a mental disorder. Soon their paths cross with Olander's case and they have to figure out how to use each other's clues without breaking professional ethics themselves. Cindy, our little ghost is involved in the mysteries when Sam starts seeing the ghosts of the dead women. This is an intriguing story that definitely keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. I would highly recommend this series for those who enjoy an excellent ghost story and a mystery. I hope this isn't of Dex and Olander.

I didn't like this book as much as the first in the series which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. It is actually more like a 4.5 star read, but Goodreads doesn't do half stars.

In this book, Orlando and Sam develop their personal relationship a bit more than in the first book. Because of this, it seems like there are way more steamy scenes than in book 1 and in my opinion it was somewhat distracting from the main story. I kept getting impatient for the case updates and what was happening with the ghosts because it seemed like we kept getting interrupted by Orlando and Sam's sexy time. However, the author does a fantastic job getting us inside each characters emotions and with multiple POV's we get a bigger and better view of the story as a whole.

Also, I liked the type of case in this book better than book 1. The multiple personalities were so intricate and interesting. It made for an exciting and informative story. And of course we don't find out the truth of the killer until the very end. We also get a little bonus twist at the end that I never saw coming. That part was such a great surprise!

Lost a star for too much gratuitous sex

First, I love Faith Gibson’s books and I adore Samuel Dexter. I’ve waited for over a year for the sequel to be released and I wasn’t disappointed... with the story, that is. I also cheer when sex between two men are celebrated. The problem I have with this book is that the sex scenes pulled me out of the story. This is one of those books where the supporting characters are as great as the main ones. Yes this story is about Dex and his gifts. It’s also about his love for Orlando. But... Cindy, Zayden, Trina, Jillian, Lina and Grams. The book did not need every other chapter describing what we already know.

I’m waiting eagerly for the next ideation because despite what I just said, Samuel Louis Dexter rocks!

If you like this twist in the m/m genre open Pandora Pine! Her latest series is based around Tennison, a medium who also communes with the dead and it’s excellent.

❤❤ Brilliant. Another fantastic ghost mystery romance story. I love Sam's character in these book series, he still struggles with what happened with Danny and with has PTSD nightmares. Learning about his talent as a medium he gets there with help from others.  Orlando has loved Sam for 6 years and has no intentions of letting him go. I hope there's more books to come in this series, as I love a great ghost mystery to read. The mystery who the serial killer is, not telling but I never picked its a complete surprise....
Samuel Dexter was a former marine corps 3 months ago now cause of an explosion he got no memories. Seeing ghosts and now having a boyfriend Detective Orlando. Not to forget little Cindy a ghost not wanting to go into the light. Orlando's nephew Zayden can also see ghosts too.
Samuel was working with Jillian (a PI) and her partner Selena when Sam gets a new case.  Sam sees a ghost in the lake but it would be the start of a huge investigation. Advised to read in order .

Waiting since 2016 to read this book! Hot love, mystery, omg!

I read the Ghost in the Mirror in 2016 and have been waiting for this book because I couldn’t believe that Faith Gibson would leave me thirsting for another glimpse of Samuel Louis Dexter without another book! Dex (aka Sammy) is a hot marine who has lost all his memories during an attack but in exchange has him seeing ghosts. Can you imagine losing your entire identity, desperately trying to find any memory, and not being to identify whether what you’re seeing is a memory or real or PTSD? Don’t even know what you look like or what kind of person you were?

In this sequel Sam and Orlando, his childhood love who he had to leave to join the marines (so he could eventually go to college), have 2 mysteries to solve — or is it just one? Sam is a PI while Orlando is a detective. This is also about whether they can trust each other in their relationship. It’s fabulous!

Ghosts!

I love a great ghost story. It's even better when the psychic teams up with a detective to solve murders. This series is intense emotionally and physically. Memory loss, trauma, guilt are threaded through the plot. Samuel Dexter (Dex ) returns from war following an explosion that left him with no memories and a newfound ability to see spirits. He is reunited with his first love Landon Shaw, a local detective. Sex begins working with a local PI and finds himself working the same case as Lanny. Their path to love isn't easy, with Dex being plagued with nightmares of the love he lost in the desert and the guilt he carries around because of the explosion that killed his lover and his unit.

Read both books they were wonderful. Sam's constant rerun in his mind of the explosion that took his lover and his team was heartbreaking. Seeing him embrace his newly found ability had me mentally cheering him on. This was a very interesting storyline ghosts, murders and love handled gently. I don't want to spoil the story for others but I highly recommend it as books that are hard to put down. I wish there was more to the story of Sam and his ghosts, just think about it Ms. Gibson.

It’s been a while since I read the first book in this series, but with the little recaps at the beginning of this one, I was able to pick up where it left off. There is a good mystery/who done it, in this new book. It’s a bit verbose in areas that can get a bit boring, but all in all, it’s a pretty decent read.

Male characters seem more like women.

Men who behave like women. If you like male lead characters who are really in touch with thier feminine side and their feelings, this will float your boat. The first book in the series wasn't quite as bad.
Also, far too much sex. Felt like the book was 30% porn.

Heartwarming

Sam captures your heart right away and as he struggles with his past and new skills you see the brave man just trying to make his way. I very much enjoy Faith's writing style letting us see both characters thoughts. This series is so good. I would love to see more. Loved the ghost, little Cindy is a star.

Love these 2 stories!

I have absolutely fallen in love with Dex and his crew. To watch him grow, to try to find himself memories or no memories. This is such an unique story. A story of loss, hope, family, friend and ghosts. I really hope there is another story!

Captivating story with well fleshed out characters. There could have been less sex as it took away from the investigations. Cindy is absolutely believable and charming. I suggest that readers try the first Dex book so that they get the full picture.

The Ghost in the Water

Excellent book. There are lots of twists and turns, mystery, and just the right amount of smut. It's nice to read a gay theme novel that doesn't just have the chapters bounce back and forth between the two main characters.
