Wedding Bells are Ringing... But Not for Melissa Parker.

Months after shocking The Kind of September’s friends, family, and fandom with news of their engagement, Cory Foreman and Tara Meeks are ready to walk down the aisle, and Mel couldn’t be happier for them. At least, that’s what the world is supposed to think, especially now that she’s been recruited as a bridesmaid.

While Septembrists are bracing themselves for the upcoming nuptials, Mel, Sam, and the rest of the guys are celebrating a new album, embracing new romances, and trying their best to avoid new rumors... Particularly those claiming that Mel and Sam are on the verge of ending their relationship.

I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Jacqueline has done it yet again! This was another amazing book from her.

This book is technically the end of the of the series, but I’m still holding on to hope that there will be more. *fingers crossed* As a conclusion, this book was great. It wrapped up the main storyline of the Tara drama perfectly. I was very happy with what ultimately transpired.

I really liked how this book incorporated even more of Chloe and Kendra. They’re both super awesome characters and were a nice addition to the band’s inner circle. I loved the all-girl alliance that Mel, Joni, Chloe, and Kendra formed.

description

Like the other books in this series, there were a lot of twists and turns. It kept me guessing the entire time. I literally had no idea how it was going to end. I got anxious in the last 30 pages because I wasn’t sure what would happen. But like I mentioned previously, it ended very well. I have zero complaints.

As a random side note, there was one paragraph in the beginning that I really loved. It’s when Mel is describing how hot Sam looks while shooting a music video. She remarks, “By God, he looks so good. He kind of looks like the Prince from Beauty and the Beast, but if the Prince was blond and like, a million times hotter. And not animated” (46). As you probably already know, I love Beauty and the Beast and I love any reference to it.

Overall, this was perfect!!

First of all, I would like to thank to Jacqueline for sending me a copy of her book for me to review it! ❤️

I’ve read all three previous books of this series and have them all 5 stars and you probably you start thinking that reading four books on the same subject would begin to feel boring, right? Wrong!

I don’t know how Jacqueline does it, but I just find myself more and more engaged in her books, her writing and her characters!

In spite of being worldwide superstars, you can definitely relate to most aspects of these characters life and that’s just awesome!

Besides that, it’s impossible not to fall for the couples that appear in the story (except for one, I guess 😅) and you definitely cheery with their ups and feel bad with their downs.

The chapters are also small and the writing super accessible which makes the process of reading it such a pleasant one. And a fast one too, because of all twists and more twists that happen in between and make you eager to know what will happen at the end!

I would really love to see a fifth book about TKOS and their family and friends coming out! What about you?? 😍

The spotlight shines on a couple, but which is the right one?

Jacqueline does it again with her brilliant conversation, plots between characters, and constant shifting of the chess pieces. With a unique look through the eyes of Mel, we see how harsh fame and fortune can be on those truly in love.

The emotions among the members of the group are still running high, plans are in place, and events set. For those who do not like Tara, it’s a runaway train that’s going to destroy them all. Between plotting and counterplots, misdirection and paths unexpected, Jacqueline keeps the reader engaged until the very end. If you’ve read the other books in the series, don’t miss this one!

Sam and Mel 💕

A very sweet innocent YA series, I loved that she never broke up Sam and Mel it was nice to see a writer use a different type of angst instead of the typical breakup. Also a wonderful way to wrap up the series with all the boys back together!

This is the fourth book of the series and it probably was the best one of them all, and I’m not saying it just because Jackie put my name on the acknowledgments part, even if I could be biased by it.
This book was full of sassy remarks, fun lines, hilarious comments. By now, you’re more than acquainted with The Kind Of September and their friends Mel and Joni. In this one, Mel is struggling with coming to peace with Cory’s wedding to the evil bitch of all ends: Tara. If Tara is the epitome of all that is wrong with reality TV starlets, you’ll find yourself rolling your eyes at Cory’s naive behaviour, which makes the ending even better, tbh. If you’re like me, Josh will steal your heart in a blink of an eye. If you were curious about him, this is the book you need.
Jackie has a way with words that makes every chapter amazing and interesting. There’s no page where you might want to skip a few paragraphs. Her characters are all special, bringing the little something that the story needs. I know she usually lets them live and writes about what they’re up to, without really much controlling anything. This might be the proof that she managed to create a magical world where the characters are fooling you, making you think you’re reconnecting with a bunch of friends.
Friends you’d like to hang on with 24/7.

Oh, Jacqueline E. Smith, that conclusion; you make me smile so hard!
Wow, like the first three before it, SPOTLIGHT was wonderfully entertaining and thoroughly engaging! I didn’t want it to end. I love this heartwarming series.
The characters are wholesome and honestly, they feel REAL to me, fleshed out with their own distinct personality traits, opinions, and backstories. The authenticity of these characters are my favorite part of this amazing series.
I love Mel and Sam. 😍 Their private moments are tender and sweet. I’ve enjoyed their romance so much and how it’s evolved over time. What a ride!
As usual, “haters gonna hate”, and the gossip blogs and tabloids are trashing Mel and Sam, trashing the band, and generally just being a pain. However, Mel and the gang roll with the punches. False accusations and rumors are all a part of the gig. They handle it with dignity, class, and grace. It’s admirable.
I’m really going to miss Mel Parker and The Kind of September, but that ending, OMG, it was all I could have dreamed of and more. It was so beautiful. Well done, Jacqueline E. Smith!

This is the last book in the Boy Band Series, and I can say without a doubt that it ended perfectly.

This book continues to follow Mel and the boys of The Kind of September. They are getting ready for Tara and Cory's wedding. Gossip continues to be the driving force for the media, and everyone has their own opinion.

I loved how Mel and Sam stayed true to each other throughout all the rumors. They truly loved each other. It was also nice seeing the other characters and their day to day lives.

Reading this series truly makes you realize how stories get twisted and how they affect celebrities.

If you love boy bands, celebrity gossip, and amazing friendships, then you definitely need to check this series out!

Jacqueline has done it again, this time with Spotlight. More drama, more humor, more sweet romance. I'm glad I didn't have to wait months before reading this last book in the series. Loved the way the story was woven and how everything came together at the end. She has a way of making the character's so believable, I could picture everything that happened. I didn't want the series to end, but I guess now I'll have to read her other books.

Feels like a rollercoaster ride. Even though I'm not into boybands, the characters from these four books are so great, you just want everything to go well for them. And I'm very glad that this book didn't end with one of the amazing cliffhangers the three previous books did. I very much enjoyed reading this series.
