She's stolen a priceless relic from his treasure, and his heart. Ciara is the best damn wedding planner this side of anywhere, but she's no thief. That's exactly what the sexy-ass dragon shifter has accused her of - stealing his treasure. She's going to steal something of his alright, his sanity, if he doesn't let her go so she can get back to giving couples their happy ever afters. Its the best way to ignore the fact she's sure she'll never get one her own. Not with any man, or even a dragon. Jakob is either going to kill the sexy, curvy woman who denies she has The First Dragon's relic, or take her to bed and drive her as crazy as she's making him. Why does he want her so much he can't even properly interrogate her? Might have something to do with the way his soul is screaming at him to mark her, claim her, f*ck her, and make dragon babies with her. He can't give her his soul if she's already stolen it, or something darker and more dangerous has. Here's a free preview from chapter one of this brand new curvy girl and dragon shifter especially for you! Body made for sin? Was he kidding? Body made of sins, maybe. Namely the sins of Swiss meringue buttercream, chocolate ganache, and too many I Love Lucy reruns. “Stop staring at my toukas. Whatever you're looking for ain't in there.” She wiggled her back side to emphasize her point. That made her intruder damn irritated, probably that her rear wasn’t dropping any evidence of wrong doing based on the growl rumbling from his chest and his eyes glued to her bum. “Stop enticing me with your curves, thief. You can not distract me from what is mine.” Ciara cleared her throat, gently at first, but when that failed to bring his eyes up to hers, she about gave herself a sore throat trying to get his attention. “Are you ill? I won't have you dying before you tell me where the relic is hidden.” What an asshat. A cute one, but a real douchcanoe none the less. “I think maybe we've gotten off on the wrong foot here.” Ciara extended her hand to him. “I’m Ciara Mosely-Willingham.” Her hand hung there for a full count of ten. “And you are?” He recoiled from her hand. “Wondering what spell you're working on me. I assure you I am immune.” “I was trying to be nice, but I've had a very long and tiring day, so my patience is wearing thin. I don't have your thingy, I don't even know what a Why Vern is.” Ciara turned and began looking for her torturous heels. It would be much more fun to stomp off if there was some clack. “As am I. If you won't return what you have taken from me I will be forced to bring you before the AllWyr council.” He grabbed her hand and pulled her through the ball room toward a terrace. Good thing she'd already kicked off her shoes or she'd have been tripping all over her feet at the rate he was dragging her away. “Hey, stop right this instant or I’ll bring out the self-defense moves.” “Save your defense for the council. You’ll need it.” This dude was seriously wack-a-doo. “Let me go.” “Return my relic.” “I’m gonna make you a relic.” “Save your spells, witch.” “Your face is a witch.” The scary man released her and grabbed at his face. “Good try, witch. You’ll pay for that.” Ciara pivoted and bolted, weaving her way between the tables. One second she was zigging and zagging the next she was air born. Great claws gripped her shoulders and a deep whoosh-whoosh-whoosh sounded above her. She wriggled and screamed and frantically tried to see what was happening above and below her. Her feet crashed into empty glasses and caught a centerpiece of giant lillies dead on as she was dragged through the air above the tables. Before she could even take another breath to scream again they swooped out of the French doors, over the balcony and into the night sky. She glanced up not for a second fathoming that she’d see, flying above her, the giant wings, flapping gracefully through the sky, of a dragon.

A dragon and a new witch!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙💚❤️💜
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌍
Character development: 🤓😉☺️😍
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Ciara - she is a wedding planner who works for her mother's bridal company. She wants to one day own it all but is afraid her controlling mother will never let that happen. Her life is nothing but work and she is great at her job. Nobody can calm down a bridezilla like her. Her calendar is full of weddings and meetings and she barely has room to sneak in one more. She has a crush on a guy that she works with.

The Hero: Jakob - he is the wyvern of the green dragon clan. He lives in a villa near Prague and he is in charge of the relic, the statue of the heart of the first dragon. It has recently gone missing and is now in the hands of a powerful witch.

The Story: Jakob shows up at a wedding that Ciara is working, and kidnaps her, taking her to his villa near Prague. She is surprised when he had shifted into a dragon but even more surprised when he accuses her of stealing his relic and of being a witch. Though their attraction to each other can’t be denied.

It isn’t long before a strange woman called Mrs. Bohasek comes to Ciara and tells her that she is indeed a witch and that she needs to unleash her emotions to master her magic, because keeping them all locked up like her mother taught her is going to end bad. Mrs. Bohasek also tells her she is the true mate of Jakob.

