Wow, well, that was intense and another book by Rachael Tonks I couldn't put down.
I love MC reads for their unpredictability, angst, drama, hotness, danger, grittiness and, In Love and ruins had all that.
This is like a forbidden romance, Tara and Nate got together near the end of the previous book and their relationship is a secret due to a deal her cousin Carter who is a drug lord and criminal made and that deal was giving Tara over to the MC president who also happens to be Nates father and a nasty piece of work but Tara is under the protection of Brax from the previous book and he cannot touch her, but when does an outlaw comply with the rules?.
You are immediately thrust into the hotness and chemistry of Nate and Tara in the first few pages, first spoken words of love and then it all explodes when Nate gives Tara up to keep her safe from his father, I loved the journey of the story, I got frustrated with Tara's recklessness in her desperation to see Nate putting herself in danger but all in all, it was an exciting story.
I don't feel you need to read the previous books to read this story but would recommend getting a feel for the whole story where it all began before reading this. The first two books give you more of the Mafia type feels and this is most definitely MC.
Be ready for a gritty ride filled with hotness, danger, and suspense.

This is the 3rd book I have read from Rachael and I just knew it would be nail biting!! Let me tell you I never in life expected to be sat on the edge of my seat and completely hooked from the very first page....
Wow what a book....Rachael never fails to write amazing stories, this one yet again absolutely BRILLIANT and I just had to keep reading to know what was going to happen...
I honestly without a doubt loved Tara and Nate...I loved the chemistry between them and you just felt for them and them wanting to be together but it wasn’t that simple....I never expected some of the twists and turns this book took me on, OH MY WORD did I scream at the book at a couple points in the story....
Rachael is honestly a talented author and I love her style of writing and the fact she can produce a story that holds you from page one....right to the very end!! This is honestly a wonderful, gripping story and definitely hands down deserves 5 🌟....so can’t wait for the next book!!

Well what a bloody Book, I was very much like the title of this book as I was reading I was in love with Nate and Tara’s love story and in ruins of the heartbreaking sacrifices they had to make.
It was a beautiful, heartbreaking and explosive story. I couldn’t put it down I was in agony cause I couldn’t read it fast enough and my nerves got the better of me with every turn of the page.
What I love about Rachael’s Books is they constantly keep you engrossed throughout, she writes the most beautiful love stories and writes with such delicacy and grace for the harder hitting Love story.
In Love and Ruins is an MC book and not for the faint hearted, if MC is your thing then you need to pick this book up.
Rachael your books get better and better, you truly are a beautiful and brilliant writer. I just wish more people knew about you.

I have been waiting for this story. Nate and Tara go through the ringer in this one. I was hooked and held captive from the get go and I need the rest ofnthe story.
There are some really tough scenes to get through but those are the ones that make the story so good.
OmG that ending.. WTF! Rachael thank you for another amazing story! I look forward to more!

I think Rachael Tonks has seriously destroyed me. Going into the book I knew Tara and Nate’s story was going to be a doozy but damn I think I am broken. Like full on WTF happened.
The book is beyond raw. It is intense. It is a full of messed up stuff that you seriously can’t help but be drawn into. There are definitely some hard scenes to get through but damn if they don’t make the book the book. At the end of the day it was about standing up for what you believe in and what your heart is telling you to do. Pretty much “F” the rules.
Even though I am broken this book is beyond amazing and from page one I was sucked in and couldn’t put it down. I devoured it in hours. The next book needs to be here stat because me and a certain someone who will remain nameless as to not ruin it for others needs to get his @ss kicked and then some. Rachael Tonks, I am beyond amazed with this series and can’t wait for the next book!

Nate and Tara ...a fabulous read and continuation in this MC series !
Nate and Tara have the world stacked against them, their love is forbidden .The MC world has deemed that true. Nate's world is rough and although Tara did not grow up in it she is now thrust into the danger and he must do everything in his power to keep her from harm . Nate's father is the MC president and that in it self is another whole debauchee. She is a very strong woman but is in grave danger and with the odds stacked against them how can their love survive if they can't .
If you love and action packed journey filled with twists turns angst and love this one is for you!! Grab it , buckle up and hold on!

