Would recommend reading to inquirers. Decent refresher as a baptized Orthodox Christian but it doesnt teach me anything I haven’t already learned from other books. ☦️

The Orthodox Faith, Worship, and Life by Hieromonk Gregorios is a beautifully concise and accessible introduction to Eastern Orthodox Christianity, perfect for both curious newcomers and cradle Orthodox looking to deepen their understanding. Rooted in the living tradition of Mount Athos, this book is more than a theological manual—it’s a spiritual guide that gently walks the reader through the heart of Orthodoxy with clarity and reverence.

Hieromonk Gregorios begins with the basics like who God is, what it means to be human, and why we were created, before moving into the deeper mysteries of the Church, the sacraments, and the liturgical life. One of the book’s strengths is its ability to explain profound truths in simple, yet not simplistic, language. You don’t need a background in theology to grasp the beauty of the Orthodox worldview as presented here.

The section on worship is especially moving, offering insight into why Orthodox services are filled with incense, icons, chanting, and silence, not as rituals for ritual’s sake, but as a way of entering heaven on earth. The final chapters focus on how faith is lived daily through prayer, fasting, almsgiving, and the struggle against the passions, making it clear that Orthodoxy is not just a belief system but a way of life.

What makes this book so effective is its calm, humble tone and the way it invites readers into communion with Christ and His Church without pressure or polemic. Whether you’re exploring Orthodoxy for the first time or revisiting its core teachings with fresh eyes, The Orthodox Faith, Worship, and Life offers a thoughtful, inspiring, and deeply grounded path into the timeless beauty of the Orthodox Christian faith.

Great book, but I wouldn't suggest reading it without the guide of an Orthodox priest. It certainly promotes questions which need an answer beyond the grasp of google. However, it is a great introduction for catechetical inquiring.

A perfect Catechism! Something I will come back to again and again to fresh myself as it is very approachable and comprehensive for the Orthodox Faith.