This story was a bit different than any other dragon shifter story in that Jakob doesn’t really recognize Ciara as his mate, because no dragon has found his true mate in over 700 years. Ciara was clueless to the fact that she had magic, though she picked it up pretty quickly which I liked. I usually am not a fan of curvy girl romance because some of them go on an on about the heroine being fat, and this one some of that, but I did like the premise of the story.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Paul Brion and Stephanie Rose. They both do a good job, though they are both a bit more stilted in their narration than some of the other narrators I have heard. Stephanie has a nice voice and does well with different voices for different characters and Paul has a nice deep voice.

Yup. Yup. Yup.

I needed this book in my life. I loved the shit out of it.

It's everything I needed, plus some. Was it the most amazing, complex, well-written piece of work ever? NO! But I don't give two hoots. Dragon/Shifter Romances are my guilty pleasure. So as long as it's got the smut and the hot alpha/male dragons to go with it, I'm done for. And this had it. Boy did it freaking have it. I'll probably never tire from this smut. Never.

I absolutely LOVED this book! It was cute, sexy, had some suspense and plenty of action. It also had some amazing characters including a jealous possessive dragon shifter and a curvy thief he’s keeping forever.

Ciara was snarky and fun, and she stood up to her dragon without thought or inhibition. She was a tough heroine but never hard although she quickly learned how to do what was needed in order to help herself as well as him when the situation warranted. I loved watching her grow into her new abilities.

I had a blast watching Jakob go from being grumbly and irritable about his relic and the witch that stole it to trying to figure out what was going on with her and his feelings for her. From the very beginning he wanted her despite what she had done and he stayed in protective mode throughout the book even when he didn’t need to be. He was everything I love about a hero and I’m adding him to my favorite heroes list.

This is the first book in a series and it seems to be setting things up for some conflict that each pair of characters will have to overcome. Having met several of the dragons I’m definitely going to be checking this series out further. It’s a really fast paced read although it’s not necessarily short, the wit is sharp and fun, the steam absolutely sizzling only increasing due to Jakob’s dirty talk, and there is plenty of action and suspense.

I think I’ve just found a new favorite author!

Jakob, j/p hero, dragon shifter who first thinks the heroine stole a dragon artifact from his treasure lair. He hunts her down, kidnaps her and brings her to his home. The more he is with her the more he can't keep his mind or hands off of her.

Heroine is a wedding planner with an over controlling mom and crushes on a co-worker. She's sweet and beautiful but doesn't realize it. She also curvy and I did feel that it was brought up a bit too much in the story.

The story itself was low angst, cute and a bit on the silly side. I don't think I was in the right mood when I read this. I usually enjoy the fun, silly romances more than I did this time around.

DNF @ 14%

I’ll try to keep this short and sweet about why this book wasn’t for me.

1. How it was written, especially the dialogue. The conversations between characters seemed clunky and lacked natural flow and banter. This could possibly be helped with an editor but as of now it is unreadable to me for setting up interactions between the characters that makes me love them. Actually most of the writing is done in this style of over explanation and staccato sentences instead of flowing words. The author also seems to throw out weird sentences but give no explanation. An example quote from the book,
“The office may look more like a jungle than the spartan rooms his father kept, but he was half the age his father had been when he became Wyvern.”
The author just drops this sentence in the paragraph and walks away. What does age have to do with plants?! Just one example of a confusing throwaway line that went unexplained.

2. Missing information. I had to go and double check that this was the first book in the series because I was so confused at several points when reading. As the first book in the series, the author should have spent time in the beginning setting up the world to let the readers know key pieces of information. (Examples... what is a Wyvern, as it seems different than a normal dragon shifter? What are the different types of dragons (at the point I read to the author had mentioned Green, Gold, and Red dragons) and do they do different things/have different functions?) Also, the author would throw out character names of people like we had already been introduced to them and should know who they are in relation to the main characters when in fact they hadn’t ever appeared yet.

3. Not believable. We are supposed to believe that the heroine, who we can guess to be somewhere 20s-30s, has never realized that she sets things off with her emotions? I imagine she was a child at some point in time and didn’t always have miraculous control of her emotions so she had to have noticed something wrong. She made it snow within hours of being in the hero’s presence because she got angry! It was also not believable to have her have no reaction to finding out this guy was a dragon. She hardly even mentions it! Unrealistic.