I absolutely loved this book. I was hooked from the first words. I hate that I started with book 3 ( I intend to go back and read the first 2). But this author made it easy to pick up on the story and characters. I fell in love with Nate and Tara right away. You feel all the emotion in this book right along with the characters. This was my first book by Rachael Tonks and I hooked. Just when I thought it was over BANG it got wild and crazier. This is an amazing book and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author. This is a must read if you love MC. I might be slightly addicted to MC <3

Rachael Tonks you had me hanging by a thread with this one!
The story of Nate and Tara was one I was so exited for after the second Scars where you teased us mercilessly with what was brewing between them.
This books was, in true Rachael Tonks style, an absolute effortless read.
I don't know how you do it but you always manage to write a story like no other.
Is it the characters?
Is it the storyline?
Is it the words themselves?
I can't pin point what you do or what it is but the way you write your books is awesome.
I can lose myself in your words so easily...it's such an art and skill and woman; you have it in spades.
This story of love, deceit and revenge had me biting my nails all the way down to the skin.
The highs were so high and the lows were just devastating.
I was seriously beginning to question whether I was going to get my happily ever after in this one.
You nearly had me sending you an aggressive message...nearly....bahahaha
I love that you can tell a tale I get completely invested in without even realizing it.
I loved Nate and Tara in the previous books and this addition to a wicked series only cemented those original feelings!
If you are happy to put your helmet on and strap yourself in for a bumpy, but exhilarating ride then this book and this series has your name all over it!!!!!

My first time reading this author's work (bit daft seeing as I chose the third in the series to start with!) but it was remarkably easy to pick up the threads of the characters without having read the initial two books in the series.
Tonks writes a quick-paced story with very enjoyable characters, a good dose of angst and conflicting emotions, and ends with a whopper of a cliffhanger that makes me itch for the fourth book in the series.
Highly recommended.

Rachael once again did a fantastic job of writing emotional, sexy, intense read! I was hooked from first page and loved seeing Brax and Izzie again. This story was high intensity and went deep into the MC world and just when you think it’s over, the story gets even crazier and wild! I cannot wait for book two bc this cliffhanger blew me away!!!

This is without a doubt my favourite Rachael Tonks book. The authors writing is amazing and you are pulled in to the story from page one. I read it in one sitting and didn't want it to end.
Tara and Nate are the ultimate Romeo and Juliet story for me and this book has went to the top of my reread pile! Desperate for book two!

In Love and Ruins by Rachael Tonks floored me, I was truly impressed. This is the first time reading a book by this author and after finishing this third book in the Scars Series I am now kicking myself for not reading the first two before starting the third. I will however go back and read them for sure.
This explosive MC story had me captivated right from the start. Nate and Tara find themselves in a forbidden romance hiding their feelings from the president of the Savages MC who also happens to be Nate's father and the person that Tara has been "given" to. Nate has other plans for Tara and he will not let anything stop him from having her, even his father. A very intense story with many ups and does, twist and turns... oh and a cliff hanger that will totally shock you.
Rachel writes with confidence and the story was very believable. I highly recommend reading this series and I will definitely be going back to read the first two as well as the conclusion to Nate and Tara's story.

I pretty much yelled at my kindle the ENTIRE time I read this book, not because I didn't like the book, I loved it!! These characters made you work, and work, and work....Everything against them, the seemingly impossible odds, the tension, the action, the heart-wrenching events all calculated to drive them apart. Tore me up, put me back together and left me with my jaw dropped to the floor at the end!! I'm craving the next book for this couple like now!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!

I’m a huge Tonks fan and I think this is my favorite to date.
It’s kind of a forbidden love, where Nate and Tara are forbidden from being together by the MC president, Nates father.
This story is a struggle of love, power and redemption.
An absolutely amazing story. Well written and had me booked from the beginning.

A raw and gripping read that throws you head first into the MC world. With a storyline filled with heartache, love, betrayal, and pain, I was captivated from the first chapter. To add to the drama, it leaves you with a ending that has you saying "OMG...did that just happen?" I absolutely can not wait to read the next book in this fantastic series!!!

This book had me itching to find out how it would end...
The intensity and angst comes in bucket loads. It has everything a dark MC read should have.
I love the attention to detail and the way this author draws you into the story. I for one, was hoping that some side characters would get their HEA.
This book ends in one OMG cliffy that will leave you begging for more.

Holy hell, this book ends with a massive cliffhanger!
Things haven't been easy for Nate and Tara, having to sneak around and keep their relationship a secret. But as long as Nate's father, Jeffries, is president of the Savages MC, Nate will have to keep his distance from her. Which leaves Tara vulnerable to Jeffries' pursuit and torment. Just when it seems as if our couple will get their HEA they are hit with a shocking twist that no one saw coming.

My favourite read of 2018 so far!
This book has everything. Angst, love, hate and suspense. I just loved Nate and Tara.
There are twists and turns aplenty and prepare to be shocked! This is not a light fluffy read. But dark, gritty and oh so delicious!!!

