This book is kinda typical. I really expected more but the book didn't give. It's like every teen girl book, she does long-distance with her boyfriend. They break up and all of a sudden she meets a new boy. Along the way, she meets her best friends and they do everything together. I've heard this plot a million times! I do like that they kinda show the chaos of new york and what an internship is like but the author didn't go into much detail about the whole experience of New York itself, which kinda made me sad. I like how the author puts in on how all the girls fight in the dorm room and some struggle in there but I wanted a twist. I almost expected a rivaling against some of the girls but it lacked that. Overall would I recommend this book to someone, no. But it's not the worst thing I read.

Seventeen-year-old Babylon Edison is ready for the adventure of a lifetime. She's on her way to New York City to spend the summer as an intern at her favorite magazine, Orange. As an added bonus, she gets to work alongside her heroine, Orange's fabulous and famous Editor-in-Chief, Izzy LaPointe. Could life get any better?

Well, there are a couple of clouds on Babyl's horizon. First, she has to leave her gorgeous and sweet boyfriend, Jordan, behind in Boston. And she's assigned to live in a gross college dorm room with four other high school interns, all of whom are cutthroat competitive to get on Editor Izzy's good side. Oh, and then there's the uncomfortable lesson Babyl begins to learn about how not everyone is as wonderful on the inside as they look on the outside.

It's going to be a hot summer in the Big Apple.

ORANGE IS THE NEW PINK is a funny, exciting, fast-paced story that shows a group of girls from all over the country coping with their first taste of the real world. The experience changes them all in some way, but none of them lose the core of who they are - in fact, some of them begin to really understand their identity for the first time. The girls get themselves into quite a bit of mischief in the big city, but they all remain likeable and well-meaning throughout the book. The story also offers a bunch of handsome, talented college guys who are interning at a neighboring magazine, celebrity-filled parties, concerts, and a great scene with a romantic first kiss at Coney Island.

I really enjoyed ORANGE IS THE NEW PINK and recommend it highly. I like getting a "take away" message from good books, and this one did not disappoint me. In ORANGE, Babylon learns that things don't always turn out the way you expect. Her summer, her hero, her relationships with both the girls and boys in her life, were all full of surprises. But if you're open to the unexpected, it might end up being even better than you planned. That's what I walked away with when I turned the last page of ORANGE. That, plus a big grin on my face from reading such a fun and uplifting story.

A seventeen year old girl called Babylon Edison. Babylon is going to NEW YORK (ny) to spend her summer vacation, at her favorite magazine company , Orange !
She gets the chance to work with the company ! Amazingly Happy ! Before she went to New York she was in Boston. There, she had to leave her boyfriend , Jordan , which was a lot of pain for her ! Then when she goes to New York, and work at Orange, she and her work pals plan stories, run photo shoots, interview the hottest stars, and scoop the coolest, hottest trends. The entire city is full of hot goys, they are absolutely excited for their vacation ! Its going to be POPIN !
The book is a fun, funny, and exciting book. They experience challenges, but they never change their personality. As I said before the city if full of hot guys, who they meet at neighbor magazines, parties filled with celebrities , and other amazing places.

I really enjoyed the book, and I would recommend it to girls, who have a feeling of being magazines writer. This book taught me that things don’t always turn out the way you expect it too and if your open to the unexpected, it might end up being even better than you planned. The book is amazing, hope you read it !

This book is really a review of what New York City can do to a person. I didn't really 'love' the book mainly because of the writing style. Babylon lives in a small town where opportunities aren't as great as ones in NYC, but she lands an internship for the summer to work at one of the most popular magazine, ORANGE. From the new and extremely exciting lifestyle, she kind of lose sight of who she is or what she wants until she found out about something at the end of the book. It's kind of sad but also shows how mean some people can be or how corrupted their thinking is. So read it to find out.

This is a fictionalized account of Sassy magazine and what happened when the reader contest they held blew up...it's obvious that Izzie is really Jane Pratt and this book is meant to be a middle finger to her. It would have been amusing, but it really bit the big one when biracial girl Babylon is oh-so-shocked when she is chosen for the column because of her race....what the f** does this girl think affirmative action is??? There is nothing worse than people who don't realize that race is the number one reason why people get jobs or get college admission..... gotta fill those quotas!!! Wake up!!!