So maybe not so short and sweet. Hope it helps people decide if they want to read though!

based on the first 30 - 40 % of the book I really thought this would be at least a 4 stars read ... but , both main characters just pissed me off by the end

I might continue the series tho, because the main plot was interesting, I'm curious about finding out more about all these dragons and their mates, I hope the next couples will be smarter, because these two, were so superficial and winey, both in their own way

Ciara (h) ruined book!
Re-Read review:
I re-read this bc the box set is out and free with k.u. I still stand by my first review, that Ciara is TSTL and low self esteem! I wish she had been a stronger female lead, she is supposed to be the greatest white witch in over 700 years! Jakob is still a hot bad@$$ dragon shifter and Green Wyvern. Good paranormal world building and potential for good secondary characters book. I’ll try the next one but if the heroine isn’t great I’m done with this series.

This book has all the parts to make a great read!
1. Hot alpha Dragon shifters
2. Other dragons to write more books
3. Good storyline
What ruined this book?
1. Ciara was tstfl!
2. Ciara was tstfl! It requires saying twice or ten times! White witch phew she doesn't deserve to be most powerful witch in 700 years!
3. Curvy women awesome I'm one, but constantly saying how big, plump fat she is hell no!!
So pros and cons equal but ciara's character totally ruined this book! Two stars for the dragons, Ciara would get - stars!

Great read but..

I loved the story but, the grammatical errors were so distracting it away some the enjoyment. I would start to lose my self into the story when there was "to" used instead of "too" or "there" instead of "their". Please stop depending on grammar check and have actual people proof reading your fantastic books. I love your writing and I anticipate your next books but, I just had to address the elephant in the room.

I'm not a fan of dragon shifters but this story had me on the edge of my seat. I found myself wanting to know what happens next. Especially in the war. There are some unanswered questions but I think those will be addressed in the other books. I do have to say this story needs a serious reread though. There are tons of missing or misplaced words. Enough that made me actually say something. But I did enjoy this story and plan on reading the rest.

I didn't like this one. I'm not sure what it was exactly. I didn't care for Ciara at all. I also hated all the references to her weight or her being curvy. I mean we got it the first couple of times, but then it just kept going and going and ugh...It was too much for me. If all 'curvy girl' books are like this, I might have to skip them.

This was also very insta love. They literally were professing their love on day 2. I'm out for the rest of the series.

If you love books with idiotic characters that are completely led by their fluttering, flapping intimate parts and barely there plot, this may be up your alley. As for me,no thanks. If I despise anything in romance novels, it is main heroines without brain cells who are completely ruled by their need to rut. To the point that it becomes their sole focus. I can't like someone I don't respect.
The whole storyline was intended to be sweet and funny, yet completely failed the mark. Cringy is a better description. It was unrealistic and felt forced.
Somehow I read this novel as first in series and needless to say I will not suffer through other installments.

The author had me at “dragons”. Give me a curvy heroine fighting against a lifetime of insecurities to go with the kinky alpha dragon, and I’m a goner. The snark and sarcasm in this book is a good fit for my own sense of humor and I spent a lot of my time reading it laughing. Ciara has some serious issues with self-preservation; in that she has no sense of it at all. But, I can kind of see how suddenly having all of Jakob’s alpha focus turned on her could be intimidating enough to cause some questionable choices. I’m swept up in the world the author has created and I’m falling in love with these dragon warriors. I’m looking forward to seeing where this series will take us.

The h had a dream and the dragon shifter takes her and ruined her dream. Not angsty, it's supposed to be funny, sadly the result was just tedious. The h was a witch but didn't know it, the H dragon is her mate but no-one believed it. It was a hot mess with too many plot devices upsetting the flow of the story. The h had low self esteem and was not very likeable.

Am I feeling generous today? Yes, I think so, so I'll very kindly give this book 2 stars..

I really don't know what the hell I expected from a fated mates story. My bad there, guys.. 🤷‍♀️

Yes, I was compelled to read this because 1. Plus sized FMC (like ofc!) and 2. The cover! 🤭 boy, was that a mistake

I don't believe in DNF'ing, so I very bravely powered through.. it was one of them where I literally finished it in a few hours, but it was the most stupidest thing I've ever read. (Seriously) And I've bloody read some absolute crap

It really felt like a really badly written wattpad story. The use of 3rd person didn't help. Like at all. Tell me... No, actually bloody tell me why they knew each for 3 days.. 3 fuckin' godforsaken days and they're in love? Nah. I don't think so, love-

Given it's a book about dragon shifters.. it's obviously not realistic, but I mean this really was the stupidest damn plot in the world. No, the plot could have actually been salvaged if there was actually decent writing and characters weren't bland af. Tell me why this girl was an ordinary wedding planner and when she (quite literally) gets picked up by a man/dragon and is flown over oceans, she acts like it's another dammed normal day. Bare in mind in this world, she's "human" and has no idea that magic and dragons etc.. actually exist. I love fantasy, and it can be written very well, but damn.. I was transported back to wattapd. Wait, no, I tell a lie. Wattapad books are a whole level better than this.