This is the third book in this fantastic series. Nate and Tara have a forbidden romance off sorts, which is heartbreaking with the sacrifices they need to make along the way. This story is filled with angst, emotion, drama, danger, and is an intense, raw, gritty, and powerful story, which had me captivated throughout. I have read all of this authors’ work from the very beginning, and I am in awe at how talented she is, and each story just keeps getting better and better. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all MC lovers out there, and this series is certainly not for the faint hearted.

Prepared to get sucked in from the very beginning. I couldn't put this one down and didn't want to. Tara and Nate had my heart in a tailspin through the whole read. What a ride. In the world of MC life isn't easy. Nate is stuck between a rock and a hard place with his dad the Prez and the woman he loves. The struggle is real to keep her safe. Tara is a lot stronger then one first thinks. She may not have been part of the Savage MC lifestyle but she is one tough cookie. In Love and Ruins takes you on a roller coaster ride of the best kind. Rachael Tonks is brilliant with this third book. And yes I yelled and wanted to throw my kindle at the very end. Ugh what a way to end this one. I am going to wait patiently as I can for the next book.

I knew Tara and Nate’s story would be a messed up story but WOW! It’s more of mess than I thought. I felt really bad for both Tara and Nate. They love each other so much but people were trying to keep them apart. I loved this book so much but I didn’t like how it ended, a cliffhanger really ugh. I’ll wait patiently for the next one though.

I have been looking forward to Tara and Nate’s forbidden love story since the previous book ,THE SCARS OF US, which set up their book marvelously. (It should be noted that although technically this third book can be read independently I recommend reading the first two installments in the Scars series first to get acquainted with the colorful cast of characters and to gain a deeper understanding of the main couple’s backstory. )

MY MUSINGS:
I adore a scintillating MC saga and this one had me hooked from page one! IN LOVE AND RUINS was an EXPLOSIVE read, jam-packed with a thrilling fusion of breathtaking romance, spine-chilling danger, pulse pounding excitement, heartshattering angst and scorching sensuality. And eeeep! Talk about being fully immersed in a story! I was gripped by a plethora of goosebumps and jittery, tummy clenching feels throughout and could not BEAR to put this book down!
One thing this author truly excels at is penning primally sexy alpha protectors, and Nate left me all aquiver! I mean who doesn’t swoon like crazy over a hot, tatted, dirty-talking hero who RISKS IT ALL to keep his girl safe?
As for Tara, I loved her sweetness and spirit, and I admired how she fights tooth and nail for her man. And even when she acts rashly you can’t help but root for her! I was addicted to the high voltage chemistry between this desperately in love duo and the heartbreaking sacrifices they make for each other throughout gutted me!
As for the MC storyline, I seriously just could not get enough of this gritty romance featuring badass outlaws doing very bad things! But brace yourself…this book is not for the faint of heart! There is plenty of action and graphic violence, gunplay and gory mayhem! My nerves were frayed as I breathlessly turned the pages, oftentimes with a racing heart, desperate to find out what would happen next! And yup, I might have shrieked in frustration a time or two, but that’s par for the course with a Rachael Tonks book.

I have been looking forward to Tara and Nate’s forbidden love story since the previous book ,THE SCARS OF US, which set up their book marvelously. (It should be noted that although technically this third book can be read independently I recommend reading the first two installments in the Scars series first to get acquainted with the colorful cast of characters and to gain a deeper understanding of the main couple’s backstory. )
THE STORY:

MY MUSINGS:
I adore a scintillating MC saga and this one had me hooked from page one! IN LOVE AND RUINS was an EXPLOSIVE read, jam-packed with a thrilling fusion of breathtaking romance, spine-chilling danger, pulse pounding excitement, heartshattering angst and scorching sensuality. And eeeep! Talk about being fully immersed in a story! I was gripped by a plethora of goosebumps and jittery, tummy clenching feels throughout and could not BEAR to put this book down!
One thing this author truly excels at is penning primally sexy alpha protectors, and Nate left me all aquiver! I mean who doesn’t swoon like crazy over a hot, tatted, dirty-talking hero who RISKS IT ALL to keep his girl safe?
As for Tara, I loved her sweetness and spirit, and I admired how she fights tooth and nail for her man. And even when she acts rashly you can’t help but root for her! I was addicted to the high voltage chemistry between this desperately in love duo and the heartbreaking sacrifices they make for each other throughout gutted me!
As for the MC storyline, I seriously just could not get enough of this gritty romance featuring badass outlaws doing very bad things! But brace yourself…this book is not for the faint of heart! There is plenty of action and graphic violence, gunplay and gory mayhem! My nerves were frayed as I breathlessly turned the pages, oftentimes with a racing heart, desperate to find out what would happen next! And yup, I might have shrieked in frustration a time or two, but that’s par for the course with a Rachael Tonks book.

4.5 omg stars!! Ok I am a super fan of this author and most definitely this series and she did not disappoint here!!
This is the third book of “The Scars Series”. And no you may not read as a stand alone! I mean maybe you could but you would be lost AND it ends in a cliffy!!!

Nate~ I want her in my life. She is the first woman who has ever made me feel. Problem is she is off limits. Her family and Mom family, well, we had a falling out. One thing you learn when being the son of the Savages MC President is you do as your told and don’t ask questions. But I don’t know how I am going to keep away....
Tara~ why did I fall for the one man I can’t have?!?! So if you are keeping up you know my POS cousin is 6 ft under and tried to destroy my best friend. Little did I know he would be reaching from the grave to destroy me...
💭 My thoughts...
Another killer story!! I have had a soft spot for Nate since I first met him. Of course anyone friends with Brax is ok with me. I love Nate!! Damn it if I didn’t realize sooner how screwed in the head his father is. Anyway, Nate and Tara made sense to me and I have been a supporter since they first met. So I have been on pins and needles waiting for this book and ahhhhh it was amazing!! I also love how much Brax and Izzy are still in it. Damn I love those two too!!
This is a true blue MC book, with all its dirt and grit. You live by the patch and you die by the patch! Beware this is no rainbows and popsicles here so if you can’t handle a little dark then this is not the read for you.
I love how descriptive this author is. You can make people feel like this movie is playing out in front of them and that’s what this author did. And then it ended and it destroyed me. I wasn’t ready!! This book had love, lust, heartbreak, demons, evil, humor, sexy MC men, dark subjects, suspense and sexy time. This is a must read so go ahead and one click now!!!

I'm in love and ruins over this book....
Rachael did an amazing job with this one. She is definitely channeling the darker side of writing and I for one am so glad she has. I am an angst, dark, ugly cry reader and love the emotions that this book brought in myself. And I'm a die hard MC reader and I think Rachael has done an amazing job on getting the MC vibe too!
Nate is a tattoo artist at heart whom is forced and born into the MC life. He has gone through so many atrocities and hurt being the Presidents Son of this MC. The things he has went through is just heartbreaking to read about but dang has made him into the awesome man he is today! And love he has for Tara is an amazing thing to witness. The only thing is someone else close to him thinks she belongs to him. Warnings and striking out have come......and Jeffries is POS in my opinion. I really hope that man suffers the fire of hell!! just my opinion which is well deserved.
Tara is a person born into a crime family and is the concellation prize. I love how strong of character she is turning out to be...she is definitely a fighter worthy of a patched member of an MC. I love how we got glimpses of past characters as Braxton and Isabelle from previous books. Love how it all intertwines.
Times are a changing and some really hard times are a coming....we will have to wait to see how this all plays out in the next installment of the brilliantly written series. Seriously think Rachael is coming into her own and growing in leaps and bounds with each book she writes. Please keep them coming and hoping impatiently that we don't have to wait to long for the ending of this amazing series.

I am really liking this series. So maybe book 2 fell a little short for me but so what, the series as a whole is growing into something really good.
In Love and Ruins follows on from the Scars of Us in the sense that we get to see how the relationship between the secondary characters, Nate and Tara, evolves. There is a lot of referencing back to the events of the previous books, but i wouldnt say it is a necessity to read them first.
This is you typical MC book...guns, drugs and sex aplenty. And of course, violence. There a few heart in mouth moments, a couple of times I wished I could have shot the bad guys myself but mostly I was completely carried away in the story and most of the characters. (More of that to follow)
Again Rachael has left us in suspense and the threat of further bloodshed has left me thirsty for more from this series.
But... (always a but!) I have no sympathy whatsoever for Tara. I just could not take to the woman. Maybe she thought she was being independant, maybe she thought being the cousin of a dead bad guy would save her, maybe her shattered heart made her go funny in the head but what she actually was was stubborn and selfish. I didn't like her attitude, I didn't like her reasoning and I didn't like her lack of trust in those who love her.

Wow! Crazy! Rachael sure has a mind in left field and its for the benefit of her readers. There is a slot of triggers. However, if your looking for an exciting book that reminds you of Sons of Anarchy and gives you a good adrenalin rush then you have found it. You are left with crazy emotions and one being hatred for someone who could be so malicious and psychotic that even the devil looks sane. On to the next book in this explosive and exciting series.

I've been looking forward to Nate and Tara's story in this series and I was not disappointed! This book has heat, angst, it's dark and keeps you on the edge of your seat! And that ending! Can't wait for the next book! That's all I can say without giving it away! Read the book!