Give me strength-

Not for me, I'm afraid. Which is a shame because it has so many things that I should be loving:

✔ Plus-sized heroine
✔ Insta-love
✔ Fated mates
✔ He fell first
✔ Alpha dragon shifter
✔ Possessive hero

I really wanted to DNF at various times but because I'm using it as part of some reading challenges I powered through. I did not connect with either main character (any of the side characters either) and honestly didn't even care when . That's not great.

And the villain? Who was the actual villain?? I have so many unanswered questions that I'm assuming get cleared up in later books, but I just don't care enough to continue.

My biggest gripe though? There was so much veiled fat-phobic content masquerading as being "cute" which just came across as cringe, IMO. I want a body-positive FMC who embraces themselves, not someone who constantly questions whether she made the right decision to choose "fries before guys."

Anyways, a swing and a miss for me ☹

DNF at 55%, page 135, chapter 12.

I tried. I really tried hard to get through this.
But I just couldn't take it anymore and finally gave up. I couldn't even stand to skim read it.

Both MC's are ridiculous in my opinion. Their constant repetitive juvenile internal thoughts drive me to distraction.

Maybe if I was in my 30's I would have enjoyed it enough to finish this book. But at my age I have no patience for this story.
It has quite a few editing errors. The so called humor is childish. The way the fmc continues to refer to her body weight is off putting.
I have to say this story is juvenile, adolescent, puerile and inane.
That pretty much describes everything about it.
I'm disappointed. I have a ton of the books in this series. But now they are all going into my 'Not For Me' shelf.

The story was charming and very interesting. However I’d call this soft porn-or mommy porn-to many unnecessary pages of sexual descriptions-and very raw-it ruined the book for me-i forwarded past those (street type language sex) pages to get back to the story-I guess everyone wants a 50 shades of gray book-epic failure on this book.

First time

My first book of Aidy, and I must say I was impressed.
But I had only one problem with the story and it was Ciara and how she just fully accepted this right off.but then fights it. That confused me a bit,
there are some clever lines and funny dialogues, the storyline was great.
I will be reading the next book.

The writing style of this book is a bit different. It’s Dual POV from each mate’s perspective with scenes being told twice from both points of view. Each book in the series is about a different couple, but they are all connected by the main plot.

Really fast audio via Audible. All in all I thought it was a tad eye rolley especially the dialogue but it was also kind of cute. The FMC did have some funny quips.. At one point she said her motto in life has been "Fries before guys" and I had a good laugh as well as added to my list of funniest FMC quips of 2019 lol. I will say the FMC did spend and inordinate amount of time in denial.. like at least the whole book up until like the last chapter.. granted it at least wasn't denial about the same thing over and over.. its just like this characters go to.. DENY DENY DENY. Despite it being a quick, cute little story we get almost no world building here.. Occasionally we get some backstory here and there but its almost like its an after thought. To be honest I still don't know why the "allfather" is after our witch. Maybe I missed it?

FMC and wedding planner extraordinaire, Ciara, is always the planner never the bride. Despite her desperate girl fantasies of a husband and kids and spending the last 3 years crushing on a coworker Ciara is basically a wallflower. Until a mysterious necklace comes in the mail and brings with it some male of its own. Jacob must capture the witch that has stolen the First Dragons relic. Ciara is apparently her, unbeknownst to her... lol. The dialogue gets corny and smutty really quick as Ciara doesn't react like any normal sane woman would. And the odd housekeeper keeps blaming all the flames and ice that keep popping up every time she gets emotional on her.. Turns out Ciara is a witch and also a mate...

Jacob and Ciara are cute.. both of them are pretty awkward and its a little cringey but I'm shipping them. Have no idea how Ciara is a witch.. how she saw the first witch..what plans the first witch has..why demon dragons are after everyone..nor what anything else in the book means but it wasn't a bad ride lol.
